Politicsdaily.com reports that during a blogger conference call Joe Miller said the following:
There are a number of fights that are going to have to be undertaken, in part, due to the fact that the division of elections (is) headed up by the lieutenant governor.
The lieutenant governor is effectively the same [as] what you might see in other states as the secretary of state. His statements are policy. He was appointed by Murkowski . . . (I hate to split hairs here, but in fact Craig Campbell was appointed Lt. Governor by Sarah Palin after the sitting Lt. Governor, Sean Parnell, moved up to replace her after she quit. Did you follow all that?) has connections to the Murkowski family. In fact, when he, last summer, spoke at the time Sean Parnell was sworn\ in as governor, spent five or ten minutes praising the Murkowski Family. It was really kind of a curious thing given the lack of popularity at the time of Frank Murkowski. (Yeah, because Alaska Republicans are so likely to call each other out for their criminal behaviors! How long has Miller been up here?)
But in any event, it appears that his bias is playing out in the decisions that he's making, especially those that are directly contrary to the law.
Now for the record, Craig Campbell is a HUGE douchebag. But he is a Republican douchebag who has ties to BOTH Murkowski and Palin, and currently serves as the Lt. Governor to Palin-bot Sean Parnell, so the idea that he is biased against her butt-boy Joe Miller seems somewhat unlikely.
As you can imagine Campbell's people are none to happy about this allegation.
Reached for comment, lieutenant governor Campbell's press secretary, Renee Limoge, tells me, "It's unacceptable for anyone in this process to call into question the character of lieutenant governor Campbell."
So just why DOES Miller think there might be bias against him during the vote counting?
Here is an official statement from Lt. Governor Campbell:
“To provide clarity on the issue of write-in votes for U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller, if the write-in votes are cast properly, they will be counted.
“As the write-in vote count proceeds next week, we want to assure that the public has accurate information regarding the process. All decisions made are based on state statute and vetted through the Alaska Department of Law.”
Ohh, I see! Campbell wants to follow the RULES, and as we all know Miller is not much of a "rule follower." (Especially since doing so will definitely cost him this election!)
"Don't use your fellow employees computers, and then delete their passwords, while they are out to lunch."
"Don't have your hired thugs handcuff pushy reporters."
"Don't blame a car accident on the guy you rear ended."
And now, "Don't try and cheat your way into the US Senate."
Gee how many rules can they expect one vaguely bearded man to follow?
If there is a conflict, will the other Palin appointee, Dan Sullivan, Attorney General, become involved?
ReplyDeleteGawd, but I enjoyed reading that. ;)
ReplyDeleteGo Joe...
That is Go AWAY Joe!
Is anyone still investigating why Joe Miller did not fulfill the required time of service after attending West Point?
ReplyDeleteHas anyone asked him if sarah palin knew what he had done with those computers before she endorsed him?
Has anyone asked palin those questions?
My Gawd, I had to read that headline twice to get a handle on it! Not your fault, Gryph, it's just how convoluted the Palinoids are.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sore fricken loser. He needs to take his ball and go home. Permanently!
ReplyDeleteJoe the Teabagger should be more concerned about the bias that the voters have against him!
ReplyDeleteNo, Joe doesn't take a break from paranoia. I'm beginning to suspect that this is the reason he has had employment difficulties in the past. He may have periods of little paranoia, but under stress it reappears big time. We need to continue investigating the military career, because paranoia isn't Joe's only mental health problem. He will be back.
ReplyDeleteHow can write-in votes for Miller count if he wasn't a write in? He was on the ballot. Or more specifically, do write-in votes count for anyone, registered or not? If it doesn't matter, then why the paperwork and a deadline to be a write-in candidate?
ReplyDeleteThis is crazy. The division of elections already said write in Miller votes will NOT count for Miller because he was on the ballot. Now they say he will get those votes. This is bullshit.
ReplyDeleteI think we the people should be the vote count watchers.
I love this state but am growing tired of all the changing rules and flip flopping for these damn republican candidates.
gonna be interesting to see infighting between palins 'bots and appointees...
ReplyDeleteHoping Lisa holds the lead because it will really PISS OFF sister sarah :-)
How can the write-ins for Miller count if he wasn't registered as a write-in? Simple as that.
ReplyDelete8:50am If the voter both checked Miller's name on the ballot and then wrote it in, doesn't that comprise double voting that negates that ballot?
ReplyDeleteOT - If you folks are interested Daily Kos is offering a petition to sign up to support Pelosi for minority Dem leader.
The bluedog Dems are trying to oust her, according to the news on that site, in favor of a conservative Dem. Just what we need, more conservatives - that surely assures us that the hole only gets dug deeper than it is now.
Joe the Bagger accusing someone of 'vote tampering' - WOW.
ReplyDeleteJoe the Bagger truly does have shit for brains.
Next headline we'll read is Joe the Bagger hacking into election computers; State computers being that the Lt Gov and the AG are on the system.
It is a proven fact - that past behaviour dictates the present.
The problem with Joe is that even if he wins, he is a looser.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Lisa win at this point if only to laugh at the ex guv, but her flaunting her win without the votes counted has caused the Titanic (Do you remember that they called it, "the ship that even GOD couldn't sink"? --and God sunk it.) to pop up in my head every time I read her gushings. I think Joe will win with less than 100 votes.
At first I expected that Campbell would be on Parnell's side, but any sane Republican can't want Joe in the US Senate because Joe is too loony. Campbell seems pretty sane in spite of his connections to our infamous attention whore.
If Joe makes it in to the Senate, he will whine and snivel about every loss, running to the press ("I am unarmed! Please, press, come talk to me!") and firing off vitriol on his FB page.
IF he wins, his supporters will rewrite history and clain that he won with an overwhelming majority of votes even though it will be less than 100. If they say it enough, it becomes fact.

ReplyDeleteis this true?
My husband said Joe Miller, in an interview this afternoon, that if he did not win the Senate seat, he's not worried because he will be working with Sarah Palin towards 2012 because there will be positions coming open under that I will be qualified for.
ReplyDeleteYuck.
There is obvious bias toward Miller and there are weird things being said and done by the State's election group. I'd be watching them too - just as Murkowski is.
ReplyDeleteThere is constant change in what the elections group is doing. They also say one thing and then have to come out w/another statement or correction. Now they have moved the counting date up from what they orginally stated.
Both the Murkowski group and Miller's have attorneys and I would to if I was in their positions.
And, don't get excited, I voted for McAdams.
OT - but worth it, I think.
ReplyDeleteRead this post and see if agree that it makes a point about the need for health care reform in way that should stick in people's minds and hearts. It's short, sweet and sad - and apparently true.

ReplyDeleteOT - Keith Olbermann suspended by MSNBC
ReplyDeletehttp://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/11/5/917893/-Olbermann-suspended-by-MSNBC
People that scream that someone else is cheating in a certain way is exactly how they are cheating. He won't give it up 'cause he knows his teabagger backers are there to cheat for him. What a pathetic excuse for a human being! Give it up Joe, click your heels 3 times and go back to Kansas!
ReplyDeletei think what they are trying to say is this...
ReplyDeleteif one of joe's followers fill in the oval and write his name properly..he gets the vote.
but because this followers are retards, they will most likely fill in the oval with his name, and again as a write in. thereby...the vote wont count. its officially a double vote and will be thrown out.
i hope he losses so badly. i know he will.
im enjoying the HELL out of watching sarah palin go down. i think its gonna be a onslaught from the republicans...too many attacks for her to defend, and if she defends all of them, she will look like a crazy maniac. which she allready does.
her new video is so retarted. its sad how she is just milking these people for more money.
but hey....they want her, they can have her.
Joe Miller is just acting as any weasel (and Palin) would; when (not if) cornered, attack.
ReplyDeletepure b.s.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/11/msnbc-suspends-olbermann/
What's this about the military stationed in Alaska being able to qualify for your Permanent Fund checks, even if they are not physically in Alaska? Alaska pays the military for Alaska votes of non-citizens of Alaska?
ReplyDeleteThis is soooooo pathetic on Joe's part. Seriously pathetic. It doesn't get more pathetic than this.
ReplyDeleteI was reading over at ADN and commenting in the comments section. There was a poster that I think may be part of Miller's legal team. The poster commented that the Alaskan Supreme Court had ruled inappropriately on write-in voting in the past. Based on that comment, I am certain that Miller will take this to the courts and will take it as far as he can in the courts, which is sooooo pathetic. The only thing that would keep him from the courts is if there are a significant number of correctly written-in ballots without misspellings and the oval filled-in. (I think this will be the case.)
Murkowski only has to have 82% of the write-in votes to win this election. As long as 82% of all ballots (absentee included) are correctly filled out and are written for Murkowski, she wins.
Joe is such an ass. He acts like he is entitled to this Senate seat since he won the Republican primary. If Murkowski ran as an independent, he wouldn't be whining like this (I think/hope).
Joe treats this as if Murkowski broke a law by running as a write-in candidate. She didn't; she was just as much a valid candidate as Miller and McAdams were.
Why doesn't Miller get this? (Rhetorical) On one hand he is saying he is confident that he won; on the other, he says the election hasn't yet been decided. Then he starts pulling this bullshit and casting doubts on his own party members in a pathetic attempt to win?
Hey Joe; how well will these folks work with you if you do, by some miracle, win the Senate seat???
Here is something to think about/ It might be why Joe Miller is flipping out regarding the re-count!!!
ReplyDeleteAlaska is one or the purest eVote states. Got it? Miller may have actually won the primary as a result of vote flipping.
He was down quite a bit in the polls, before the election, right?
What if a certain percentage of McAdams' votes were programmed to go to Miller?
What if Scott actually did get more votes than the other two?
Sadly, this is not a true recount, only an absentee ballot and write in recount, or is it? If they have to look at every ballot, I think major eVote fraud may be discovered.
Thus Scott should have a team of observers, too!
No wonder Joe is flipping out! Didn't think about this ahead of time, did they?
They probably didn't flip any write-ins, and may have miscalculated Lisa's strength and well as Scott's.
Anon at 10:13 If he feels confident that he will be working with Palin towards 2012, she must owe him bigtime and it sounds like he is going to collect. Will she pay?
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 7:49,
ReplyDeleteI agree. GO JOE! And take Drop Zone Security with you.
Absolutely no chance now that this recount won't end up in the sort of drawn out debacle the Coleman/Franken thing was. Even if the write-in vote is clear to everyone else, Miller and his paranoia are going to claim bias, sabotage, etc. and drag the state through a costly and pointless process. I hope your election authorities are not as accommodating of the nonsense as ours were. All their effort bending over backward to avoid the perception of bias didn't change the fact that Coleman, despite getting every break he wanted, still claims the election was stolen (actually he doesn't--he knows better--just lets others do it for him)and it put the rest of us through hell.
Anon 8:16
ReplyDeleteJoe the Teabagger should be more concerned about the bias that the voters have against him!"
That's what I was thinking. He is probably creating a lot of hard feelings against him by Alaskans. Presumably the California group that funded his run is funding the lawyers and observers etc.
If that is so that will increase the resentment, and how would he then represent the people of Alaska in Congress?
He has a really bad attitude.
Cringing,
ReplyDeleteI feel the exact same way. Even if the intent of the write-ins is clear, it won't matter if the rules say a vote needs to be discarded. Miller could still win this based solely on flawed spelling or bad election judge decisions. He's got a tough decision to make--find a mysterious bag of 'lost ballots' (like the losing Republican in CT govs race did) and illegally steal the Alaska Senate seat or hold out for a cabinet position in the upcoming Palin administration (ooh-just vomited a little in my mouth) he's praying for. What is an immoral slimeball to do?
Sadly, I don't rule out a Teabagger/Palin presidency. They are not a grassroots movement--they have massive Koch Industries and other money behind them. It's going to come down to how the Republican establishment deals with this fringe group. Right now, they have benefited from having it both ways--pretending the Teabagger/extreme right is a separate entity, while getting all their votes. However, some of the bloom has come off the vine and the establishment seems to be trying to reign them in a bit after the Palin/DeMint-generated loss of the Senate and calls by conservative bloggers to oust safe for re-election 'RINOs' and replace with unelectable nutballs. Palin could try attempt a coup of the establishment and with Koch money pull it off. I hope that's not true, but this country just spent $3 billion dollars to put the same party that got us into this financial nightmare back into office so who knows?
Just because Skuzzy Joe is paranoid doesn't mean that the whole world isn't out to get him. LOL LOL LOL
ReplyDeleteA LT. Governor needs a Press Secretary? Does a LT. Governor do anything of any significance that would require a Press Secretary?
ReplyDeleteStupid is as stupid does.
