Today is the first anniversary of a day that will forever live in infamy.

To this day nobody knows what Jared Loughner cites as the reason for his shooting spree.

But we do know who put those crosshairs over Gabby Giffords district, and who was the MOST responsible for the violent rhetoric that we were hearing leading up to that terrible day.

Don't we?

Palin followers always say the Republicans didn't support Palin after the shootings. It has never occurred to them that maybe all those silent people found her Crosshairs map and rhetoric as disgusting and as distasteful as the rest of us regardless of political party.

Regardless of Palin's excuse, or the media's excuses for her, her map and
rhetoric were a call to violence.

Is this reason enough, for us to boycott all things Palin?

    It is for me.

A heart felt blessing to all the victims and their friends and families.

May something like this never happen again.

    Palin free in 2012!

C4P already has their "tribute" up, and of course it defends poor, put-upon Sarah, the true victim in all of it. Not much action in the comments section though, only one so far.

  4. The silver lining in this tragedy is that Gabby and the other survivors will live long productive lives and contribute positively to our world, and Sarah will only be remembered for crosshairs and weirdhairs.

According to Mark Kelly, Sarah never even picked up her Blackberry to call them after the shooting.

May Sarah rot in hell forever.

Personally, I think Sarah Palin does believe she had something to do with the shootings and it excites her. She is a demagogue who wriggled with glee when peopled followed her lead in openly questioning Obama's motives and morals. She loves the power. it doesn't matter whether or not the shooter was one of her followers. It's enough for Sarah Palin that other people think he was.

The thought that someone might adore her enough to kill for her makes her drool. Plus, there's the added bonus that she could claim to be the real victim. Her incredibly selfish, inhumane Blood Libel speech opened a window into her psychopathy. No sane person would have said those things.

If C4P supports Palin for putting crosshairs on Gabby Giffords, then aren't they "accessories" to Loughner's crimes? From a moral vantage, there is no other conclusion. The world has condemned Palin & her bloodthirsty, racist AIP followers.

I'm a Republican, and I went to that Safeway parking lot in Tucson last January to tell Congresswoman Giffords that I disagreed with her position on health care. I never could have imagined the nightmare that followed.

Six people were killed and 13 more were shot, including Rep. Gabby Giffords and me. My injuries have healed, but my heart still hurts at the memory of nine-year-old Christina Taylor-Green -- she had her whole life ahead of her before she was brutally murdered.

Today marks one year since the shooting. Please take a minute to watch this video of a few of us who were lucky to survive that day and join us in remembering the friends, family and neighbors we lost.

Will Sara do something today to grab the limelight? I suspect she's sitting up there in the wasilla compound plotting out the various strategies she might employ. It has to be a victim move though, something to grab attention and make people collectively go "Oh poor sawa"

Gryphen, are you going to post the video of Palins insane look/words on Fox last night? It shows how nuts she is!
Can you imagine that I'm sure she heard Mark Kelly say He was disappointed Sarah never called, and STILL she has done nada! A normal decent human would at least send a note.
I agree with the person that said her blood libel video truly showed the world Sarahs psychopathology. And it's shocking that in her sick mind, that was the appropriate response.
Sarah: it's never too late to send words of admiration, support AND regret/humility to Gabby. I know you won't but I still had to say it. You have no class, a cold heart and a severe personality disorder.

Why would Palin say just 2 days ago: "I'm all in favor of girls with guns who know their purpose" in regards to the Sarah McKinley (18 year-old who shot an intruder)? Why would Palin insert herself in this story so close to the anniversary of the Tucson shooting?

Is she so merciless and cruel not to see how horrid it was to make glorify guns so close to this day?

She considers this girl a hero because she took a shot at this intruder. No mention of the deceased. No mention of this poor girl's post-trauma and reaction now. The girl's trailer has blood stains that she'll have to clean up and be a reminder of that moment all her life. This girl has a 3 month-old baby and no husband.

Sarah's reactions and her seeming solutions to thing are to just blow up anything that stands in her way. She has no conscience. No wonder Alaskans are afraid to speak up.

I think you are right--she loves to be the leader of a lynch mob. According to McGinniss' book, Chuckie was the same way. She learned it well.

I suspect that's why the GOP won't simply toss her aside. They know she will tell embarrassing stories about them. Their best bet is to ignore her. Good thing they own the media in this country.

On April 1, 2010, author and social activist Marianne Williamson posted this open letter to Sarah Palin on Huffington Post. Today seems a good day to remember Marianne's message, and perhaps the tone deaf ears that refused to listen.

"In my lifetime, we have lost a President, a Civil Rights leader and a Presidential candidate -- all to gun violence. Another President was shot and survived the ordeal, while his press secretary was paralyzed for life. These are not left-right issues; they are not political correctness issues; they are human issues concerning life and death. I am not suggesting you would pick up a gun and shoot anyone; I am suggesting that there are other people who would, however, and in your position as a leading political figure you are stoking fires -- regardless of your intention -- that are simply too dangerous to be safely stoked."

We can't forget the other piece of shit John McCain, he didn't stop her so he is partners with Sarah' Tucson shooting spree.

And are you saying he was connected to the Alaskan group?

Can you be clearer or are you just guessing?

He was obsessed with Gabby before Sarahs crosshair maps.

I do despise Sarah and think she is terrible for our country. She incites the worst element in our society.
But Jared is apparently schizophrenic and I wasn't aware he was even in touch with politics.
It's a severe disease and Jan Brewer has cut almost all psychiatric care for the poor here in Arizona. It's a moral disgrace. Millions of homeless ( many vets) with severe psychiatric disorders and zero help,
The zoo animals and desert plants are treated with more respect than the mentally ill here in Arizona. It's like 49 th in the country for mental health treatment. It was much better for awhile, but ole Jan took care of that.
And she had a severely mentally ill son.
    So Christian of her!

I worry about the hate she still inspires in her followers. Within that group, there are the few crazy enough to still think they are her defenders. The GOP is the enemy; anyone who writes anything negative is the enemy; anyone who slights her by not mentioning her in some way as a viable leader in this election is the enemy, etc.

Soon, the general election will come around and they will realise that her 'jumping in' isn't going to be possible, and it will be liberals and the President who will be named the enemy. This is a huge fear for me- I worry for the country.

Sarah Palin is just as psychotic as Jared Loughner. Every time I hear Palin talking about how close and loving HER family is, I think of the families in Tucson who lost parents, grandparents, spouses, children. In his quest for a position that he wasn't qualified to hold, John McCain unleashed a vile, disgusting, stupid and insane woman on the country. Anonymous at 2:46 PM - Exactly right, that's why it is still very important to keep up a steady drumbeat of justly deserved hard hitting criticism of Sarah Palin. She is but the representative for all of the other equally vile politicians who have been fanning the flames of violence and hatred against every other group of American citizens except for the white, fundie-christian dominionists.

It is big business, but we need to continue to focus attention on this monstrosity - to make it clear just how dangerous they are. Also, the criticism needs to be so unending that it becomes embarrassing and a liability for anyone to be associated with this platform, to make them know - only the truly unintelligent could believe in this propaganda they put out!

Let's keep shining the light and make that business built around Palin and the others become unprofitable, shameful, and the hall mark of a stupidity that only fools would follow!

Involved with militia movements, specifically Alaska's? NO.
    Influenced by rhetoric? ABSOLUTELY.

Jared is crazy. He spouted nonsense, posting stuff on Facebook and YouTube. But where did the nonsense come from? Unique individual ideas born independently in this unsophisticated under-educated mind? NO.

He referenced gold and currency; talked about the devaluation of the U.S. dollar. Blamed politicians for something. Targeted a specific politician at a planned publicized event. Implemented and carried out a plan - prepared with a weapon, took a taxi, etc. This man made a statement. No question.
This stuff is hallmark "survivalist", extreme Tea Party views, neo-Nazi, Militia movements and "taking back" America.

He IS crazy. But craziness and influenced to action are not mutually exclusive. And carrying out a plan requires a certain level of function that a profoundly-disturbed decompensating disorganized individual typically wouldn't be able to manage.

Sure, the Tea Party and Militia movements want to put as much distance as they possibly can between their organizations and Jared. Of course they do.

And the gun sights graphic is still on Sarah Palin's Facebook as we speak...
