Chris Christie on the Tonight Show. Attempting to improve his political options, or just having a little harmless fun?

Courtesy of the New York Daily News:

If the Bridgegate scandal has taken a toll on Gov. Chris Christie, he didn’t show it Thursday when he did a light-weight dance on “The Tonight Show.”

A tanned and slimmer Christie bounded onstage for an “Evolution of Dad Dancing” skit, doing the “Back It Up” and “Don’t Make Me Turn This Car Around” with host Jimmy Fallon. Then the New Jersey Republican and die-hard Springsteen fan stalked off in faux rage when Fallon did a “This Bridge is Closed” dance.

Later, during a sit-down, Christie shrugged off a ribbing about his weight — calling Fallon a “putz” for going there.

Personally I don't think that Christie could dance nearly fast or long enough to sweat out the stench of bridge-gate, but perhaps he does.

I will admit that it's pretty entertaining, and always a good idea to have politicians demonstrate the ability to laugh at themselves though.

However if Christie was trying to outshine a certain First Lady with his dance moves he failed miserably. Can you say EPIC FAIL?

  1. This is off topic, but I so love the title of this post that I have to share it with everybody.

I love the title, it reflects the true drunk perfectly. Crying in his beer and blaming Obama. The only fly in the ointment is, Obama wasn't on the ticket.

Oh Dear God. I wonder if his kids and wife are wearing paper bags on their heads today.

Oh my Dog, he is so gross. I am sorry, but after a certain size men need to leave their shirts untucked.

    1. He's using this as an opportunity to show off how much weight he's lost.

He is going to try to get on the Republican ticket. He figures Bridgegate is enough history and he'll be able to repair his reputation with a few choice appearances like this one. In another year, he figures....people will have forgotten about the bridge.

Our job is to make sure no one does.

Now Gryphen, don't tell me you can't see that there is someone stuffed inside his pants doing all those moves?

Probably another one of his aids that just found out what being "thrown under the bus" really means when you work for Christie.

  5. I don't think he looks like he's lost much weight at all. And I don't find him entertaining in any sense. He's a bully, and that's what the GOP loves...look at Palin's rise. Bullies will say and do what all the misogynist, racist, evangelicals are afraid to come right out with. If this guy avoids justice for his crimes, the GOP will nominate him. Please proceed, GOP. Hillary will eat him for lunch.

I watched this and did not find Christie funny or entertaining at all! Sorry, but I don't think he has lost that much weight!

He IS a bully - just watch some of the old video they have of him responding to folks! He truly has various personalities which makes him worse than most other Republican politicians!

"Tanned and slimmer"? Who are they kidding? Dance and laugh at yourself all you want while you can!. * want to know how much of his lawyer's bills are being paid by the Koch Brothers?

I'll vote for the second video. No flab jiggling around, both people are wearing foundation garments and can dance circles around Chrispie Creme.

He's the governor of a highly populated state, where many people live in poverty and quite a number are still suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, not to mention his overall chicanery. For this corrupt buffoon to go on a fucking talk show and act like a clown is in inappropriate beyond belief and insulting to his hurting constituents.

He is disgusting and corrupt. He can get up there and jiggle and laugh all he wants, but it makes no difference.

I liked Jimmy Fallon better when he only had cool people on his show. I don't watch him any more.

I agree that many of Fallon's guests are losing appeal. I watch the start of the show each night but when I hear someone like Christie is on, I switch over to Letterman.

Having an unpopular moron and well-known TV failure like Sarah Palin on his show for yet another wooden performance did it for me. If that's the best he can do then he'll have to do it without me.

The person or persons booking people like Palin & Christie as guests on Fallon's show are doing him a great disservice. Any viewers they may attract with such guests will surely be less than those loyal viewers who will be so turned off that they will stop watching the show altogether.

Michelle Obama is just the coolest First Lady this country has ever had. She has done so much for children's health and veterans' families, and we are so fortunate to have her and her husband in the White House!

  11. Christie failed - no comparison to anyone needed - seems Jimmy Fallon can't get any worthwhile guests to come on his show - other than when POTUS/FLOTUS appear - boring and not even amusing.

There is no-one to compare to Michelle Obama - not a one - she is her own breath of fresh air in a county that never appreciates what they have until it is gone.

He will NEVER live down Fallon and Springsteen singing "I'm Stuck In Chris Chrstie's Fort Lee New Jersey Traffic Jam."
BTW I really gotta take a leak. hehe

‘Christian’ Proselytizing Banned in Missouri Public School, Thanks to Lawsuit by Two Students

The First Amendment triumphed in federal court thanks to the efforts of two students and a mother to stop Christian proselytizing in a Fayette, Missouri school.

Gryphen, did you catch Bill Maher tonight? He dropped some statistics that made me shudder....

...Maher relished the irony that the Tea Party that Cantor helped create, ultimately was the cause of his demise, or as guest Richard Clarke former National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism for the United States said “this is Frankenstein’s monster”.

Then Maher dropped an amazing statistic. Now that Cantor has been defeated, of 278 seats, 100% of the House Republicans are Christian and even more amazing, with the exception of one black congressman, 100% are white.

I found the end of the dad moves dancing funny about the bridge closed. Christie was in the spirit of the skit so I will give him that.

Our First Lady inspires me to take positive actions to eat healthier and be more physically fit.

I don't care if he dances with his tighty-whities on his head, he's still a bully and as corrupt as I've ever heard of. What happened to the "crime-fighter" he used to be?? Saw how much money he was losing and decided to get his share?

He has something going for him that Sarah Palin never did; the man is not a Quitter. He was down and he got right back up. He is facing his challenges head on.

I am voting for Hillary, but Christie certainly is going to make a run for President in 2016. You can bet on it.

I don't see anything wrong with it, it was quite funny, the part about the republican vs the democratic convention. He's lost a lot of weight, I bet 150-175 lbs. Look back at the video of him getting out of the helicopter to go to his kid's ballgame. Or, the day he put his arm around Obama. I won't vote for him, but I see his populist appeal, despite the horrible things he stands for in NJ.

    Apparently,

Jimmy Fallon cheats on his wife and claims that he doesn't feel like he and his wife are really the parents of their child - who was born by surrogate.
Jimmy yells at his wife during fights that she is not their child's mother.

    He's a piece of shit.

Is Fallon apolitically naive, or is he a right wing operative hoping to rehabilitate Christie's plummeting political reputation by trying to make him seem human is a completely trivial situation?

He's beginning to remind me of Leno politically.
