Duggar girls get their own show on TLC because you know reality television is just not horrible enough already.

Courtesy of the Hollywood Reporter:

Two months after the Discovery-owned cable channel canceled 19 Kids and Counting over Josh Duggar's sexual molestation admission, TLC has ordered several new specials centered on his two sisters Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard.

Production is slated to begin soon for a targeted year-end premiere for at least one of the specials, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The untitled specials will center on Dillard, her husband, Derick, and their infant son as they prepare to move to El Salvador for missionary work, and Seewald, who is expecting her first child with husband Ben on Nov. 1. Two or three specials are currently planned.

Grow up in front of the TV camera with virtually every part of your life broadcast into people's living rooms, while living under your father's strict religious rules, and being molested by your own brother. Gee who wouldn't want to give them their own show?

If there is still an audience for this then I think that says something really unfortunate about the state of our country.

Now if the two girls wanted to tell the truth about what went on behind the scenes during their carefully scripted reality show, and what their brother was really doing to them, THEN there might be something worth watching here.

Source claims Duggars surprised and heartbroken that their reality show was yanked off the air, believe God wants them back on TV.

Courtesy of People Magazine:

When news broke that the Duggars' hit TLC show 19 Kids and Counting had been officially canceled, no one was more disappointed than the family, a source who has worked closely with them tells PEOPLE in this week's issue.

The cancellation came two months after a 2006 police report surfaced revealing that Josh Duggar had been accused at age 14 of molesting five underage girls – including two of his sisters, Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald. (He apologized and said he had "acted inexcusably" after the report became public.)

The source says the evangelical Christian family, who often discussed their religious faith on their TLC show, is "heartbroken that they've now lost that platform."

"The Duggars want to return to TV because they truly believe it was part of God's plan for them to spread the word about their faith," the source says.

"I think Jim Bob and Michelle honestly did expect people to just move on from this," the source adds. "Their thinking is, they put this behind them ages ago, so why wouldn't the rest of the world?"

Yeah, if sexual molestation was no big deal to them, why should it be a big deal to anybody else?

I love how when religious people really want to do something that they always claim God is the one that wants it for them.

"Hey, hey, hey, you can say no to us, but can you really say no to God?"

Yes, yes we can.

The Duggars are a seriously fucked up family and they should NEVER be given another national platform. And if there really WERE a god, they certainly wouldn't.

Now that he has been outed as pedophile, Josh Duggar packs up and moves back to the safety of his family.

Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

With his political career in tatters following his admission that he molested four of his sisters as a 14-year-old, Josh Duggar and his family are moving away from Washington D.C. and back to Arkansas to be near the Duggar family compound in Tontitown.

Moving trucks were spotted outside the 19 Kids and Counting star's five-bedroom home in Oxon Hill, Maryland, on Tuesday, just days after his parents and sisters sat down with Fox News' Megyn Kelly to try and defend his past 'mistakes.'

Josh, 27, had lived in the home with his wife, Anna, and their three (soon to be four) kids while he worked in Washington D.C. at the Family Research Council (FRC) lobbying group.

Yeah, well THAT job's certainly over.

After seeing the Duggar girl's terrible acting job during their interview on Fox News, and that Jim Bob essentially admitted that child molestation is common among the Christian families that he knows, it might be best for the entire family to go into hiding.

By the way their appearance on Fox News is currently drawing fire since it appeared to many that the network was helping to paint them as victims:

We now live in a nation where the conservative cable news network is spinning in support of a confessed child molester, as well as the people who tried to hide his actions. Fox News Channel has always been an egregious source for misinformation and GOP talking points. We all know this. It’s also been a powerful backstop whenever a Republican candidate commits one of many unforced errors — blurting out a ludicrous rape remark, or worse. However, in the past week, Fox News has crossed the zero-barrier between spinning for the GOP and into the realm of manufacturing phraseology and excuses for a Christian television family caught up in a sexual abuse scandal.

Fox News, where conservative politicians and child molesters are equally welcome.

Perhaps they ought to make that the new slogan, and finally do away with the "fair and balanced" one that nobody ever believed in the first place.

Prominent Christians have their own public relations firm, but even they want nothing to do with the Duggars.

Courtesy of Christian Post:

Hunter Frederick, a Christian public relations expert once rumored to have been hired to help manage the fallout from the sexual abuse allegations surrounding Josh Duggar, star of "19 Kids and Counting," by the Duggar family, says the recent apology from the embattled Christian figure and his parents is not enough to sate the effects of the scandal that has engulfed the family.

"I have no reason to think their apology wasn't sincere, but an apology is one small thing that needs to happen in this very large problem," Frederick told The Christian Post on Thursday. "

The majority of people that are against the Duggars want some kind of legal punishment, which can't happen because of our country's statute of limitations law. That's why this whole thing is very sticky from a crisis management standpoint. He (Josh) has to pay his debt to society back in some form or fashion. Most of the time that's legal action, so how does that happen when he can't be prosecuted?" added Frederick, who is president of Frederick & Associates.

Some folks thought that Fredreick had taken on Josh Duggar's case, which forced him to post the following tweet:
When asked why his PR firm was not representing the Duggars, Frederick had this to say:

Frederick explained that his clients go through an intense vetting process to determine whether they are capable of being helped and whether it's worth the company's investment. Despite rumors that he was hired to help the Duggars get through the scandal, Frederick said things did not work out with the Duggar family for reasons he could not reveal.

He said that his firm looks for clients who have: "a willingness to admit fault, transparency, willingness to want to change. … Especially with our Christian clients, repentance is critical. This isn't our first time doing this, we know when something's going to work out and when it's not."

Well it sounds to me as if certain members of the Duggar family are not willing to admit fault, be transparent, or express a desire to change.

You know you fucked up as a Christian when even a PR company who specializes in helping Christians who have fucked up will not fucking help you.

Mike Huckabee posts his support for the child molesting Josh Duggar on Facebook, suffers immediate backlash.

Courtesy of Huckabee's Facebook page:

Janet and I want to affirm our support for the Duggar family. Josh’s actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, 'inexcusable,' but that doesn’t mean 'unforgivable.' He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story. Good people make mistakes and do regrettable and even disgusting things. The reason that the law protects disclosure of many actions on the part of a minor is that the society has traditionally understood something that today’s blood-thirsty media does not understand—that being a minor means that one's judgement is not mature. No one needs to defend Josh’s actions as a teenager, but the fact that he confessed his sins to those he harmed, sought help, and has gone forward to live a responsible and circumspect life as an adult is testament to his family’s authenticity and humility. Those who have enjoyed revealing this long ago sins in order to discredit the Duggar family have actually revealed their own insensitive bloodthirst, for there was no consideration of the fact that the victims wanted this to be left in the past and ultimately a judge had the information on file destroyed—not to protect Josh, but the innocent victims. Janet and I love Jim Bob and Michelle and their entire family. They are no more perfect a family than any family, but their Christian witness is not marred in our eyes because following Christ is not a declaration of our perfection, but of HIS perfection. It is precisely because we are all sinners that we need His grace and His forgiveness. We have been blessed to receive God’s love and we would do no less than to extend our love and support for our friends. In fact, it is such times as this, when real friends show up and stand up. Today, Janet and I want to show up and stand up for our friends. Let others run from them. We will run to them with our support.

Well that made me throw up in my mouth a little.

And I was not alone, get a load of some of the comments that showed up on Huckabee's page:

I respectfully disagree. His behavior is unforgivable to me and so is covering it up and allowing it to continue. Can't hide behind Jesus to excuse all bad behavior.

Well you have lost my support! I'm a conservative Christian, and was once a Duggar supporter, but I believe that 14 years old or not he should have never been allowed to continue to live in the home with the girls, and the show should have never aired. He damaged those girls for he rest of their lives, and anyone who can carry on and say it's ok now because he admitted he was wrong is just as sick as him.

I think you just kissed your chances away for the presidential nomination.

You all are insane. He molested children. And Mr. Huckabee if he was a child not aware of his actions, why is a 14 year tried as an adult for killing. Give me a break. So if abusers repent they dont deserve to be punished??? Or just "good" Christians on tv. Does it worry anyone he has children. Wow.

I was really happy that you decided to run for president but now you have lost my support. I'm was a victim of sexual molestation and it may go away for the abuser nut it doesn't for the victims. We may forgive, but we don't forget. Child molesters takes away our chance of having a normal child, a normal teenager, and a normal adult. I will mo longer support or vote for you. Nobody is thinking about victims on all this.

Let me get this straight (no pun intended). This man will publicly support an admitted child molester, but will condemn a gay couple. What sense or logic is involved with this? And the fact that his family helped to cover up this atrocity, is even more baffling. In my line of work I have seen firsthand the effects are of children who were molested by adults or other children. I am sorry but these actions should be condemned. And the show of support is absolutely ridiculous. Shame on you Mike. And shame on all of you referencing "he who is without sin may cast the first stone", what happened to Matthew 19:14.

And believe me these go on, and on, and on.

You know this will prove to be so damaging to Huckabee's chances of winning the Republican nomination that I'm almost surprised that Jeb Bush has offered his support to Josh Duggar as well.

What? You mean it's NOT part of gay "conversion therapy" to cup a man's scrotum in your hand?

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Charging documents released this week indicated that 55-year-old Rev. Ryan J. Muehlhauser was accused of eight felony counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct on at least two men during sessions about how to “escape the gay lifestyle,” according to KARE.

Muehlhauser was a pastor at Lakeside Christian Church in Cambridge, but met the men through Outpost Ministries, which claims it was “formed over 30 years ago to meet the needs of men and women making the decision to break away from gay life.”

The first victim told authorities that Muehlhauser had “blessed” him by cupping his genitals. The pastor required the victim to arouse himself for “spiritual strength” and later instructed the man to get naked and masturbate in front of him, calling it “spiritual guidance.”

Muehlhauser told a second victim that he would “loose everything” if details of the abuse became public.

“To seek comfort and advice and to help address the pain they were experiencing only to have them experience a more horrific type of pain, sadness,” Isanti County Attorney Jeffrey Edblad said.

The alleged abuse began as early as Dec. 31, 2010 and continued until at least Oct. 31, 2012.

“You have a defendant who spends a significant amount of time working with and grooming victims, these are often cases that take place over a period of months and years. They don’t happen in a vacuum,” Edblad explained.

You know my first instinct is to laugh, but then I think of these poor young men who are  being told they are creatures of sin, and are made to feel so damaged as human being that they are willing to subject themselves to this ridiculous superstitious nonsense only to find themselves victimized by the very people to whom they have laid themselves bare, and I am instead disgusted.

You know California recently banned this so-called "conversion therapy" for teens and I think it is high time that the rest of the country follow suit.

Where was it that Governor Jerrry Brown said it should be banished? Oh yeah the "dustbin of quackery." Sounds about right to me.

Alaska also victimized by Boy Scout policy of covering for pedophile scout leaders. Color me unsurprised.

Courtesy of ADN:

In June 1981, the mother of a Fairbanks Cub Scout complained that a den leader named Kenneth A. Burns was sleeping nude with boys and showing them pornographic material.

The head of the Fairbanks-based Midnight Sun Council of the Boy Scouts of America wrote to the national office about the complaint. He also informed officials that the U.S. Air Force was investigating Burns, who at the time was a sergeant at Eielson Air Force Base.

"I will agree that sleeping nude and showing the boys pornographic books indicated very poor judgement when dealing with cub scouts," replied Boy Scouts of America executive Paul Ernst in July of that year. "I do not know, however, that this is a serious enough offense to refuse registration anywhere he might try to register unless there are more instances."

Burns is one of seven Alaska men identified in 1,400 pages of previously secret files released Thursday by an Oregon law firm involved in a lawsuit against the Boy Scouts of America.

The documents tell a story of men barred by the Boy Scouts national organization after they had already drawn police scrutiny or criminal charges for sexually abusing children in Alaska.

The Alaska files released are all from the 1960s and 1980s.

Officials with the Boy Scouts council in Alaska did not respond to a request for comment Thursday.

A Los Angeles Times database that includes other sources of the Boy Scouts records lists more than a dozen additional files from Alaska but they do not include names or details of the allegations. Some of the most recent cases from Alaska are from 2003 and 2004.

In Burns' case, it appears that it took a court-martial conviction, a letter from an Air Force judge, a warning that Burns had tried to join another Alaska troop and nearly a year to convince national Boy Scouts officials to add his name to a secret "undesirable list."

"We appreciate the work you have done in getting this information for us," Ernst wrote to John P. McKean, then head of the Midnight Sun Council, in March 1982. That was more than nine months after the initial complaint. "This will strengthen our case in being able to refuse future registration attempts."

Burns didn't stop molesting children.

In the 1990s, he was charged with abusing boys at his Muldoon mobile home, which police said he stocked with toys. At the time, police said he might have had more than 100 victims.

He was eventually convicted of child sex abuse charges.

Now what some people in the lower forty eight may not realize is that Alaska has long been a place where the dregs of society were sent for various reasons, or where they came of their own volition to escape prosecution or persecution for their deviant lifestyles. We have had more than our fair share of draft dodgers, convicted criminals, pimps, soldiers gone AWOL, gang bangers on the lam, and even low ranking members of the Mafia during the oil boom years.

In short it is where numerous criminals came to make their homes far from the restrictive "civilization" of the rest of America, and where even the Catholic church dumped their  own child molesters for decades.

I am not at all surprised to learn that the Boy Scouts covered for this activity up here as well as in the rest of the country, and would be even less surprised to learn that the Boy Scout leaders might even have suggested that these individuals move north once they were discovered in other states, since they still undoubtedly see Alaska as the last frontier where these assholes can simply disappear into the wilderness.

You know, much like what the Catholic church has done with THEIR undesirables over the years.

P.S. Of course while the Boy Scouts might be willing to cover for those  pedophiles, they make damn sure to keep the REAL unsavory element out.  You know, the atheists.

Jerry Sandusky essentially gets life in prison for crimes against children.

Courtesy of the Business Insider:

The former Penn State assistant football coach convicted of molesting 10 young boys over a 15-year period will be spending 30 to 60 years behind bars, according to Bloomberg News.

Jerry Sandusky was convicted in June of 45 counts of child sex abuse.

Today's sentence means the 68-year-old will conceivably spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Before sentencing the disgraced coach, Judge John Cleland said the case is "a story of betrayal. You abused the trust of those who trusted you," the New York Daily News' Sports I-Team tweeted from the courtroom.

Incredibly Sandusky is arguing to stay out of  solitary confinement, which he would undoubtedly be placed into for his protection.

He also denied his guilt in rather bizarre and rambling testimony before his sentencing:

Sandusky said in his statement that he has spent his time in jail meditating, writing, exercising, and reading books about persecution and struggle. He said he has faced "outbursts by troubled inmates" and "special inmates who have smiled at me."

"Somehow, someway, something good will come out of this. These are people I cared about, still do. I used to think of ways to praise them, to help them have fun."

"To my loved ones I want to say, the most difficult part is the pain of separation. Some of the labeling hurts but they don't compare to the pain of their absence," he said.

You know besides the years of molestation inflicted by Catholic priests, and the churches attempts to cover up their crimes, I don't think I can remember a more egregious example of a person, or persons, victimizing children in this manner.

It is just very troubling that Penn State covered for him for all of those years, simply to protect their reputation and continue to win football games. I find that almost impossible to comprehend.

And it just makes me wonder how many more Jerry Sanduskys there are out in the world, currently being protected by organizations that value their contribution over the lives of innocent children?
