I posted the pictures yesterday, and thought that would be it for this story.
But then I saw this video.
As a man who is a complete sucker for babies, I cannot adequately explain how seeing this immediate connection with the little ones shapes my view of the President. But it certainly does.
That may seem silly to some, but for somebody like myself who has spent decades working with children,or who is the mother of their own very young ones, it will make perfect sense.
I keep imagining Fox News desperately scouring the internet looking for at least ONE picture of a baby crying in the President's arms. Good luck with that, because I don't think it exists.
I'm pretty sure there are "people" out there horrified this mother and father let some black dude handle their child. The baby looks totally into it - loved the reach and POTUS's response, like a cookie monster!

If anybody knows Tebow maybe they can contact him and fill him in on what's going on with Sarah Palin and her daughter and how SP's grandson hasn't opened two years worth of X-mas or birthday presents. They are just sitting with his Grandma Johnston waiting to opened with love.

It seems perfectly clear to me: the baby LOVED having the President talk to him alone, and when attention got diverted away from baby, baby said "I want more talk from you."

I too think this tells us a lot. That some of us already know.
Not just because I'm from the Southside of Chicago and an Obama supporter, but his warmth and charm with children, especially being a man, makes me respect him even more. This man has genuine love of children and it speaks volumes for his integrity and full heart. Shame on Palin for her critique of this President. Karma is a bitch and I can't wait for the day this woman is exposed much more (thanks Gryphen) for fraud she has done to our country.

He doesn't talk down to them, he approaches them as if they MATTER to him, that they are WORTH his time, that they have SOMETHING TO CONTRIBUTE to him and he to them. He totally ENGAGES with them, with full focus and attention and the children KNOW this. They are treated as importantly as they absolutely deserve. It is a meeting of souls.

Today is Tripp's "official" birthday and he's three years old. Still sucking on a pacifier and being used as a tool (now where did Bristol get the idea to use a child as a tool?) against her former lover and his family.

A number of my friends in Alaska have announced that they will not be voting for Obama in 2012 because he failed to veto the defense bill that contained that allows the indefinate detention of US citizens on US soil.
Of course this is deplorable. This is why Senator Udall of New Mexico co-sponsored an amendment that would have removed or negated that clause. Since both Begeich and Murkowski declined to even vote on the amendment, I wonder if these same Alaskans will refuse to participate when they come up for re-election. ??

I made a mistake in a previous post. Yes the ultra orthodox lead two parties not two seats. But they are only 10% of the population. And it isn't the US. There are 14 political parties and their representation is distributed.

Spinach dip
I pkg Knorr's Vegetable soup mix
16 ounces of sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 package frozen chopped spinach
1 can (8 oz) sliced water chestnuts
3 green onions (I leave these out because my mom is allergic. But it is better with.)
Thaw out spinach. Squeeze out excess water.
Chop up water chestnuts.
Chop up onions.
combine ingredients in bowl, stirring carefully to make sure there are no clumps of spinach.
Chill for two hours before serving.
Serve with favorite bread. (We like Hawaiian bread.)
Oh and the camera I bought my daughter was a Nikon D5100. (There is a link to it in my post.)
There you go.

There was another today, a young soldier seeing his infant son for the first time.... instead of handing the infant to his wife, he handed him into the President's arms- all three smiled for a photo as the infant drifted off to sleep in the President's arms. Yes, he's amazing.
