Here let me drink this beverage first, and then I will get to writing a transcript. (An undertaking best accomplished under the influence of alcohol.)
Let's begin:
"Hey I often hear that members of the Establishment, they want the rest of us to just go away. Just kind of be quiet and leave them alone. Leave the business of government to them. And it's no wonder because that would mean that nobody's going to be watching when they do things like this. Uh tragically on the anniversary of Roe vs Wade, while the annual March for Life was taking place with tens of thousands of pro-life activists marching on D.C.. Republican Congressmen on Capitol Hill sold out the pro-life movement, by dropping the planned debate of a bill that would limit late term abortions. Except in the case of rape."
Now why did they do this? Why did they just drop it? Especially while so many pro-lifers were there, and busy, during that march on that significant anniversary? "
"Was it because the Congressmen and women, their constituents spoke out against the bill? Nooo. In fact the public is overwhelmingly in favor of limiting late term abortions. And is it any wonder? It's common sense. It's ethics."
"Polls show that even Americans who self identify as choice, they're against late term abortions. Which makes sense as I say."
"America has the most insanely lax abortion laws in the world when it comes to allowing late term abortions, right up until the baby is born. (Not true, the Roe vs Wade case states that abortion is legal until the life of fetus is considered viable outside of its mother's womb. That was determined to be 28 weeks, or seven months.) That's not the case in like Europe of any other civilized corner of the world. "
"So again why did the GOP cave on this? Well, apparently they’re afraid of being labeled anti-woman or offending the liberal media who might write bad things about them. Aw, boo hoo! If Republican office holders can't even advocate against late term abortions, for a five month old baby in the womb that's viable enough to live outside the womb well then what will they stand up for? (Okay now potential babies are NOT considered five months old while still in utero. They are unborn fetuses, and a fetus at five months is NOT considered viable.) If they can't stand up for this?"
"Our country can't afford to have the GOP constantly ducking for cover. We have too many important challenges in need of leadership. And the Republican leaders in Congress they need to stand strong. If they don't well the President's going to keep walking all over them, and all over our Constitution. And all over the American dream."
"So it's time to grow a backbone GOP. Stand tall and others will stand with you,"
Okay now here's the thing.
This bill was not killed by Congressmen ducking for cover, fearful that the liberal press might write bad things about them.
It was stopped by two strong willed CongressWOMEN who took offense at the language of the bill, and thought it discriminated against rape victims.
Here was a statement by one of the women, Rep. Susan Brooks of Indiana:
Brooks said she had concerns about the bill's requirement that exceptions for rape and incest apply only if the woman reported the assaults to police.
You know in the case of Alaska native women, they may not receive prenatal care until late into their pregnancies, and would be terrified to report a rape until they felt safe from their attacker.
So essentially Palin's position would ill serve her fellow Alaskan women, and force many of them to give birth to the child of their attacker. Who quite often turns out to be a family member.
This bill was stopped by female politicians that, despite being Republicans, were able to empathize with other women, and not put party before their obligation to protect the rights of their constituents.
And that is something that Sarah Palin, as Governor of Alaska, failed to do repeatedly.
(H/T to Wonkette.)
On a similar topic the folks over at News Corpse have noticed that Palin has been fairly stingy with content on her subscription channel, and are pointing out that she has not offered anything new for almost ten days now.
And they're right.
Damn the wonky eyed grievance machine needs to STFU.

How many late term abortions occur each year, barely any... women don't carry babies till the end of the pregnancy and wake up one morning thinking I don't want this baby anymore. There has to be a very serious problem for them to end a pregnancy that late in the game.
ReplyDeleteSarah, just because all of your friends and followers want to ban abortion doesn't mean the majority of Americans want to ban access to abortion. You live in a very small world, so don't assume that everyone shares your views.
I personally am pro-choice and pro-life. I want access to affordable/free birth control for all (a true pro-life stance since it stops unwanted pregnancies) and I don't want to worry about other peoples sex lives. Have all the sex you want as long as it is consensual and with another adult who cares!
Late term abortions are rare and most are to save the woman's life.
DeleteBTW I'm pro-choice/pro-child. A million yrs ago I had the bumper sticker saying it.

Delete"Which makes sense as I say."
ReplyDeleteI call bullshit on this.
Nothing she says makes any sense.
The only abortions that the United States Congress can limit are for poor women. Europe, Canada, etc. offer safe, private, affordable abortions for American women with the means to travel. No one in the US Congress would dream of legislation requiring women to pee on a test stick before boarding flights or crossing the border.
ReplyDelete"pro-life" people want to force poor women to have back alley abortions. That is the plain, simple truth.
I disagree. I bet if they thought they could get away with it they'd make peeing on a stick a mandatory part of TSA for every woman who files.
Delete7:23 p.m., agree. I was just going to say, "Don't give them ideas!"
DeleteThere she goes again, progressing Alaaaaska (women)...'tis the reason she quit ya know!
ReplyDeleteSome tests for birth defects can't be done until close to 20 weeks. Results must be analyzed, parents must make decisions, then, if a termination is desired or required, a medical professional willing to perform it must be found, and travel time must be included.
ReplyDeleteAbortion isn't about sitting lazily around until 19 3/4 weeks of pregnancy, then snapping one's fingers and deciding -- oops -- I think I don't want to be pregnant anymore. Palin can do whatever she wants to. She must allow all other women to live by the ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court. Roe v. Wade is now 42 years an established law. That's the end of it.
from WIKI:

I have always thought that this was much more damning (if the wild ride story is true) than her faking being pregnant.
DeleteAccording to a Washington Post online article:

DeleteJust to clarify, there is no need to "seal" medical records. HIPAA (federal law) prohibits medical providers from releasing them.
DeleteWhen did Sarah Palin actually post this video? The anniversary of Roe vs. Wade was Jan 22nd. The bill that was tabled without being voted on (thanks to the R women) was tabled before the anniversary of R vs.W. So, is Sarah really that late commenting on the BFD she now says it is? Isn't she offering us a Happy Valentine's Day? Or what about a Birthday Wish to herself? I mean, stay up with us Sarah, or get out of the race! Sheesh, I mean, why not wait longer to lie about the anti-abortion bill? Why now?

Sarah Palin, Bristol Palin, and Willow Palin don't have abortions, they have whiteouts on their medical records or simply give the newborns to a relative. Where's Willow's baby from her 9 month mono? Where is Bristol's DWTS baby? Where's Bristol's Joey Junker baby? What happened to Bristol's pregnant belly after the Novemver 14, 2007 Family photo with Todd, Sarah, Willow, Piper, and a Pregnant Bristol Palin? Most of us have seen that photo and have copies, so deleting it won't make it go away, Sarah. Can't Bristol speak for herself? Does Bristol have to ask Sarah for permission to speak publicly? Bristol did not ask for Sarah's permission to post Trig saying "bullshit" on Instagram.
ReplyDeleteBristol seems to be getting hush-money, at least 3 Louis Vuitton purses, Louboutin shoes (didn't Sarah once make fun of them?) What other expensive things has Bristol been getting? Oooh, trip to Vegas with Mommy and Daddy.
DeleteMemo to Willow, Track and Piper-- don't you guys want some stuff, too?
My thoughts exactly, Anonymous 6:23...Bristol is getting hush money. Or, she has many very high-paying clientele for her "skin" services.
DeleteHey Willow, what did Bristol do that warrants her getting all these goodies from your mother? Surely you know how many babies Bristol has had and would love to tell on her and destroy your mother in the process.
It will be interesting to see if dim-witted Bristol suddenly smartens up and spills the family secrets for a multi-million dollar tell-all book or article after Sarah's PAC runs dry.
At this point, Track (if he can get sober) could also do the revelations. Plus prove he's not a Palin.
Piper, I have no doubt you will also have your own out of wedlock child. You need to be thinking how you will support yourself when the PAC is empty and Sarah has no more resources to support her ever expanding "family".
Remember, the MSM isn't going to fork over money to all four of you "children"! Now is the time to figuratively strike, before it's too late.
I thought it was Bristol who had the nine-month mono, not Willow.

DeleteAlso, too, she's not wearing the XXL Belmonts under her bronze biker jacket.
She looks wasted.
DeleteSarah sure likes zippers!!! LOL. Remember her often worn black jeans with the white stitching outlining the fly front. Plus her $29.95 zippered camo shoes and the off centered zippered top she just wore (along with her inflated chest) at the recent female leadership conference.
DeleteSarah leans toward the guy on her right as that same guy arches his back to get away from her!
DeleteI thought Todd's Iron Dog was a big deal and took up all his time.
DeleteHe looks like he's been to a spa. Was he both in Texas and Las Vegas with Sarah? After Iowa I suppose he thought he should protect his investment?
What the heck did he get Sarah for her birthday?
Good for Todd for taking a break from Iron Dog to be the much needed assistant. Bristol is rilly off on her 'golden child' tangent of living the lifestyle of the riche and infamous. She is a success at looking more like Kim Khardasian. To her that's achievement.
"Why is she standing closer to the other guy instead of Todd?"

She's watched Rush Limbaugh bloviate his way to more money and power than she can even imagine by doing exactly what she's trying to do: lie, project, make stuff up, defame, and scream victim any time anyone tries to hold you accountable. DeleteSarah Palin is a big PUSSY who complains about everything and everybody and does nothing but photo ops.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Happy VD day to the Palins, has Bristol found her lumbersexual who is into sloppy 5ths?
ReplyDeleteSarah you are without a doubt a POS ,that pretty appears to be common knowledge anymore. However,I continue to be amazed that people are still buying your snake oil? Who can be that ignorant?Really?
ReplyDeleteWhat say you Sarah to the real world. You know the people struggling to make ends meet. You had Trig, so what, are you now a martyr? You make me sick, never has having a downs syndrome child stopped you from your ambition and that ambition is to put your botoxed face in front of every camera that will show it.
ReplyDeleteYou do not know nor comprehend the sacrifice of parents who do not posses your ill gotten millions. How dare you, you attention whore! Where was Trig when you and Bristol and Todd go on your trips to Vegas? who really takes care of him? Nothing stops the Sarah train. I for one am so sick of you going on about anti abortion, you are a supreme bitch.
And no you are not one of the "Common people" you don't struggle to make ends meet and you will someday put Trig in a "home" because when that kid reaches his teens you won't handle it.
While your at it tell Todd to get off his ass and be a man and get a job besides being your purse carrier. What real man quits working at the age of 45? Yeah he can be first dude, hell that's what we want to represent the United States! when he meets dignities at dinners he can talk about snow machines and his prostitute business.
You know your a tramp when your daughter dresses better than you. White trash who came into some money may appeal to some people but not the majority, tell your daughter to shut up with her bragging she is exposing your ripoff game.
Sarah used Trig as the emblem of her "right to life" in order to appeal to the religious right. She quit her job as governor in order to cash in at Fox, some book deals and reality shows. It's a pity that Sarah made so much money yet she doesn't seem to spend all that much on Trig's therapy. For the first few years of his life, he was dragged around as a prop. He should have been at home, following a regular routine and therapy at the earliest possible age. Insult to injury, they taught him to swear but he can't eat solid food.
Delete7:18 has it right. Sarah has no touch with ordinary people-- the single girl who has to choose between dropping out of school in order to pay for day care and therapy for a child that she can't afford and can't raise by herself-- or the family that already has more children than their budget can handle so both parents have to work several jobs just to pay for the ordinary stuff. Sarah has none of these worries. And, she would deny others the choice to manage their own lives while she often talked about making that same "choice" in her fake story of being pregnant with Trig.
Sarah did not give birth to Trig, but once she took possession of him, she also took on the responsibility to provide for his health and welfare. It's the least that she could do in return for using him as her prop.
What happened to Track Palin? Is he lonely and left out? Did the whole family get together to celebrate Sarah's 51 years like they did for Todd's last birthday?
DeleteSweeeet! Thank you for saying it again and so well.
DeleteDo you ever notice when the issue with Trig is brought up on this blog she immediately goes on somewhere about Roe v. Wade? She is very transparent to us, too bad she doesn’t have a clue about self reflection.

I agree. That was a shitty way to do it. It is as if we were not all that important. All this talk of an unconventional campaign. Even though I am sad, I also feel used. If she thinks she has a loyal following for her future endorsements, she is sadly mistaken. I am at a loss right now.

ReplyDeleteTrig is her claim to fame with the anti abortion crowed, she has used that kid from day one.Ask yourselves this, what kind of Mother would accept to run for the vice presidency of the United States with an unwed pregnant teen daughter and a down syndrome baby.
ReplyDeleteThat tells you all you need to know about her, a narcissist spoiled brat who has always put herself first.
It seemed clear to me after reading the McGinness and Dunn books that she HAD to accept the 2008 VP nomination because she knew it was her only chance. She wasn't an on-the-rise governor who could afford to spend years gaining experience, knowledge, and polish; the house of cards she called her administration was crumbling, and it seems very likely that, one way or another, she would have been finished politically well before 2012. If she ever wanted to be a national player, she had to not blink and burst through the door that the McCain campaign so kindly provided her. Trig and even Bristol and the other kids? Collateral damage. Acceptable losses.
DeleteI had the same questions, Anon at 8:03 pm. Had she really been Trig's mother and really wanted him to have as much success in life as possible, she would never had accepted the nomination. Similarly, had she really loved Bristol and realized the potential problems her other teen-aged children were likely to face, she would not have accepted the nomination. Do I oppose women in politics? Not at all. But, first things first. And, considering that Sarah Palin loves to hector other women about choices that may have been forced to make because of unimaginable circumstances, Sarah Palin clearly shows that she has no leadership potential when it comes to women.

DeleteIn typical Palin fashion, Ms Word Salad takes a subject and twisted the facts into something she can disagree with. 2% of all US abortions is classified as late term. Many factors go into this number though which Palin fails to discuss.
ReplyDeleteI suspect that the vast majority of that 2% have to do with the immediate threat of maternal death or fetal death. Sarah Palin would not understand any of that. Look at her fictional story of Trig's birth. It's a dreadful story; it's only redeeming feature is that it is fiction. Imagine, if she had really been pregnant at the time, not taking the time to stop and have the baby checked out before starting on that very long return trip by air to Alaska from Texas. It would have seemed that she was more interested in inducing a late-term abortion than a birth.

Was Tri-G born very prematurely?
Delete6:00 AM
DeleteWhich Trig? I would like to know what happened to SpongeBob SquarePants? That was last time she gave birth, if you believe the tight ab story. The Fish Picker tale is too far out and unbelievable.
Sounds like she tried to get Bristol to have an abortion when she was pregnant with Trig.
DeleteA 20-week fetus has ZERO chance of surviving; its lungs aren't functional and neither is its heart (still has the hole in it). It doesn't have the body fat to keep itself warm and the digestive tract isn't formed enough to be able to tolerate feeding.
Delete@8:00 am; Tri-G was likely born at 28 - 32 weeks (depending on which version of the story Screechy is telling), either at Mat-Su (not allowed to deliver special-needs infants or premature ones) or in Anchorage (which would be the only safe place for a preterm Down Syndrome baby to be born).
DeleteThere's a huge difference between a 20-week fetus and a 32-week fetus.
5 months is not late term. A fetus born at 5 months has little chance of surviving. If it can be sustained artificially, it has a very good chance of being born with any number of birth defects.
DeleteLove how the thesis statement on the "channel's" home page reads, "This channel is about you." Bull fucking shit. As with all things Palin, her channel is all about her and nothing more.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised when the Republican Congresswomen refused to support the bill. But they were representing their constituents.
ReplyDeleteAnd whether Sarah likes it or not, that is Democracy with a capital D. We elect people to represent us, not Sarah Palin.
Here in Maine, we have a new Republican Congressman Bruce Poliquin, who ran as a far right guy. Well, surprise surprise, Bruce was one of three Republicans in the House who voted against repealing Obamacare. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. Bruce said that too many Mainers rely on Obamacare and he is not going to pull the rug out from under them. Imagine that, a Republican who is representing the District (my District actually). Yeah I say. And of course, there are plans already in the works to primary Bruce in 2016.
Wouldn't it be nice if all members of Congress actually worked for the folks they represent. So, I guess there is hope for this Congress (maybe).
I sure wish our Congressman, Dr. Dan Benishek, would vote in favor of his constituents once in a while. He's a surgeon who became a millionaire in northern Michigan, which is not a well-to-do area, and he's opposed to everything that helps poor or ordinary people. Of course, his ads always feature his stethoscope draped over his shoulder and he likes to surround himself with senior citizens, children and veterans. But he does nothing to support their issues on the floor of the House. Glad to hear that your right-wing Congressman voted to keep the ACA.
