Apparently Brad Hanson wishes that somebody would have told HIM that he denied having an affair with Sarah Palin!

As I am sure most of you are aware, after the revelations in Joe's book came out once again revealing that the conservative Christian, Sister Sarah had knocked boots with Todd Palin's ex-partner Brad Hanson, the Palin camp issued this denial:

In a statement released through Palin allies, Hanson again denied the allegation.

"This is the same old story that went around in 2008. It is a complete and outright lie," Hanson said. "Todd and Sarah Palin have been good friends for many years, and in fact we still own property together. We sold a former joint business venture for business reasons, nothing more. These attacks are shameful and those making them seem to be out only to destroy good people and make money doing so."

When this came out I thought it was interesting, because my understanding was that when the National Enquirer first broke the story Hanson stayed mum on the topic, and refused to be interviewed. Why would he come forward now?

Well, perhaps he didn't.

Once again according to the National Enquirer, it appears that Mr. Hanson was unaware that he made an official statement:

BUT did Hanson actually say and approve that statement?

When ENQUIRER reporter ALAN BUTTERFIELD went to speak to Hanson yesterday at his home in Alaska, Hanson seemed surprised that an official statement had been issued on his behalf.

Butterfield said Hanson appeared perplexed and confused when asked about the statement.

After being asked several times if he had released the statement, Hanson finally told Butterfield: “I think so,” and then he added, “Let me know what you think about it.”

Well THAT us rather interesting isn't it? He "thinks" he released a statement? How does one NOT know that they contacted the AP and told them flat out that there was no affair?

Another thing that confused me is WHY Palins would bother having Brad Hanson release statement in the first place, when HIS sexual tryst with Palin was barely creating a ripple next to the tsunami of the revelation that she had hooked up with basketball start Glen Rice?

But now it makes sense.  Glen Rice is a famous, successful athlete who cannot be intimidated.  Hanson is living under Pain's thumb Wasilla.  If she says he made a statement denying the affair, then by GOD he made a statement denying the affair!

One other thing that is driven home in Joe's book time and time again, is how terrified so MANY people living in Wasilla remain of the Palins and their vindictive nature.

My guess is that Hanson, as he did in the past, will refuse to say any more on this topic.

But let me just let all of you know that THIS affair is probably the worst kept secret in the Valley, and I have heard it repeated by more people, often with NO prompting, than any other scandalous information about Sarah Palin. With the possible exception of the fact that she was a horrible mother.

Actually I don't understand why the Hanson affair is NOT bigger news. After all, it happened when she was married to purse totin' Tawd at the time.
I do think it's funny that Lulu released a fake statement to the Natl Enquirer, I mean who else would have had reason to but someone in Palin's camp?
I do give credit to the Nat'l Enquirer for bringing up the issue once they found out they were fooled.

    Surprised?

Isn't this the same Palin camp who ALSO used other people's name to write Letters to the Editor under other people's name, to flatter Sarah?

Isn't this the same Palin camp who ALSO somehow managed a highly suspect letter from her Doctor on the eve of the 2008 election?

Rumors are Brad may be Piper's dad, Curtis Menard Jr may be Track's dad and Glen Rice may be Willow's dad.

    So who is Bristol's dad?

Later, Todd didn't seem to know anything about his statement. He said that he was moose hunting.

Bristol was angry and jealous of Sarah when Sarah announced her pregnancy with Trig. Levi said that Sarah begged him and Bristol over and over to adopt the child that the unwed teens were expecting. Levi said that they refused. So, Sarah announced that she was pregnant in March 2008, thus taking possession of a premature Trig, recovering in the hospital. No wonder Bristol was angry when her mother made that announcement. She was angry enough to get pregnant again.

If the Brad Hanson story in the NE was not true, and Hanson really denied it, why didn't the Palins sue NE for millions of dollars? Where is their lawsuit over the Glen Rice story? They are a lot of bluster and bullying. Sarah's reputation as a high school basketball player was that she was aggressive and stole the basketball. It looks as if Sarah is still playing high school ball, hard ball.

  6. Let me say that Joe's emphasis on the fear in the Valley of the Palins and their vindictiveness is something I stressed in a conversation with Laura Novak - I referred to the twin pathologies of fear and deceit in Alaska stemming from the dysfunctional Palin clan. It seems I was on the money.

The AP reported that the Palin Camp issued a denial from Brad about Sarah and Brad Hanson's affair and Brad knew nothing about the denial! Simply amazing the AP fell for another Palin cover up.

Hasn't the media learned by now that if there is an allegation about Sarah or Todd Palin and Sarah or Todd refuses to answer it themselves on record then 100% of the time it is true.

We have every right when said person wants to influence policy and was almost VP because of her assumed "virtues". WTF is so hard for people to get about this concept?? If she was an anonymous person living her life in Wasillia, no one would give a shit, except maybe a few true Christians up there who believe it takes a village to raise a child and who see that the Palin kids are abused psychologically. But, since Palin is all over the networks spilling her shit, she and all she is and isn't is Fair Game. Again, not a difficult concept to grasp if you have any critical thinking skills.

Yeah, trolly, you're right. We all shouldn't judge what parents do when they are supposed to be setting an example for their children and parenting. So what if our kids are scrounging through the cupboards like a bunch of roaches looking for the last bag of Ramen while we gorge ourselves locked up in our bedrooms. Big deal if we are happily married to our sweethearts whilst having affairs, sleeping with prostitutes and threatening divorce for breakfast in front of our children. How judgmental of us to point out anyone's failings, ever, no matter their position or the position they seek, such as garbageman or, um, say Leader of the Free World.
    Silly us.

The best-kept secret in Palin’s closet, according to McGinniss, is not the sordid storyline of sex and drugs and rock ’n’ roll, but the extent to which Palin believes herself chosen by God to be the next president of the United States.

The “evangelical Kool-Aid” of extreme religiosity percolates throughout The Rogue, with Palin confidantes — some named, some not — detailing the out-there end-times theology they scrambled to keep a lid on, lest it go public.

For instance: God created Earth 6,000 years ago and populated it with mankind and dinosaurs. “Mankind had survived, dinosaurs had not. End of story,” writes McInnis.

Except the rest of the story is that these are the end-times, with The Rapture and the return of Jesus imminent. Palin is quoted by fellow Christian Phil Munger as certain all this will transpire in her lifetime. “Maybe you can’t see that but I can, and it guides me every day,” she says.

Yet within the fractious Palin household, another portrait emerges.

“There was no religion,” an insider reveals. “There was nothing about God. There was no Christ. Nobody prayed. No Bibles. No crosses. None of that was ever there. Never.”

Instead, this Palin home is a portrait in dysfunction, where days began with screaming demands for divorce amid children neglected by parents who themselves behaved like emotionally stunted teenagers.

A home from whence a miserable Todd Palin, in the early years at least, escaped regularly for extramarital trysts; and where Sarah is said to have returned the favour, at least once, to get her wayward hubby back in line.

A home from whence the Palin’s eldest son was allegedly shipped off to Iraq to rid the family of potential public-relations powder keg of an OxyContin-chomping vandal prone to violence.

A number of Alaskans share on-the-record close encounters with Planet Palin. But much of the most damning detail is presented under the cloak of anonymity that McGinniss claims to have provided reluctantly. The continuing fear of Palin retribution, the author argues, is alive and well in Wasilla.

    One example:

  19. Anonymous7:41 AM

Now THIS is a great review of the book...Do go and read the whole review, but this part really popped out for me:

McGinniss claims to have taken not a single photograph or recording of his neighbours during his time in Wasilla. But when Palin first learned the identity of her neighbour, a quick Facebook update alerted her online loyalists and suddenly, the 67-year-old author, his wife, his agent and his publisher were besieged with death threats, sparking national headlines

McGinniss, whose previous writings on Alaska were critically acclaimed, describes how some locals came to his rescue. The “Wasilla Welcome Wagon” included one group who brought him a flag and his choice of six handguns. Another stranger arrived with keys and a map to his house, telling McGinniss he was welcome anyone. “Hell, I’ve even got an AK-47 you might like.”

The rented house was unfurnished and after buying two armchairs, McGinniss struggled to find someone willing to deliver, lest the Palins find out. Finally, Dewey Taylor, a retired schoolteacher, dropped off the furniture. The next night his truck had its driver’s-side window blown out as Taylor slept.

McGinnis describes the Palin practice of vanquishing enemies as a “potentially dangerous character flaw.”

“She has no sense of proportion, no ability to modulate her response. She’s over-the-top in all directions: rah-rah cheerleading for those she supports, spewing vitriolic condemnation of anyone who challenges her.

“If this is how she reactions, as a private citizen, to an unwelcome neighbour next door, what would she do as president if the Iranian government suddenly irked her?”

Joe McGinniss Does Not Have the Hots for Sarah Palin

Todd Palin's statement on The Rogue, Joe McGinniss's biography of Sarah Palin, resurrects an old chestnut from the 2010 furor that came when McGinniss moved into the house next door to his subject.

Joe's son told the media he advised his dad not to move from the East Coast to become our next door neighbor, but said his dad "was just waiting for Todd to be out of the picture."

That was a quote Joe McGinniss, Jr., gave to Ben Smith. It was also a joke. I talked to McGinniss, Sr., after reading the book for an article that will appear later today, and asked him about Todd's accusation.

"I loved it!" said McGinniss. "It sounds like Todd actually didn't understand that Joe was making a joke. Is Todd seriously worried that I had designs on his wife? Really? It's more of the same. Fortunately, the book is available now, so anyone can see that it's a joke."

The younger McGinniss is still making jokes. Here's a screenshot of his Facebook page. Notice who his favorite athlete is.

"So racist Todd Palin," says McGinniss, Jr., "who used to enjoy terrorizing, beating and calling the only African-American student in his high school the n-word, doesn't get the joke? Shocker. East Coast establishment Whole Foods humor doesn't translate well into Teabonics?"

On the Facebook update: "I'm old school. John Starks, Rex Chapman, Glenn Rice were among my basketball heroes. But I only recently went looking for him to add to my favorite athlete page."

    SARAH PALIN SPEAK FOR YOURSELF.

  24. Anonymous7:51 AM

It is possible that, after so many instances in which Palin has milked the notion that she’s under attack--by her political enemies, by the lamestream media, for daring to ask her questions--reality has at last caught up with her siege mentality. It’s precisely because it is so easy for the Palin camp to make claims of ill intentions and poor judgment against anyone writing about her that The Rogue deserved to be written by someone with purer motives and a greater regard for accuracy. Well, and because there are such things as facts, and they matter.

But then, the Palin camp is serving up its own strange version of reality, too. Todd gave a statement to ABC in response to McGinniss’ book in which he seemed to imply that McGinniss had, erm, romantic intentions toward his wife:

I'd ask the fathers and husbands of America to consider our privacy when one summer day I found this guy on the deck of the rental property, just 18 feet away next door to us, staring like a creep at my wife while she mowed the lawn in her shorts. … Joe's son told the media he advised his dad not to move from the East Coast to become our next door neighbor, but said his dad "was just waiting for Todd to be out of the picture.”

    Huh?

Setting aside claims of hypocrisy for a moment, let me ask each of you:

Think about all your decisions that make up your youth. Why did you make those decisions? Would people understand your inner thought process if they've never met you? How would you feel if outsiders felt they understand everything about you based on surface information and thirdhand sources?

How would you feel if you were a third party who is continually drug into matters that have no logical basis for determining whether the subject at hand is suited for a life in public service?

THAT , dear bloggers, is why good people defend Sarah. It's not that they turn a blind eye. It's that they accept her as human, just like them.

It's impressive Gryphen has disclosed details of his past to offer people the chance to get to know the blogger himself. But because it is impossible to know what others think, why they do what they do, or why they turn out the way they do.

It is personal, which is why unauthorized biographies are typically frowned upon by the subjects they cover.

All anon sources can do is comment on instances they may or may not have witnessed. Instances are just that, instances that encapsulate one moment.

People fail to understand that there are many people who only have positive experiences with the Palins. But because they don't wish to be included in the media onslaught and diabolical nature of reporters, they continue living quietly.

And to Anon 6:59, the affair is not bigger news because it involves an innocent party who is living happily post-alleged affair.

The author was already famously at rhetorical war with the Palins, having audaciously rented the house next to theirs in order to write the book. One day, McGinniss called in a local handyman, who arrived with cardboard duct-taped over his truck’s licence plates. “I don’t need any bulls--t from those paranoid f--kers next door,” the handyman explained.

Can I presume *paranoid f--kers* is Alaskan for *strong, happy family* - no?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anonymous @7:18, if you don't get it, I'll explain why we get to judge her parenting. It's because from the moment Palin stepped on the national stage, she presented herself as a paragon of family values. She posed as a practicing Christian, a fierce mama grizzly when it came to her children, an energy expert, and a woman who could hunt, shoot, and field dress a moose. All of this was part of her political platform. She had no true understanding of political issues, so she went for the super-mom-Christian-rugged outdoorswoman pose.

And pose it was. It all rang false with many of us, and over time, the real Palin was exposed. We noticed how much school Piper missed, we saw Trig being dragged around the country inadequately dressed, without his glasses and hearing aids, and clearly not receiving the daily therapy so crucial to a special needs child. We read about the preposterous "wild ride" in Sarah's own words. We heard Bristol make vulgar, spiteful comments on DWTS. We saw Sarah, Todd, and Willow bully a teacher in Alaska who posted an anti-Palin sign on her own property.

Palin revealed herself, with every word out of her mouth, to be profoundly ignorant, mean-spirited, and interested only in self-promotion and in bashing President Obama, the object of her envy and obsession.

She has brought nothing but negativity and stupidity to the political discourse of our country. She has disgustingly lowered the overall tone of politics in our nation--a feat I wouldn't have thought possible if I hadn't observed it myself since the three years Palin came to national attention.

As we've learned from IM and other blogs, and as Joe McGinniss recently said, Palin is a fraud. Since she has paraded herself before the American public as possessing certain qualities, we who now see that she is indeed a fraud are calling bullshit. If she doesn't like it, she can sit down and shut up and we'll leave her alone.

If you still don't want to face the truth about Palin, don't visit Gryphen's blog.

Hanson is a weeny. I'd have had more respect for him if after the very public Wasilla affair and breakup of the business, if Brad had stood up for himself, but no, he continued to allow the Palins (with probably tacit approval of their "church") to just tell everyone "nothing to see here" and to make Brad keep his mouth shut. To be fair, he lost his wife over it too. Probably wanted to just forget the whole thing and put it behind him. But he's still a weeny.

And Sarah is STILL a bad Mom.

  47. Anonymous8:18 AM

Not surprised here either. One of the only things the Palin people are good at is making shit up. They can craft a lie like no other.Remember the letters to the editors.

Brad's statement came from "Palin allies". Who are these allies? And shouldn't the fact that they are allies prove that the statement will be self-serving.

Palin's allies had no problem creating and sending a statement for the Anchorage PD to release exonerating Pimp Tawdy.

I don't even think Tawd new about the statement that was put out earlier in the week. There were way to many big words for it to have come from him. Tawd probably left after hearing the Glenn Rice news, so to deflect Granny put out a statement for Tawd to make it look like he was defending her.If he was so offended why didn't the tough guy get some TV time? Why didn't he go on great to defend Granny? I think it's because he's not defending her.In Palin world, up is down and down is up, so if it appears he's defending her, he's probably not.

Why is the media so lazy that they just take a statement from anyone. Why didn't they confirm it with Hanson if it didn't come from him? This is why Granny has been able to get away with so much.

  54. Gryphen - Do you know if the rumors were a perceived problem during Sarah's 2002 failed bid for the GOP nomination for Lt. Governor?

In Feb. 2003, Carolyn Hanson, Tod Richards, and Ron Richards deeded a share of property they owned to TODD making HIM a 25% equal partner. Brad Hanson and Sarah Palin NEVER owned any part of the property even though Sarah claimed they did on her APOC disclosure forms while she was governor.

Why would she do that? Was the property transfer made because they were such good friends or because the Palins wanted to set up a cover story to make it look that way?

  58. There was a Brad Hanson statement in 2008, too, using the same faulty logic that a jointly owned cabin proved there wasn't an affair.

Brad Hanson - “Todd and I are still friends. We own a cabin together. I talked to him four times this week. Does that sound like there was a disagreement.”

    http://gawker.com/5054219/sarah-palins-other-man-brad-hanson-the-plausible-details-at-last

Could this be why so many people are afraid to speak up about the Palins. Was Dar Millier's death an example of what could happen to you and your loved ones, dogs included if you dare to speak out?

"Firefighters found the 54-year-old Miller unconscious and badly burned, but still alive in her Wasilla home Jan. 5. Though a cause has yet to be established, the long-smoldering fire apparently started near a bed on the first floor, burning so hot it charred beams and melted pictures on the wall. Miller’s two dogs died next to her.

I can state with certainty that Dar Miller, the sweet and lovely woman who perished in a suspicious house fire in 2008 was ASKED to assist in caring for Trig. I do not know whether she ever considered or accepted the job. I cannot stand to think that her death was the result of a purposeful act.

However, I find it extremely suspicious that any attempt to access records or evidence of the house fire (which should be public record if the case was ruled accidental death and closed) are met with what I can only describe as inappropriately aggressive stonewalling.

I can state with absolute certainty that virtually the only thing completely destroyed beyond repair in the arson fire at the church was several file cabinets filled with files related to births, adoptions, and foster care placements. Considering these were metal file cabinets, the arsonist must have opened the drawers and poured or placed an accelerant IN them.

    http://www.halfsigma.com/2011/06/when-will-we-find-out-the-truth-about-sarah-palin-and-trig.html

..."As with the fire that claimed Dar Miller's life, any attempt to obtain evidentiary reports or investigative statements on this incident are met with complete and volatile obfuscation."

Why isn't the FBI looking into this?

Now THIS is a terrific article!

Cocaine, wild affairs and child neglect - the chains that could derail Sarah Palin's bid for the presidency

...For some time the butt of vicious late-night chat-show jokes, this could prove to be the last straw for Palin.

Moreover, another damning book is coming out on the same day as McGinniss’s. Written by Levi Johnston, Bristol Palin’s ex-boyfriend with whom she had a child while still a teenager, it will paint a similarly unflattering portrait of the Palin family.

Johnston claims that Bristol was so angry when her mother became pregnant with Trig, her fifth child, that she wanted to get pregnant, too. While this claim clearly contradicts McGinniss’s assertion that Trig is actually Bristol’s child, they will only add to the feeding frenzy of scandal.

On the horizon is an unsympathetic film by Nick Broomfield, the Left-wing British film-maker. Broomfield, who made a 1994 film about Margaret Thatcher in which he claimed she was aloof and out-of-touch, spent months in Palin’s home town of Wasilla trying to get locals to dish the dirt.

Some obliged and his film, Sarah Palin: You Betcha!, is peppered with critical anecdotes from neighbours and former employees who have fallen foul of the ex-governor.

Fellow Republican Steve Schmidt, John McCain’s chief strategist who championed Mrs Palin as his Vice- Presidential running mate, also sticks the knife in.

‘This is a person that’s literally in the middle of 40, 50, 60 different feuds,’ he tells Broomfield.

‘She’ll fight with anybody. That this is the character of someone who aspires to the American Presidency, I find spine-chilling.’

Luckily, amongst the wild wild Alaskans, there are good people. I worked with a young woman from Anchorage who put herself through Yale and RADA in London. Good, hardworking people do come from small town and make something of themselves in a respectful manner. This is why it's imperative NOT to stereotype a state, a city, or a religion.

Jesus Christ! The nasty, sordid little drama surrounding the Palins and all of Wasilla is like some fucked up mix of "Peyton Place," "Jersey Shore,"and "Debbie Does Dallas" with a few lines of coke and some meth thrown in for good measure.

Brad Hanson, when was the last time you actually SAW your own balls, dude? Does Palin at least grant you visitation to your nuts now and then? Palin OWNS you. YOU are HER bitch. What's it like being a chihuahua on a leash? If you want your life back all you've got to do is grab your nuts and tell the truth. As they say, "the truth SHALL set you free." You AND your balls.

Hanson, YOU are in the catbird seat. You actually have far more leverage over Palin than you realize. You could blackmail her and simply threaten to out her, but you'd just be sort of renting your own balls. If you actually DO out her, then it's all over. Never again can she bully, threaten, or emasculate you. Yeah, it'd be messy and nasty, but it kind of looks like that's what it is now and on top of all that, you don't actually own your own balls, do you?

You would also make a GIANT load of money. More money than you have ever seen. The kind of money that would make Sarah Palin's head spin around counterclockwise. The kind of money that could set your family up for the rest of your lives.

I don't care how scared people are of Palin, she is just NOT THAT POWERFUL. Goddamn, a ragtag bunch of average Libyans have just toppled Gaddafi, one of the world's most ruthless dictators, and Palin ain't no Gaddafi. She is a slutty, shrieking, greedy ass, ignoramus bully that thinks dinosaurs roamed the Earth with man. She is a fucking MORON! Yet, she rules Wasilla with this palpable stench of fear and terror.

Wake up, Wasilla! God did not empower Palin; YOU did. Bullies have no power over us that we do not willingly cede to them. If you finally get pissed off enough that you simply want to be rid of the bully, then her hold over you is gone. The people of Libya figured this out. When are YOU going to figure it out?

Yes this guy moved in next door. He'd come to Mat-Su to write an article and found so much 'dirt' he landed a book deal. Is it vulture behaviour? Of course. That is what the media does to famous people. what a shocker.

So, when he moves in next door, Sarah makes a comment to the media about McGuiness which runs along the lines of "I don't know what information he expects looking into Piper's bedroom widow and the family swimming hole."

Yeah, you got the overtones of that comment loud and clear, didn't you? As you were expected to.

Then there's Todd's comments about Sarah mowing the lawn in her shorts and McGuiness' creepy obsession with her. Just massive overtones of a bad hollywood film where the psycho moves in next door. The only thing McGuiness is obsessed with is his pay check.

Todd of course in the statement never says I have never taken coke neither has my wife. He just says the book is full of lies and innuendo.

His anecdotes about life as Palin's unwanted neighbor are hilarious, riveting and the most enjoyable part of the book.

McGinnis paints a deeply unflattering portrait of Palin, casting her as ill-informed, coldblooded, narcissistic and vengeful. Others have offered a similar view of the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, from John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's best-selling "Game Change" to Levi Johnston, the former fiance of Palin's eldest daughter, Bristol, who has given many interviews about the Palin family and whose own book about them comes out next week.

...McGinnis debunks her image as a fiscal conservative, noting that she left Wasilla with nearly $20 million in bonded debt when she left office and lobbied for millions in federal earmarks for the town and later the state — the kind of "pork barrel" spending conservatives typically deplore.

McGinnis also suggests Palin was overly driven by her evangelical Christian faith, ousting aides who did not share her beliefs and censoring books in the local library.

But McGinnis' experience living next door to the Palins for five months offers the most telling portrait of Sarah Palin's style and personality.

"I still have that same old dopey, same old answer that I'm sure you guys are getting sick of hearing, and that is I'm still thinking about it, praying about it, contemplating, talking to my family," said Palin. "I'm sick of giving the same answer, believe me. I'm anxious to give an answer and get on with life one way or the other."

No matter what she decides, the next couple of weeks will bring a barrage of unwelcome publicity to the former Alaska governor. Two books and one documentary by a well-known British filmmaker, none sympathetic, are on the verge of release.

Author Joe McGinniss has taken a bit of the shine off Sarah Palin's wholesome image.

WHAT has happened to Sarah Palin? Only three years ago, at her electrifying introduction to the national political stage, she was being lauded as an American Margaret Thatcher destined to save the country's right.

While we all assumed she would then be among the first Republicans to join the battle for the 2012 nomination, Mrs Palin skulked in the background and morphed into a pundit, author and reality TV star.

And now come revelations in an unauthorised biography that will test the commitment of her most ardent followers and probably kill off what was left of her White House prospects.

The story has lit up the internet and the allegations do have a certain ring of truth to them. Besides, people will want to believe them, such is the prurient interest in Mrs Palin. Sex appeal has always been part of her grip on the public imagination. She positively oozes it, as I discovered at a black-tie party in Washington a few months ago. Lighting up the room, she displayed the magnetic and, dare I say it, Clintonian laser beam that can stun and seduce all at once.

The idea of a conservative Christian woman with fashionable glasses, a lithe body and a twinkle in her eye who turns out to have (had) a wicked side (and, if McGinniss's sources are to be believed, a brief ''fetish'' for black men) titillates on so many levels that it hardly bears thinking about.

Many of Mrs Palin's supporters, of course, will simply refuse to believe the book's revelations, or forgive them, especially the sexual ones. Liberals, for their part, will point to the hypocrisy of her support for the promotion of teenage sexual abstinence over sex education.

More troubling to her small-town, heartland audience will be the claim of cocaine use. It will cause some of the faithful to conclude that Mrs Palin is nothing but an opportunist and a phoney.

The rest of the world has suspected as much for a while. As we have seen, she rails against federal power but as governor of Alaska lapped up Washington's largesse. A champion of fiscal sanity, the former mayor of Wasilla left the town of 7000 with a $US22 million deficit.

    O/T but funny as hell!

When Leno asked who Bachmann would like to have as her running mate, she tried to lighten the tone. “You’re taken. You don’t want a cut in pay,” she teased Leno.

“Well, we’d probably have an argument over the gay thing,” he replied.

Leno did get in one good one-liner, though, while discussing the Tea Party's uncompromising position on raising the nation's debt ceiling.

“If you become president -- and you seem pretty strident in your views," Leno said.

    “Convicted. I’m convicted,” Bachmann interjected.

“Convicted?” Leno replied. “No, you don’t get convicted until after you’re in office. That’s later. You have to get elected first."

Sarah was thrust into the spotlight in 2008 when she became a Republican Vice Presidential nominee. That year, she was allegedly caught with her pants down. The National Enquirer claimed that the First Lady of Alaska had been keeping a lover. Her Presidential running partner, Sen. John McCain, denied the rumor immediately on her behalf.

Maybe this is why Sarah has been delaying her announcement, I mean, she is still deciding whether or not to run. She didn't hesitate when McCain asked her. She took a family vote (among the children) about quitting. Sarah has been waiting to see what's in the book, and more important, how people are reacting to it.

We already have had politicians who have sex with someone other than the person to whom they are married. It's no big deal anymore. It doesn't matter whatshe and Todd sniffed or smoked. The entire department of the Interior, under Bush did the same thing and no one cared.

The thing that made Sarah Palin a laughing stock in 2008 was Sarah Palin herself. Her deer in the headlights interviews, "In what regard, Charlie?" and with Couric, "Any and all of them" sank her ship. Sarah hadn't prepared for her interviews. In the last three years, she has done nothing to augment her lack of knowledge about history, politics or anything else. Her last flub was that amazing retelling of the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. She is ignorant, and does not learn anything new.

We have already had one incurious president (who had substance abuse issues). We don't need another. If Sarah can't take care of her own family, she can't run the United States. Most of all, the stories that are the most consistent are the ones where the Palins threaten and bully people. We already had Mr.My Way or the Highway, GWB. We don't need another Karl Rove thug style administration.

Thin skin? Palin should have waited for the book to come out first, and then make her own appearances to "refudiate" the lies in the book. Sending out Todd with a script that he can't remember is the same thing as the disclaimer that Hanson can't remember making. LouSarah has been writing fake letters for a long time. Sarah is still her own worst enemy.

Sarah decided to take the money and have her ghostwriter create a Sarah -not the one you paid money to learn about.

If you don't want to share your truth, is it acceptable to pretend and sell your fans a book of fairytales, because that's what Sarah sold her loyal followers, that's how much she thinks of you. @ emrysa:

I agree. I'm trying to think if a Palin friend has ever spoken up in defense of the family, or offered to tell a different story, or attempted to "explain" the true Palins. And by "friend," I mean someone who is not on their payroll or not on the take somehow. If the Palins are so beloved, where are their brave friends? They've got nothing to lose.

It's frustrating that American reviewers are focusing on the tawdry but outdated details, such as the sex and drugs. I'm far more interested in what credible and named people such as Gary Wheeler have to say about her actions and temperament as governor, because I think they are especially revealing and damning. She and her acolytes keep insisting that her record as governor are what make her presidential material, after all.

Nobody really can prove she was a bad mother (even though I believe it's true) until Todd or her kids or her parents say something, and they won't. But Alaskans know from experience what an incompetent fraud she really was as a leader.

What's also striking about Palin revelations in general is how consistent they are. All of the books (that aren't intentional hagiographies) produce the same portrait, whether it's a political book such as "Game Changer" or a tell-all like Frank Bailey's book. You'd think the press would recognize that.

It's really amazing how suddenly they're all coming to her defense. I'm afraid the resistance against considering the pregnancy hoax seriously has only hardened because now they "feel sorry for her."

The Good News is that Sarah Palin now has a real opportunity to rise above all this chatter.

She should get back in her living room and record a new message for her viewers:

"I wish to retract my former statement that President Obama's Health Care plan involves 'Death Panels.' Unfortunately, I misread that portion of the document.

"Upon reflection, I find that I am FOR the Public Option, in Health Care... Because of The First Dude's mother's Yup'ik heritage, which I cherish, my children are entitled to government funded health care.

"I believe that NOW is the time to push forward with a Public Option that will provide a lower cost Health Care option that is more affordable for 'rill' Americans in this time of high unemployment.

"Government funded Health Care has been of great benefit to our family and I wish to join with others in promoting legislation for the Public Option.

"As well, I believe that there should be the option of buying into a Medicare plan for people under the age of 65 yrs and their families.

"As you know, my Church affiliation is very important to me... and I believe that these changes will benefit the American people greatly in the future.

    "Thank you.

Below are excerpts from a Washington Post article called "Gov. Mom" which appeared on September 2, 2008 -- just days after the MSM learned that McCain had chosen a virtual unknown as his V.P.

Just for laughs, the sources are in bold, and the claims which seem taken from either a press release or a crazy person are in bold italics.

"From interviews with those closest to Palin emerges a description of a hectic lifestyle, but one in which the hominess and rural community of Alaska have enabled her to have her kids around her while she works and have offered a deep bench of family and friends for child-care support ...

"Even in the story of Trig's birth, Palin paints herself as feisty and fearless. She told the local media that she noticed her amniotic fluid was leaking right before she gave a speech in Texas last April. After her keynote address to the National Governors Association, and obtaining the consent of her doctor, Palin boarded an eight-hour flight to Anchorage. She never told the airline she was in labor. She and her husband drove 45 minutes to her hometown medical center; the baby was born seven hours later.

"The McCain campaign said it could not confirm that Palin was still breastfeeding Trig, but the governor said as much in a interview with People magazine on Friday. "What I've had to do . . . is, in the middle of the night, put down the BlackBerrys and pick up the breast pump," she worked into an answer to a question about whether she was a morning person.
Palin kept her pregnancy secret for seven months, stunning even her staff with the announcement. She pointedly said at the time she would not miss work. "I had Piper on a Monday, and I was back to work on a Tuesday. I even brought her to work with me," she said, referring to the birth of her daughter. (end)

So ... why should these excerpts (written after,-- at MOST -- a few days of research) be considered the Absolute Gospel Truth ... but those written by an acclaimed best-selling author with a 40-year career as a professional investigative journalist are nothing but "dirty lies" ?

Kind of O/T but I've noticed in 35 years of college teaching that fundamentalists (of any faith) have a terrible time with that critical thinking thing. It requires an open mind and the ability to clearly articulate what you need to know, then a willingness to search all sources regardless of whether they agree with your preconceived notions or not. How can people say that Sarah was a good mother?

I have not seen one picture of the Palin house where you see a swing set, playground, sandbox, balls in the yard or anything kid friendly.

There was a family photo op when somebody was sitting on a toy one day, that's about it.

Then there was the fake photo/video op of Sarah sitting at the cement slab patio table pretending to be reading while complaining that Joe McGinniss was starring at her. Then it showed Sarah moved to the side of the house and sat in the bed of a pick up truck so that Joe would not peek at her.

Funny thing, prior to that picture, there are absolutely no pictures of the house with the table out there and what's weird the table only had 4 chairs as if they just bought the table for the photo op.

Let's see, there is Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, Trig, Todd and Sarah but the table Sarah was sitting at only had 4 chairs for 7 people?

I'm sure since Sarah says they are a close family they would have friends and family over for a bbq which should include Sally, Creepy Chuckie, Aunt Molly and the rest of the grifters.

Where do they all sit during the bbq?
Hey, something is screwy, I did not see a bbq grill in the yard in any picture? How can you have a bbq without a bbq grill?

What about Bristol's lovers, Willows gang members, Track's drug buddies? Don't they get a seat at the table when they visit for the family bbq? Where does Brad Hanson or Glen Rice sit or do they only come over when Todd is on the North Slope and the kids are in school?

Oh Oh, sounds like Sarah is lying again.

The poor dude suffers from "selective whamneisia". If he was a gentleman, he'd say he remembers it fondly, but he's so damned confuded, beffuddled, and confounded because he didn't call the AP nor make any statements.

The National Enquirer is getting a lot of stories right lately. It's a shame the "palin camp" can't get their story straight, or at least warn the guy in advance, they would be exploiting his name.

PS Sarah has some strange taste in men, just sayin. Brad looks like someone put a bowl on his head and gave him a "Moe" haircut.

Perhaps whether it was arson or not, the Palin's benefit from the doubt in the public mind as it creates a climate of terror which helps keep other secrets under wraps. I did not know this woman but she sounds like a kind, lovely person and I feel for her. I hope someday someone cares enough to follow up on this story and dig out the truth....

I saw the news that Kara Kennedy died today at the age of 51. Not to be mean but I immediately thought "who is she?" and clicked on the article to learn that she was the daughter of Ted Kennedy who was a statesman for more than 30 years. Never knew his kids' names, even though they are Kennedy's. Couldn't name a single Santorum, though I understand there are a slew of them, Romney or Bachmann. Only know about the Obamas because they are living in the White House. But I know all about the human shield Piper Diaper and her little nephew and campaign prop Trig. (Poor things.)

I still want to know what REALLY happened with the tawdry hookergate. Also too.

    Got crime? Check.

Got criminal charges? Not for the johns and janes as of yet. So that might be nothing unusual. Or maybe some important people are getting off in more than one way if you know what I mean.

Got bogus denial? More than one.

    No Rolodex bitchez? HAHA

Shailey still missing some property? That's what she says.

I wonder if Sarah heard that Bob and Mark were going to ask her questions on the topic of tawdry hookergate. You know inspired by: "Heck, all they had to do was ask me or ask Todd himself, 'Hey Todd, you been hanging out with hookers in Anchorage?' and he'd tell the truth. 'Cause with the way things have been lately I'd sure understand her not wanting to get into tawdry hookergate this week.

    So between all these other things and now wondering what Bob and Mark( and Brad Hanson also too) might know about tawdry hookergate;
there might be some more to come.

So when I hear claims of snorting cocaine off of oil drums, and sports reporters banging the story, that sounds very tawdry. That's just one reason I'm pretty sure that we haven't seen the last of tawdry hookergate.

This whole Palinapolooza is a cross between Jersey Shore, The Sopranos and Deliverance. And I sincerely apologize for making the residents and visitors to the Jersey Shore and the mafia look bad by mentioning them in connection with the Palin Posse. The Palin Posse seems to be well documented in recent books and films.

To the person who says we shouldn't judge anyone--how exactly is Democracy supposed to work if we all put our thinking caps in neutral and don't evaluate the candidates ie. JUDGE them. Sure we don't know everything but we have to take the evidence we determine to be most trustworthy and consistent and come up with a judgement on whether that person is the right kind of person to lead our country. Do you disagree with that? In our personal lives it may sometimes make sense to hold our tongue and not comment about people we know who seem to behave badly because sometimes there are reasons we don't know about. That's a different thing from making political judgements which have to include personal qualities like ethics and morality and trustworthiness (ie do they lie?). Those qualities can seriously impact the country and the world.

Reading through Be Rational and Compassionate's comment @ 7:52
leaves me with the same my-skin-is-crawling feeling that I get when I have to listen to 5 minutes of a slimy televangelist or watch a video of some fundamentalist creep.

There's been a noticeable change in the tone of the PalinBots since parts of Joe's book have been released. They've gone from vulgar and vicious screeches to "we're all human", "Sarah's just like all other humans", "how would you feel if..", "she's so strong and loving" "don't judge, you have no right to judge". "it's no one's business how someone else raises their children", all in ever so gentle, ever so persuasive voices. I almost hear organ music in the background.

Rational and Compassionate, are you a preacher? Have you been called in to "lay hands on Sarah and cast out her demons", you know, get rid of those "evil forces inside of her"? With the intention of selling Sarah's brand of fundamentalist bullshit to the public that she's been "forgiven" therefore we have to forgive her?

Is this Sarah's last desperate effort to hang on because Sarah knows what is coming at her from Joe McGinniss' The Rogue, Levi's book, the Broomfield documentary, plus Fred's book? Does she know she can't deny this stuff any longer because there's proof out there so the plan is to comment on every blog on the internet and demand that the world accept her sins "in Christian charity and in the name of Jesus because we are all sinners"? Is this a Jim Bakker or Jimmy Swaggert re-run?

Ain't gonna work with me. The ol' "I found Jesus in jail and I'm Born Again, Praise the Lord" crap doesn't fly with me especially when the guilty party has spent their life as a born-agin'er as Sistah Sarah has.

Who cares if "people love Sarah"?
People "love" Warren Jeffs too. And 900+ people "loved" Jim Jones.

"All anon sources can do is comment on instances they may or may not have witnessed. Instances are just that, instances that encapsulate one moment."

What are you trying to say there? Do you know? Because you know, that's not all that anonymous sources can do - they can testify in court or to authors who will get their stories out there.

Todd and his two friends had their own "instance that encapsulated a moment" didn't they? Their moment ended with a child getting 77 stitches. Sarah seems to have had more than one "instance that encapsulated a moment" with drugs, sexual escapades, child neglect and abuse. Only took David Kernal a "moment" to figure out Sarah's password but Sarah and Bristol lied in "instances that encapsulated a moment" for them but ended in one year in jail for Kernal. Jarad Loughner took 6 lives and ruined other lives with his "instance that encapsulated a moment". I'm sure it only took Sarah's Camp an "instance that encapsulated a moment" to draw those targets on the map.

Why is it that Sarah's "moments" have to be ignored and "forgiven" but everybody else's "moments" are evil and have to be punished by Sarah and her "Camp"?

It is my hope that the rest of Sarah's "moments be encapulated" in jail or an insane asylum.

I just figured out exactly WHY it's not just "okay" to judge Palin and the pack of wolves she calls her family ... it's NECESSARY to judge them !

Running for elected office is just like selling a product, only the stakes are much, MUCH higher -- especially when it's Sarah Palin threatening to run for THE most important and powerful job in the world.

What would happen if a company mounted a HUGE advertising campaign that totally misrepresented its product ? That LIED about how well it's worked in the past or what it's really capable of doing, or that it is, in fact, highly toxic ?

When the truth was finally discovered, that company would deserve to get busted big time for its lies, and word of it would be spread far and wide.

Well, Sarah Palin is guilty of false advertising !

Bristol's "abstinence," Track's "enlistment," Todd's "love" ? Her family sure isn't as she's advertised it.

The Bridge to Nowhere, the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act project, making government "fair and transparent" ? Her accomplishments aren't at ALL what she's said they were.

Using private email accounts to conduct official business to circumvent her state's Public Records Act ? Being found guilty of abusing her power during Troopergate yet consistently claiming she was cleared of all ethics charges ? All the of people who literally fear for their lives because this "good Christian" woman has a desperate need for revenge ? She hasn't just misrepresented her ethics, she really believes God has chosen her to lead !?

For each and every one of example I just cited, there's solid, documented proof that Palin hs lied over and over again.

But has she ever -- EVEN ONCE -- apologized ? Acknowledged a sliver of guilt ? Maybe even admitted she might have made a mistake ? Hah !

Sorry that I'm going on and on about stuff that's already so well known to everyone here -- including the creepy Palinbots.

But I just suddenly got so ENRAGED that some self-righteous, semi-literate troll would DARE to post here that nobody should judge this horse's ass !

So f*** that troll, f*** Sarah Palin, f*** her whole filthy white trash family, and f*** all the psychotic bots who still support her !

The whole lousy bunch of 'em should be locked up in mental institutions until they're really capable of loving this country rather than trying to destroy it for their own personal gain.

    End of sermon, AMEN.

Happy to oblige. You see people have friends who know them well. Then they become ex-friends, who talk to authors. Just because they're ex-friends, doesn't mean they don't know her well.

Also, there are co-workers, such as all the people in the governor's office, governor's mansion, legislators, cleaning people, nannies, nail technicians, etc. You know, the people you see every day, work with. They're not necessarily your friends, but they know you well. Treat them badly, and they talk to authors.

Hello all. I'm finally home and couldn't be more thrilled. I'm re-acclimating, finishing some things for work, unpacking, and so on. Very much looking forward to collaborating with Gryphen this coming week.

I just wanted to drop a few notes because SO much has been going on. Sarah is in an acutely manic state and I think her mind must be like a pressure cooker these days. Todd did NOT know about the Rice incident and Sarah had no idea it would ever come up again. (hardy har har, I said "come up again" ;)

Anyway, Todd is PISSED. Way more so at Sarah than Joe. Todd also was not at all pleased with the "statement" Sarah's team put out. (penned by Rebecca Mansour) They didn't even run it by Todd before sending it out. He was very angry, saying not only did it not sound like him at all, but that all people were going to get out of it is "I make my wife mow the lawn".

Much more to say on these issues about what is and will be coming out in books and other avenues, but that's for another day.

One thing I just found out over the weekend--I was asking my person from Sarah's circle why the hell I'd heard about Willow tooling around in a seventy thousand dollar SUV. Last I knew, Sarah and Todd were determined not to have another PR fiasco courtesy of Willow and were really trying to toe the line with her...including telling her she needed to get a job if she wanted a car. They said if she saved a certain percentage they would foot the rest. (I guess that's "toeing the line" in the land of Palin)

Well miss Willow decided to play dirty, probably because that's all she sees everyone else in her family doing. She basically demanded the use of her vehicle of choice "or else". Todd called her bluff--"or else what?"

Turns out Willow came up with a pretty grown up threat. "I bet lots of people would be interested to hear whose purse I really found an ultrasound picture in".

I think Bristol's Trig pregnancy might have been "outed" very late, and by Willow who was snooping through Bristol's purse.

Other than the media and Todd, who is coming forward to defend Sarah. The media is owned by a lot of Sarah's cronies. Where are her "friends", Bristol, her children, her parents, her sister and other family members, her pastor, anyone who is from Alaska. When do we hear from these people defending her. Joe got people to talk for his book, how about now Sarah getting some of those people who love her to come forward to defend her. The family is hiding? Are they shutting up because they are going to sue?
Or, is the family ready to vote now if Sarah should run now? She probably won't run now because she does not want the media to hurt her family or children with all this gossip. She didn't care before with all the gossip about Track, Willow, Bristol and Todd's massage therapist. What is different now?

So if no one is to judge another parents parenting skills, what do you think will become of everyone? Sarah Palin is not so fucking special that she gets a pass on this one (like she does on EVERYTHING else!)...we should all hold her feet to the fire when it comes to her parenting skills, just as I would expect everyone I know to do with me. But here's the difference, like me, most people are self-policing. We don't need people to judge us because we are already doing the right thing. We know when we've made mistakes, reflect on them, and commit ourselves to not making those mistakes again. Sarah is an inept, ill-equipped, awful mom, simple as that. We all know parents in our personal lives who would rather risk the safety and lives of their children than to be inconvenienced by a moment of selflessness. Yeah, I got Sarah Palin pegged, and I am more than willing to do God's bidding by passing judgement on all the injustices of the world, because someone has to!
