A group of Wisconsin militia wannabes are organizing themselves as unofficial gun toting poll watchers in heavily Democratic areas.

Courtesy of The Chippewa Herald:

A self-described militia group claims to be checking names on the 2012 Scott Walker recall petition and plans to confront those found to have outstanding warrants or tax defaults at the polls on Nov. 4.

"We prefer our people be armed," reads a Facebook post by Wisconsin Poll Watcher Militia, screen captured on a blog at Politicususa.com. "Some will be heading to some of Milwaukee, Racine, and Beloit's worst areas. We will be armed with a list of people to look for at each location."

The exchange posted on Politicususa continues:

Patrick Murray: "Just so you are aware, I will not report Republicans. Only Democrats."

Wisconsin Poll Watcher Militia: "We will be targeting heavy democrat districts, so it is doubtful this will even be an issue."

Another entry from the group's Facebook page, which has 31 likes as of Friday afternoon, reads: "Please private message us names of people you know are active voters and wanted on warrants. We can get our agents to watch their polling location, identify the individual, and then follow them to their residence. A call the police and they will be picked up for processing."

Another: "Attention all members: Militia training will be at HQ on September 20, 2014 at 0930. We will hand out updated watch lists, duty assignments, and discuss rules and regulations. Expect it to take around 2-3 hours. After our discussion we will be headed to the range for anyone who wants to participate."

So to be clear these individuals, who are almost undoubtedly Caucasian, are going to go into heavily Democratic neighborhoods in Wisconsin, many of which are certain to be occupied by mostly non-whites, while armed and then follow voters to their homes.

Oh and if you dare to approach one of their members you risk "being put down like a rabid dog."

First off let me just say that I seriously doubt that there are many potential voters who are wanted by the police. Maybe a few, but not enough to warrant this ridiculous overreaction.

Secondly if these idiots actually start following people to their houses that is harassment, and if they are lucky the police will pick them up and escort them out of town or lock them up. If they are not so lucky they may learn that the 2nd Amendment is a knife that cuts both ways, and that, surprisingly, you do not have to be an arrogant white guy to have access to a firearm.

I wouldn't worry about these pant pissers.
    They talk big on Facebook.

Exactly how are they going to know who is who at the polls? Do they think people will be handing over their IDs so a bunch of fat, clueless ammosexuals can--what, call the cops on them? Boy oh boy the population just gets dumber.

Yes, I wonder just how many will actually show up in "heavily Democratic" neighborhoods.

The big shutdown the border fandango got a whole 5 people to show up. Their silly ass facebook claimed that "unsubstantiated threats" from all the big Mexican cartels forced them to call it off.

      1) I'm pretty sure they don't know what the word "unsubstantiated" means, although it is multi-syllabic and therefore scary.
      2) I'm sure the big cartels would be surprised to learn that they had time amongst all their murderous activities to peruse the facebook posturings of a small shrill bunch of yappity cowardly racists US.

Are they planning on holding the volunteers at gun point so they can man the tables to hear people's names given? Are they going to flash their guns to scare people to walk home?

These are the breed of people who cheered Zimmerman for his police work. Sick

The WI repubs put thru a law authorizing "poll watchers" can stand within 3 ft of people as they sign in to vote. No need for guns. It's all legal in Walkerstan

The value in this to these TeaTHUGlican scum is that for people who are used to harassment for things such as "driving while black" "walking while wearing a hoodie (and being black) and in the wake of Ferguson and Martin's murder and the coverup - voters may well be intimidated. I hope not, but....

LOL,they are going to march their lily-white asses into the Hood and expect they will have have the only weapons. I think they may be surprised.

I am familiar with Beloit, Wisconsin. The black coimmunity is fed up with violence there, since shootings are at an all time high. Police presence has been increased, overtime pay at unprecedented lkevels. The LAST thing the local police needs are a bunch of trigger happy fools causing trouble. These guys might get a shock if they show up there. I am sure the other areas are just as volatile. The African American community has been holding steeet dances, prayer meetings and get togethers to try to improve relations within the area. They do not need troublemakers there.

I'd be curious to know if any undercover law enforcement officers attended that 'training' and left with a nice collection of names and photos. They might also have taken copies of the 'watch lists' so that they know where these yahoos will be congregating on election day. So much easier to find them that way!

Am really hoping Eric Holder knows all about this and is 'right on it'.

Scott Walker and his followers, and what he has brought to Wisconsin, is the reason I can no longer relate, speak to, or communicate with my deluded relatives in that state. Can't wait until people wake up, get educated to truth, and return to the Bob LaFollette tradition.

I agree - Wisconsin is a mess. I use to travel there regularly, but am now retired. My former employer's home base is there!

You couldn't give me a free ticket to that state today! Scott Walker has really, really, really damaged them.

Just like the Palins, these idiots are going to get their asses handed to them. Do they think the Feds don't monitor these crazy schemes? Voter intimidation is illegal and I really doubt that Eric Holder is going to stand for this. I know that the folks in the neighborhood won't stand for it.

A Facebook page was recently created call 'STOP the Wisconsin Poll Watcher Militia'. These idiots really are going to have their asses handed to them. Even the Black Panthers are commenting and they posted a rather intimidating photo on the page. They are not going to take this shit. Folks are notifying the FBI and Justice and requesting that the polls be monitored because this is a direct violation of the Voter Rights Act. People are organizing and getting riled up. I have to say that this seems like it will bring more people to the polls than normal for a mid-term. Good thing because that Governor has got to go.

I hope no one gets killed.

Two people commenting on Politicususa said they got followup phone calls from the DOJ and were told they are investigating. Apparently, the DOJ's received many complaints about the Facebook page and the threats, and they will be looking into the situation.

I suspect this is just a ridiculous propaganda stunt by some morans. Their whole mission sounds improbable and unworkable. How many people do they think they'd actually be able to follow? How are they going to find out people's names in the first place? It's retarded.

They will assume that any minority voter or any voter who does not look like them is voting democratic, and act accordingly. Scary. But they MUST be confronted. If not stopped now, this year, this election, we may not have a chance to stop them in the future. These people do. not. play. fair. And they intend to play for keeps. Sharing power is a concept that they refuse to agree with or understand.

But that's my point. They CAN'T just start harrassing black voters outside polling places. They CANNOT press them for personal information. They cannot detain or obstruct anyone's attempt to vote. They WILL go to federal prison.

Unless they are actually brain damaged, they KNOW this. At best, they could stand around looking surly waving their "don't tread on me" flags and shout pro-teabag slogans (I seriously doubt they can open carry within a few hundred yards of the polls), but if they in ANY way interfere with voters' access to the polls, they are in deep shit. This includes intimidating them by open carrying.

I'm saying it ain't ever happening, no way, no how. In this age of smartphones? Not gonna happen unless their whole intention is to "martyr" themselves by getting arrested.

I stand by my assessment that it is a hoax designed to instill fear, and frankly I think we've already taken it far too seriously just by acknowledging it.

    4. I agree with everything you said, Boscoe, except I don't think it's a hoax. We see it time and time again. These clowns and others like them think there is something magical about facebook. They talk big, say whatever the hell they want, get equally big-talking praise and encouragement in their comments for whatever lamebrained plan they have in mind, and tada, the actual event is a complete and utter failure.

They are lazy and stupid, and don't understand that there is more to event planning than being a facebook commando, but most of all, they are cowards.

I weep for Wisconsin. It used to be a wonderful place to live and Scott Walker has turned it into a cesspool of bitterness and hate. We now have a law in WI that allows poll watchers to be as close as 3 feet to poll workers, so, yes, these guys can stand behind the poll workers and check names against the computer database of those people who signed the recall petition. With our brand new concealed carry laws, these idiots can also carry their guns into the polls to further intimidate voters. I hate what Walker has done to this once lovely and friendly state.

Not too bright. How many trained military sharp shooters can it take to scare the crap from their pores. The GOP tried with ID laws during both Obama Campaigns here in Pennsylvania, and I have a feeling they'll try it again. Make it hard to impossible to get the proper id on time, do they think these people will just go home and not say anything?

This white woman helped people get their id's and coordinated volunteers to drive and escort people to the polls. And she'll do it again if she has to.

Thank you for your support of the voters. Walker is too smarmy and dull to have thought of this tactic. This smells like Rove/Koch intimidation to me. Walker is a dullard, no wonder the gop want him to remain in office then run for the WH. He looks like a country bumpkin, no intelligence in his cold, dead eyes. The people in Beloit will not tolerate these clowns.
