GOP donors so concerned about the possibility of a Trump nomination that some are actually contemplating a vote for Hillary.

Courtesy of The Hill:

When asked who he would vote for if the presidential race comes down to Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, the former mayor of Los Angeles and a longtime Republican establishment figure, Dick Riordan, says: "I would probably go find a deserted island."

"I think Hillary is disgusting," said Riordan, a wealthy investor who has exceeded $500,000 in political donations throughout his career. "

And I think Trump is crazy," Riordan added in a telephone interview Monday.

Riordan is not alone. In conversations over the past month, GOP establishment donors have confided to The Hill that for the first time in recent memory, they find themselves contemplating not supporting a Republican nominee for president.

Most, however, still believe that Trump will flame out before they have to face that decision.

According to one story some donors were even considering the unthinkable:

A story that circulated after the lunch was that the donors engaged in a hypothetical question: "If it was Donald Trump running against Hillary Clinton, who would you vote for?"

One version has it that most of the Republicans at the table put their hands up for Clinton.

That version of events was quickly refuted of course because, you know, damage control.

However even if donors are starting to panic, Trump's base is letting NOTHING dissuade them from supporting the big orange blowhard.

Female supporter: "Don't try to screw this up. Don't try to skew it. You're not going to convince me otherwise."

I think that about sums it up.

These are the low hanging fruit, the people who are driven by ideology and care nothing for facts or honesty.

And now you know where all of those Sarah Palin supporters ended up.

It's truly disheartening to know there are so many Americans who, through their own fear and ignorance, support and look up to a liar and rabble-rouser like Donald Trump. To think that anyone could believe that this individual is fit to be President of the United States of America and leader of the free world is incomprehensible to me.

    In the Feel-Good News Department:

Finally some long-awaited good news on the climate change front: a new survey finds that fewer Americans now believe that climate change represents a serious threat. It appears as if a lot of empty talk about reducing man-made climate changing carbon emissions plus the consistently dismissive rhetoric of heroic ultra-conservative, uber-religious, anti-science politicians is finally paying off. Relieved Americans have been urged to celebrate this victory of belief and wishful thinking over science by shopping recklessly, drinking heavily and eating massive quantities of salty, fatty and sugary foods.

Of course our lady of the lake, Mrs. Palin will continue to support Mr. Trump. She pretends to endorse his bombast and pathology as just good common sense solutions. In actuality she, of course, sees nothing of the sort for she has no convictions, no moral compass and certainly no hope for a post in an imagined Trump administration. She may be stupid and is certainly unread and haphazardly semi-educated but she has survived what was likely an abusive and shitty childhood along with the derision and dismissal of almost the entire goddamn world and she didn't do it because she doesn't smell the main chance like a pig smells truffles. She's got her hooks into this fat fuck and she's gonna hang in.

"This country needs a businessman for president"

That's the line that drifted over from a neighboring table at the hotel "free" breakfast. These people don't listen to candidates. They don't evaluate the issues and the proposals. They don't THINK.

GOP don't just worry about GOP donors disenfranchised and upset by Donald Trump.

You need to worry about GOP voters and voters who have no alignment to the GOP,.

The GOP needs to worry about African-Americans (you know the blacks) , women and girls whose faces doesn't look like Trump's wife and daughter faces, women and young ladies who are menstruating or not, the Mexians (you know the criminal, drug addicts, murdering Mexicans ) and good descent Mexicans who want to live the American dream then there's the Muslim voters who just try to live the American dream, the handicap and disabled who can't help the way they talk and flail their arms around, and everybody else Donald Trump has insulted with his hateful rhetoric.

  8. Once again we are subjected to the opinions of someone wealthy. When is the media going to get over its love affair with the opinions of the rich? I don't care who Riordan is or have any interest in his opinions. This crap is reported as if it matters. It doesn't take a disillusioned GOPer to know Trump is a toxic wasteland. Trump is just a little hint of what you can expect by continuing to court the radicalized right.

Sarah Palin's rhetoric turned off many loyal Republicans and everybody else off in 2008 and cost the GOP any chance of winning the White House. How does the GOP feel about Donald Trump wanting ass kissing Sarah Palin in his 2016 administration?

What's going on here? Sarah Palin was advertising her Sweet Freedom book signing tour then after the first couple of book signing appearances we read Sarah Palin canceled some of her future book signing appearances. How come Sarah is asking her friends to help Sarah sell her book on her Facebook page? What's wrong with Sarah giving her followers the joy of meeting Sarah Palin herself in person, getting her signature and buying her picture with them?

It would seem that her followers aren't interested in that particular joy.

Or that she doesn't have many followers anymore, and even dimwitted Sarah Palin understands it's embarrassing to hold book signings that no one attends.

Trump shunned by Hispanic GOP lawmakers as black pastors make him change campaign plans

Still reeling from the cancellation of a press conference with black pastors, where he hoped to gain their endorsement, 2016 GOP presidential front runner Donald Trump also has a Hispanic problem — specifically, Republican Hispanic members in the House of Representatives who want nothing to do with him.

According to The Hill, Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric and attacks on Mexicans as “rapists” is keeping Hispanic lawmakers at an arm’s length, not wanting anything to do a candidate who is making a political party already unpopular with a growing Latino populace even more unpopular.

House Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL), who is in his first term, wants nothing to do with Trump.

“He would have to start by apologizing to all the people he’s offended and for the mockery that he’s made out of the presidential campaign,” said Curbelo.

Echoing many Republicans, including big money GOP donors who are sinking millions of dollars into a PAC created to destroy Trump before he can win the presidential nomination, Curbelo thinks a Trump presidency would be “a bad thing for the country.”

Of greater concern to Hispanic lawmakers is Trump’s attacks on Hispanic broadcasters, media outlets, and protesters that could hurt gains in Latino-rich states like California, Colorado, Nevada and Florida.

Trump seems to become more blatantly hateful with every passing day.

He's like a toddler who throws a tantrum and gets the cookie he wanted all along. The next time he'll yell louder and stamp his feet harder because he got a reaction that reinforced his behavior. Every day that his numbers don't plummet is seen by Trump as a challenge to show even more venom towards anyone who isn't old, white and rich.

Combine the emotional maturity of a 2-year-old with a narcissistic megalomaniac and you have a terrifyingly dangerous Presidential candidate.

  19. Too bad they didn't throw Bernie into that mix.

I'll bet if they got no hands on Trump or Hillary, they'd all vote for Bernie as a third choice.

This election is going to come down to the Independents. And they aren't going to like Trump or Hillary. But I bet they'd vote for Bernie.

Hillary needs to put Bernie on the ticket or Bernie needs to put Hillary on the ticket. Between the two of them they'll win no matter who the GOP puts up against them. Singly? It's a crap shoot. And we can't take a chance at a Republican in the White House for the next four years. Especially not one from the clown car. They all suck.
