Just for fun, here is part of Bristol's appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show today. Update!
First I need to say that I agree with Bristol's assessment of Levi's interest in politics and his ability to run for public office.
Visually the clip also seems to provide further evidence of the phenomena that we have all been watching since the beginning of the show.
I have begun to try and understand just how Bristol could have been convinced to go on DWTS. But all I can come up with is that she was either forced at gunpoint or somehow believed that Hollywood magic would cover up what nature was doing to her physique.
I also have to wonder if she was not counting on being voted off well before she got to this stage, and whether the Palin-bots are actually working against her personal wishes.
What do you all think?
Update: Even DWTS's executive producer realizes that it is Sarah's political supporters keeping Bristol on long past when she should have been voted off.
"There's a strong popular movement behind Sarah Palin at the moment and she's receiving a lot of support from the Tea Party," Conrad Green, executive producer of the program, said in an interview. "It's entirely possible some of those people are behind Bristol for political reasons."

ReplyDeleteI think she comes across as sincere in interviews when she says she is enjoying herself. I also think the momentary mini breakdown she had last week just means she's like any other contestant. Most of the others had already had their distressing moments. I'm still not on the PG train with you all, as there is the prelim physical the contestants endure for starters. I think the one absolutely sincere thing to come out of Sarah's mouth is her stating that Bristol said "I'm gonna get criticized no matter what I do. I may as well dance"
ReplyDeleteIf she had stayed silent after the election and worked her desk job, she'd still be living at home, she still would have dumped Levi, and we all would still speculate about her love life and family life. You know it would've all happened. Track and Willow has chosen the non-public route, yet people still speculate about their lives. Piper is living a carefree, normal life yet we continue to drag her into discussions and comments.

And if the standard was set in having a Hockey Mom being able to 'run' the city, I think a hockey player famous for impregnating said Mayor's daughter is just as qualified. At least he didn't hop around to four different high schools to have his graduate dreams thwarted by his girlfriend intentionally getting pregnant.
It must be nice to be a Palin and be able to use the most visible and one-sided medium to humiliate and slam people who don't have the same kind of resources to defend themselves.

I have to agree with Bristol's assessment on Levi. But that's not really why you posted this is it? I'm really not trying to sound mean, but seriously if that girl isn't preggers, she needs to see a doctor about whatever is causing her to look so huge. She is retaining fluid or gaining weight systemically. Wow, the camera doesn't add that much weight, week after week!!

I, for one love the fact that the bots are keeping her on. Just check out tweets, celeb gossip sites, and photo websites like x17, zimbio, and hollywood.tv, and read the comments. Everyone remarks about Bristol's weight and liklihood of pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteWhat is more fascinating is that not one of these sites or gossip rags will state the obvious, not a single one. Every other "star" is on the cover of magazines with a side bump MUCH smaller than Bristol's with headlines like:BEYONCE &JAY-Z PREGNANT,
MARIAH'S CARRYING TWINS, A LITTLE SISTER FOR SURI (Cruise), BRANGELINA BROOD TO GROW, etc. You get it...other celebs have menstrual bloat and are tagged as pregnant, Bristol literally gets bigger every week, and crickets.
I am going to watch Ellen today.
Hey Bristol, I think Levi is more aware of what he is getting into running for Mayor than your mom ever did unblinkingly and with her gutteral instinct in accepting the VP nod. What with her glaring inadequacies, qualifications and skeletons in her closet and whatnot.

ReplyDeleteIf it turns out that she is expecting a child, which is looking likely, they will treat it as just another publicity stunt. There has been no reason, that this family has seen, that there will be any ramifications for anything they do. I think, though, that they underestimate the general public because they only choose to see themselves through the eyes of their supporters. For most people, this would be another example of the true nature of who these people are (they are a tribe, now, it's not just about SP anymore, as much as they may like think it is.)

Why isn't Bristol pursuing more education? It is obvious that she needs it. She has no talent as a public speaker, a dancer, or an actress. She didn't stay in her menial job as receptionist long enough to garner any real skills.

1) I love Ellen but she needs to wise up: being the mayor of Wasilla is NOT an important position. Didn't they interview the woman who was mayor after Crazy, and she only worked a few days a week? Levi knows as much about politics as Crazy did when she was mayor.

I would never categorize Levi as a class act, but compared to Bristol, he does come across as a little more careful about he talks about her. So sad. These folks present a picture of the American people that is shameful - petty, ignorant, money-grubbing. Bristol should be on Jerry Springer, not Ellen.

She might not think Levi isn't right or ready for running for office (the very office her sainted mother held, after all), but does she have to voice her opinion in such a snarky way?

I keep hoping Bristol will show some personal growth - start acting and speaking as if she has finally decided to grow up and move on. But no, she seems quite content on using the spotlight to showcase her dysfunctional and sad little life.
She must think she is just fine, but if she knew how many people are either feeling pity or laughing at her arrogant pretenses, well, she'd think twice before displaying herself like a sideshow freak.

I strongly disagree with Anon9:24am - none of the Palin kids have "carefree, normal" lives.
Other politicians kids are kept out of the glare of national politics, but not in Palinworld - they are used as political props - accessories to their crazy mom's clawing after money and fame - like a designer handbag or shoes.
I wish all the Palin's a long life; maybe a decade or two from now, after therapy or finally deciding they are damn tired of lying for their mom, we will hear the true story of damage their narcissistic mother had on their lives.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but when she breathes, when she's sitting there on the couch w/Mark, it seems like she is breathing UP, like she cannot breath normally, like there's a huge GROWTH (or a tight girdle/Spanx) that is keeping her from belly breathing like normal unpregnant people do.

Answer seems obvious. And if she ISN'T pregnant, one would think that DWTS or Bristol would put out a statement explaining her medical condition that has everyone speculating that she is pregnant yet still on DWTS.

It's Ben Barber's, is my guess, and her plan to ensnare Levi, as her mother ensnared Toad for Curtis Menard's baby, didn't work.
She was forced into it by her mother, who was not happy about another pregnancy IMO. She planned to hide Bristol afterwards. Then Bristol started to have a bit of fun, & the costume designers did a great job.

ReplyDeleteI'm convinced that the whole purpose of Bristol's appearance as a contestant on DWTS is because she IS pregnant.
Bristol is proving to the world (which except for blogs like this one, are too polite, chickenshit, and/or brainwashed to notice that she is actually doing anything but) that if she can successfully conceal a pregnancy for weeks on end while dancing on the #1 prime time TV show, then her mother could have successfully concealed her pregnancy with Trig despite all the evidence to the contrary.
This is all about making fools of Gryphen, Palingates, and all the other Trig hoax promoters.
Bristol IS pregnant, that is plain to be seen, especially in this clip, in which her belly noticeably protrudes, her face is very full, and her chin is very double.
Anyone claiming that dancing isn't strenuous is full of shit, and obviously a troll. There's only one explanation for Bristol's weight gain, and they know it.
This all about the money. She could have easily faked an injury if she really wanted to leave. Mommie probably told her she's cut off after getting KU'd again
ReplyDeletei like ellen, though i don't watch her show. i do think it unfair of her to bring up levi and have multiple pictures of him on the set when levi can't even comment. isn't there enough to ask bristol, or did ellen panic when she was getting one word, monosyllabic answers? it just seems mean-spirited.

Can I just say that, as a woman who spent years in L.A., Bristol is nothing there. There are so many women who are gorgeous there--and not just the plastic ones who have had surgery. The stars in entertainment are thin and have gorgeous skin and radiant teeth. Often, they are educated, sophisticated, smart and charming. The movie stars I have known through work certainly were. Honestly, I don't think Bristol has a career ahead of her in entertainment. She's missing three basics: looks, talent, and personality. How can an agent sell her? She can't act, sing or dance.

That's not right either...but to think a mayor of such a small entity as Wasilla (and with what little is actually on that mayor's plate), there's really no reason to imagine even a yahoo like Levi couldn't do the job.....
She didn't speak ill of Levi. He commented the same thing about her mother. and yes he has dissed her in saying in response to her Oprah appearance that she looks like she had work done. Same difference. He has no idea what he's getting himself into. That's really all she said. Was it classless for Ellen to essentially agree? Be objective.

Why not ask how the custody arrangement has worked with Tripp spending so much time in LA? Why not ask her about the Homer incident or why she used her friends facebook page to lash out at Mercede?

and for your information, Wasilla is still a town and all towns need competent people running them. In 2008, Colleen Cottle did say something to the effect of "I vote against her on mostly everything, but Sarah got things done" google it

ReplyDeleteEllen asks Bristol if her mom's fans are voting for her, no real answer. Bristol is wearing a blazer over two shirts, stretch pants, and knee high boots. When she sits, she doesn't cross her legs and has noticeably deeper breathing. When Bristol gets up to dance, you can see the bulge...conclusion, this was inconclusive, but Bristol's face looks exceptionally more swollen.

I don't get why Levi is constantly trashed. The kid is 20 years old! Just because he knocked his high school girl-friend up, doesn't make him trash - at least any more than it makes the girl-friend. He's obviously more intelligent than Sarah and Bristol. He has a conscience. He tried to step up to his responsibilities until Big Mama's private vendetta/agenda got in the way and broke the two kids up. He's apparently paying child support or we'd be hearing about it on Sarah's facebook, twitter and FauxNoise appearances. He has NEVER, even one time dissed Bristol publicly. NEVER. She and Sarah don't miss a chance to ridicule him.

Levi's detractors are forgetting that he lived with one of the greatest political minds of the century. If Levi is half as smart as we think he is, he'll follow Sarah's lead: hire a city manager to do the actual work, then spend your days watching soaps on the couch.
ReplyDeleteI doubt DWTS has a doctor on staff who performs the physical. All they probably ask for is a letter from the contestant's physician because it releases them from any liability when someone gets injured.
ReplyDeleteLet's say they actually ask the female contestants at the start whether they are pregnant. If the contestant says no, that would be the end of it. I can't see them forcing a pregnancy test--talk about a lawsuit!
DWTS may have thought this scenario/drama could be good for ratings and have something to do with keeping her on longer than she thought she would be. As far as the Palins go, I think that they continue to see themselves as the Untouchables and think that people buy their versions of themselves once any transgressions are revealed. They are clueless that some people think for themselves and don't unquestioningly believe what people tell them. I think that her support has maxed and she can't get endorsed by any party other than the tea party. Maybe we'll see the "Ralph Nader effect" in the next election (although Ralph would have made a great prez.) After that, she'll fade into obscurity, although fighting it and squeezing it for every last penny she can convince people to throw her way.

I think the Palins are aware that there is a sucker born every minute. Sarah would have a more difficult time coming off as a girl from the back woods of Alaska just trying so hard. It works for Bristol and it will rub off on Mama Grizzly. She's just a good old gal that works hard, too, check out how she does research at home in spite of mean old media types. Bristol doesn't need to be a mean girl now they have worked that out with Levi. She can have another friend do the ugly put downs and attacks in other ways against Levi. Say sweet bff April Morlock for instance. Bristol the graduate! When Tripp researches the archives he will love how she is learning to talk about his dad.

I have seen the release forms the contestants have to sign, and if anyone of those girls turned up pregnant DWTS could sue them for tons, and they would forfeit their paycheck. The physicals alone are enough.

Bristol's problem from what I hear by some who work on the show is that she eats like a freaking cow. Thats right, she can't stop. Being away from home and her "regular" job means she can eat out all day long, in between meals and also eats in the middle of the night. Her bag always has junk food in it.

ReplyDeleteLevi hasn't been in school since 2007. He's had that long to get his GED - something the mostly severe ADD patient could do. He chose to continue his ride on the Palin coattails. He chose to mock his almost mother in law when she initially supported him publicly and said he was finishing school. Levi's bitter because Bristol dumped him and had no vested interest probably from the start. He's almost worse than the most bitter girlfriend. Im not saying pursuing hollywood is bad. Most people out there come from nothing and Levi certainly didn't come from a strong family environment.
He's making a mockery of the position solely based on his past performance. I'm glad he's finishing his high school education and aspiring to things beyond playgirl but he's hardly the barely legal lad to successful in pursuing even the most lax of mayoral jobs. Levi - get experience that's not attached to someone else's life. Run for council. Volunteer for good organzations.Take public speaking classes.

When was that conversation between April Morlock and Bristol? I know for a fact that Morlock can be every bit as rude and crude as mean girls Bristol or Sarah. She did graduate on time and she can spell better.
Is Morlock in school or what kind of job does she have that she can take off work? Does her family have a lot of money like the Palins? Morlock and Ivy Frye are sitting on a block buster book, Bristol must be sweet as saccharin to her.
Poor Ellen. Portia just came out with her heartfelt story and the Hollywood weight thing and women. I don't think Ellen would want to bring up anything that touchy with Bristol. I'm disappointed that she would book her at all, but it is business. What is she going to say to her? The routine about Levi is probably about all they would allow.
ReplyDeleteLevi is "running for office" is part of selling a reality show. If he won Mayor of Wasilla that would just be extra icing on the cake and he could prove how difficult the job really is. They do have tension between them but Bristol is in on the gag and using it for her material. It may be tacky to go there with Tripp's baby daddy but it is softening her up. She and April Morlock would like a show to feature what a great mother she is to Tripp and ....

Scottsdale makes sense. I knew a lady that was in public relations there. Bristol could easily do a reality show from Arizona. She and Tripp have signed on with an agent and there is a rumor she will move to LA. That could be to distract from a move to Scottsdale with April Morlock. Where she would love to be with all the Alaskan friends that have transplanted. She is a love/hate momma girl and it could all be rumors. ReplyDeleteI find it fascinating that for 7 weeks people have been saying that bristol is pregnant, yet screecher hasn't taken to twitter to denounce everyone. why is that? why hasn't the quitter proudly proclaimed that bristol is being attacked because of her weight? very, very unusual for sarah to not jump to the defense of one of her cubs and miss an opportunity to denounce the "haters."
thinking back to the july engagement fraud... at first I thought that bristol & sarah pulled one over on levi, but now I am starting to think that levi agreed to it - for a payoff of course. we haven't heard anything about levi getting a job - where's he getting money to live? last paying gig was engagement fraud and prior to that it was playgirl a year ago. yep, I suspect levi agreed to be the fall guy for bristol's new kid.

DWTS would have medical exams. It is obvious there is a health problem with Bristol, mental health also. The DWTS show could exacerbate an eating disorder and cause her to go off the deep end with something that could be life threatening. Why aren't the doctors doing anything about that?

DWTS may have had her sign off on the eating disorder problem or a pregnant problem. She could be both with an eating disorder and child. Either way that show is known to be crap now that they are making a spectacle of someone with issues. They are not Sally Jesse Raphael. They are a fake competition.
I fault Ellen for asking the question about Levi running for mayor. Every interview -- same question; same answer. Why not ask how the custody arrangement has worked with Tripp spending so much time in LA?

The film as is now gives a very restricted view of the interviewees, one can judge nothing from it. It seems odd that they got rid of the other footage.

It's funny how Bristol acts like she hates the paparazzi and yet it's likely she lets them know where she'll be. Urth Cafe is a great place (best coffee I've ever had, organic food, etc.) but the paps don't just hang out there and they certainly don't wait around for celebrities at MacDonald's.

Every woman on my Dad's side of the family had the same body type. They all gained weight in the torso and had the skinniest arms and legs.
My mother-in-law and her sisters gained all their weight below the waist. Big hips, butt and thighs. Very small above waist.

I was pretty much convinced last week with the pictures, her inability to keep up in her dance, and the body language from her partner (awkward belly hold) and super-supportive back-stage, like everyone's resolved to it (who can be unfrienly to a pregnant woman). It will be interesting it plays out... hard to lose to a pregnant woman, too. But we know that there will be only happy faces from her family (except behind closed doors), probably a few "I'm so proud of Bristol"s will be issued, too.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was a dancer all through high school and college. At their final show, they did high kicks, spins, Texas jump splits. One of her teammates shocked the group by delivering a full term baby four months later. Granted, it was her first (cough cough), but it is possible to dance while pregnant. HERE is an example of a Texas jump split; this girl is not my daughter's teammate, but she demonstrates the move quite well.

ReplyDeleteI just watched her on Ellen - the full interview. Sweet lord that child is not at all talented. Ballas says how much she's improved but i don't see it at all. She can shimmy her shoulders a little then throws one arm up and that's it. No rhythm at all, no flow to the moves. It's just sad.

After tonight's DWTS installment, I am still convinced that she is pregnant. As I read the comments and saw that someone asked why they always ask Bristol about Levi, I thought "It's probably because Bristol sets the guidelines and says that that is the only topic she will address." It's safe and keeps the attention off of her.

So, if she talks about his potential reality show about running for office -- even if she says negative things -- that will drive up the number of viewers. The more viewers Levi gets, the more money. The more money he earns, the more she gets from him as child support.

Face it Bristol ain't that great at DWTS. Sure she shakes her teets and dry humps... As for dance steps with slight grace or slight mastery, not so much.
I found it amazing the DWTS contestants were expressing hard work, wanting to master steps, push themselves to new self limits, then there is Bristol talking about how she gonna try to show up to rehersal on time.
Expectations for the Palin kids isn't set very high for themselves.

Bristol looked seriously corseted in her black dress. Not only was her tummy flatter than we've seen it in a very long time but she had a pronounced waistline, which has NOT been evident during ANY of the previous weeks, as far as I've been able to see.

Sarah was busy appointing judges remember, before she quit. The area is corrupt. Sarah puts the people she likes into positions and they also do her favors. The Morlocks can believe that Sarah can get Jeremy off of his current charges. What matters is to block the photos and not let his case become like Abu Ghraib. The military does not want the public to care about vital matters when it comes to war and torture.
