Trump team now coming out pretty aggressively against this recount effort.

"But this is the president-elect’s position right now and I would say he has been incredibly gracious and magnanimous to Secretary Clinton at a time when, for whatever reason, her folks are saying they will join in a recount to try to somehow undo the 70 plus electoral votes that he beat her by. I mean this — you know, I was asked on CNN and elsewhere, goodness a thousand times, will Donald Trump accept the election results? And now you’ve got the Democrats and Jill Stein saying they do not accept the election results? She congratulated him and conceded to him on election night. I was right there. And the idea that we are going to drag this out now where the president-elect has been incredibly magnanimous to the Clintons and to the Obamas is incredible."

The above was from this morning, but Conway was also talking about it yesterday:

“What a pack of sore losers,” she said in a statement on Saturday. “After asking Mr. Trump and his team a million times on the trail, ‘Will HE accept the election results?’ it turns out Team Hillary and their new BFF Jill Stein can’t accept reality.”

“Rather than adhere to the tradition of graciously conceding and wishing the winner well, they’ve opted to waste millions of dollars and dismiss the democratic process. The people have spoken. Time to listen up. #YesYourPresident,” Conway said.

And then both she and Reince Priebus talked on NBC and Fox News about the recount:

Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, Conway said the recount effort was “confounding and disappointing.” And Reince Priebus, the incoming White House chief of staff, said on “Fox News Sunday” that the planned recount would serve “only to divide this country when we need to come together.”

No, actually this recount can serve to bring the country together by proving beyond any doubt that Trump legitimately won this election, (You know aside from all of that Russian hacking, unnecessary GOP investigations, and FBI putting their thumb on the scale of course.)

The only way it would further divide the country would be if.....Oh, so perhaps there is something to find here?

By the way do I even need to remind everybody that Trump once said this:

"I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters and to all of the people of the United States, that I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election - if I win," he said.

He added he would accept "a clear election result," but reserved the right to contest or file a legal challenge in the case of a questionable result.

And that was BEFORE the election even took place.

Yet now that he has "won," he would fault the Hillary campaign, or anybody else, for wanting to request a recount?

I guess it really doesn't matter that my irony meter has been broken for over a year now, because this would probably just break in anyhow.

We have a reactionary and histrionic POTUS elect on our hands and his staff only mirrors his personality defect.

This group is just unbelievable. Anyone recall how our current POTUS and his wife were trolled in the worst ways possible and they never took the low road, and especially never took to social media to drag those that trolled them?

The beauty about POTUS elect and his intelligence-deficient crew of miscreants is that they are so.fucking.easy.to.troll.

Never can we, the American public have so much fun trolling an actual POTUS and his regime of sycophants, seriously, this is going to be 4 years of trolling the goddamn POTUS and his flying monkeys and getting either a personal response or a full blown media response every.goddamn.time.

It's just twisting Trump's guts that more people voted for Hillary Clinton than voted for him. And this whole recount thing in Wisconsin seems to have driven him bananas. The result is a tweet alleging that the Clinton campaign orchestrated millions of illegal votes in 2016.2 This message went out to all 16 million of his followers, who will surely pass it along to another 16 million or so—and then the media will pass it along to yet millions more.

This is an obvious lie, and it will probably take a few hours for Trump's TV shills to figure out how to defend it. That's how it worked with the "thousands of Muslims celebrating on 9/11" thing. But eventually his spear carriers dug up a few internet factoids that provided them with a way to claim that Trump was right, and away they went. I'm sure the same thing will happen this time. I can't wait to see how many will join in and exactly what dreck they'll dredge up to justify it.

Alternatively, they could just admit that the Republican president-elect is an epically insecure liar who will say anything when his fragile ego is bruised. That's not a very appealing alternative, is it?

Donald Trump’s False Cry-Baby Election Recount Tweet

He’s whining about an election he won while spreading dangerous and outright false lies.

The president-elect just tweeted something petulant, wildly incorrect and dangerous. In other words, it’s a day ending in “y.”

At 3:30 p.m. on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, when most people were enjoying the final hours of peace before returning to work from the holiday, Donald Trump raged like a toddler being dragged around the supermarket about his popular vote loss.

“In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally,” the next leader of the free world tweeted to over 16 million people.

Trump is currently losing the popular vote by over 2 million to Hillary Clinton....

Trump Threatens To Prosecute Hillary Clinton If She Pursues An Election Recount

The incoming President of the United States claims that we have such massive voter fraud that millions of people voted illegally — so many in fact that they switched the winner in the popular vote. That is one heck of a claim, and on its face could argue for a nationwide recount and audit of the vote. A recount to double-check the numbers; and an audit to ensure that the numbers are correct, e.g., there was no cheating, no hacking, etc.

Trump’s “millions of votes stolen” claim is also astounding in that it shows just how bothered Trump is by the fact that Hillary Clinton is now beating Trump in the popular vote by at least 2.2 million votes, or by 1.4 points. I ran the numbers yesterday, and Trump’s is the 3rd weakest election of a president in American history. And if you look at the raw numbers, the 2.2 million loss to Hillary, Trump’s is the worst “victory” ever.

To call Trump’s popular-vote loss to Hillary a lack of a mandate is an understatement. Hillary Clinton arguably received the mandate on November 8, while the public voted in record numbers to repudiate Donald Trump.

And that is why Trump is now openly freaking out on Twitter, as many of us predicted he would — just not this soon. Only 8 hours ago I predicted that if you want to get under Trump’s skin, question his legitimacy. Today’s tweets prove that I was right.

...Trump likes to come across as a paragon of strength. But like all bullies, there’s a kernel of weakness and insecurity underlying and motivating the bluster. Trump’s life has been one long attempt to be accepted into the big-boys’ club. Trump desperately wants respect from the New York Times and New York’s wealthy elite, but Trump’s Jed Clampett tastes (you know foreign dignitaries are howling after visiting Trump’s Liberace-inspired Saudi palace in Trump Tower) and boorish personality (“pussy grabbing” comes to mind) means Trump will never be more than a pathetic, vulgar joke to those he pines for the most.

And that is why losing the popular vote by such a spectacular number has so unmoored Donald Trump that he is lashing out on Twitter, even after he won the election. It’s the ultimate slap in the face in what should be Trump’s ultimate conquest. If becoming the leader of the free world isn’t enough to wipe away Trump’s stench of mediocrity, then nothing else can.

So why is Stein pushing a recount that only benefit the very candidate who Stein didn’t want to win?

Fast forward to this week. Shortly after Stein announced her recount effort, where did she go to announce it? The Russian state propaganda network, RT. (See video below.)

Oh, but it gets better. The main reason a lot of us are concerned about the results of the election is because Russian has been trying to hack, and disinformation, its way in to getting its preferred candidate, Donald Trump, elected. And it worked.

So did Jill Stein mention any of this during her nearly 9-minute interview with Russian state propaganda? Did Jill Stein bother telling RT that the very reason many Americans are worried about the results of the election, the reason many of them want a recount, the reason they gave Jill Stein several million dollars for a recount, is because of Russia’s efforts to hack the election, including, but not limited to, the Wikileaks hacks and the “fake news” that the Russians helped create and disseminate?

    No.

Donald Trump may have won the election, but he lost the American people. Trump comes to office with no mandate.

To date, Trump is behind Hillary Clinton in the popular vote by over 2.2 million votes: the worst absolute margin of victory in all of American history. The runner-up? George Bush losing the popular vote by over 500,000 in 2000.

And it’s just as bad for Trump where it really counts, in his percent of the total vote. Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary by 1.63 points (1.63%), and growing. Hillary currently has 47.97% of the vote, while Trump only has 46.34%.

That means Donald Trump won the presidency by the 3rd worst margin in American history. Let that sink in a moment.

...Quite simply: The American people did not vote for Donald Trump; they voted for Hillary Clinton. Trump’s loss in the popular vote isn’t just indicative that Trump has no mandate, it’s a truly unprecedented rebuke of an incoming president.

Keep these numbers in mind as Donald Trump, Paul Ryan, and Trump’s stand-in as president, the ultra-far-right Mike Pence, try to implement their radical un-American agenda, starting with the abolishment of Medicare.

Your trains may run on time, but there may be some fat motherfucker from NJ jacking up your commute with his orange cones!

I hope people are capturing Trump's tweets, an adult might try to "clean up the mess"

I suspect they know the election was rigged, now they are trying to bully their way into the WH.

I hope trump has a stroke over this recount and his mouth and little twitter fingers are paralyzed.

If anything, he should be supporting any recounts. This is a democracy after all. He thinks he in untouchable no matter what he does and I hope that will be his downfall.

Regarding his current tweets today..you can’t really have it both ways...you can’t say that millions of illegal votes cost you the popular vote win but imply they didn't affect the electoral college that gave you a win? I mean, which one is it.
