Sarah Palin's endorsement bankrupts both Karen Handel's campaign as well as the RNC.

I can't believe that bitch suckered me like that!
According to Atlanta Journal Constitution being one of Sarah Palin's "Mama Grizzlies" has put Karen Handel's campaign in the poorhouse:

Karen Handel, the former secretary of state whom Deal beat in the Aug. 10 Republican runoff, spent more than $100,000 to bring Sarah Palin to town to campaign on her behalf.

But it came at a high cost. Handel’s campaign spent more than $100,000 for the visit by Palin, the former governor of Alaska and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate.

Handel’s campaign paid an Ohio jet charter service nearly $92,000 and her latest campaign finance report shows it was for the Palin event. Handel also paid an additional $13,000 in expenses to the InterContinental Hotel in Buckhead for the event.

Handel’s quarterly report shows her campaign committee to be $28,000 in debt, with another $55,000 in outstanding expenses.

Holy crap! A private plane for $92,000 AND an additional $13,000 for expenses!  How much do bendy straws cost in Georgia anyhow?

And what did Handel get for that $100,000 dollars?  Not a hell of a lot apparently.  In fact she lost her primary despite being touted as one of Palin's "Mama Grizzlies."

I am amazed that people have not yet caught on to the game that Sarah Palin is playing.

Even the RNC still has not recognized that a Sarah Palin endorsement comes at a terrible cost:

The RNC has come up $3.8 million short of its money-raising target for September and well over $5 million shy for the past two months, RNC Treasurer Randy Pullen said in private e-mail to members of the RNC's Executive Committee.

The disappointing donation figures were reported despite Mrs. Palin's signature of a mass fundraising appeal in September that was expected to boost the RNC's cash intake to at least the recently revised, more modest goals. The Palin letter was as part of a deal involving the RNC's agreement to pay more than $250,000 of her defense fees related to lawsuits filed when she was governor, as The Times first reported last month.

So apparently Sarah Palin refuses to help the RNC unless they pay her legal bills first, and then when she finally gives in and agrees to sign the fundraising letter they end up 3.8 million in the hole.

You know if the Republicans had just taken the time to come over and visit this blog every once in awhile, they would have learned what I have been telling people for over two years now, which is that EVERYTHING Granny Grifter touches turns to shit!

Hey, I am just here to help.  All anybody has to do, is listen.

Sarah said she did not need any fancy "slipper and robe" hotels.

    Chalk up another lie.

Hope she bankrupts a few more R's

    Gryphen,

Handel lost the primary, that's what she got for the $100k plus for Palin's plane and hotel rooms. Thought you'd want to know so you can correct the line you have about her being tied with her opponent.

  3. Handel(we don't do(uppity) tea) didn't even make it out the starting gate, Deal beat her. Deal is now under scrutiny for being in financial crises, he can't pay back 2.5 million in loans, (smile) He is in the process of trying to sell his assets including his home, to dodge foreclosure and bankruptcy. (very long story)

The reason why the RNC is broke is that the morality-free repubs are going around the law that governs political contributions and raising funds anonymously. The Koch brothers and Karl Rove are examples. The Koch brothers may have funded Scott Brown's win? in MA and Joe Miller's claim to a primary victory in Alaska,

Actually I think it's funny how all these supposed "smart" Repubs are getting fleeced by Palin. So I say keep it up, Sarah, take ALL their money. I say that because I think money will be the thing that eventually makes some people back away from her like poison. Common sense and intelligence certainly has not made a dent. So screw them, lose your money because at some point Palin will become not worth a cent.

$arah gets her bills paid. Sometimes the same bills get paid over and over and over... Keep donating to her, palinpuppets. She needs your cash to feel loved.

These endorsement and speaking gigs seem to be incredibly lucrative for Sarah. She's basically a hired gun, for the highest bidder. And on top of that, some of them have a quid pro quo, as you showed with Miller.

So what's the incentive to drop all this and start up a campaign for president? A campaign for herself will be expensive, and will suck up her savings account like a hoover vacuum. Just ask Hillary how much it cost her. I just don't see it.

I'm curious to know though, where Sarah is putting all this money. If she ran for any public office at all, she would have to disclose which companies she's invested in, and show her tax return.

Handel lost to Deal in the Republican Party run-off here in August. Deal is running against Roy Barnes, a democrat, and John Monds, a Libertarian. The corrupt Deal is leading Barnes in the polls even after it was revealed that he has around $5 million in personal and business debts that he can't pay.

Deal and his wife started a business with one of their daughters and a son-in-law, Clint Wilder. Wilder filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and the petition was granted. It was discovered last month that Wilder violated the bankruptcy law because he had also filed for bankruptcy in 2001. Deal claimed he knew nothing of his SIL's prior bankruptcy.

Well, it is being reported today that, after a federal bankruptcy judge reviewed the case, he is revoking the Wilders' bankruptcy. The federal lawyer in the case says that Deal should have been identified as a co-debtor on the bankruptcy petition. Uh,uh. It'll be interesting to see how Deal spins this one because he stated previously that he would not be filing for bankruptcy.

Many republicans are still voting for him during the early voting period because they say they will vote for anyone except a "demoncrat." When his financial difficulties were first revealed, Deal spun it as an attempt to help his daughter to encourage voters to have sympathy for him and his situation, ie, the Christine O'Donnell "I'm just like you" bit. Yeah, right. These folks say one thing and do something entirely different. They say they're Christians and support high moral values, but they vote for Deal knowing he is corrupt and in deep financial doo doo. This is one reason that I've learned not to take anything they say seriously. They're among the most hypocritical people in America.

You gotta wonder just how desperate Handel was to agree to such a lose/lose situation. She lost the runoff and lost her $$ (maybe her mind, too)

  13. When you see Sarah Palin, sing her theme song

    "I'm a Hustler, Baby!"

    I'm a hustler baby!
I just want you to know
    It aint where I been
But where I'm bout to go.
Now I just wanna love you
    But be who I am
    And with all this cash
    You'll forget your man.
    Now give it to me!

Yeah, now we know why her endorsements had no rhyme or reason...establishment pick here, anti-establishment pick there; ivy league pick here; college dropout there...

If the media does their work on this, I think they'll find one of three common denominators: money, fancy lodgins', or a future endorsement.

Mudflats also raises a good point, which is, why didn't Sarah's PAC pick up the expenses, since that's what it's designed to do?

Also, another thing I learned while reading some links, and I posted this also on the miami convention thread a page back, that when Sarah came to South Florida, she didn't stay in Miami, she stayed in Palm Beach:

    http://www.page2live.com/2010/10/07/sarah-palin-in-west-palm-beach-ill-run-for-president-if-the-american-people-want-me-to/

Let me clarify, even though the article speaks of WPB, the Breakers is actually in Palm Beach, and some of the guests hailed from Palm Beach. Palm Beach is one thing - old money.

This was the real reason for Sarah's SoFla trip, not the convention. I mean, I guess I could have figured that out, because Northern/Central Florida is her turf, like when she had her book signing. But why come to more liberal, more culturally diverse, (and hotter) South Florida? It initially surprised me. Even I could have driven 30 minutes to see her at a few dollars a pop. Well, now we know.

Anonymous @ 4:57 A.M., while I don't necessarily think Palin is going to run since she's too thin-skinned, her ego is going to be leaning heavily towards going forward no matter what the polls say. She won't see or hear the real results. In her mind, she'll hear "run, $arah, run" and pretend she's doing it because of a "servant's heart".

The one thing I don't think $arah will ever do is dip into her own pockets to pay for her campaign in any way. This is a woman who is still begging some of her minimum wage earning supporters for money to pay her legal fees. In my estimation, the money from the RNC and the legal defense fund took care of all of what was owed, but she'll never admit to that. $arah is a greedy bitch and she's cheap. Why would Bristol say she couldn't afford to go to college last year when her mother is a millionaire. Notice that I don't say parents, because I'm sure that incoming money is $arah's, not $arah & Toad's. Money will be her downfall, she already looked bad in taking money from the RNC and now with ruining Handel's campaign, she's revealing a side that her supporters haven't seen. It won't sink in with the die-hard 'bots, but those "R's" that are supporting her or say they approve of her, won't approve of her manipulative means of gathering all the $$$ she can before her time is up in the spotlight.

$arah definitely doesn't want to disclose her tax returns, no friggin' way is she going to do that! It will be a sharp contrast to her alleged "poor us" days during the 2008 campaign and she wants to keep that image that she's like the "real 'murkans" and not an east coast elitist.

  17. This blows the myth of Sarah doing this from a "servant's heart".

Does anyone have facts of what a private jet from AK to GA costs? Or was the expense for that trip and compensation to Palin for other air travel i.e. under the table payment? By orchestrating that groups pick up expenses for Palin she can maintain she did not receive any compensation maintaining a narrative she works tirelessly all for the good of AK or the country. The Palin camp can then control the appearance of things and manipulate reality all in her favor.

I doubt the majority of people have an issue with people making money. The issue is making it and lying pretending to be a low income or average income person or lying you fish for your family income. Bristol's pretense she is the sole supporter, bought a condo, car, filled her condo with material items on an office assistant's pay to grandiosely distort self to be amazing.

    Anon 2:36 said it clearly:
Chalk up another lie. (and another, and another....)

Sarah sspins her web of deception to control personal fiction that she gives of herself and takes nothing in return.

I don't believe she is as powerful nor as big a money draw in reality and this is another grossly exaggerated load of crap.

It will be interesting to learn what other campaigns paid for her servant's heart endorsements.

OT-I read when Britol gives her speech about her teen pregnancy she has ben trained and effectively delivers the "lamestream media" bashing.

Sayrah you screwed up on your words and spelling again, you don't got a "servant's heart", the word is serpent.

Serpent is a word of Latin origin (from serpens, serpentis "something that creeps"

And that fits the creepy crawley slimy Sarah to a T!

I have the same question as a couple of other posters. How many times over is she going to get those "legal fees" paid? Then what happens to what money is left over? Into Sarah's bank account? How much $$$ does she need anyway?

well I bet handel won't make that mistake again, will she? I lol at this, though. it just shows how stupid handel is.

so palin isn't bringing in the dough to the rnc that they thought she would, huh? well what a f-ing shocker. it's not like that wasn't predicted on this blog and elsewhere.

sarah, you're not good enough for america and you never will be.

Having and keeping Tripp cost Bristol more than we can imagine. When I look at what many kids do with their lives after high school, college — travel, lifelong dear friends, etc. I am profoundly sad for Bristol. She came from a very provincial and incurious family and is paying a very steep price. I think Bristol's gig on DWTS is the life Sarah saw for herself. Politics was a stage. Sarah can memorize her lines but she can't quite understand the script. Bristol is a casualty of Sarah's and Todd's poor parenting. I think Sally and Chuck do have sweet hearts and the kids benefit from this mightily.

Maybe Palin will just bankrupt all her gullible supporters, eventually. If these rubes would only do a little checking into the PACs she aligns herself with, they'd think twice before handing over their money.

Case in point: Combat Vets for Congress. If you look at their PAC statements on fec.gov, you will see that they hardly give anything to candidates, but rather, spend most of their money on things like "printed invitations" and "marketing" and "web consulting." This group was formed last year, and best I can tell, for the purpose of hosting two events, the most recent with Palin.

Another shell group to raise money for her speeches? Probably, as well as to funnel money to a few other grifters, too.

I really wish the media would take a long, close examination of all these rightwing PACs. I honestly think most of them are solely for the purpose of secretly getting a lot of people very, very rich. It's a shell game, period.

Very, very interesting. So basically, no SP visit = Handel's campaign wouldn't be in the hole, whether or not she'd won. Seems like after a few early successes, an SP endorsement is turning into the kiss of death. Couldn't happen to a more deserving person.
