What? You mean it's NOT part of gay "conversion therapy" to cup a man's scrotum in your hand?

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Charging documents released this week indicated that 55-year-old Rev. Ryan J. Muehlhauser was accused of eight felony counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct on at least two men during sessions about how to “escape the gay lifestyle,” according to KARE.

Muehlhauser was a pastor at Lakeside Christian Church in Cambridge, but met the men through Outpost Ministries, which claims it was “formed over 30 years ago to meet the needs of men and women making the decision to break away from gay life.”

The first victim told authorities that Muehlhauser had “blessed” him by cupping his genitals. The pastor required the victim to arouse himself for “spiritual strength” and later instructed the man to get naked and masturbate in front of him, calling it “spiritual guidance.”

Muehlhauser told a second victim that he would “loose everything” if details of the abuse became public.

“To seek comfort and advice and to help address the pain they were experiencing only to have them experience a more horrific type of pain, sadness,” Isanti County Attorney Jeffrey Edblad said.

The alleged abuse began as early as Dec. 31, 2010 and continued until at least Oct. 31, 2012.

“You have a defendant who spends a significant amount of time working with and grooming victims, these are often cases that take place over a period of months and years. They don’t happen in a vacuum,” Edblad explained.

You know my first instinct is to laugh, but then I think of these poor young men who are  being told they are creatures of sin, and are made to feel so damaged as human being that they are willing to subject themselves to this ridiculous superstitious nonsense only to find themselves victimized by the very people to whom they have laid themselves bare, and I am instead disgusted.

You know California recently banned this so-called "conversion therapy" for teens and I think it is high time that the rest of the country follow suit.

Where was it that Governor Jerrry Brown said it should be banished? Oh yeah the "dustbin of quackery." Sounds about right to me.

All I can ever say about "these types" of things, is OMG - are you kidding me????

Right now I'm not too happy with ANY men, gay or straight. (Petraeus "affair")

Why can't men just stop thinking with their d___ all the time???? WOMEN CAN, lol! I'm voting for women these days.

      LOL at 4:31! Agreed!!

What I find sad about this article is that these young men are so troubled because they have been made to feel there is something wrong with them.

It would seem to me that the job of a counselor is to make people accept who they are, not force them to be someone they can't be.

I especially don't understand the thinking of "christian" counselors. If you believe that your god doesn't make mistakes, and your god made these young people, then the bottom line has to be that there is nothing wrong with them. Too bad christians really don't follow their own words.

5:40? A LOT of these so-called "christians" counter your argument by saying these people were created by Beelzebub - or whatever nonsense name they wish to use.

That's how they are able to get to the less strong and those who are still not certain where they stand or that it has nothing to do with gods or devils. Just genetics.

And before anyone decides to jump on that last statement, it was a GENERAL statement. Yes, there are some who are psychologically homosexual, but those are generally caused by abuse or things along those lines.

That doesn't make them any LESS a victim of trash like the above character.

So it is your contention that it is always the Man who 'STRAYS'? The women are 'FORCED' to have affairs?

I know as many women that fuck around as men do. It's not gender specific.

The "loose" mistake may well have been Muehlhauser's. It's that way in the Raw Story article, in a quoted phrase.

FWIW to anyone unaware of the distinction, if you "lose" something that generally means that against your will, or through inattention, you no longer posess it, or no longer know where it is. If you "loose" something that means—generally—that you deliberately set it free, as in "loose the hounds, James!"

As an Australian, I have to say I've noticed generally Americans don't seem to be aware of the two words loose and lose. Whenever I read a blog or comment, it's as often mis-used as it is correctly used. In fact, probably more often the incorrect one is used. I'm red faced saying this because I feel cruel, but we are as young children taught these things in Australia, and to make a mistake after the age of ten should really be a source of shame.

I agree G probably is good at his English and transposed another's mistake. In that case G, simply add '(sic)'.

All I can see that we can do is keep prosecuting these predators and keep getting the word out that homosexuality is normal for some people. I applaud the Governor of CA. At least we can protect the kids until they are old enough to hear the message themselves.

I wonder if someone "blessed" the pedophile by placing his testicles in a vise grip and his penis in a cigar cutter if it would "repair" him of his distorted abuse of religion?
