Correcting injustice in Wasilla.

When the whole debacle concerning Lanesia Garcia blew up last Wednesday I held off reporting about it because it just seemed kind of sudden.  So I reached out to Mercede to ask her if it was an accurate story, but she said she as confused as anyone.

By Friday the story was everywhere and of course my visitors were asking repeatedly why I did not post anything about it.  So I did, including the denial that Lanesia had provided to Mercede.

I wish I had waited a little longer.

The National Enquirer story was so detailed and potentially libelous that I found myself doubting Lanesia's denial at first.  I mean after gaining so much credibility exposing the John Edwards affair could the Enquirer really be so incredibly sloppy and vicious in reporting THIS story?

Later that same day we found out that they could indeed.

After I learned that the story was bogus I did what I could to get the truth out as quickly as possible.  As did Mercede.

However the scandal had gone viral by then, and it just kept getting bigger and bigger.  On Saturday the first corrections started to appear, but only because Lanesia went to the press to correct the story which she never should have had to do.

Lanesia of course is just the latest innocent bystander to get run over by the Palin fame mobile. Her only "crime" was to have once been friends with Bristol and to have had her boyfriend stolen by her.  And that was several years ago.

We may never learn exactly WHO told that terrible story to the National Enquirer reporter, or WHY, but there are some culprits who we can identify.

One is the reporter himself, Alan Butterfield, who spent over a week up here looking for dirt on Levi and Bristol and somehow got tricked into destroying a young girls reputation instead.

And the other is Levi's attorney Rex Butler.

ET quoted Mr. Butler as saying: "We spoke with this young lady personally to find out if her pregnancy had anything to do with Levi before the announcement of the engagement to Bristol. We did not want something like this to derail the marriage. She specifically told us no and that Levi had nothing to do with her baby. Someone waived a check under her nose and now she has come up with this opposite [scenario]...."

Well guess what? I contacted Lanesia to ask her if Butler had indeed talked with her about the rumor. Nope, never happened. Despite his quote to ET Rex Butler in fact NEVER spoke to Lanesia Garcia.

And as for his claim that "someone waived a check under her nose?"  That also never happened .

The National Enquirer only reported on rumors told to them by anonymous sources, not Lanesia herself.

As far as I can tell, Lanesia has a pretty good case of libel against the National Enquirer and reporter Alan Butterfield, and should, at the very least,  expect an apology and retraction from Rex Butler in the very near future.

By the way even though the Bristol/Levi engagement seemed to self destruct during this whole mess, there is now information to suggest that it was another, more recent, girl in Levi's life that caused Bristol to kick him to the curb. Of course based on what we have just learned from the National Enquirer kerfuffle, perhaps we all need to take that story with a large grain of salt as well.

    Tin foil hat on.

Methinks the National Enquirer-Lanesia story was planted by the Palin puppeteers to discredit the publication when the Trig Truth finally comes to light--and it WILL. Past stories in the Enquirer about Lady Whackadoo (her affair, marital problems, etc.) that were legit have been recently resurrected and I'm sure it's making the Palinites squirm like the worms they are. If they're EVER able to promote their Queen for a coronation--er--nomination, they want to be able to point to the Enquirer as an unreliable source based on that "Lanesia-Levi story."

It's a shame they have to ruin the lives of the "little people" to do it.

    Tin foil hat off.

The NE generally requires 3 people confirming the very same story before they will run an article. So, there may be someone collecting a check, but there are also 2 other people who have verified the "facts" of this story to the NE. And let's face it, if Palin (or someone else) did do a "payoff," that payoff would likely come with a no talk agreement. That, or there are just are a lot of trashy folks in Wasilla.

PS Don't they have condoms in Alaska?

Good grief! How irresponsible that any tabloid would put a story out there about a young girl, who has a child, who more than likely will hear the story about the mom some day. The statement that "Levi is one of three potentials..." is particularly damaging. I for one was shocked that she had supposedly been with three in one week - I wasn't the only one. Jaws were dropping all over the country with that one. Then find out it's all a lie.

I hope she sues the socks off of the NE and the reporter. Also hope that she doesn't go to Rex Butler for her legal advice. Poor kid.

All this over an 8th grade romance - 13 or 14 year old kids. And Levi and Lanesia are 19 or 20 now. 5 or 6 years ago! That's a bad case of jealousy on Bristol's part. Didn't Levi have a girlfriend in kindergarten? Maybe Bristol could freak out over that too. Geez.

Gryphen, good decision to not report any more rumors about Bristol and/or Levi.

  7. There is as quote in the first link of your commentary, If true, when/whom did Lanesia gave this info to?:

Here’s what Lanesia said at the time: “I didn’t believe it, I never dreamt she was capable of doing that to me. But when I called her she just said, ‘I’m so sorry, I couldn’t help it. Levi and I are together now and I think he’s the man for me.’ I put the phone down and have not talked to her since. I was distraught for a year – I missed Bristol desperately but also Sarah, who was like a second mom to me. Neither of them have tried to contact me, though – which says something about how ruthless they can be. The phrase Sarah used comparing herself to a lipstick-wearing pit bull is spot on.”

Come on, if this quote is true, these were young teenage girls. Why wouldn't Lanesia have moved on, grown up and made a life for herself?

Levi needs to cowboy up. Innocent women are being disparaged and he alone has the power to stop it.

I feel terrible for the invasion of privacy everyone piled on this poor innocent bystander.

Before all the Palin Sympathizers jump on to say this same shame and caution should be applied to Bristol, don't even start. She doesn't "pause" before she plays, in the bedroom or on any type of media set.

Hey, I just realized, she doesn't pause the way her mother doesn't blink. The Palin women are lacking some basic inhibition reflexes.

Back to the National Enquirer, this sordid rumor reported as fact scenario is not surprising, tabloids thrive on rumor and exaggerated innuendo, much like the Palin Family narrative. For such an unexceptional Family, they are legends in their own minds.

I'm only sorry they dragged this young woman in by name and humiliated her pending precious bundle of joy.

And not to pile it on, but what is it about Wasilla gals preggers so young? This place is the Bible Belt of Alaska and everyone is knockin boots before the nuptials. And baby daddy's are hard to identify. No one Family Plans.

Oh well, as the RNC says, "Life Happens."

I think this all boils down to Brevi not getting the goofy reality show momma Stupid promised them for their BS wedding.

No takers to front the cash for the show meant that Stupid had to find an out for her abstinent princess -- just like after the election.

    Lanesia was just collateral damage.

I understand that now that Lanesia has spoken up and defended herself, the blame for the Brevi breakup has fallen on some other girl. What's the deal with that Uncle G?

Why does the GOP stand back allowing Palin to be in the forefront representing them as the public increasingly finds her nqualified, an idiot, questionable character, ignorant to idiot?

Is this a strategy to let her have free reign to turn people off then move in when the time is right?

Re Lanesia: it is scary how easily people can destroy the character and reputation of someone's life and tarnish the lives of others with broadcast slander.

I hope that Lanesia or one of her friends will read the comments her. My advice: Get a very good lawyer. After the baby is born, Lanesia, boy friend and baby should take a DNA test and make a very big production about releasing the results...along with the demand for compensation from National Enquirer for ruining an innocent girl's reputation.

That might be a good time to make a public show of demanding that Bristol and Levi take a DNA test. Ever since Bristol hoped that Levi wasn't Tripp's father, that would imply that another guy could be a possibility.

There's no question that Sarah is behind all of this. She didn't want Levi back with Bristol. Look how she went after Trooper Wooten, even after he and Sarah's sister were divorced. When Sarah has revenge in mind, she operates on a scorched earth policy, leaving nothing standing.

  15. I feel pretty sorry for Levi. A REALLY good-looking kid with a permanent erection that he can't use, not that much brainpower, out of his depth in a car puddle, being used by everybody, including his lawyer and the lawyer's sidekick, to the point of abandoning his family.

And now, horror of horrors - his every move is being watched by the world and he can't lay any pipe at all without constant scrutiny and the girls are afraid to deal with him.

    tough life. Yep, tough life.

The Palins may be stupid, but one thing they've done successfully is implement Karl Rove's teachings. The essence of Rove's philosophy is to passionately and violently blame your enemy for doing something that you yourself are doing. This creates a shiny distraction and talking point that deflects attention from the evil things you yourself are engaged in. Also, it creates a smokescreen so people don't look so closely into what YOU are doing.

In this case, they've applied this yet again to dealing with Bristol.

Bristol has slept around. Bristol is currently pregnant. Probably isn't even sure who the father is.

So let's blame Lanesia or another girl for being pregnant and also say she is sleeping around with lots of people. Makes everybody look over THERE and not over here.

At the same time, release some archived photos of Bristol not looking quite as pregnant as she actually is right now.

    Fait accompli.

If Sarah had any class at all, she would make a statement of sympathy for Lanesia. That would give her a golden opportunity to bash the media. However, opportunistic Sarah doesn't have a shred of class or the ability to empathize with a young woman whose reputation has been tarnished.

Bristol could go a long way in improving her damaged image if she would express regrets that Lanesia had been trashed by this whole incident. However, being true to form, Bristol lacks an empathy gene and class.

Neither Bristol nor her mother, Sarah, understand how badly this makes them look. They are damaging what remains of their reputations and image. They are both distasteful, sad examples of womankind. As a woman myself, I cringe to think their behavior will reflect upon us all.

The press is most interested in making the news, not reporting the news. In the case of someone with the wherewithal to hire proper legal representation, I'm sure they make sure their ducks are a row. I'm sure in this case they crunched the numbers and felt they were going to come out ahead.

May Lanesia have some time to prepare for her new baby and enjoy a special and a wondrous life event.

No way should the NE and all the gamesters not pay for this atrocity. You can't get much lower than this. Was the overkill necessary at all? Two baby daddies is enough but three? An apology and retraction is absolutely what must be. Unfortunately, those things get little attention and hardly help. A child is going to grow up and by that time who knows what more manipulations the designers of this plot will have executed? If there is a law suit I would think NE would settle out of court. They have taken pains to try and earn respect and be credible. It is valid to learn how they were suckered into such an evil scheme. Is NE part of the criminal behavior? That also must come out. I wouldn't have a problem with settling out of court if the techniques and names of the scum is included. When a person is so deeply wronged and the damages to a child are incalculable a monetary compensation is deserved. Deserved but hardly all there. The truth of this story is vital. The snakes in the grass must be revealed. How many times have informants or rats done the despicable? They get by with that in Wasilla. If no one can stand up it will only get worse.

We are talking about political operatives. This is part of a campaign. Wasilla will let these perversions happen again? Over and over. It is vital to get to the truth.

I don't think there is a tin foil hat required to think that a misinformation campaign is underway....so far, we'll never believe Levi again since he's been discredited, the national enquirer has also been discredited, Lanesia, etc.,etc.

Why manipulate the media (especially TMZ, US and People!) unless you were hiding something. Or wanted to prevent the REAL story from coming out.

P.S. Bristol is a whirl wind of drama and bad decisions. Just like mama.

I still want to give the National Enquirer a benefit of a doubt. Their stories, although sensationalistic, are very carefully worded to avoid lawsuits.

I think the reporter talked to "someone" he THOUGHT was a reliable source, who had the influence to strong arm two other people into supporting her slander.

As for the Rex Butler statement, I am genuinely puzzled. He is not an idiot. Why would he release a public statement ("I personally spoke") that could be so easily refuted with just a phone call to the young lady???

P.S. I still get "Fedora Test Page" when I try to bring up Mercede's page.

I hope she and her mom get out of that community quick. Whatever kindness and honesty Wasilla used to have has been poisoned by SP and her enablers.

I was sorry to see Lanesia mud wrestle with Bristol by going to Us Magazine or which tabloid she used. She needs to be put in touch with the right legal pros. She does not have to take this crap at all or accept a half ass retraction. With decent legal reps she can fight this without having to go through total hell. More power to her if she only wants to go boardin' and work hard raising her child. She is also sitting on a fortune if she could tell her story. It sounds like most of it would be favorable towards Sarah the second mother. WTF happened?

It will effect a generation of Lanesia children and it stinks. The Wasilla thugs are only gaining more effectiveness. I would think a good mother would do all possible to protect the next generation from what we see is constantly repeated. Wooten was at least married to someone in the family. What if Willow has a middle school friend and there is more jealousy? It might be a good thing Piper isn't in school and forming healthy childhood relationships. I don't believe the Palins will stop with Wooten, Sherry, Mercede and Lanesia. Get ready for the next one. There are more people to destroy in Wasilla.

Correcting injustice in Wasilla? That will not happen. Palin will win as she always does in Wasilla. She can count on the people of Wasilla never change. They may hate her now but they will repeat the same old mistakes.

Sarah Palin is only one bad actor in this drama. The entire GOP is on the line when it comes to political campaigns. There are Republicans that hate Sarah but don't want to give up their beloved party or expose any of the corruption. The other blog that knows more of the actors who have the dirt must get the show on the road so to speak. Are they holding back because they don't want to reveal sources? If the sources are part of their dysfunctional family that is getting mighty sticky. I have no doubt that Sarah has all the scoop on them but if they have an ounce of decency they will go with the truth and no more delay. As enablers they are all guilty of the crimes against children and the innocent like Lanesia. No one can even tell us what has happened to the different Trigs. No one knows if the "one Trig" has proper care. Is there a dead baby? If another child were to die or irreparably harmed that is blood on the enablers as well as Sarah and the GOP.

I saw McCain on TV this morning and I'm furious. Too much to go into but he casually stated something about Iraq attacking us. Like it is common knowledge we had to invade to prevent an attack? Of course, his whole gig was to attack our President. With his credentials he is the military expert.

First we're told the engagement is off because Bristol's ex was pregnant with what could be his child. Then the ex comes out right away and says no, so suddenly the engagement is off because of something another of Levi's exs said. Both smokescreens to obscure whatever is the true reason for the broken engagement. I've no doubt that the Palin Machine was behind the fake story in the Enquirer; they were caught by surprise when the story was refuted so quickly, so went to plan B.

The ironic thing is that both stories make Bristol look like a jealous bitch, believing the worst and blaming Levi because of something someone else said. That is such typical psychotic controlling behavior. One sick puppy, just like her mama.

So what I want to know is, what's the REAL story behind the breakup? Did Levi discover B is preggers again?

LOL, he's only taking from the Sarah Palin playbook, LIE LIE LIE - just flat out baldfaced lie to the press with confidence and it's all good. Sharon Angle and Fox News pundits do it all the time. Rex is simply a flashy attorney out of his depth. How's that family law thingy workin out for you Levi?

Sarah did the same thing when asked by ADN reporter Kyle Hopkins what she was doing to address the food and fuel crisis in her Lower Yukon villages.

She stated factually that she held a teleconference that very morning with invited Emmonak and other Lower Yukon leaders and NO ONE SHOWED UP to participate. She also said she offered to 'go out there' and no one was taking up her offer. So you see, it was the distressed region's fault that nothing was happening. . .that's what a good Chief Executive does. . .throw up your hands when your city offices are shuddered because they can't afford to keep the lights and heat on and pay the staff.

Meanwhile, her spokesperson, Sharon Leighow reported to the press that very same morning that the Governor had no plans to visit the stricken region.

There was never any communication from the Governor's office to the city of Emmonak or tribal leadership until her big Franklin Graham publicity stunt a few weeks later. And it wasn't even to the highlighted village of plight - the chicken$hit went to two other Yukon communities, Russian Mission and Marshall instead.

If the Valley can't even get to what happened when Track and Willow vandalize how are they going to handle the damage to Nesia's unborn? Is it new that the Palin friends are the ones to get the brunt of smears? When you look back at what happened to the Johnstons and Nesia that will pale in comparison to what is to come. It is impossible to take Sarah down and it will be too late anyway. Timing is crucial. You can only wait for the next victim to be sacrificed. IMO it is just starting.

It was said Willow attacked a family friends house. $30,000.00 in damages may seem small and it didn't destroy a mother and baby. The point is that it is the people that are closest to a Palin that will get burned in the worst possible way. How is poor Ben Barber doing? Is he under a fleet of buses yet? He continues to be close to Track and Todd. Why is that? The dear and close family with the $30,000.00 in damages are Palin best friends. These people work together to "protect" what it is they protect. What are the chances that Nesia could be different? She may not be invited to dinner at Casa Palin but she is probably of the same mentality and politics, in that Levi way of not being political. Nesia was wronged and she will want some compensation or correction. She will do it like the close family whose house was vandalized. It will happen in secret and they will work a deal to protect the good Palin name. That is how it is in Wasilla.

“We have a very particular system that is probably more elaborate than any other newspaper or magazine in America,” he says. “We have a battery of devices available to us, and I’ll use as many or all that I feel necessary to bring in a story.”
Here, as best as I can outline it, is the range of fact-checking and verification devices used by the National Enquirer.
    Polygraphs and Private Eyes
    Independent Corroboration
    Polygraphs
    Affidavits and Recordings
    Legal Vetting
    Investigations of Sources
    Traditional Fact-Checking

Gryphen, here's an interesting article. It appears Bristol is trying to get her spin out ahead of Levi.

Personally, I think Levi was the one who was played. He lost all credibility with his "apology" to Sarah and Todd.

The Palin Team seems to be in high gear discrediting anyone with potential damaging goods on them.

This is an AP article of Brisol dumping Levi.

"Palin, 19, says the relationship soured on July 14, the very same day they announced their marriage intentions to the world. Palin says he told her that evening he might have fathered a baby with another teenage girl. (Palin did not name the young woman, but a pregnant former girlfriend of Johnston's has since publicly denied his paternity.)"

Bristol will never have to mention the name of the slut that Levi said he knocked up. Levi is done. Who would want to hear his version of things now? Prayers are answered in Sarahville. Great plan, it worked. Bristol is home free. Lanesia is looking like she was the money grubber and she did talk to the Enquirer. No reason for her guilty ass to ask for a retraction. Everyone was played.

As for their 19-month-old son Tripp, Tank tells us Levi will continue to co-parent with Bristol and "take care" of his financial obligations.

I guess they are back to the September court date?

On Lanesia and Sarah, I'm not sure what these kids expect Sarah to do about it. She can't very well be a "second mom" to someone her kid doesn't get along with. That's just ludicrous. She probably doesn't care, but the ball is in Bristol's court.

Sarah leads by example that is what she does. I don't know Lanesia's "first mom." Only hope she was a better example. Sarah was "second mom" until mean girl Bristol tricked and dumped Lanesia, next she grabbed the red truck stud the first time. If Lanesia doesn't want to do a book I hope she finds a good periodical publication. Her stories would be mostly favorable towards her "second mom" and help shed light on what happen later as well.
