Just a reminder that Hillary Clinton's popular vote count now exceeds Trump's by over 2.5 million.

Courtesy of Time:

Hillary Clinton’s lead in total votes over President-elect Donald Trump has reached 2,526,184 as ballots continue to be tallied.

As Clinton’s popular lead surpasses 2.5 million votes, it grows larger than the lead with which 10 presidents have won the general election, the New York Times reports. That means Clinton is up by 1.9 percentage points overall in the popular vote — approaching the lead that polls predicted in the final days before the election, the Times notes.

The disparity between the general election results and Trump’s electoral college lead of 306 over Clinton’s 232 shows how the electoral college system currently disadvantages Democratic voters because of their concentration in certain cities and regions.

Actually these numbers are already outdated.

According to the Cook Report Clinton now leads Trump by 2,564,276.

And that lead is only going to grow.

In fact in response to those proposed recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania Trump's lead in those targeted states is already diminishing.

You may remember that in Wisconsin the state already threw out over 1,000 Trump ballots even before the recount began.

Well as it turns out the same thing is happening in Pennsylvania:

According to this USA Today article and several other sources, the vote totals in Pennsylvania had Donald Trump winning by 70,638 votes – a number which was often quoted as a reason for why Hillary Clinton would supposedly have no chance of flipping the state in a recount. But earlier today, the respected Decision Desk HQ posted the newly revised totals from Pennsylvania, which have Donald Trump ahead by just 46,938 votes. That means Trump’s lead in the state has now shrunk by 23,700 votes, based on what it says are newly revised numbers out of Philadelphia.

It now appears that the Trump campaign is so worried abotu what they might find in Michigan that they filed a legal petition to stop Jill Stein from demanding a recount there:

The Trump campaign filed a legal petition Thursday to stop Michigan's presidential recount, saying Jill Stein has no chance of winning and no grievance, and there's no way that a hand count can be done before the Electoral College meets on December 19.

"Despite being a blip on the electoral radar, [Green Party nominee] Stein has now commandeered Michigan's electoral process," said Trump's petition to Michigan's Board of State Canvasser. "Indeed, on the basis of nothing more than speculation, Stein asks that Michigan residents endure an expensive, time-consuming recount, and the scrutiny and hardship that comes with it."

Gee, why so defensive?

Russian hackers, FBI interference, and non-stop partisan attacks, and still Trump loses the popular vote by a huge margin.

No victory lap for you Tangerine Fuhrer.

Trump Is Desperately Tying To Stop The Recounts In Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania

...If the recount is as unimportant as Republicans are claiming it to be, why are they filing lawsuits to stop it? If the recount won’t change the results in the three states, why challenge it? A recount that showed Trump winning would serve to add legitimacy to his presidency. Legitimacy should be a priority as Trump is losing the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by 2.5 million+ and counting.

There has to be a reason why Republicans don’t want the recount. It might be that the recount could flip a state or two to Hillary Clinton, and further weaken the most unpopular major party nominee to win the White House. It may be that the margin is so close in the three states, that Donald Trump could lose the election on a recount. This result is extremely unlikely, but Trump supporters might view this as a risk not worth taking.

No matter what the reason, it’s now clear that Republicans don’t want the recount to move forward, and they are pulling out all the stops to keep the votes in close swing states from being recounted.

    4. Uhh, a few major lies in this story. First of all NO Trump votes were thrown out in PA. The additional votes for Clinton were simply Absentee and provisional ballots which were NOT COUNTED on election day because there were not enough of them to even come close to changing the results. They are now done and the FINAL total for PA has Trump in the lead by 49000 votes and not 46000 as stated here.

Plus an official in PA has stated there are NOT enough uncounted votes left to change the outcome and besides the few left to count are in the out lying suburbs which always go heavily Republican.

Carrier Got A Taxpayer Handout Because Trump Holds Investment In Their Parent Company

The Carrier deal has turned into a prime example of the sorts of conflicts of interest that will be coming to the White House with Donald Trump. It turns out the president-elect gave Carrier $7 million in taxpayer money and he owns stock in Carrier's parent company, United Technologies.

But hasn't a WI judge said no hand count can be done in WI? And Stein is suing? Any new word on this? With the machines being a problem, there needs to be a better way to count. A recount using the same exact means won't cut it.

And I really want that done in all the states they're talking about PLUS Florida. What happened to FLA? There was very interesting polling done about GOP voters going for Hillary. They need to pursue Florida!!

Last I checked, MI was for Trump by .2, WI was by .8. PA was by 1.1, and FLA was by 1.2. Why not go after all four states? Yes, the electoral votes in the other three states are all that would be needed, but go recount FLA anyway.

Romney's niece, the head of the state republican,is pushing to stop it with the "wasted tax dollars" excuse.

What are they so afraid of? I think we know.

Nobody waste tax dollars like republicans, this should be payback for all the Hillary investigations.

      Delete
    2. There is no waste of tax dollars. Stein is paying for it.

A believe the judge said that each precinct can decide how they are going to do their recounts. So no consistency there. Or accuracy if you ask me.

I don't think Stein is getting her money's worth.

Michigan is going to charge her $5 million to recount. If the Deplorables manage to block it, they better give her her money back.

Stein is making them all look like fools and that there is something to hide. So much for our fair and honest elections.

This is just making the election look more and more tainted.

Donald Trump Is Pretending Like He Isn’t Inheriting A Booming Obama Economy

The Obama economy’s success can’t be ignored. 178,000 jobs were created in November. Unemployment has fallen to 4.6%, and as The Atlantic pointed out, “When Barack Obama took office, the unemployment rate was passing 8 percent on its way to 10 percent. But U.S. unemployment has now been at 5 percent or below every month for a full year.”

Trump’s advisers can babble about labor participation rates and fake recoveries, but the reality is that the policies that Republicans are proposing are wrong for the economy at this time, and they will trigger a “Trump recession.” It is not a matter of if Trump’s policies will slow the economy down, but of when the recession will hit.

Trump is pretending like he is inheriting a bad economy so that he can blame Obama when his policies send the country into recession. The truth is that Trump is about to pull a George W. Bush and turn a good economy bad.

Republicans are trying to hide it, but it is President Obama who has made America great again. Donald Trump and the GOP are about to create a mess that it will be up to the next Democratic president to clean up.
