APD Spokesperson Dave Parker confirms that the report about Todd Palin not being connected to prostitution arrest of Shailey Tripp IS from them.

We called the APD and according to Dave Parker, APD spokesperson, the statement put out to the  National Enquirer and TMZ was indeed written by them. (For some reason THIS statement is not available on the APD website as is the custom, and you can ONLY get confirmation by calling Parker directly. Things that make you go Hmmm.)

Now the only question remaining is WHY they would make a public statement about a story in the tabloids and on the internet which is usually NOT the policy of law enforcement in Alaska? (You know, when it doesn't involve the Palin of course.)

However it does appear that Officer Parker is not exactly neutral in his opinion  of Sarah Palin, for whatever THAT is worth.  Check out this statement he made for the New York Daily News:

In explaining the bombshell allegations, Parker said some in Anchorage were just "rabidly anti-Palin," adding "they will do anything to destroy the platform Sarah Palin is standing on."

If it sounds like a Palin-bot, and acts like a Palin-bot.....

    I have a theory:

Sarah covered for SOMEONE by faking the Trig pregnancy. She needed to scrub all the photos of her previously from the internet and gov website. She and Todd asked Shailey to help out since Sarah couldnt go to IT without looking suspicious. Todd paid Shailey with sexual favors.

That is very plausible to me because a Todd Palin cheating scandal doesn't make much sense to me

One does have to wonder why the press release is not on the Anchorage PD press release site.....

This whole thing is starting to get on my nerves. It's like Chinese water torture: drip, drip, drip. It seems like we take one step forward and three back. I've been very patient for over two years but it's all getting too much. Something big needs to blow, and soon.

  5. Was it really Lt. Dave Parker or someone who intercepts his calls?

Do his bosses know he's a Palinbot making public statements on her behalf?

This all sounds too political to be official police protocol.

So, Parker is the PR arm of the APD and not an officer, right?

I hope he is on solid ground because NE, having tasted the legit creds of nailing Edwards, made be hungry enough to prove Parker wrong.

Just saying, Mr. Parker better not be proven to be a palinbot because his job may be on the line if he's exaggerating or lying on her behalf.

BTW, how much influence does Mayor Sullivan have over the APD? I know he's been making cuts over at the Fire Dept. Could it be he has made noises to have this silenced or else?

So Dave Parker is a flying monkey. No surprise there.

Did you ask him if there is any proof that Todd Palin is a CUSTOMER? I never saw anything about Todd being an active member of a prostitution ring. I saw him as a customer. They are denying something that was never said, in an attempt to distract.

I think someone's blackmailing Sarah using Shailey and it's probably someone attached to her 06 campaign (whether a supporter or opponent at that time I dont know)

Maybe this person knows the truth about Trig. All this has ertainly brought that bundle into the forefront again

We were told be numerous people that Todd would be the victim of this crap. I find it curious that the Natl Enquirer hasn't approached Shailey

It doesn't strike me as terribly unusual that such a statement about Todd would be put forward. As for me, I'll just wait and see if anything else comes of this. With a lack of information, the void will only continue to be filled with speculation, which only serves to elevate Sarah.

My husband is a press officer. While it's not unusual for there to be a targeted "statement" (as opposed to a press release,) what is unusual is that the APD is commenting on a story that is a non-issue for them.

No one is accusing the APD of wrongdoing or mishandling the investigation, are they? So why do they care if the Enquirer claims Todd is palling around with therapists? Since when do police departments *care* what tabloids say?

Can we expect a similar statement next week when the Weekly World News says the abominable snowman was arrested for causing a scene at the REI on Northern Lights Blvd?

Only if the abominable snowman's name is Palin, apparently.

On Sarah Palin (and the Milbank moratorium)

...Given all of that, it's impossible for us to ignore Palin even for a month. Does that mean that we have to (or will) make a big deal out of every tweet or Facebook post from the 2008 vice presidential nominee? No.

But, she is a force -- of considerable power -- within the Republican party thanks to the devotion of her followers, followers who are generally those conservative voters who have an outsized hand in deciding the identity of the party's presidential nominee.

So, we continue on Palin watch unless and until she announces she won't be running.

I like the comment from 10:31. The case is over, and no one accused the police of anything. It is unusual for them to come out and defend an ordinary citizen whose name was linked to the story in the tabloids, not the regular media outlets. While they are at it, perhaps the police spokesperson wants to add that Trig is the son of Sarah and Todd Palin (they must have adopted him by now). They can also add that it is possible to see Russia from someplace in Alaska, just as soon as the fog clears.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anonymous10:46 AM

It seems very odd that an official spokesperson for any public organization would render his opinion on this matter, i.e. rabidly anti-Palin. It seems very unprofessional to me.

If there a chance that he issued the statement, but it wasn't sanctioned by the department. They will CYA, but I wonder if they won't clamp down on him.

Hey Parker, that isn't a platform that Sarah's naughty monkey heels are standing on, it is a grisly mix of bodies from those she's thrown under the bus to get where she is today. Which is confusing since it has no title.

She is a quitter, liar and a user. Is that worth defending by breaking APD policy?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Virginia Voter10:48 AM

OMFG, some of you people are a little reading comprehension challenged. The release only says that Todd is not linked to this ARREST with any evidence...does it say he didn't have sex with Shailey Tripp or one of her ho's? Does it specifically say he was not a customer of hers? No.

Gryphen, could we find out who is top person there at APD. This " press release" sent to the NE is so inappropriate. She holds no office in Alaska and I have never ever seen a public official respond to a tabloid magazine like this. If there is an ongoing investigation and Todd is involved in any way, like statutory rape, as an example, then the police department is really out of line. Of course your AH mayor and wimpy gov will be of no help. Why does Sarah have these men so whipped, because they are and it's revolting and crooked. I doubt it's illegal but I dont know.

Reporters who call there should ask if it is common practice for the APD to on their own, send a statement to a tabloid. It's WEIRD!

Why does Alaska have so many crooked people in public service? Willow got away with her crime and then there was Troopergate. This unethical behavior by all these people covering for Sarah is out of control!! Like not releasing those emails and redacting so many! Sarah truly believes she is queen and that laws do not apply to her or her family members!!

If APD initiated / connected with NE to deny, confirm or issue ANYTHING, it would be an extraordinary, precedence-setting move on THEIR part. Since WHEN does law enforcement INITIATE comment on this sort of story? Seriously...

And if APD did initiate direct contact with the NE, why did they NOT LIST IT on their “Press Releases” page? http://bit.ly/hP9Vsn

TMZ.com – whom $arah has on speed-dial – also claims to have received a copy of this “direct contact” of NE by APD. Either the contact with NE happened, and it was handled “on the sly” and OFF THE PRESS RELEASES PAGE, or it DID NOT.

OR… the contact DID NOT HAPPEN, and this is a BRIGHT, SHINY OBJECT from Team Palin to distract one and all from... what?

Ok - As much as some people may not like the situation, it is what is is.

The guy they are quoting is Lt. Parker of the APD. He's a cop and I can't imagine he would jepordize his career for Palins

The Enquirer article mentions a rolodex - there is no rolodex.

We say - there may be other (non-rolodex) information - cops confirm there isn't.

The article says there is police evidence Todd was involved with Tripp. - cops say there isn't a scintilla of evidence.

We say the press release is fake - Cops confirm it's true.

I'm sure someone who will have sex with anyone for a couple hundred dollars will say anything for $5000. An interview with Tripp doesn't do it. Based on the APD statement, there needs to be the equivalent of a stained blue dress before I believe this.

It does appear that we have all been hoaxed. Either by someone who wished it was true or by someone who wanted us to waste our time on this fake story to draw attention away from the real story. I hope like hell this wasn't your iceberg because i think the SS Palin is sailing past it.

Who is responsible for Sarah Palin?

Sarah Palin has a problem. With just months to go before the GOP field for the 2012 presidential race starts filling up like shoppers queuing for a Wal-Mart black Friday sale, polls show that she is the most intensely disliked politician in America.

Since the mid-term elections alone, she has lost ground not only with Republicans, but with the ever important independents and especially women. How could this have happened to the Wasilla hockey mom that stormed onto the national stage over two years ago, bringing heat and light to an otherwise drab political scene?

Yes you could place some blame on the intense media coverage. You could place some blame on how lovers and haters alike scrutinize every word she tweets or facebooks, raising constant questions about her understanding of domestic and international affairs. And you can even place blame on Palin herself for not fully thinking out what she says before she says it, thereby setting herself up for criticism.

But the real blame lies closer to home, here in Alaska.

Another thing my husband pointed out is that you don't want to draw attention to things you want to die. So releasing any statement--even to correct a negative impression---can give a story more legs.

That's exactly what's happened here. No one is going to change their minds based on this statement. All they've done is thrown more red meat to the hungry mob.

And that absolutely smells like Palin's hands have been in it. My husband is constantly appalled at how unprofessional her press people have always been. They are so interested in "saying stuff" they never consider whether they should say anything.

It's that teenage mentality that you can't just leave something alone, you have to get the last word in. It screams "immature!"

I personally had them lie to me, lie about me, destroy evidence I needed (after they were asked not to)I even had a state trooper tell me it was not against the law for someone to file a false police report to get me wrongfully imprisoned. I was also harrassed by the police in a village. It is well known everywhere that the police pick up girls all over the state to have sex with them. The first thing I was warned about in Nome was not getting in a car with a cop and I was 48 at the time. I recently got a FOIA request with almost nothing in it. If there are no records they can say I am lying you see. They also did not respond when I reported signs of a meth lab, a child in danger, underage girls drinking, drugging and having sex with older men, theft, vandalism, missing person, and threats to myself. They selectively charge people with crimes and then the DOL selectively prosecutes. The state also knew then and knows now the owner of that place had multiple businesses and no licenses. You can bet jobs are being threatened and anything they could dig up is being used to blackmail people. This could mean Parnel is involved in protecting the Palins along with the DOL. While no one said Todd was involved in a prostitution ring, I did say there are lots of people in Alaska and other places who have a network in which they find people to have sex with on Craigslist. I found this out by investigating the people who set me up to be wrongfully imprisoned. They will have sex anytime, anywhere, and with anyone. When I told law enforcement about it a couple years ago they knew nothing about it, just to give you an idea. The press release was smoke and mirrors.

Ohiovoter - "not one scintilla of evidence that Todd Palin had anything to do with this." Evidnece --like record books -- were taken by cops as part of the investigation. "none of the evidence examined by police showed any connection to Palin..."

yeah - that means he wasn't "screwing the working girls" or if he was, there wasn't a record of it.

Sorry - call me a bot if you want but will someone please point to something, anything tangible and legit that ties Todd to this other than alot of people really hoping this is true?

  81. So when will the APD issue a news release that Todd has never cheated on his Mrs.?

The police statement is simply bizarre and it's equally bizarre that anyone thinks the statement distracts from whether or not Todd strayed.

However, I would like to hear the explanation for not listing the news release on the APD web page. Gryphen, Is there any chance you could put them on the spot? It would be kinda fun for the scandal to expand to include a cover up.

If this is as crazy as it seems and not some giant misunderstandig, the chief of police and, well yeah, maybe the mayor need to be asked about this also.

What's up with a public servant who is the PIO for the APD using a missive from a scandal sheet and gossip site?

Is that what Anchortown residents are paying for?

Someone already posted the link to Dave Parker's profile at the Anchorage Grace Church, but I don't see it getting the attention it deserves:

    Dave Parker

Dave Parker was born into a strongly evangelical Christian family living in the mountains of central California. He came to Christ as a child and attended Seattle Pacific College where he majored in Education and Biology. At SPC he met Margie Quirk and they were married in June of 1970.

After college, Dave and Margie began teaching in Washington State but were soon led to teaching positions in Yemen Arab Republic. There Dave sensed the call to ministry and they returned to Portland, Oregon to attend Western Conservative Baptist Seminary and minister on the staff of Temple Baptist Church.

Dave and Margie have two sons, Aaron (Seattle, WA) and Ben (Wasilla, AK) and 8 grandchildren.

After Seminary in 1980, the Parkers served as church-planting Missionaries with the Baptist General Conference in Ivory Coast and in France. Dave also served as the senior pastor of Margie's home church, Sylvan Way Baptist in Bremerton, Washington and as pastor of Bethany Christian Community in Anchorage.

Dave now works at Anchorage Police Department and Margie teaches at Grace Christian School. Dave carries on an active ministry at McLoughlin Youth Center and does itinerant preaching and pulpit supply.

That might explain his pro-Palin stance.

    I agree.

Here is another link- to a profile on Parker in the Juneau empire.

Former preacher turns to police work in Anchorage
Parker thought about being a chaplain but there were no openings

A number of interesting details there.

"We believe that God puts us wherever we are," Parker said of his faith. "God is sovereign in all things. What happens to you and what happens to me, day-to-day, is all ordained by God, in that he uses it for His purposes."

    Does that sound familiar?

Looking on the bright side, if $arah's machinations also expose the corruption of Alaska law enforcement, perhaps the Feds will soon drag y'all's ass into the 21st century and the rule of law.

Pretty amazing to think that not only did the police lower themselves to refuting tabloids and bloggers, but now this guy comes along to confirm that they are indeed refuting tabloids and bloggers. Wow, they run a tight ship, huh?

I'm actually tickled by the presence of all the concern trolls, something good must be on the horizon.

I don't get it - I certainly have no interest in visiting their domain.

What I find most interesting about this continual story about Todd Palin is the fact that the majority of us trust nothing that is presented us when it comes to the Palin family. Yes, we have to continually try and find out what the actual facts are because of having learned so many untruths they have presented the public (as a family)over the past years.

Here we have a cop from Anchorage make a statement and we even distrust him and his motives. Amazing! But, I totally agree with the research being done concerning the matter.

Research has included looking into what could be behind Parker's statement - how the Anchorage Department does or does not typically handle this type situation - what his statement said or didn't as to the charges - and most especially the cop's background (religion and support of Palin). Thank God for the majority of our Alaskan bloggers!

Were Parker an employee in the private sector, he would have had to excuse himself from a like matter. We, as bloggers, have since found out he is a religious man (nothing wrong w/that, but it matches Sarah's platform) and has made a very public statement supporting Sarah and the fact he feels she has been the recipient of bad press (that is OK to do too, but should have been done from a very different platform than that of being the cop that was involved w/all of this!). I think he has done a huge disservice to the Anchorage Police Department!

I'm so glad that, we as a group, have so many sources to use in looking into this matter further than just accepting 'a' cop's statement! All we want to know is the entire truth and we have every reason to expect it - from all sides!

To continue and somewhat repeat myself, I think that we, as Alaskans and citizens of the United States, have every right to expect and want the truth about the Palins. Sarah put herself out there (she brought her family members along!) as either an entertainer or politician. Many things that Sarah and Todd have projected themselves to be, or not be, have been proven to be lies. And, some wonder why we feel that we have to automatically question and go into investigative mode?

Sarah Palin (and Todd) need to be vetted every step of the way!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Anonymous5:14 PM

When anyone professes to be 'religious' it immediately raises an 'alert' to me! Especially in this day and age when so many 'christian's are doing so many horrid and unethical things. And, sorry to say it, but they tend to be 'repubs'!

I don't think Tripp's place is operated like a normal massotherapy practices. I can't imagine the Johns or Todds using their real names. So basically, Mr. Parker is saying Todd didn't own or work in the business. He is playing word games to equate employee with customer. For Palin bots, not an employee is the same as not a customer.

  92. I was just reading over at Alaska WTF and comment 35 has posted some disturbing info. re: Todd & Sarah. I did a little googling and did find reference to Daniel Rene Jackson case Number ABI 06-76332...The other info I don't know..couldn't find. If this person has specific information they surely know who to contact. Documentation would be very helpful as Alaska seems to keep its secrets secret.

And when I was conscientiously investigating Joe Miller and spoke with Parker about a relevant matter, he asked me "where were you when Obama was running". That tells you even more about Parker and APD.

  94. Frozen Vogler6:53 PM

Here's an odd coincidence, if somebody could track this down there might be a connection.

Tripp's office was located at 1601 Abbott Suite 201.

In Suite 101 at that address there's a dentist who shares the last name of Jay Ramras' Chief of Staff.

    Coincidence, or not ?

Good find on Parker, anybody who lives here in Anchorage knows that our Mayor came out as a big supporter of Joe Miller, does that tell the Outsiders enough about who's running the show up here ?

I'm guessing that Parker did this on his own volition, there's still the curious bit about APD not being tipped off by the neighbors.

That tells me that Parker didn't read the police report because it directly contradicts what's in the court file.

Tomorrow I will go back to the courthouse and photocopy that page.

Griff, certainly by now you've looked at the file, am I right ?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Anonymous7:45 PM

To whoever goes and examines the files in person- thanks for doing the work our lamestream media won't do.

Hope you see this before you go:

Search warrants-are they in the file?

Search warrants should be public info- after the cases are prosecuted. The Shailey Tripp case has been- ended with a plea.

Search warrants often reveal much about the case- and will require among other things:statement to judge about what the basis for the warrant is. Where does the information come from- has it been corroborated by additional investigation before application for the warrant? What are the items to be searched for. What are the premesis where the search is to be conducted and so on.

Among the many questions that the police files might (ought to)answer: - was the arrest listed as a particular business (Blue Hands?)(or was it perhaps CYBERTRON INC-which has effective January 24, 2011 left the State of Alaska?)

Can't wait to see the files posted somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Anonymous8:31 PM

Anon @ 7:45 - The information that I looked at is at the courthouse, it doesn't contain the search warrant information, although that might be gotten from APD.

I looked at both Tripp's and Thomas' files.

What is on file is basically the paperwork that the court system generates as she proceeds through the system, and a standard police form describing the complaint.

In my notes, I wrote, "APD got call of pot. prostitution @ an office"

I didn't note the Craigslist part of the write up because I already knew that she was banned from using CL. But it's there, I photocopy the whole damn thing tomorrow, and Kashawn's too.

Neither Blue Hands or Cybertron are mentioned, although I could have missed that. The expired business license for Blue Hands can be found here:

    http://www.commerce.state.ak.us/occ/bussearch/BusDetail.cfm?LicNum=314200

Thomas' file stated that she was instructed by Tripp to charge 210 for a hand job and 250 for full sex.

Tripp's file had a notation that her boyfriend worked at "gg"

Could that be the PD's office in Anchorage, Gorton, Logue & Graper ?

Does anybody remember Mr. Gorton's little run in with prostitutes a while back ?

I find the fact that she had a neighbor who's a dentist who share's the last name of Jay Ramras' Chief of Staff.

THAT is what blows me away.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Frozen Vogler9:01 PM

    Okay, here's something interesting.

    The business license for Cybertron
lists an address that is found in the case file, but it's not the address where the offense occurred, it's something else.

    http://www.commerce.state.ak.us/occ/bussearch/BusDetail.cfm?LicNum=936536

It's also curious that Tripp incorporated Cybertron in Covington, Louisiana

    https://myalaska.state.ak.us/business/soskb/Corp.asp?383766

At an apartment building at this address:

    28 Park Place Drive
    Covington LA 70433

Here's another little tidbit that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere, a bit more depth on the 900 dollar inn-kind donation. It seems that it was perhaps a gift certificate to a volunteer ? WTF ?

    5 09/01/2006 NON-MONETARY IN KIND $900.00 TRIPP, SHAILEY

    This is interesting @ 8:31 and @ 9:01

It's also curious that Tripp incorporated Cybertron in Covington, Louisiana"

    Initially it was in Alaska

See the creation filing and initial biennial filing at this link:

    https://myalaska.state.ak.us/business/soskb/Filings.asp?383766#

The biennial filing made Jan 24, 2011 records the change of address
    to the Louisiana address.

"lists an address that is found in the case file, but it's not the address where the offense occurred, it's something else."

I don't understand exactly what this means. Can you post the address or some explanation how it is in the file?

    about the gg note-?

anon @ 9:34 - Is she packing it up and moving back to Louisiana ?

The address listed in the court file is the same as the address listed for Cybertron.

That clearly contradicts what the NE posted as the APD statement. If they have the report they must have said WTF? too. Can't wait to see the rest of the docs.

The possibilities for G#G- there is one in particular that makes me wonder WTF?

I guess the recent fiasco I have ignored elsewhere may have the info on the bf.

And as of June 15 most of this would have been-gone- never happened. Timing sucks for some.

Based on what you posted else where I agree this may be more than I thought! I really don't get screwing up the facts in the APD statement. I don't know if someone from outside can know enough to see what is there- NE may not be aware of what this might be either.

Comments don't shut off here- will keep checking back here. It will be much less static to sort out.
