Donald Trump summed up in one photo.

This picture was taken in Mumbai, where Trump was advertising the building of yet another gaudy edifice with his name attached in giant letters for all of the lesser people to admire.

The picture started to circulate early last month and in response a number of folks did not believe it to be real.

However Snopes was contacted by the photographer who confirmed its authenticity.

Shoving his immense wealth in the faces of those who are barely surviving each day.

Yeah, that's our president elect alright.

    LASTING ACQUAINTANCE

Sergei Millian, president of the Russian-American Chamber of Commerce, told the Russian news agency RIA Novosti in April that he developed a lasting acquaintance with Trump while organizing the developer’s trip to Russia for the Millionaire Fair in 2007.

"That was when Trump invited me, as the head of the Russian American Chamber of Commerce, to the horse races at the Gulfstream racetrack in Miami,” Millian said.

“Then later we met in his office in New York."
Millian said he and Trump signed a contract to develop real estate projects in Russia and former Soviet states.

Hey this Russian clown show did not just hack DNC.....they hacked all over this country. This affected ordinary citizens. They hacked into cities, counties, states, and federal systems. And Americans demand charges filed against those involved in America and abroad.
Whether usa citizen or not. Espionage and Treason. The Loyal Act.

WAIT ONE MINUTE. TRUMP SCREWED AMERICAN CONTRACTORS AND BUSINESSES OUT OF MONEY BY FILING BANKRUPTCIES IN AMERICA

BUT RIGHT AFTER WRAPPING UP HIS BANKRUPTCIES IN AMERICA, TRUMP WANTED TO INVEST IN RUSSIA?

I GUESS AT THAT TIME TRUMP WASN'T INTERESTED IN
    "MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN"?

    USA Today:
In 1996, while wrapping up a series of bankruptcies in New York, Trump talked of building a replica of his Trump Tower in Moscow. He also traveled to Moscow to discuss renovating the Moskva and Rossiya hotels, according to Bloomberg News.

That must have been when it became obvious what a "useful idiot" he would be for Vlad Putin. I doubt that the Russians had ever met a dumber American than the Donald Jackass Trump.

20+ yrs of internet service in America without security and infrastructure. Who are the security corporations? Defunding infrastructure by congress? Was that intended to weaken our country? How about that snowden and putin arrangement?

I am an American and go to Mumbai for excellent health services. Indians may differ economically but my experience is that they have a serene moral coil. Further, you cannot judge the Indian culture by American standards.

While I do not like trump, it is odious to exploit a different culture by aligning it with American cultural beliefs about poverty. To take away the dignity of a child to make a smug point is trump-like.

People sleeping among garbage in the streets is just a "different culture"?

I think poverty is poverty; the shame of the world.

First. What we equate as poverty is not equitable around the world. Visit some Alaskan Native Villages. Alaskan Natives are not poor but their houses do not reflect what we think of as prosperous. Talk to any fat middle age tourist visiting Ft. Yukon and all you will hear is patronising language.

      Second. Understand the caste system.

Third. Food and education, health is freely available.

A major weakness and arrogance of Americans is that we choose to see things through our own cultural beliefs.

I think the point the original commenter is trying to make is that if you've ever been to Mumbai, or any of the large Indian cities then you'd be hard pressed to find a location for a billboard that would not be adjacent to some sign of homelessness or extreme poverty, which is very much the norm for large percentages of their population.

This is their way of life, they often cannot rise above it but this is how they live and they often live to old age, sleeping on the street and begging food, and while it is a juxtaposition between their lives and the Trump ad, this sort of irony is present all over the country.

    7. Exactly how dignified are those children sleeping in that squalor?

Is it more dignified to turn a blind eye?

Yes, 12:13, we know what life is like in Mumbai and similar places. High contrasts between two different kinds of lives exist all over, both overseas and here, although it's immediately seen when in third-world countries. Trump's brand's presence in India, exemplified by that poster, as he sought to become president and then was elected president and will be president, is a grotesquerie that cannot be ignored.

And that serene moral coil is seen in all the raping and disfiguring of women there. It's so easy to praise the religions of India and paint all its people as peaceful and loving. But actions accepted there are despicable. Things that happen in much of the Arab Mideast and that we find unacceptable are done there, too. Stoning. Acid thrown in the face. Public raping, often ordered by the village leaders. And so on. No matter what, at least here in the US I know that it is very unlikely that my being female is going to result in one of these crimes (rape happens, but not like it does in India as condoned by people who should be protecting citizens). Please don't try telling us how perfect India is. If you love it there so much, and if the health care is so much better there (but chances are you’re just doing what many do to get cheaper, not better, care) then by all means move there. And if you’re female and anything happens to you, we won’t want to hear about it.

    Divestiture?
“legal documents are being crafted which take me completely out of business operations.” Trump also said he would be leaving his “great business in total.”

in TOTAL? that MEANS NO CHANGE.. double dribble talk..

    1. No if you read the article Snopes originally thought this was a fake.

However later the photographer sent them the original, along with a number of others he took at the same time, and they were convinced it was authentic.

It sounded to me as if HE was the one who contacted THEM. Not that it really matters.

If you ever left the safety of your little Alaskan town and actually traveled and experienced the world firsthand, instead of imagining it all in your head, you would find out it is damn near impossible to not capture poverty alongside commerce in a place such as Mumbai. Much of the world for that matter.

Of course if you did travel to Mumbai, you would spend your nights in the comforts of a secure hotel, and leave on a big jumbo jet with a meal and a movie.

You missed the point entirely, asswipe. We are all well aware of what happens in the rest of the world. You're going around on this thread acting as if you're oh-so-special for having some amount of experience re India. Life is hard everywhere and many of us on this site have traveled to very poor regions of the world, have lived there, have married into a family with such an upbringing, teach students whose families are from India and countries like it, and have friends from India and elsewhere around the world. Get the hell over yourself.

G's comment was about the fucking new president of the US and what he stands for and how hideous he is as he continues to erect monuments to himself all over the world. And we are all aware of his and Ivanka's meetings last month with Indian officials who are highly invested in Ivanka's own line and are now involved in Trump's moves to build there. There are many conflicts of interest involving this family. And many grotesque gestures when it comes to anything Trump and the callousness with which he exists within the world of the haves and have nots, both here in the States and abroad.

Photojournalism is clearly beyond your appreciation, so you're better off not commenting on others' comments on it.

Whaaa whaaa whaaa 1:21, this isn't photo journalism. It is more akin to photo exploitation-ism.

Maybe the rest of the world, including people like Trump, shouldn't invest anything in India at all. Apparently job creators are bad in 3rd world countries according to you.

BTW how are all those Indian made chips and electronics serving you in your computer or phone that you are commenting with? Are Apple and Texas Instruments just as evil as Trump in India, dumbass?

Disgusting. What a POS he is. There was another contrast type of pic at his NY's Eve fest. He was up on stage surrounded by gold light and opulence and in the presence of millionaires and pry a couple other billionaires, when he started talking about undoing Obama's achievements and the ACA and basically all protective regulations. To see this rich bastard up there saying what he was--it made me sick. I've never detested anyone so much as Trump.
