Yes I realize that this aired the night BEFORE the decision, however it is still the best take on it that I have seen thus far.
Oh, and it's freaking hysterical too.
Update: The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists have now weighed in on this decision as well. As you can imagine they are very displeased.
John Oliver is fucking brilliant!

Big Win For Gun Control: Target Bans Guns In Stores
Target has finally made its decision about firearms in its stores. The retail giant is telling its customers to leave their guns at home.
"Our approach has always been to follow local laws, and of course, we will continue to do so," Target interim CEO John Mulligan said in a statement published by Target's in-house online magazine on Wednesday. "But starting today we will also respectfully request that guests not bring firearms to Target – even in communities where it is permitted by law."

It reminds me of the 1957 Little Rock desegregation photos. The woman is some scary bitch.

The name of the Supreme Court should be changed. The Mediocre Court or the Right Wing Religious Court. Ever since they installed Dubya in the WH, they have been slipping badly in their decisions. The women are the only TRULY supreme members on it.
ReplyDeleteHobby Lobby owners are hypocrites. They buy cheap products from China (where human rights violations, abortion, and poverty-level wages are. They exploit others so they can financially profit here, and then scream "persecution!", because they have to pay for possible contraceptions (that many christians use, by the way).
ReplyDeleteThis is just all about sticking it to the black man in the White House, nothing else.
I love John Oliver but he needs to stop disparaging beets. He must not have tried them roasted in balsamic vinegar.
ReplyDeleteWho Supports the Hobby Lobby Decision? Old People.
ReplyDeleteIf you came of age before the sexual revolution of the 1960s, you're much more likely to think the Supreme Court made the right call.

Well, of course, those doddering "old people" aren't smart enough to realize that a MUSLIM sincerely held religious belief is empowered by the "hobby lobby" decision to introduce as much Sharia Law as they want.
DeleteJuly 2, 2014. The fun has started. Nancy French wants support for Hobby Lobby Love Day in Tennessee. Purchase you 4th of July supplies! The photos are rolling in.
