Before I saw it, I read a comment that someone said she read like a 1st grader. I disagree. She read with emotion, with power, and slowly, yes, but as someone who was determined to get every word correct, which she did, and to get her point across, which she did beautifully. Anyone who can spport unlimited access to military weapons after seeing and hearig her yesterday, is far more brain-damaged than Gabby is. And yes, LaPierre and GOP, that means you!

The other side may choose to waste integrity and energy in false pursuits of wronged self-righteous indignation.

According to Gayle Trotter, if Congresswoman Giffords had had her asault rifle, all would have been well (unless the gunman still open fired and Giffords then let loose about 30 rounds in the other direction perhaps taking out additional bystanders). Also, another (good guy) had a gun there, he almost got shot by police as the (bad guy) shooter, with all the confusion and shooting going on.
Exactly. And can you imagine the multiple deaths in that dark movie theater if every person had whipped out their own assault rifle and begun firing toward when they thought the origianl shooter was? My God, the entire crowd would be dead.
DeleteI can see people with assault rifles "protecting" others in a crazy scene, accidentally killing innocents, and police arriving, shooting these people who are "protecting", as how is law enforcement going to tell who are the bad guys and good guys when they all have assault rifles.

ReplyDeleteYes, when I saw her reading/saying those words, I must say, there was some serious dust in my living room, or I had a sudden allergy attack... :) I thought she was awesome, and I just wish, she could have NOT been a target of that deranged gun toting SOB.
