President Obama addresses the graduates of Morehouse College.

If you can imagine what it must be like for a graduate of Morehouse, the same school that produced the great Martin Luther King Jr, and other African Americana leaders, to hear the first black President in American history give their commencement speech, you can imagine that there was NO amount of rain that would dampen their spirits.

No, rain was not enough to wash away their pride.

President Obama did a great job - as always! I watched it on TV yesterday. The people/graduates loved having him there!

I saw and heard the President's speech yesterday on the White House channel. It was raw, emotional, funny, beautiful and utterly inspiring. The regressives will probably castigate him, which should prove the speech a great success!

Forbes: Economically, Could Obama Be America's Best President?

With the stock market hitting new highs, some people have already forgotten about the Great Recession. Recall 2009. Things looked pretty bleak economically. But the outlook has changed dramatically in just 4 years…. the President deserves attention for how well this economy has done during his leadership.

The auto rescue plan has worked. American car manufacturers are still dominant and employing millions directly and in supplier companies. Wall Street reform has been painful but it has re-instated faith amongst investors….

…. The deficit is now only 4% of the GDP, down from over 10% at the end of Bush’s administration …. major strides in health care reform – something no other President has accomplished – has given American’s more faith in their future, and an increased willingness to invest.

… By all measures, President Obama has outperformed every modern President.

This is going to drive Republicans nuts, but I think President Obama will go down as one of the best presidents the nation has ever had. I expect to see him on Mt. Rushmore (watch the fight over that issue!) and to do outstanding things after his second term is over.

I love seeing what the outstanding jobs he has done in spite of Republicans in Congress constantly blocking him.

And, as far as I'm concerned, McConnell, Boehner, Cantor, McCain etc. should be tried for treason and serve long sentences in prison.

    How Obama Handles Crisis

The hand-wringers and bed wetters in the D.C. punditocracy should know that Barack Obama will never be on their timeline, says his longtime speechwriter Jon Favreau.

This is a president who has seen the nation through many serious and consequential crises, and he has done so without losing the core of who he is or why he ran for this job in the first place.

Reading the comments on HuffPost and it is disgusting how much hate there is for this man. You would think he stole their truck and ran over their dog.

  8. I am overjoyed for those Morehouse students to see a potentially great future for themselves through the example of our wonderful president!

I want to send a great big black power salute right back to them.

      I do too! Nevermind that I'm a white, middle-aged mom; I think I can remember how it's done! : )

I'm very happy for those students, what a great experience!

May 11, Chuck Heath Jr. posted a comment that his father was undergoing major heart surgery. In fact, Chuck Sr. didn't want his Alaska friends dropping by the hospital because Chuck Sr. didn't want to be seen lying in his hospital bed with a lot of tubes stuck in him. Ever the good son, Chuck Jr. posted a photo of Chuck Sr.,lying in his hospital bed with tubes stuck in him. (He did the same thing to his mother, Sally, when she had hip replacement surgery. Thanks, Chuckie).

Sarah chose to honor her parents (one of the 10 commandments) by posting photos of their Mothers Day snow mobile ride, even though Sarah's father was in the hospital and Sarah's mother was by his side, except for the time that she spent at Chuck Jr.'s house. We know that the photos were probably from Easter (because of the snow pack), but that was the public image that Sarah wanted to convey. For me, it showed a lack of support for her own mother on Mothers Day, and a lack of support for her father.

More than a week has passed, and Chuck Sr. should be leaving the hospital. Where's Chuck Jr.'s on the scene report? Where is Chuck Sr.? Is he going home where the burden will fall on Sally? Chuck Jr.'s house so Mrs.Junior can take care of him and Sally? A rehab center (like my brother-in-law had to go to for several weeks following the same operation)?

WTF?? Jesus Christ can we have ONE thread about President Obama without some idiot showing up to babble about Chuck Heath or some shit? Is the Heath/Palin trash all you think about? WHO GIVES A FUCK??!!

That said, President Obama is amazing and I am so happy to have experienced this Presidency so far...it has been a privilege to be alive to see America changing for the better! Fuck the haters, they have no idea what they are missing out on, I feel bad for them but it'll be amusing in 20 years watching them try to pretend they were a part of this! We'll remember! :)

There's a closed caption option for hearing impaired, pick whichever language you wish and you can follow along.

      Good Luck finding "Eubonics"

What a fantastic speech! There's a sense that Dr King's struggle matters. This is history going full circle.
His advice and example to these graduates will shape the future of our country.
