A non-profit gun rights group is collecting donations to buy George Zimmerman a new firearm.
The Buckeye Firearms Foundation created the “Zimmerman Second Amendment Fund” to raise money to buy him a new gun after the Justice Department placed a hold on all evidence related to the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said during an NAACP convention in Orlando last week that the Justice Department has an open investigation into the case. The department is looking into whether Zimmerman violated Martin’s civil rights. Zimmerman was legally entitled to reclaim his gun he used to shoot Martin before the Justice Department placed a hold on evidence.
“George Zimmerman has every right to get his property back,” the foundation wrote on its website. “And if Eric Holder chooses to deny Mr. Zimmerman that right, Buckeye Firearms Foundation will remedy the matter by purchasing a NEW FIREARM for him, including a holster, flashlight, and any other gear he wants.”
The foundation calls Holder’s actions an “abuse of power.”
“This is about more than mere principle. Zimmerman and his family now face daily threats on their lives. More than ever, he has a right to defend himself against those who would seek to do him harm,” the foundation states.
Yeah, after all how can Zimmerman be man and show his machismo by shooting young black boys if he does not have a gun?
I don't understand this thinking at all. If I were Zimmerman, a possibility that makes me physically ill, I would NEVER walk around armed again and make damn sure to avoid even the possibility of having to use a gun to defend myself.
Only somebody who enjoyed the killing and was looking forward to the next opportunity would take to the streets while packing heat after what he just went through.
I hope he does not murder any more African American teen-aged boys.

With a history of domestic violence and a prior arrest for assault against a law officer as well as possible pending federal charges for a committing a homicide, GZ would automatically pass a background check and be eligible to own a firearm?
ReplyDeleteUm, okay. Why not also get him a couple of semi-automatic rifles. One to carry over each soldier, so he won't get picked on all the time. GZ's MMA instructor seems to think he's a lost cause for any physical self-defense training.
These gun rights advocates don't seem to pick their poster victims with very much regard for public sentiment. By that I mean that I don't hear them screaming to the rooftops on behalf of Marissa Alexander's rights to stand her ground. Another Florida case with possible racial implications. Ms Alexander was sentenced to 20 years for firing a warning shot because she was threatened IN HER OWN HOUSE. But she is a person of color, so apparently she has no rights in Florida. THIS is the case that the gun goons should be supporting for judicial review or appeal if they are sincere about supporting the rights for Americans to use guns/deadly force for self-defense when threatened with harm.
Marissa Alexander. Read more about her. She should be in the discussion right now. Meanwhile, she's serving 20 years for standing her ground after being prosecuted by the same individual who was chosen as special prosecutor in the Zimmerman Case, Angela Corey.

"Meanwhile, she's serving 20 years for standing her ground after being prosecuted by the same individual who was chosen as special prosecutor in the Zimmerman Case, Angela Corey."
DeleteWhich raises the question: does a defendant who has a judge for his father (as GZ does) receive a hidden 'benefit' of having his/her prosecution conducted in an ineffective and limp manner – as this one seems to have been? After all, Corey may have to appear in front of Judge Zimmerman (or his friends) when she tries future cases. Moreover, Corey's boss (the county DA) is an elected official – and in that particular county, it is easy to see which way the political winds are blowing (ie, not in Trayvon Martin's favor). Just raising questions here, not making allegations.
"Zimmerman and his family now face daily threats on their lives."
ReplyDeleteWell, GEE, he should have thought about that, now shouldn't have he? I hope he lives with this torment the rest of his born days. Sorry for the bad attitude but I, for one, am SICK of hearing the name George Zimmerman, let alone seeing his ugly mug.
But to be honest, I wouldn't cry at all if Georgie turned it on a murderer - like himself.
ReplyDeleteMy thought is that those who live by the gun, get shot. His turn is coming, and I hope whoever shoots him walks away too. That sounds horrible, but I am so sick of the NRA and the gun nuts and what they are doing to this nation. And how in heck is a gun organization tax-exempt anyway?
ReplyDeleteJust one gun? What a bunch of cheap sob's. They ought to be talking about setting him up with a complete home arsenal with a wide array of weapons and munitions....from cute little derringers that hide in a belt buckle to mega-drum, rapid fire street sweeper 12 gauge shot guns, some .50 cal sniper monsters and everything in-between. And the ammunitions!!!...oh my...soooo many bullet types to fondle and fuss over. The list is virtually endless. Come on you cheapskates, show the guy some love and bury him in state of the art weapons and other things that go bang in the night (or day).
ReplyDeleteWhatever happened to Joe the (unlicensed) plumber? George ZIMMERMAN IS NOW THE GUN TOTING HERO OF THE RIGHT WING NUMB NUTS. now he's supposed to be a hero because he, along with others, helped a family of four out of their overturned ford explorer, which in some moronic publications has been described as a truck. No injuries, but fantastic stories abound as George rescues family from nonexistent fire, and near death, George lays hands upon them and cures them of whiplash, taking their pain as his own from rubber necking.
ReplyDeleteI thought he was so weak, he needed to shoot an unarmed teenager in self defense?
DeleteHmmmmm...
Didn't Zimmerman just rescue a couple in an accident on a hghway recently? They made sure it was on the news. I seem to recall it was in Florida.
ReplyDeleteIf we needs his gun back, and if it's true that's he's been threatenened, why doesn't he move he and his wife away from the state? Why would he insist on staying in the area where he feels the most threat?
Something isn't right with the way this family keeps popping up in the news. Something doesn't smell right when a newly acquitted man has been set free and has family remind everyone how endangered his life is. Why doesn't he just hide in the woodwork and let the boy's family grieve in peace?
His wife is due in court on perjury charges.
DeleteI think his wife still has to stay for her trial for perjury.
DeleteJust lots more reasons for me never to go to Florida.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
I am surprised GZ is still in Florida. Is he under protective custody? Wearing a bullet proof vest is a smart thing to do but really, there are so many other targets. I say get the hell out of the USA or stay the hell away from the press and this latest incident sounds like BS.
ReplyDeletePeru? Surely his mom may still have relatives there?
DeleteAnonymous 6:19, your first paragraph, if you'll pardon the pun, is a killer. He's a person who, if his father were not a judge, would be known by his rap sheet, and not for the sympathy he has engendered from the whitey-righties.
ReplyDeleteMy first question: how is GZ supporting himself these days? Rightie funding?
My next question: who is his father, what are his political connections, who funds his campaigns, and how has he ruled in what particular cases?
His father is a retired magistrate from Virginia. There is no indication that he is politically active in Florida.
ReplyDeleteI've heard people say they're not going to Florida anymore. They'll feel safer in other warm climes during March and winter breaks.
ReplyDeleteGive George his gun back
ReplyDeleteHe was found innocent
Stop Holder and Obama
From violating his 2nd Amendment rights
Hey everybody...ignore the alkie @ 8:49 AM...it's just Baldy! She's "Tweaking"...ummmm I mean Tweeting garbage about Nancy Pelosi and I see she stopped by here first with her stinky droppings before making her "deposit" of shit on Twitter! LOL!!!
DeleteIts going to be interesting to see how this plays out.
ReplyDeleteI would think that arming Zimmerman is painting a HUGE target on him.
"Watch out - he's a known killer and he's armed."
I would think George Zimmerman would rather want to wear a T-shirt with the message:
"Don't shoot! I'm NOT ARMED"
So, as I said: it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Well, we saw how well that turned out for Trayvon. Trayvon was not armed, yet Trayvon was shot.
With his history of violence, I'm wondering If he may have thought out some of this ahead of time. I wonder if he knew about the 'Stand Your Ground' law, and fantasized about using it one day to kill someone. He may have even planned out how to make it work. What would it take to get away with it? With Martin, he may have seen a window of opportunity there.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering because the evidence does not fit his story. Zimmerman stated that Martin struck him in the nose and that knocked him to the ground. He stated that he struck him 25 or 30 times? Yet there is no DNA evidence on Martin's hands or his clothes? The Daily Kos does a good job discussing the evidence and relating it to what Zimmerman said happened.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/06/09/1214336/-DNA-Report-does-NOT-support-Zimmerman-s-claim-that-Trayvon-Martin-caused-his-injuries#
So, where do his injuries come from? When you look at the photos taken of him 45 minutes later after he has been cleaned up, they are really quite minor. My guess is they were self inflicted.
I though the very same thing!
DeleteGeorge Zimmerman's father, Robert Zimmerman Sr. 'wrote' an ebook available for $3.99 download, Amazon. Won't buy but some excerpts claim that African Americans are the true racists in American; he also castigates the Black Caucus, NAACP, any organization that is black (civil and human rights), etc.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it will be critiqued somewhere around the web and maybe get to see (more) of the Zimmerman 'political philosophy.' Based on George and Robert Jr. (in their own words prior to and shortly after Trayvon Martin's murder), that might be a lot like TeaBircher neoLibertarian hero, Rand Paul (and his violence prone son?
20 years for woman who claimed self-defense:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.cnn.com/2012/05/11/justice/florida-stand-ground-sentencing?c=&page=2
Yes, the woman was non-Caucasian. Notice the date of the sentencing and how the gun goons have said NOTHING about this case. Because black woman.
Now make sure to get this tubbo fat fuck coward a gun before he pisses himself. Bunch of scared pussies, all of you pencil-dicked punks shilling for the NRA. Cock-suckers, every one of you. Just a bunch of scared little wankers.
