The UK Parliament debates denying Donald Trump access to their country.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

Debate began Monday in the British Parliament over whether to ban U.S. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump from visiting the United Kingdom.

The debate, which was started by an online petition that described Trump’s comments about Muslims as “hate speech,” will not produce any binding decisions. Authority to ban someone from the country rests with the home secretary, not with Parliament. But the debate will give British lawmakers an unusual chance to weigh in directly on U.S. politics.

Some are concerned that blocking Trump would send an unfortunate message to America:

Paul Flynn said Mr Trump's call to ban Muslims from the US was "extremely dangerous" but barring him from the UK risked being seen as anti-American.

Yeah I would not worry about that as most of us view Donald Trump as "anti-American."

MP Tulip Siddiq seemed to have a better handle on the situation:

British Member of Parliament Tulip Siddiq urged her colleagues on Monday to support a ban on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, arguing that he would put Britons at risk by importing “violent ideology.”

Although MPs who spoke all agreed that Trump’s vitriol against immigrants had been out of bounds, most argued that banning him was not the best way to deal with the issue.

Siddiq, however, insisted that Trump would be endangering British Muslims if he was allowed into the country.

“This online petition signed by nearly 600,000 people shows that when people feel a sense of justice, when people feel we need to stop a poisonous corrosive man from entering our country, they will act in good conscience.”

“His words are not comical, his words are not funny, his words are poisonous,” she continued. “They risk inflaming tension between vulnerable communities.”

Excellent points.

As for how Americans will see a banning of Donald Trump from the UK?

Well I think most of us would understand completely, and then start considering options for how we could do the same thing here.

What most Americans probably don't know is that it is against the law in the UK to incite racial hatred, there is no right to free speech, if Trumpster repeated his vitriol in the UK he could be arrested. That is the reason the Home Secretary would use if he were to be banned.

    1. Another MP said it would make him a martyr, citing that Brits pleaded with Iowans in some past election not to endorse the Republican candidate and he won "because of their interference."

Still -- I say ban the SOB and see what happens. It would send a message to U.S. independents that Trump is a decisive, hate-mongering loudmouth whose election would not be in the best interests of foreign affairs.

But I doubt the British Parliament will ban him, despite over 600,000 Brits wanting this. Isn't this rather unheard of?

This doughboy is a disgrace and a fool,a fake tough guy channeling a movie gangster,a fat fuck who couldn't fight his way out of a Belgian waffle. He should be stripped to his size 46 shorts and left in Central Park to have the living shit beaten out of him by passers-by who are embarrassed by his being a fellow New Yorker and then blindfolded and driven in the trunk of a smelly taxi to a parking lot in Juarez. And then have the dogshit beaten out of him again. The asshole of the century, a toxic pariah, a human fly.

@ 4:08 Thanks for the link, very informative article. Also I did not know that Rubio is not eligible also.

Makes me wonder if the GOP knows this and the USA is being hoaxed again or they are willfully ignorant.

One item I did research after reading the article from the Dallas newspaper was Cruz's birth certificate.

If you read it carefully under the mother its states: mothers name before birth, which seems like an awkward way to state maiden name. I checked samples of Alberta birth certificates, but couldn't find an example from 1970.

Maybe there is someone here from Alberta that could clarify.

      ------------
#1 Isn't that jumping the gun, he has even gotten the nomination yet. He hasn't even won a primary yet. I think she is there to take away TV time from Cruz, after all Trump is a reality tv star.

#2 this is getting to be more like ground hog day, Bristol gives birth and your telling us Trump is going to chose Sarah as VP? At least Sarah saved herself the fake pregnancy this time.

#3 Aren't we luck Sarah will be on the campaign trail spreadin' that hate, spewin' those vulgar, ignorant comments and blowin' those toxic ideas all over this land.

This may be Trumps master plan. Get her to enforce him and offer her nothing. I bet he never plans to have her on the road with him with her salad talk. He said he knows how to work people. He will praise her for her voters, get Cruz pissed. Trump is doing everything he can to trample him and this will do it. If she endorse Trump, we will never see her again. You can bet she will never be offered a post. He may tell her, we will see, haha.
