Proof that a Palin can learn. Willow Palin at Penrose Academy in Arizona. Updated with some insanity.

Here is a picture that features Willow Palin competing in a Vidal Sassoon inspired Bob Competition at Penrose Academy in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Now this picture was originally sent to me in answer to Palin's declaration that one of her daughter's was in London. I am still hazy as to how THIS picture taken on October 4, indicates that Willow is the daughter that is currently in London, but since I seriously doubt the daughter she was referring to was Piper I accept that, if even true, it is probably Willow she is talking about.

However let me just take a moment to say something complementary about a Palin, not exactly a thing that I am especially known for doing.

"Hair school," as the Palins refer to it, may NOT be the height of academia, but we should give some props to Willow for at least wanting to do something on her own that does NOT rely on her mother's ability to pull strings for her, nor trades on her infamous name.

Yes I realize that Willow played a prominent part in Bristol's uber crappy reality show, but I always had the feeling that she was a less than willing participant, and certainly did her part to help demonstrate the unflattering side of her family at every opportunity.

I have always said that Willow is my favorite, and that has remained true since the first time that I saw her (While interviewing her mother in 2009) until now. Yes she is a snotty little terror at times, and she has often only escaped serious consequences for her actions due to her mother's influence, but she has ALSO been the one that has refused to buckle under and parrot the Palin family mythology.

I still hold out hope that someday she will get fed up with her controlling mother, and write that book that ALL of us are dying to read (Call me Willow, my digits are at your disposal), but even if she doesn't, I think she should be given some praise for not trading on her name in order to make fast money, and is willing to put in the time and effort it takes to have her own career.

And considering that she is surrounded by these people.

And these people.

That is no small feat.

P.S. Now if this translates into a "Big Hair Alaska Part Deux" I take back everything I just said.

 I guess this is the example of "living life fully" that we keep hearing so much about.
