“Chinese-made products, the money you spend doesn’t stay in the community and the staff is so poor your taxes subsidize their health care. The Dow is at record highs and minimum wage buying power at a forty year low. Walmart – prices so nice, you pay for’em twice.” — John Fugelsang
Damn, that was good!
Walmart's staff is paid so poorly that most of them are on food stamps, as well.

Deletea lot of them also, buy damaged foods and products to save money. My brother is one of them.
DeleteI have never and will never step foot in a Walmart. They have single-handedly ruined so many small communities and their local stores.
ReplyDeleteIt never ceases to amaze me how those who shout about being "Taxed Enough Already!!" see absolutely nothing wrong with Wal-Mart's business practices -- hell, in most instances, these folks see it as a model to emulate across all businesses.
ReplyDeleteSigh.
I know of a total teabagger type, a woman who used to live on the dole and totally benefited from progressive policies and feminism, say the people who run Wal-Mart should be running America.
DeleteAnyway, thanks for sharing this, Gryphen. It really made my day.

ReplyDeleteAlaskans are divided about whether Sarah Palin is still an Alaskan- 47% say yes, 46% say no
What's the matter, Mr. Fancy Pants Librul Alaskan blogger??? Afraid to address the HUGEST MOST AWESOMEST story that broke today?

That's right, libtards!!! READ IT AND WEEP!!!
MITTENS IS RUNNING AGAIN IN 2016!!!
USA!!! USA!!! WE'RE NUMBER ONE!!! USA!!! IN YOUR FACE!!! WE'RE NUMBER ONE!!! USA!!! USA!!!
Face it, Gryphen, the only reason Mittens let that so-called President Obama of yours win in 2012 is that he didn't even want that stupid job even tho he could do about a MILLION times better than Obama is doing now! Maybe TWO million times better!
Anyway, do you know what being president pays, buddy boy? About $35,000 a year, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, sounds like a lot of money to little people like you and your welfare-cheating blog buddies, but Mittens spends $35,000 a year just to keep a standby car elevator running in his mansion in case the primary and backup elevators don't operate properly! He doesnt need your money and will probably donate the whole salary to charity. Or his church.
Mittens doesnt need or want your stupid presdiency, either, but he's running in 2016 just to show everyone that three or four attempts is the charm and now that he finally has the hang of it, he can win it for sure!!!
MITTENS/CRUZ 2016!
"This Time We're ALL Screwed!"
My dad- who turned to the dark side-
ReplyDeleteUsed to say he was amazed that "these people" are shopping at walmart to save their money. ..
Which they had less of because of the slave wages walmart paid which drove out community businesses. ..
Which is where many of these people worked, at decent salaries. ..
Before walmart drove the businesses under.
In 2004, the Waltons got a tax break of $91,500 an hour. AN HOUR!!!
ReplyDeleteAll true. My daughter works for the scum buckets. some of the employees live in their cars. Sam Walton is spinning in his grave.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there is anything more frustrating and humiliating than knowing you are worth more than you are being paid, that your employer could easily pay you more, but won't because he thinks you're not worth it and knows you won't quit.
ReplyDeleteI worked for a below minimum wage Walmart-thinking boss, only job I could get, until I could no longer stand it. I was lucky in that I had savings to fall back on until my SS kicked in, but it was better than groveling for crumbs from a man I detested even more than my ex.
He knocked one out of the ballpark with this one. I've avoided them like the plague, whenever possible, I buy goods made here (preferably local) and don't mind paying more for quality goods.
ReplyDeleteThey're aware of their image problem. They're running ads with accountants, doctors, lawyers and other well paying professions proudly professing that they're Walmart Shoppers. I'll believe it when I see limousine parking and helipads at Walmart.
One thing that doesn't make sense though is he says at the beginning that their profits are about %15 billion and at the end that they could give everyone a 45000 a year raise and still make $17 billion. Seems wrong.
