"I have no problem speaking in my house so what's the difference?" |
Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert said Sunday that he will challenge House Speaker John Boehner for his post when Congress returns this week to Washington.
Gohmert, among the House Republican caucus’ most conservative members, made the announcement on “Fox and Friends,” saying he decided to run after Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla., said Saturday that he would challenge Boehner for the chamber’s top post.
“We have heard from a lot of Republicans that said, ‘I would vote for somebody besides speaker Boehner.’ But nobody will put their name out there,” Gohmert said. “That changed yesterday with Ted Yoho.”
“After the November elections gave Republicans control of the Senate, voters made clear they wanted change,” Gohmert also said Sunday. “There have been numerous examples of problematic Republican leadership, but we were hopeful our leaders got the voters’ message. However, after our speaker forced through the CR omnibus by passing it with Democratic votes and without time to read it, it seemed clear that we needed new leadership. There had been much discussion. But, until yesterday, no one had stepped up.”
Sure why not?
I mean it's not like anybody takes Congress seriously anymore anyway.
Just for take a moment, close your eyes, and imagine Louis Gohmert as Speaker of the House.
Which one are you doing, laughing or crying?
Winner and still champ: Louie Gohmert, Lowest IQ in Congress. (Esp now, since Virginia Foxx and Michelle Bachman are gone.)
ReplyDeleteJust please don't cast aspersions on his asparagus.
ReplyDeleteYOOHOO! Yoho also too!

Trying to make a sentence with Yoho, Gohmert Boehner...
Trying real hard, real real hard- maybe if we had a nutcutter to explain what a gomer is- then could we make a sentence?
Nasty detail I just learned- don't be eating and read about the "deviated" gomer bulls :-(
Best thing for democrats ever!
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not. Gohmert would then automatically become President of the United States if anything happened to Obama and Biden.
DeletePlease, please, please! Louie for speaker!
ReplyDelete"are you doing, laughing or crying?"
ReplyDelete--------------------------------------------
Yes.
Given that we nearly had a complete moron a heartbeat away a few years back, it's too soon to move another blithering idiot into the queue for president.
ReplyDeletebest insurance Joe Biden will ever have
DeleteGood grief, I forgot about that!
DeleteNo amount of entertainment or potential implosion of the GOP is worth the possibility of that moron getting anywhere near the White House.
He's probably the dumbest person we have in Congress today, and if he got elected as Speaker of the House our country would really be in a mess. The evangelicals would be ecstatic about it by believing he could inject Christian beliefs into our government, pushing for laws against abortion, pushing for prayer in schools and in other government meetings, and laws that unconstitutionally restrict atheist and gays. I think just about everything I've heard from Gohmert's mouth has been scary and shows he's generally against the separation of Church and State, and I don't believe he sees anything wrong with stomping on the beliefs and rights of others who are not christians.
ReplyDeleteHe's certainly is a danger to the rights given to us in the Constitution, and would have no problem injecting his beliefs over the beliefs of others in government. Besides that, he seems to be an ignorant man who could have only been elected in a state like Texas.
Hm, I thought that the GOP thinks voters 'made clear' that they like the GOP and its disfunctionality. I thought they loved old orange John. I know they don't Lou except in his own district. I swear, the GOP is totally clueless about everything...a bunch of children making a lot of money bilking Americans with their dog whistles :"patriots," "God," "Constitution," "God," "Muslims dangerous," "Palestinians really bad," "I ran needs a good bombing," ":UN trying to take over our country" "climate change is just an Al Gore money maker." among others. Geez, Louie, you couldn't talk anyone else into a challenge? Maybe they don't WANT to split the vote and elect Nancy! Please proceed, GOP. The laughs are just beginning.
ReplyDeleteThese people are disturbing. It is hard to laugh.
ReplyDeleteThe Yahoo, aka Ted Yoho of the Gainesville area gerrymandered district is now being challenged by Louis Gohmert for leadership of the House of Represenatives? For some unexplainable reason my brain stutters. But then again the old wisdom tells us that it all has to bottom out before it rises again. No further comment.
ReplyDeletehe makes a good point. Boehner is being awfully cooperative with the White House.
ReplyDeleteA REAL Republican Speaker would have repealed ObamaCare more than 100 times, and not the measly 50 times that Boehner and company did it.
RINOs...
Like!
DeleteScrewy Louie?? Who is next Senatorette Lindsey Graham?? This should be amusing, but it is very disturbing that THIS is what this country has sunk to. Religious fabatics who get paid to do very little, yet they manage to screw everything up. They spend less than 1/3 of the year working, still get paid and get healthcare. Disgusting, really disgusting.
ReplyDeleteIt's infuriating and inconceivable that people as ignorant and downright stupid as Louie Gohmert get elected to ANY legislative office.
DeleteThis guy is the nuttiest nut in the nutbag (and that's saying a lot).
ReplyDeleteWake up, folks! This means that if Obama and Biden were both to be impeached or erased by someone at the GOP's behest, Gohmert would automatically become President of the United States!!!!! This is nothing to joke about – it is beyond serious, beyond scary, beyond full of horrible potential. The bagger wing of the GOP may be setting this up deliberately, for this purpose, because they sure as all-get-out do not trust Boehner to step into that position, should such a horrific event occur – no, they want a full-blown crazy for that job. And they have been promoting and inciting such an event for the past six years. May God have mercy on the United States of America if Gohmert replaces Boehner, is all I can say.
ReplyDeleteHow pathetic. This man must rank as the stupidest member of the House which means that the people in his district must be the stupidest people in the country. But to foist him on the whole House of Representatives is absolutely insane and, unfortunately, it doesn't surprise me a bit. Nothing coming from the Koch-owned GOP surprises me at all. But it is really bad for the country. I was right to dread the start of the new year.

Tea Baggers Go Coo Coo for Louie Gohmert
ReplyDelete...After all, this is the same Louie Gohmert who:
Said gay soldiers in ancient Greece just wanted massages, that “if you’re sitting around getting massages all day ready to go into a big, planned battle, then you’re not going to last very long”;
This past July, Gohmert, who hasn’t actually seen God, attempted to disprove atheism by pointing to something somebody else, who also hadn’t actually ever seen God, once told him;
Said without Jesus Americans are going to hell. Isn’t that a pastor’s worry, or even perhaps your own, rather than that of our elected representatives?;
Thinks Congress is a church council;
Condemned of President Obama for failing to use the Old Testament as a guide to his policies;
Wanted to defund the Executive Branch as a means of punishing Obama for not doing what Republicans want him to do;
Wanted Attorney General Eric Holder arrested for failing to share his delusions (and probably as revenge for Holder daring to be smarter than him).
On one day said that all this immigration is an Obama plot to keep Republicans out of office;
And a day later said that Latinos will vote Republican because they believe in God;
Wants Obama to “do what Woodrow Wilson did” and invade Mexico;
Said the Second Amendment is there to protect us from Sharia Law (actually, that would be the First Amendment).
I’ll just add to this list Gohmert saying in January that the GOP is “a big national organization of corporations” that “has declared war on us.” Maybe he forgot all that corporate money that created the Tea Party itself?
