RAM on whether or not Sarah Palin is afraid to go on the Daily Show: "Jon Stewart isn't all that intimidating." Really? Do you know how to prove that Sarah?

From Huffington Post:

Palin has been invited numerous times by Stewart, most recently on Jan. 18 during an extended mockathon. "Join me -- I would love to have a conversation with you. We'll do it in my studio, your wilderness utopia," Stewart quipped. "You could have Glenn Beck sit next to us or between us. I want him to come on too. He won't do it either. I promise a pleasant, respectful and classy conversation."

Asked for comment, Palin aide and unofficial spokeswoman Rebecca Mansour emailed The Huffington Post, claiming that Palin "doesn't recall being invited on Jon Stewart's show" and that no one at her political action committee, SarahPAC "remembers seeing an invitation," adding that the former governor's Fox News contract precludes her from appearing on other networks without approval.

When it was suggested that perhaps she and the other holdouts were afraid to go on the show, Mansour emphasized: "She is certainly not 'afraid' to go on his or any show. Sometimes she chooses to avoid a show, such as David Letterman's, because she doesn't want to give it a ratings or publicity boost. But afraid? No way."

In a follow-up email, Mansour was more vehement: "She's not afraid of his show. She doesn't think about him all that much. Neither do I. However, I do recall that he's been rather vicious in his coverage of her, so I'm not sure why she would even want to appear on his show to give him a ratings boost. If you continue to imply that she's afraid of appearing on a comedian's satire news show, then you're just plain wrong. She's stared down big oil companies and won. Jon Stewart isn't all that intimidating."

I call bullshit on this.  Snowdrift Snooki is absolutely terrified to appear on a show opposite somebody with Stewart's intellect.

Even the less confrontational Jon Stewart that we see today would obviously ask the kinds of questions that could not help but reveal to the world just how incredibly ignorant and inept Palin is to his audience. And RAM well knows that the interview would immediately go viral which could only serve to damage Palin's credibility even further. (Could it be damaged any more?)

Well here is my challenge to Sarah Palin.  Prove us wrong.  Go on the Daily Show without requesting that certain subjects be off limits, and put your reputation where your lipstick slathered mouth is.

If you don't, you prove to the world that you ARE indeed a coward, and that Rebecca Man-Sewer is a lying ass kissing flying monkey.

I love the "give him (or others) a rating boost." What a couple of egotists. She doesn't realize her draw is one akin to people rubbernecking on the freeway to see the idoits who couldn't avoid crashing into one another.

Of course she is afraid to go on his show. John Stewart is intelligent and will ask questions that will make her uncomfortable. Her standard excuse is saying that she hasn't been invited or doesn't want to give someone a ratings boost.

Someone is really DESPERATE for ATTENTION!

SO is Palin waiting for an engraved invitation to be hand delivered to her? Or perhaps they Stewart has not offered to PAY her to be on his show?

No, b...h is just desperate for attention.

I would rather not have her on the show. I love Jon Steward. But these days he was always soft on the Republicans that came on his show, like his annual Huckabee interview, where he just let Huck got away with his non-answers. At the same time, he is always very tough on the people from the Obama administration. Sometimes it could get quite frustrating and hard to watch.

  7. Let's face it, she won't go on the show because she knows she'll be made a fool of. Not necessarily because of any questions Stewart will ask, but because the real "her" will be revealed to be just as dimwitted as we all know. I'm sure she's still smarting from the Katie Couric interviews, during which it was revealed that Palin has no ideas about anything important. So yeah. As entertaining as it would be, it's not likely to happen, ever.

Sarah is so afraid of intelligent people and of letting her secrets out.

Sarah might go on Stewart's show if she could cheat (only answer pre-approved questions; have an agreement that would make Sarah the editor of the show; have cue cards listing her talking points; be in secret radio contact with RAM so RAM could tell Sarah the answers; etc.)

To use her own terminology, Sarah Palin's a "half-been".

  10. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Jon Stewart is more well known than Snowdrift Snooki. He does not need her to boost his ratings. Furthermore, Jon is more electable than she is and she knows it. Period.

It's nice to think she won't go on his show because she's intimidated by his intellect, but remember who you're talking about. The narcissist?
She doesn't get what she doesn't get. Clueless is the term, I think. She probably won't go on his show because everyone around her tells her it's not worth her divine time, and of course, she, being so fabulous & all, doesn't want to boost his ratings.

I really don't want her to go on the daily show. stewart will be too easy on her, and she'll sit there all smug while she lies. the audience will be forced to clap because of the applause sign. nope, that will just piss me off.

When she says things like "she doesn't think about him all that much", if you can recognize the psychology of an immature person, you know that this translates to: "Steward and others like him really get under my skin constantly."

Palin and her clan of fools are such amateurs. You can read them like a book.

Anyone who wanted to meet Ivana Trump (Ivana Trump!!) back in the day is someone who dreamt of a world of "champagne wishes and caviar dreams" (thank you, Robin Leach). Going back to the writers of Game Change, Sarah thought that the interview with Katie Couric was going to be a piece of cake, no need to study and prepare, a real lightweight fluffy interview. It was Sarah who made herself look bad with easy questions. Most people can name the paper or website that they look at in the morning with a cup of coffee. Most people can name one magazine that they read, even on line. Sarah fumbled an easy question.

The other soft ball was to name another Supreme Court ruling that Sarah did not agree with (in addition to Roe v. Wade). People in Alaska should have been outraged with Exxon Valdez. No need for Sarah to search her memory of U.S. history to try and remember what Dred Scott was all about. Exxon Valdez!

Sarah can't even have a representative from the media when she delivers a speech to a friendly audience. She reads from her papers, stumbles, ad libs and doesn't want it reported. Her appearances on Fox are prescripted, and sometimes prerecorded and she still looks awful.

So, how is the world can Sarah appear on Jon Stewart's show? Jon reads the book, and is one of the few people who asks followup questions. The reason that Republicans are so taken back is that they expect another soft ball interview where a question is asked and answered, and they move on to the next one on the list. Jon is a dog with a juicy bone, and if he hears something that isn't quite right, he follows up. Jon's particular talent is that in addition to be smart, he does it with a sense of humor and a sly wink, so he doesn't look like an angry politician.

Sarah doesn't realize that appearing on Stewart's show would boost HER ratings, too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous1:29 PM

She can't answer why she quit. Quitting is the biggest roadblock to her holding office. She quit. She wasn't 'saving' Alaskans anything. Politics is full of ethics violations and wrongdoers. They fight for their jobs. She quit. For money and celebrity. Thats all.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Anonymous1:35 PM

I want to see her face off with Stephen Colbert.

Whereas Jon has gotten softer on Republicans and more conservative himself (or so it seems), Stephen is still on top of his game, in fact, it seems more so.

Goodness, I bet Sarah would fall for his conservative persona and forget it is satire.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anonymous1:35 PM

I'm sorry. What "big oil company" did Sarah stare down again?

Oh, none. That's right. She just snowballed the legislature into passing the fool's plan that was AGIA. Triple damages and all.

If I remember correctly, no "big oil companies" bid on AGIA. "Winning" would have been the oil company submitting bids. That would mean they agreed Palin's little boondoggle was a great idea. Instead, they saw it for the loser proposition it was, and passed.

RAM is an idiot who is as interested in re-writing history as her boss. Nice try, RAM, but those of us who know what "winning" and "losing" really mean know Palin lost that battle.

Palin knows better than to go on The Daily Show. Jon would probably expect her to say something that wasn't on bumper sticker/refrigerator magnet platitude list. He's smarter than she is, and wouldn't pretend to be dumb just to make her look good like Greta, et al., do. Palin is simply not quick enough to do the Daily Show. She'd come off looking bad and she knows it.

Meaning she increased taxes on oil by the greatest amount in state histroy, and then- like the good socialist she is- had $1200 sent to each Alaskan to keep us from complaining about the tax hike- which her Republican successor is trying to undo.

So why doesn't the RAM tell us the whole story: Palin is a tax increaser on corporations- and she increased the state operating budget by 35% in just 2 years.

Snowdrift Snooki got a segment on MSNBC The Last Word tonight. Seems as per her usual BS rants, she has chosen to bitchslap NJ Gov Christie.

She continues to spew her BS lies about what she did in AK - cutting over 86% earmarks -- really, could have fooled me knowing the Bridge to Nowhere (which she was for it before she was against it) cash was given to and spent in AK. The Road to Nowhere comes to mind!!

Jon Stewart has hosted a lot of people that he used for comedy. Donald Rumsfeld was just on his show. The guests usually have books to promote and Stewart discusses the book. When he does ask a difficult question, he does it respectfully. Palin's problem with Stewart is more likely his tendency to point out comments that are not answering the question. Letterman is also very respectful with guests he uses for comedy. Normal public figures and celebrities expect it. Palin is one of the few that can't handle celebrity and takes offense at the slightest comment. She seems to have zero self esteem and hides behind temper tantrums.

Looks like Rand Paul is not afraid of Jon Stewart. They are discussing clean air as I type this. Real politicians and celebrities can handle being subjects for comedy without throwing hissy fits.

Chris Matthews claimed that Sarah is last month's flavor of the month. The reason that she attacked fellow Republican, Gov.Christy, was to get attention instead of him. Same goes for this "we weren't invited, and we wouldn't boost his ratings" crap. No one has been noticing Sarah lately.

Hahahahahahaha, If Sarah Isn't afraid to go on Jon Stewart's show, then she's more retarded than I thought, cuz Jon would eat her alive with one brain tied behind his back. She doesn't have the brain power to go one on one with him.

I can hear her now. "Mr Murdock, May I have a permission slip to go on the Jon Stewart Show?" (Please say no! PLEASE SAY NO! Paahhllleeaase SAY NO!)[Shaking her head vigorously.]

Of course Palin is terrified of Stewart! He would simply expose her as the buffoon she is and she knows it. He is well informed on the issues and she is not. He reads. She does not. He actually thinks and she most certainly does not.

Palin is still obsessing about the Couric interview which was about as cushy and non threatening as any interview that any VP candidate ever had. That Palin couldn't answer a simple question like "what do you read" simply illustrated that she did not and does not read much of anything beyond Twitter. It took her two years to craft a response to Couric's question. THAT'S a telling measure of her intellect.

If she can't handle a simple appearance with a comedian, how the hell does she think she can handle ANY crisis of substance?

Palin, you are naught but a simpering buffoon.

Oh, now we all know why she doesn't do LSM shows and Jon.....she is so AMAZING that she draws such a huge ratings for the show. Hey Sarah, has it occurred to you that if in fact there is a ratings increase (which it wouldn't be because of you) it is because many are watching a train wreck in progress? Are you WINNING? You are such a loser and your shadow is no better (how's that massage therapist thing working out for him?)

    She's afraid she'd give Jon Stewart's ratings a bump-it.

  85. Jon is good enough to make her look silly and stupid without her realizing it. Sorta like SNL. She won't realize what a PR disaster it was until the next morning when she starts to read the reviews and comments from the talking heads. Until she does, she'll think she did great and had the upper hand. Only after she reads (or has read to her) the analysis by the pundits will she realize how Jon Stewart exposed her for what she really is.

As for Colbert, I'm sure she thinks he's a right wing conservative Republican that shares all of her values. Not even sure anyone pointing out that he's not would convince her.

Having listened to RAM on the Eddie Burke show, I have zero respect for someone who treats others so poorly and has so little class.

As for Palin, I have yet to see her on any show where she actually has to answer tough questions. She knows she can't handle it. So, I'm not looking for her ever to appear on Jon Stewart or Rachel Maddow.

Can you even imagine that John Stewart hasn't had official invitations extended to her? I call bullshit. I can really picture her on his show though. There he would be, charming and disarming. Sarah, on the other hand, would be sitting there with her chin arrogantly lifted, jaw clenched in that pugnacious under-bite thing that she does with her lips pinched in a thin line. Periodically, she would spew words like a Salad Shooter in response to John's softball questions. It would be a disaster for her as she has no sense of humor and absolutely no class.

    "lying ass kissing flying monkey"??

Oh, that kind of language is just flat-out mean! Good job, sir. Remember, with super-thin-skinned people who can dish it out but can't take it the old adage goes "sticks and stones may break my bones but words can send me scuttling off in eye-twitching apoplexy, also, too."

When will the nightmare that is the screechy wretch be over? When?

ANON 3:06 PM--Sitting in my husband's hospital room laughing my ass off at this:

"Maybe Jon Stewart should just interview a pair of leopard high heels. There would be no detectable variation from whatever Palin's word salad shooter produces."

    Thanks! I needed that.

"Quitting is the biggest roadblock to her holding office."

Yep, that's exactly right. Thanks, Sarah, for saving us from yourself. You really were your own worst enemy all along.
