Pennsylvania appeals court rejects Bill Cosby's attempt to have his sex abuse case thrown out.

Courtesy of The Guardian:

A Pennsylvania appeals court has rejected Bill Cosby’s attempt to throw out his criminal case because of what he called a decade-old deal not to prosecute him.

The mid-level state superior court ruled Monday that the criminal sex assault case against Cosby can proceed, prompting the district attorney to press for a preliminary hearing date.

Cosby, 78, is facing trial over a 2004 encounter at his home with a then Temple University employee who says she was drugged and molested by the comedian. Cosby says they engaged in consensual sex acts.

Former prosecutor Bruce Castor has said he promised he would never prosecute Cosby and urged him to testify in the woman’s 2005 civil lawsuit. The release of that testimony last year led a new prosecutor to arrest him.

Now that I am finally over the shock that Fat Albert's dad is women drugging, sexually molesting sleazebag,  I just want to see him found guilty and thrown in jail.

The idea that this man was once held up as role model and an idol to millions just makes me sick.

I actually bought his book on Fatherhood. A fact which embarrasses the hell out of me in light of these revelations.

Many of us grew up listening to Bill Cosby, and my Mom and I attended his concert during Mother's Weekend at my university back in the 70s. Who didn't watch "The Cosby Show" on NBC? He was the All-American dad.

I could not stand by him if I were Camille.

Camille has known what he has done for decades, money for her lifestyle outweighed decency a long time ago.

  2. There are 526 copies of Fatherhood available at Amazon "beginning at $0.01," Gryphen, so evidently many people aren't keen on keeping their copies around.

The sad part is this predator has ruined so many lives for decades and it seems that he had so many enablers helping him commit and cover up his crimes.

Cosby Demands NY Mag Hand Over Information About Accusers

The magazine calls it a “blind and inappropriate effort” to go through its records.

  9. See, Bill. Now if, instead of entertainment, you had been a high school wrestling coach who molested teen boys then worked your way into politics, you'd have star Republicans pleading for leniency in your case.

Mr Jello, the first show on television with professionally employed middle class African Americans, The first detective show where and African American and White Man were equals, he was a role model and the consummate stand up comic for years. He lectured black men and acted like a cad the whole time . We got rooked into buying his book, so you're not alone, Gryphen. Bruce Castor, his bff, needs his own comeuppance.
The sad thing is Camille KNOWS everything, but threw the victims under the bus to keep herself in the manner she was used to.

I think we have to acknowledge that many of us are both bad and good. Most of our founding fathers owned slaves and wrote about freedom. Most of us have some things in our past we are a bit ashamed of. I, personally, believe that Mr. Cosby is guilty of many of the charges leveled against him (if not all). Does that make me unhappy that I laughed at his Noah routine? No. He brought much joy into my life and in many ways he changed the nation. But that does not give him a pass on what he did. No, there hasn't been a trial, but I do believe the women who have come forward.

Camille may know everything now, but I'm not sure she did before 2005. From what I've read, there haven't been any accusations of assaults after the first public accusations in 2005 and a settlement. I think she found out what had been going on and put a stop to it. Should she have done more? Maybe. But it's not all about money. She's been his manager and with this on her side, could have left him and taken most of their joint assets.

We didn't see the whole man, as we usually don't. We don't need to beat ourselves up about that, but maybe learn a lesson.

You stay in a marriage with a cheater because you love him and hope he'll change. You stay in a marriage with a rapist because............?
Here's the appropriate moment to use that 'special place in hell for women' comment.
Camille Cosby has struck me as a wrong woman from the start of this(not wrongED woman). She could've started over on her own with all her college degrees at any time and the public would've been on her side but she chose to stay in a biiiig house on a very private compound and live very rich.
And I'll bet she said at least once in the past, concerning those poor women who were attacked and raped by her fucking husband, "Well, at least it's not me tonight. Those whores had it coming. Back to my Neiman Marcus catalog...."

I, for one always thought him to be a shitty stand up comic. His shtick was always a "safe" black dude, a cute humorist who let crackers in on what a gas it was to grow up in a ghetto, what with Fat Albert and all. I always figured that his worst offense was being a lousy third rate monologist who never made me laugh, not once, but was I ever fucking wrong. If this goof isn't a felon I'll eat my hat.

Richard Pryor was always a better comedian than rapist Cosby.
Rich could almost bring you to sad tears over what his life had shown him, but the next moment have you laugh and LEARN something about Life(shout out to Mudbone!).
I distinctly remember him saying this about rape in a stand-up on the Sunset Strip, "wow man, how can you do that to someone, steal their humanity like that?"
And during this time period was when Rapist Cosby was slamming black artists like Richard Pryor & Eddie Murphy for being 'vulgar' and 'bad examples'. How bout dat?

Don't be embarrassed Gryph. You just didn't know.
    For example:
I used to LOVE Joseph Cotten, the old Hollywood actor you might remember from Citizen Kane, & many others. He was a FINE actor. So talented. And rabidly racist. I had no idea about that part of Cotten until I was well into my 30's. He would organize against the black actors on set. Such an asshole. It tempers my old movie binge watching. I LOVED The THird Man, The Magnificent Ambersons, etc. but now can't view without my little voice in my noggin (my conscience) saying, "hey you know that guy was a bigot and an asshole, right?"

I used to laugh at the old stand-up that rapist Cosby did that HBO showed round the clock back in the 80's, too. Now I just hate the old rapist. Nothing funny or talented about that old predator to me anymore.

When I was in college one of my professors went to the school where Cosby supposedly got his Ph.D.. It was a well known fact that the President of the university met Cosby on a plane and for $$$ from Cosby would give him a Ph.D..Not a honorary title but an official degree as if he had done the course work which he did not do.My Prof was livid at the unfairness and fraudulence .Then Cosby would brag about his superior knowledge when the whole Ph.D. was a sham. Much like cosby himself. He is far beyond despicable.
