Oprah lets America down.

Apparently Palin left Oprah's studio with good feelings and warm memories. In short Oprah did NOT ask Sarah any really tough questions.

So for everybody who had hoped that Oprah was too independent and strong minded to conduct a soft ball interview with Palin, sorry to disappoint you.

Winfrey seems to have interviewed her in the same manner she would use to interview Jennifer Aniston, instead of the manner in which she would interview Joseph McCarthy, which would be the much more APPROPRIATE approach.

Here is Sarah's Facebook post about her "interview".

Willow, Piper, and I are in Chicago and just wanted to let you know that I had a great conversation with Oprah today. We taped the show for Monday, November 16th, and enjoyed it so much that we went way over on time. The rest will air on Oprah.com. Oprah was very hospitable and gracious, and her audience was full of warm, energized and (no doubt) curious viewers.

- Sarah Palin

Oprah, Oprah, Oprah. You HAD her. She was right there in YOUR studio. In front of YOUR audience. Under YOUR control. You could have crushed her like a bug!

But no. You just let her slip right through your perfectly manicured fingers. Where is your patriotism?

Did you not receive all of the information and questions from the thousands of people who wanted you to finally confront her on the questions that she has thus far refused to answer? Did you not hear the passion in their voices? Did you not recognize their concern?

I believe the plan is for the bloggers to head over to Shannyn's on Monday and watch this travesty together. I imagine there will be a number of catcalls and adult beverages to dull our disappointment. We might be live blogging it but I will let you know.

Oprah, Oprah, Oprah.

This kind of play for ratings is just unforgiveable.

What to expect from someone who exploits the suffering of a woman attacked by a chimp?

Oprah is too connected to President Obama to ask Sarah tough questions.

Oprah would be crucified in the media for her bias if she had torn little Sarah to shreds.

No need to waste time watching this interview.

  3. Don't cha think that Oprah and sarah had a deal worked out before palin stepped foot on her show?
Do you think whalinpalin will appear anywhere she can't control the dialog?
She learned it from McCain's campaign. She thought she could be VP by just talking to Fox.

Obermann said an interesting thing last night.
He was talking about palin and her coin conspiracy. He said something like
If you are fact checked by Fox, then you are toast.
Why would then have done that to her now?
They have let all the other lies flourish and actually promoted them(death panels), so why did they pick this and will they continue?
Are they mad at her because she went to Oprah instead of Greta?

Did Oprah get to her feelings on the Wasilla Church fire? I hope that is in the book. It is such a hushed subject.

  7. You're probably right and it will be a softball interview, but do you think SP would say in advance that she'd been asked anything embarrassing? I don't. We'll see. Her head's so far up her own ass, she might not even realize that something made her look bad. I'm sure it's no Katie Couric debacle, but hopefully at least a few laughs to be had at her expense.

I lost respect for her a long time ago, and this is not surprising at all. Why those of you with information are waiting, I do not know. I think that information should have been released before the interview, so she would have to have addressed it.

Oprah is for nothing but Oprah anymore. Has been that way for a long, long time.

Why are Willow and Piper not in school? Doing their homework, paling around with their school buddies, forming life long friendships, doing school sports, joining choirs, debate teams etc?

Why is their mom willfully keeping them from receiving an education?
It's not like Sarah is home schooling.

I never expected anything else. Nobody's going to go on Oprah if they think she's going to be tough on them. She's Larry King. She's too impressed with herself for getting the interview to do any real interviewing. And Sarah isn't going to be interviewed by anybody unless she's sure she won't actually be asked any questions.

And for the person who asked, Willow and Piper are not in school because Sarah and Todd don't feel education is important. They've done fine without it, themselves. (and no, I don't think Sarah's six year, five school degree in broadcast journalism counts for much.)

"They have let all the other lies flourish and actually promoted them(death panels), so why did they pick this and will they continue?"

At a guess, it is slightly because the POTUS has called them what they aren't - a news source. And largely because most Americans have seen the coins and know they predate Jan 2009.

So Fox can state the truth, since everybody already knows it, and claim to be "unbiased."

Wait a few days and they be passing along her next lie like it was a new book in the Bible.

I think Piper is being indoctrinated at a church school. It hardly matters if she attends or not.

Did you hear the "Sarah from Alaska"(?) writers tell the Piper story? It's in there book, McCain staffers.

You are a wuss & a disgrace. You had plenty of emails that were negative about her being there in the first place. Hope you got the ratings you wanted & the SarahPac following you probably won't want. In case you haven't been watching, the are a little crazy & want to take down this country & especially you friends the Obamas. Perhaps they will be your new followers. Libs & dem sure as shit won't be.

Of course there were rules before she even went on. Do you really think she would have went on there no holds barred..come on..So people will have to keep there secrets i guess until Levi's book comes out because really, what else would everybody be waiting on. The election was over a year ago and she hasnt been gov since July so why keep your secrets unless its for someone to get a payday..jmo

Yep. I knew this would happen. NO way in Hell that Oprah would do an actual, information gathering interview. She's an entertainment talk show host. Not an investigative reporter. I will certainly not be watching, as I haven't watched Oprah in ages anyway. She "talked about everything" according to Oprah..... to that I say, "Oprah, YOU LIE!"

Oprah gave a platform to a woman who is systematically trying to take away the rights of American citizens. I wonder if Oprah asked her about her statements about blacks, or her stance on the Juneteenth issue in Alaska..... I bet not. Too inflammatory. Never mind all the "gates" and her compound and her money money money.

Oprah=coward. When is someone going to step forward? How about Grayson? I'd love to see that interview!

Sorry, Gryphen, this time I must agree with anniebgood @ 7:09. Since when was there any truth on SP's Facebook?

Think I will wait and rely on my own conclusions re this one. For me it isn't unlike waiting for the film to be developed before I make any rash judgment against young Levi.

But! It never ceases to amaze me that those kids aren't in school getting the education they will need after their mother's fame runs dry and her millions evaporate into thin air...

...unless, of course, Willow has plans of hiring her own ghostwriter and publishing her own tell- all version of "Mommy Dearest."

I agree that Sarah would say everything went well even if it didn't either because she's too stupid and self-centered to realize how horribly she comes across sometimes, OR...

because she want to control the fallout before it happens. If Oprah didn't handle her with kid gloves and if Sarah may have come across in a negative light, Sarah would want to do a preemptive strike. She says now how gracious Oprah and her audience were, then Sarah looks like even more of a victim if that's not the case.

Still, I don't think anyone really believed this was going to be a hard-hitting interview. At the very least, I hope Oprah pushed Sarah on her comments and interference on health care reform.

I am not going to stick up for Oprah. I don't like her show and I don't watch it. But, I am sure that there were some ground rules in order to get Sarah Palin to appear. I was reading about Carrie Prejean's appearance on Larry King, and Carrie took off her microphone and was ready to walk off the show because she didn't expect to take questions from callers. Things are spelled out in advance.

Oprah's ratings are sinking, and she needs the viewers, even the conservative ones. Sarah may be in Chicago, but there is no mention of her in either newspaper today. And, I am all for a soft cupcake fluff interview, which means that Sarah didn't have to prepare and could just talk and talk. Maybe we will be treated to yet another version of "How I learned Trig had DS" or "My Wild Ride" or "Todd, he's my guy." The more she talks, the more versions we hear of our favorite stories.

Sometimes unguarded is better than too-prepared. Sarah thought that she was telling a wonderful story when she brought up the coin conspiracy at her Milwaukee speech last week. The false nature of the story has been trailing her for a week now, despite the fact that the audience she told it to applauded and cheered. Sometimes Sarah thinks that she is doing a great interview, and then it turns out that there are turkeys being slaughtered in the background.

  24. Word has leaked (don't know if true) that while on Oprah, SP said she invited Levi to Thanksgiving dinner (see Bree Palin blog). Reminds me of when Greta was in Alaska and brought up Hillary Clinton, SP said "Oh, I think I'm gonna give her (Hillary) a call tonight!"
That did not ring true either.
I agree that (after the huge support of Obama during the campaign), Oprah had to be careful not to appear to be attacking Palin.

Oh, I saw the Oprah preview clip yesterday. Oprah looked BORED out of her MIND when describing what they discussed. And the best Oprah could say was it was "interesting." I'm not going to watch it, but we know Sarah Palin doesn't have a clue how she comes across. Her NPD doesn't allow her to see herself realistically or in the eyes of others.

So I'm sure there are some Palin snafus to behold. But Palin is just selling books at this point, so of course it's a success to her. Oprah ALWAYS runs over and then THEY EDIT IT. Doesn't Palin know how TV works? Oh, that's right, she just has a "BS in journalism."

    Gryphen, Gryphen, Gryphen.

    You are such a child.

Palin was on this show conditionally; that is, there were pre-agreed to topics; etc.

Furthermore, I realize it is inconceivable to you but not everyone believes in the Alice-through-the-looking-glass world you do. That is,
for the majority of Americans, Trig was born to Palin and Levi Johnston has yet to say anything that can be corroborated.

Have you asked yourself why Johnston is only working the "Carny Circuit"? He's a sideshow and heavies like Oprah, Letterman, and Jon Stewart want nothing to do with him. (Larry King, of course, is right on this kind of thing having broke the "Alien Autopsy" blockbuster.)

But kick that around awhile. Ask yourself why Palin is getting a paycheck from Oprah and not your hockey-playing knight errant.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oprah the ratings HO.........

Oprah is turning her program into a Jerry Springer, Wassilabilly side show, whilst assisting Palin in making money from her book .

Palin is not running for VP anymore, she QUIT her term as Governor of Alaska solely in order to cash in and Oprah is happy to oblige in this effort.

Sarah Palin has ridiculous, dangerous ideas and why on EARTH Oprah is giving her a large voice, by "interviewing" her only Oprah's wallet knows.

How can anyone POSSIBLY have a decent interview with a person who is, first a serial liar and as Peggy Noonan put it in:

    A Farewell to Harms

Palin was bad for the Republicans—and the republic.

In television interviews she was out of her depth in a shallow pool.

She was limited in her ability to explain and defend her positions, and sometimes in knowing them.

She couldn't say what she read because she didn't read anything. She was utterly unconcerned by all this and seemed in fact rather proud of it: It was evidence of her authenticity.

She experienced criticism as both partisan and cruel because she could see no truth in any of it.

She wasn't thoughtful enough to know she wasn't thoughtful enough.

Her presentation up to the end has been scattered, illogical, manipulative and self-referential to the point of self-reverence. "I'm not wired that way," "I'm not a quitter," "I'm standing up for our values." I'm, I'm, I'm.

In another age it might not have been terrible, but here and now it was actually rather horrifying.

McCain-Palin lost. Mrs. Palin has now stepped down, but she continues to poll high among some members of the Republican base, some of whom have taken to telling themselves Palin myths.

To wit, "I love her because she's so working-class."
This is a favorite of some party intellectuals.

She is not working class, never was, and even she, avid claimer of advantage that she is, never claimed to be and just lets others say it.

Her father was a teacher and school track coach, her mother the school secretary.

They were middle-class figures of respect, stability and local status.

I think intellectuals call her working-class because they see the makeup, the hair, the heels and the sleds and think they're working class "tropes."

Because, you know, that's what they teach in "Ways of the Working Class" at Yale and Dartmouth.

What she is, is a seemingly very nice middle-class girl with ambition, appetite and no sense of personal limits.

"She's not Ivy League, that's why her rise has been thwarted!

She represented the democratic ideal that you don't have to go to Harvard or Brown to prosper, and her fall represents a failure of egalitarianism."

    This comes from intellectuals too.

They need to be told something.

Ronald Reagan went to Eureka College.

Richard Nixon went to Whittier College, Joe Biden to the University of Delaware.

Sarah Palin graduated in the end from the University of Idaho, a school that happily notes on its Web site that it's included in U.S. News & World Report's top national schools survey.

They need to be told, too, that the first Republican president was named "Abe," and he went to Princeton and got a Fulbright.

Oh wait, he was an impoverished backwoods autodidact!

    "The elites hate her."

    The elites made her.

It was the elites of the party, the McCain campaign and the conservative media that picked her and pushed her.

The base barely knew who she was.

It was the elites, from party operatives to public intellectuals, who advanced her and attacked those who said she lacked heft.

She is a complete elite confection. She might as well have been a bonbon.

The Oprah show is no different than a host of other talking head shows on tv. She isn't a news person any longer - hasn't been for years. Look at her shows over the past couple of years. Look at what she'll do for ratings -- almost anything. I expect nothing more than what she's going to deliver and honestly I can't even be bothered to watch her show at all and there's no way I'm remotely interested in watching SP for 60 minutes less commercials. I can think of way better ways to spend that hour.

I think you're leaping to judgement too quickly here. It's important to remember the Sarah is delusional when it comes to this stuff, and may being viewing her time on Oprah through her standard rose-colored glasses.

Remember those ridiculous Katie Couric interviews? The ones that exposed her to millions of Americans as a sham and in imbecil? They were taped over a period of a week. They began to air before they finished taping. And yet she kept going back for more, somehow believing they were good for her image and campaign.

I believe this shows that it is very likely that she's just as deluded now. IE, the fact that she left Oprah feeling good about her time there is in no way related to whether or not Oprah asked tough questions.

Lets just wait til Monday to judge Oprah...

Oprah has invented the #palinonoprah hashtag. I suggest we all tweet our real feelings about the interview and what WASN'T asked. Use that hashtag in your tweet so your comments come up when people are searching for Palin on Oprah. That will also help the topic go up in the "trending topics" bar to the right on Twitter. Please also include a link to IM.

    Something like:

I am withholding judgement until the interview airs. Whatever 'facts' they perceive to be against Sarah are dismissed as lies; yet, NOTHING remotely bad about Obama is too far fetched.

Go have a look at my last encounter at www.archivist1000.blogspot.com (last night) If you read the thread (totally unchanged) your blood will run cold, at the total 'willfull ignorance' ... the only real issue, when it comes to Sarah, is 'how many Americans are this stupid?' .... because they are the key. They are like 2 yr olds with their hands over their ears, humming LALALALaLaLa. Seriously. I know it sounds like I am plugging my blog, (and to a point I am, I guess) but that exchange (and a previous one) are word for word; if engaging with a Palinbot isn't something you have ever done, have a look .. it's an eye opener, insofar as it's a 'view' into the depth of the immense black hole of 'thought' Palinbots exist in.

Oprah has annointed herself as the God of knowing everything everyone else in life should do and feel. She lost her 'edge' as a true interviewer years ago. Those that kiss the floor she walks on are the equivalent of Palin's supporters -- they're blind.

When the interview was announced, to me it was who cares knowing Oprah 'thinks' she's god, everyone will watch because it's 'ME'.

Oprah is as out of touch with people as Palin is. She talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. When someone goes to a hotel on a road trip and finds it necessary to vocalize on national TV that she turned her nose up at the sheets, yet ad nauseam refers to her 'poor' childhood life -- is a clue she has raised herself far above everyone else.

I, from the start expected a fluff interview so to hear many appearing upset she didn't go after Palin for numerous issues -- time to do a reality check in that MSM, interviewers, et al, will not come through for you. The fact they have since her resignation accepted and promoted it as being acceptible for voicing political issues and lies on Facebook is clear indication they have no interest to challenge who in fact writes the Facebook page as they heard the same speeches we did and know or ought to know, Palin does not have the abilitity to write what they read and dialogue about on the various shows. Thought MSM was bad during Bush years -- they've sunk to a new lower level endorsing Facebook and Twitter acceptible for politics.

Actually, SP knew she did very badly in the first Katie Couric interview. Here is a quote from her post-election interview with the giant ass John Ziegler: “No, I knew it didn’t go well…I knew it didn’t go well the first day, and then we gave her a couple of other segments after that; and my question to the campaign was, ‘after it didn’t go well the first day why were we gonna go back for more?’”

She wanted to quit the interviews?! Shocking!

  48. Maybe, just maybe, Oprah just decided the best thing to do was to interview her as if she were just a housewife with some faith story, NOT like she has any opinions on anything important.

Maybe she decided to defuse it by talking about kids and moose chili, thereby making her less than presidential material, if you know what I mean.

She thought she did well, at the time. She actually blamed how badly it went on the GOTCHA! questions (what do you read?? ) and then at one point she re-phrased it into Couric implying that AK didn't have up to date news, which Couric did not.

I don't believe Palin really thought the interview went badly, she didn't come to that conclusion until long after, I am sure of it.

She is just lying about that, like she is now lying about her 'point' when she brought up the coin conspiracy last week.

Let's NOT forget the key to Palin here: It doesn't MATTER that she lies, because her supporters justify it all. (see my earlier post Archivist 9:28 about her Palinbots)

Sarah knows this very well. She has complete confidence in the uneducated, willfully ignorant people who 'support' her.

Okay, so now we know. No drama between Levi and Sarah. She and the family love him, want to bring him into the protective loving fold of the family to keep him safe! We don't do drama!

Sanctimonious Sarah seems Scared and quite frankly doesn't look as 'hot' as I'd have expected her to for a sting on Oprah. Can't wait to hear how Levi reacts to these statements.

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/11/12/palin-were-not-really-into-the-drama/

(CNN) – Sarah Palin and her almost-son-in-law Levi Johnston have been in a war of words for months, but the former Alaska governor told Oprah Winfrey in just-released clips of the highly-anticipated interview that he is still "part of the family."

While not directly saying whether or not Johnston is invited to Thanksgiving dinner, Palin said her family still has affection for Johnston.

"It's lovely to think that he would ever even consider such a thing," Palin told Winfrey. "Because of course you want - he is a part of the family and you want to bring him in the fold and kind of under your wing. And he needs that, too."

Discussing her new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life," on Winfrey's famous couch, Palin said she and her family want to make peace with Johnston and move past the dramatics that have unfolded in the media over the last year. Johnston was once engaged to Palin's daughter, Bristol, and is the father of Palin's grandson, Tripp.

"I think he needs to know that he is loved and he has the most beautiful child, and this can all work out for good," Palin said. "It really can. We don't have to keep going down this road of controversy and drama all the time. We're not really into the drama. We don't really like that. We're more productive."

I guess now that she's said that Levi, you can come back home to Alaska and move in to the new place with Bristol where you're welcome with open and loving arms.

I keep reading about this "journalism degree" that Palin has....Communications DOES NOT = Journalism in the various collegiate disciplines. Has anyone confirmed it ??? Any old pals from those schools she attended...possibly a program from graduation? I am beginning to doubt the Journalism degree...maybe TV & Radio Arts-- which is still far from the tougher more in depth arena of Walter Cronkite's field.

    ReplyDelete
  59. themom: that brings up an interesting question.

Normally during a campaign, people from the candidate's past come out of the woodwork to share the limelight. Old College roomates are interviewed, professors etc ... with Sarah, I don't remember even one person talking about 'I knew her when..' ...... I thought it was unususal at the time, but now you have me thinking.

Doesn't anyone remember Sarah from the 'old days' ??? Didn't she participate in any College events? Friends? Did she really go to College, or was she just enrolled?

Anyone local to these colleges who could go and check out the graduates' lists?

  60. I agree with Archivist. I know Palinbots and George W. Bush lovers in real life. If anybody tries to tell them something negative about their heroes, they just brush it off as lies by the liberal media or even attacks by the devil. ( I'm not kidding about the attacks by the devil bit!)

I think Oprah is going to lose a great deal of credibility by going soft on Palin. She didn't need to be hostile, but it sounds as if Oprah ignored many legitimate questions that could be put to Palin.

How is pandering to Palin's idiot sheeple flock a shrewd decision on Oprah's part? Oprah has lost her edge and is simply going through the motions. Maybe it's time for her to retire.

Uhhh..careful there, Levi. If SP says, "We want to have you for Thanksgiving dinner," she may just mean it literally--flash back: Thanksgiving 2008--2 turkeys--ahhh!--remember?

Maybe you might have a less eventful Thanksgiving if you spent it with your dad and sister, huh?

Aren't you kinda the pot calling the kettle black.

Gryphen, Gryphen, Gryphen. You HAD her. She was right there in YOUR sights. In front of YOUR audience. Under YOUR control. You could have crushed her like a bug!

But no. You just let her slip right through your perfectly silent fingers. Where is your patriotism?

This same thing could be said for you Gryphen. Dont criticize others for doing exactly the same thing you do.

Gryphen has had his 15 minutes of credibility. Anyone here remember the
"It's official! Sarah and Todd Splitsville!" scoop?

Did you se what Conan did to Levi with a big assist from his hapless legal team? An apology? Hardly. It was a spanking.

I have no idea what you are implying when you talk about "competition". Letterman and Stewart are too smart to put Johnston
on their shows--as I said because nothing--nada, zip, squat--he has said has been corroborated.

Did you catch his telling gaffs when interviewed on some slimefest a week or two ago?

    Q. What does Sarah Palin have to be afraid of?

    A. (Johnston). Things I know. Things she knows. I don't know.

(The "I don't know was probably his most lucid moment to date.)

Then there was the real "gotcha"?

    Q. Why can't you see your son? (or something like that).

    A. "I've HEARD from friends of Bristol that it's because of Sarah." (or something like that.)

The kid who holds the hope of God-knows-how-many paranoids in his hands only has hearsay when it comes to a matter he is threatening to take to court.

Oh, yeah. This kid is a giant killer.

And one more thing. IF Johnston had any real information that could take out Palin and make him anything more than the 21st century's Kato Kalin, he would have major-league lawyers and reps lining up at his door to handle him.

Remember how quickly O.J. kicked Robert Shapiro to the curb for Johnny Cochran?

The fact that Johnston is still being represented by the lightweight he is and being trotted out for Playgirl tells you all you have to know. This is as good a sit gets. He is virtually defenseless now if he is defamed because at the very least, he's a public figure and he can't bring suit
because he would have to testify on the stand and no lawyer would want this kid with his frozen grin and shifty eyes put under cross.

He's a human anchor and when he his current counsel has milked the situation for all its worth, he'll drop him like a bad habit.

@1:32, you have been wrong with every prediction you've ever made on IM. How can you even comment here, after your predictions about NY-23? Remember when you said Hoffman would win? You'll be wrong about Levi, too. He will be on those shows. Wait and see. But you never admit you're wrong, so I don't expect you to show up and admit it here.

By the way, he's not trying to bring Palin down. He's trying to be an actor.

One of the biggest questions that defined the Katie Interview was the one regarding what she read
So if the interview didn't go well, according to Palin girl now...
Why did she spend so many months defending her answer on that one question that (along with a few others)
    basically defined the Interview.

She is NOW saying the interview didn't go well. Why did she tell everyone her answer to the What do you read question made perfect sense. That she answered it just fine and honestly. That she does read "everything" .. What's the big deal?
And about the Russia from my house... I never said that! This is what I did say She spent an awful lot of time defending that interview only now to say it was an awful interview
She truly does have a screw lose. Everything with that woman is spastic and just plain Odd.

  69. I really get tired off all these Anonymous messages without even the courtesy of signing a name at the end of the message.

C'mon, all you frequent commenters and occasional visitors, can you at least let us know who you are?

You can remain anonymous and still use a nom de plume. I do. Consistently doing so does provide a sense of identity and credibility. Anonymously slinging turds over the transom is cowardly and precludes you from being taken seriously. Adopt a moniker and stick with it or cease with the vitriol.

If you got criticism for Gryphen, at least be adult enough to stand behind your comments to some degree.

Archivist has an excellent point about people coming out of the woodwork.

One of the things which persuaded me that B Obama really could be POTUS was a segment of Charlie Rose the last night of the DNC. Mr. Rose had met a couple of women who'd gone to law school with Obama, and they spoke so eloquently about his talent, intelligence and skill.

I don't recall anything similar about SP, but if someone does in fact know of such a testimonial I'd be very interested to see/read it.

I will bet that Sarah's book will not be the Oprah book of month club selection. I think, the fact she didn't give the audience a copy says it all. $4.97 per person is not much in Oprah's world. But it is a "bitch slap" in Sarah's face.

    ReplyDelete
  73. MacAndCheeseWhiz7:24 PM

Oprah couldn't possibly interview Sarah as a viable political candidate- she lost the vp post to Biden, and quit as governor. So of course, she's giving a cotton candy hazed fluffernutter on white bread interview.

We all know Oprah threw her weight behind President Obama when he needed it the most, and for that alone, I admire her. As far as watching her show regularly, I usually don't, but I'll be tuned in just to see Sarah laugh, shoot word salad, stroke her own ego, squirm and gasp and grasp at staws. Purely mindless entertainment.

Yes, it's for ratings, and perhaps a nod to "bipartisanship" fairness - who knows? It may help the few who were on the fence about Sarah, to come to their senses.

  74. I believe that by having Palin on the show, even without asking 'tough' questions, Oprah shows Palin to be the nut case that she is. How could anyone listen to that snippet you provide and believe otherwise. Palin is digging her own political grave here and giving Oprah ratings at the same time.

Oprah was smart not to appear to 'attack' Palin as the other 'liberal media' has done; there is no need to push Palin; just show her as she really is, its more than enough for all but the most devoted followers...and they will never be convinced.

No, thank you, Gasman and KaJo. Gryphen has my support--and it is, after all, my choice to post comments anonymously.

The comments that you post, Gasman, reflect how informed and knowledgeable you obviously are. As a result, they would be easily recognizable even if you posted anonymously. Facts and truth are just that and stand on their own. If an anonymous poster gives an opinion, it is just that: their point of view and opinion of what is true for them. If it falls contrary to your, my, or someone else's truth then, it really doesn't matter what identity is attached.
