I will say that in the future there may be times when I don't have an "Ask Uncle Gryphen" post, simply due to time constraints. It is somewhat time consuming, and if I have a full day I will not be able to respond to questions quickly, or perhaps at all, which would kind of miss the point of attempting to open a dialogue.
Today I have a workout scheduled this morning and only one meeting later on this afternoon, along with my usual load of work, so I should be able to get to the majority of your questions. As usual there are still things that I will not, or cannot, respond to, but those are few and far between.

I have no real idea. Right now it appears that law enforcement is not interested in pursuing any of the criminal activity engaged in by Sarah or Todd, or has been done on their behalf. Hopefully that will change.

Ok, I have a question.
I believe that I have seen you write that you think that Bristol Palin has three children; but, that you do not believe that Trig Palin is her biological child.
Who do you believe is Trig's biological mother, and which children do you think were born to Bristol? If this is a question that you can answer...maybe you could elaborate by including your approximate best guess as to the children's date of birth.
I am not comfortable going too far out on a limb when it comes to how many children Bristol might possibly have, but I think that the evidence supports the fact that she has been pregnant at least three times, with some evidence to suggest even more than that.
I have seen photographs, and heard testimony to support the fact that she was pregnant in 2007, then there was Tripp (Though that was rather bizarre as well), and then DWTS.
However I did mention the doctor who swore she was pregnant another time, and some rumors that have swirled around at various other times as well.
As for Trig's true parentage, I am unable to provide much help there. I have as many theories as Bristol has pregnancies. His birth date, in my opinion, was somewhat earlier than the official April 18, 2008 date however.

No, though I considered it. However the attacks were handled by surrogates that at that time would have been difficult to connect to the Palins, and also the case would have made international news and disrupted my life far more than their attacks ever could.
There really was no significant fallout.

No, she is done politically. Unless you live in Alaska she will not have any real impact on politics moving forward.

Yes, I LOVE going to the movies. I also hike, weight lift (Though no longer competitively), play computer games (Skyrim actually), and hang out with my daughter (Which really means pay for things she wants, and help her do her new job.)

I don't understand how a random doctor could be a good source on whether or not someone is pregnant. All that person would have is his own eyes to observe. And obviously eyes deceive us all the time. Don't ignore actual documents. It's not "logical". That is the amount under Alaska law for one child assuming 105k of income. The amount was set by the court because Levi never filed any documentation of his income but admitted "that his annual income is roughly $100000 per year." The judge imputed income at the legal cap and then calculated support for one child. the judge gave both parties the right to object to the imputed income (or actually file some proof that Levi's income was lower) and no one did.

I wonder if the child support judgement in court was due to the fact that Levi was making money from media attention and at that time it looked like he was bringing in a hefty income. ReplyDeleteHelp me out. I'm not from Alaska, but I have lived in several states. Give me an idea of the makeup of Alaska, Juneau, and Wasilla. I mean, how many people live in the general area.
In my hometown - area of around 100,000, I couldn't do ANYTHING without my mother hearing about it from somebody. I moved to several smaller areas & learned that well known people couldn't shop at a grocery store or go to a PTA meeting without somebody gossiping about it.
I've lived in larger places where you could run naked down the street & nobody would know.
I've also lived in smaller communities (college town of less than 30,000) where nobody knew anybody - so you could also run down the streets naked & nobody would know.
Is Wasilla more like a town where EVERYBODY knows what is going on (except for the outsiders), or is it a closed mouthed community?

DeleteI was watching some type of entertainment site that interviewed Levi and new girlfriend. Levi stated more or less that his father helped him see reality. Going Hollywood was taking the easy way out but evidentally Levi had gotten his GED and entering intern program for electrician on slope. Oh, he also referenced having had some bad advice in the past....

DeleteI think Levi was thrust into the Spotlight not having a clue as to what/how the Palin's were using him. He was an immature young man, but in all honesty, it would have been hard on anyone not used to having their every move on Camera!
I think he really thought he was going to marry Bri$tol. Then, when the Palin's had no more use for him, it just confused him even more. He was not thinking of the future, what teen-ager really does? They mainly think of the day that their living.
Now, I think he has finally accepted all the abuse/use of the Palin Klan. It must hurt him some, he thought he & Bri$tol were in love. I'll never forget my first love, and it's been over 30 yrs ago.
I really, really hope he has his eyes wide open and IS thinking of the future. I also hope he takes the Bri$tol to Court, and gets her for violating the Custody agreement! Especially the part about using Tripp for making money.
Levi is a tough one to read, he's so quiet and doesn't show enough emotion on Camera. But that is all in his favour now. They cannot accuse him of their lies without some kind of proof. He never gave them that!

All we have seen so far was a roadside wedding with everybody sharing flowers from the Piggly Wiggly flower arrangements they sell at the cash register.
If Track's roadside wedding and reception was the big trailer park shindig in Alaska history, I would hate to see what Bristol's trial wedding and trial wedding reception will look like.

Do you have favorite commenters, people you find particularly insightful or funny- or people who have been "reading you" even before the whole Palin train to crazyville left the station?
Also- can you or will you state with 100% certainty that Bristol didn't birth Trig? I think the more you see of the Palins, the more you know they easily could have forced Levi into quiet servitude. He could have kept a multitude of secrets from his mother and sister.
Gryph, you and I both went to the same High School during the same era --early 80's, but I was class of '83.
ReplyDeleteAll through HS you could see in the hallways during the breaks between classes boyfriends n girlfriends making out by their lockers. Didn't bother me at all, heck it gave a skinny, nerdy, math/sci D&D playing geeky kid like myself (don't worry, I've changed!) something to "think" about on the weekends.
It also didn't seem to bother the school admin, hall monitors, or visiting parents at all. Obviously, from what I hear on the series of tubes, things have changed slightly in school regarding that type of behavior.
Since you grew up in the time when physical contact was not a problem and now live in a time when it's considered taboo on school grounds and are also an educator of youth (mine's only with college students, I couldn't handle a class of youngsters and my hat's off to you!) what are your thoughts regarding those policy changes that have occurred incrementally over the last 30 years?

DeleteThe Anchorage Police Department has no evidence of Shailey Tripp’s accusations. They are NOT actively investigating Todd Palin or any other high-profile individuals in connection with Shailey Tripp, dba “Caring Needs”, “Blue Hands”, “All About You Medical Spa” and the two hair salons that she worked at in Wasilla.
Perhaps they should. They need a complaint. The salons in Wasilla are under the jurisdiction of Wasilla/Matanuska-Susitna Borough. Shailey should simply call up and swear out a complaint with the Wasilla Police Department and the Alaska State Troopers.
The medical spa and her massage therapy/computer business are in Anchorage, so she should call up APD and make a complaint that the medical spa is engaging in solicitation and that Todd Palin and others are prostitution clients. It’s THAT simple.
It is not fair or reasonable to presuppose that they will not respond appropriately. Because this hasn’t happened. Assume that they WILL investigate the complaint, if one is made. Because that’s how it works.
Based soley on what Shailey has reported, neither APD nor the judicial system has been provided an appropriate mechanism to respond the way Shailey wants them to.
Shailey’s statement is NOT “evidence.” It IS the basis of a formal complaint and subsequent investigation. If she possesses material evidence that substantiates her statement, she would provide that. Which has not yet happened.
If we want our neighbor investigated, arrested, and charged with a crime, we have to file a formal complaint with an appropriate authority. Our statement is NOT proof of their misdeed or guilt.
No police department, law enforcement officer, federal agent, legal authority, officer of the court, etc., can investigate me, check into my business matters, track my movements, inquire into my activities, gain access to my records and bank accounts, or even simply question anyone about me, without CAUSE.
“Cause” is formal and MUST be defensible – it’s not random. Then there’s “due process,” which EVERYONE is entitled to, regardless of how much you dislike them. [And thank God for that.]
It didn’t involve Todd Palin, materially or circumstantially. Todd Palin was not present (as far as we know), nor was he named as party to these circumstances.
If he should have been prosecuted as an accessory to this crime and this arrest, then there’s just one solution: Shailey and Kashawn Thomas need to go to the Prosecutor’s office and tell what they know. Immediately.
