Is Donald Trump afraid to fall down and go boom?

Courtesy of the Daily Mail:

The pictures went around the world as a sign of the ‘extra-special relationship’ between Theresa May and Donald Trump – shots of the pair holding hands at the White House.

But yesterday a much less tender explanation emerged for the encounter – that he was clinging on to Mrs May for support because he has a morbid fear of stairs and slopes.

As Mrs May continued to bask in the success of her visit to the White House, a senior source suggested that the President suffers from a condition known technically as bathmophobia.

The source said: ‘He hates heights where you can see the ground or sharp inclines even more than germs. He particularly dislikes staircases and his biggest nightmare of all is a dirty stair rail.

They added that he did not have a problem at Trump Tower because ‘he is always in that gold elevator’. But even that is not without its risks for the tycoon: he reportedly will not press a ground-floor lift button because it is the most frequently touched and therefore riddled with germs.

As I stated earlier I am more prone to believe things leaked about this president far more than anything that they officially say to the press.

However watch this video at the 8 sec mark and watch as Trump seems to hesitate or stumble, grab May's hand, and then in two seconds hastily release it again.

That does lend some support to this theory.

There was apparently another source who stated that they had not noticed Trump having any difficulty with stairs, but used as proof the fact that it was not listed on his medical report put out by that crazy ass doctor of his.

However if this is true, it WOULD help to explain this:

Let's face it the guy is such a psychological mess would this REALLY be too crazy to consider true?

The ACLU has received more donations in the past two days than in the past five years

Trump’s Muslim ban backfires as Americans pour money into ACLU to fight it

The record smashing flurry of donations to the American Civil Liberties Union, along with other groups such as Planned Parenthood which are trying to help Americans who are being hit the hardest by Donald Trump’s devastating policies in various ways, point to just how strongly mainstream Americans intend to fight back against Trump. There will surely be more legal battles to come, so those who want to donate to the ACLU can do so on the official ACLU website.

Google launches fund that could donate $4M to ACLU, others

      The Associated Press

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) Google has created a crisis fund that could raise up to $4 million for four immigrant rights organizations.

Google has confirmed a USA Today report that it is funding an initial $2 million for the fund that can be matched with up to $2 million in donations from employees. The money will go toward the American Civil Liberties Union, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, the International Rescue Committee and the U.N. Human Rights Commission.
Company executives are also donating separately to the effort.

Google says in a statement that it's concerned about the impact President Donald Trump's order to temporarily suspend immigration from seven Muslim majority nations will have on the company's employees and their families

After just two weeks on the job, Donald Trump will take a vacation to Florida

Well that didn’t take long. Donald Trump has been on the job just ten days and already he’s managed to alienate the majority of the country and prompted millions of American to take to the streets in protest against him. He has the lowest approval rating by far of any new president in U.S. history, and he’s currently at war with the other two branches of the government. So what’s he going to do next? Well, in another few days he’s heading out of town on vacation.

Nor is there any reason to expect Trump will do any real work while he’s on his Florida vacation. It appears White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, who was recently added to the National Security Council in yet another unprecedented move, is now essentially running the White House. Many expected vice president Mike Pence to do the bulk of the work, particularly when it came to coordinating with Congress. But Pence appears to be shut out of the power structure, and based on its unilateral Muslim ban, the Trump administration doesn’t appear to have any interest in coordinating with Congress anyway.

OT? POKE POKE POKE>"Many observers have noted that Trump has a difficult time expressing himself and speaking in complete sentences. A linguistic analysis by Politico found that Trump speaks at a fourth-grade level. A study by researchers at Carnegie-Mellon University compared last year’s Republican and Democratic presidential candidates in terms of their vocabulary and grammar. Trump scored at a fifth-grade level, the lowest of all the candidates."It would hardly be surprising if these observations infuriated the vain and insecure Trump. Trump’s persistent insults directed toward anyone who disagrees with him also suggest his deep insecurity."“LOSERS.” It turns out that this is one of Trump’s favorite words."
"Only someone who secretly doubts his own intelligence would feel compelled to make these kinds of public statements."Many observers have noted Trump’s sociopathic, thin-skinned, demagogic, authoritarian, impulsive and vindictive personality. Although Trump has the self-awareness of an adolescent, it is obvious to many others that his compulsion to constantly boast “I’m smart” and to deride others as “losers” is rooted in his profound sense of insecurity."

Homeland Security leaks embarrassing details about Donald Trump in retaliation for Muslim ban

This story from the New York Times reveals that DHS, despite being tasked with carrying out the Muslim ban, was left completely out of the loop in terms of its wording and signing. In fact when General Kelly got word that the executive order was in the process of happening, he tried calling into the White House for clarification on what was going on. But while on the phone, he was informed that Trump was already on television, signing the order.

    Not My President

This predictably led to Homeland Security being unsure of how to interpret Trump’s executive order, which in turn left its subsidiary, the Border Patrol, unsure of what it was supposed to be enforcing. The poorly crafted order, which apparently wasn’t run by anyone with any understanding of constitutional law, lasted just a few hours before four different federal judges issued immediate stays against it.

How Trump’s Rush to Enact an Immigration Ban Unleashed Global Chaos

...Stephen K. Bannon, the chief White House strategist, oversaw the writing of the order, which was done by a small White House team, including Stephen Miller, Mr. Trump’s policy chief. But it was first imagined more than a year ago, when Mr. Trump, then a candidate for the Republican nomination, reacted to terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, Calif., by calling for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.”

In the months that followed, Mr. Trump’s campaign tried to back away from the proposal, which was seen by Democrats as over-the-top campaign rhetoric that would never be reality. Mr. Trump offered few details as the campaign progressed, and as president-elect he promised to protect the country from terrorists with only vague promises of “extreme vetting.”

But Mr. Bannon, who believes in highly restrictive immigration policies and saw barring refugees as vital to shoring up Mr. Trump’s political base, was determined to make it happen. He and a small group made up of the president’s closest advisers began working on the order during the transition so that Mr. Trump could sign it soon after taking office.

Bannon Is Given Security Role Usually Held for Generals

...But in terms of real influence, Mr. Bannon looms above almost everyone except the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, in the Trumpian pecking order, according to interviews with two dozen Trump insiders and current and former national security officials. The move involving Mr. Bannon, as well as the boost in status to the White House homeland security adviser, Thomas P. Bossert, and Mr. Trump’s relationships with cabinet appointees like Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, have essentially layered over Mr. Flynn.

Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, said Mr. Bannon — whose Breitbart website was a magnet for white nationalists, antiglobalists and conspiracy theorists — always planned to participate in national security. Mr. Flynn welcomed his participation, Mr. Spicer said, but the general “led the reorganization of the N.S.C.” in order to streamline an antiquated and bloated bureaucracy.

Former White House officials in both parties were shocked by the move.

“The last place you want to put somebody who worries about politics is in a room where they’re talking about national security,” said Leon E. Panetta, a former White House chief of staff, defense secretary and C.I.A. director in two Democratic administrations.

“I’ve never seen that happen, and it shouldn’t happen. It’s not like he has broad experience in foreign policy and national security issues. He doesn’t. His primary role is to control or guide the president’s conscience based on his campaign promises. That’s not what the National Security Council is supposed to be about.”

As Democrats Take to the Streets, Lawmakers Rush to Keep Up

...The swelling anger over Mr. Trump’s week-old administration is fueling a surge of spontaneous activism that some Democrats say they have not seen since the Vietnam War. The growing and seemingly organic energy offers Democrats a prime opportunity to ride a backlash to electoral success this year and next, the same way Republicans capitalized on Tea Party rage against President Barack Obama in 2010.

But the fury is also spurring liberal voters to demand uncompromising confrontation and resistance from their elected officials to a president they believe poses an existential threat to the country. The Democrats’ increasingly assertive base wants the party’s leaders to eschew any cooperation with Mr. Trump: They are already expressing rage at some senators for confirming the president’s cabinet appointees, and for their willingness to allow a vote on his pick for a vacant Supreme Court seat.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/29/us/politics/donald-trump-democrats-backlash-executive-orders.html

Senate Democrats have the power to stop Trump. All they have to do is use it.

...Senate Democrats have a powerful tool at their disposal, if they choose to use it, for resisting a president who has no mandate and cannot claim to embody the popular will. That tool lies in the simple but fitting act of withholding consent. An organized effort to do so on the Senate floor can bring the body to its knees and block or severely slow down the agenda of a president who does not represent the majority of Americans.

The procedure for withholding consent is straightforward, but deploying it is tricky. For the Senate to move in a timely fashion on any order of business, it must obtain unanimous support from its members. But if a single senator objects to a consent agreement, McConnell, now majority leader, will be forced to resort to time-consuming procedural steps through the cloture process, which takes four days to confirm nominees and seven days to advance any piece of legislation — and that’s without amendment votes, each of which can be subjected to a several-day cloture process as well.

McConnell can ask for consent at any time, and if no objection is heard, the Senate assumes that consent is granted. So the 48 senators in the Democratic caucus must work together — along with any Republicans who aren’t afraid of being targeted by an angry tweet — to ensure that there is always a senator on the floor to withhold consent.

"“The grassroots progressive base ― and more broadly, the public, which voted decisively against Trump ― is demanding clear, principled, and total opposition to the Trump Administration’s extreme and unprecedented agenda. Mayors, Attorneys General and Governors are showing what real leadership looks like right now” said Ilya Sheyman, executive director of MoveOn.org Political Action.

“Senate Democrats should pay attention,” he added. “Doing business as usual or treating Trump as your run-of-the-mill threat will not do.”"

And electing a same old good ol' boy political insider is the LAST thing the DNC should do. Which is why they'll do it. Ignore their own people because they think they know better.

That's what lost them the election.

Feds Blow Off Judge and Congressmen to Enforce Trump’s Orders at Dulles

Congressmen and lawyers—attempting to uphold a federal court order—were strong-armed by officials at Dulles Airport.

Sunday was a day of strength for the Trump administration at Washington Dulles International Airport. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)––the federal agency tasked with keeping people from entering the U.S. illegally––successfully deflected a federal judge’s court order and stonewalled three members of congress, in a display of executive branch muscle.

CNBC announced Monday that the Donald Trump administration will be signing an executive order that mandates for every regulation passed, two things must arbitrarily be deregulated.

The order was part of a campaign promise that Trump reiterated last week when he told business leaders, “we think we can cut regulations by 75 percent, maybe more.”

An example of regulations that are currently on the books for the U.S. include a ban on child labor, the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, the Endangered Species Act, The Americans with Disabilities Act, and there are workplace regulations that require things like fire exits, heat, bathrooms etc.

Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) called the order “irrational,” “not thought out,” and “he probably hasn’t had any consultation with anybody in his administration, much less members of Congress.”

    4. They should NOT be referred to as "regulations" but instead be referred as "protections" since that is what they are. They protect citizens from tainted meat, water, air, and other chemicals and poisons that can poison our environment and affect our lives and well-being.

They PROTECT us from those that are so greedy they don't give a shit what damage they do. In fact, the current regulations don't go far enough since many companies choose to simply violate them and then if they get caught, all they have to do is pay a little slap on the wrist fine. Now they don't even want to have to pay a fine. They want CARTE BLANCHE.

This man has to be impeached and soon.

Actor and producer Kal Penn spent the weekend turning the “negativity” of Donald Trump’s immigration ban into what he calls “a positive.” Penn raised over $500,000 for Syrian refugees using a crowdfunding page that urges donations “in the name of the dude who said I don’t belong in America.”

During an interview Monday with CNN’s “New Day,” Penn explained that during a time when people often act out in a mean-spirited way online, he wanted to give them something to do that was inspiring.

It would look manlier and more "human" to walk down the stairs with some swagger - going down the escalator passively just makes him look old. Bathmophobia is a no one to me - and I thought my mother's side of the family has every phobia under the sun. Maybe they just haven't heard of this one yet.
And if a "dirty stair rail" were only my biggest problem that I have to regularly deal with! I will have to write him and tell him that stair rails are optional. And Ii will suggest that he buy some tiny latex gloves to wear throughout the day so he can feel more at ease - that wouldn't look at all creepy!
And you're right, he does awkwardly grab Theresa's hand, and then he slaps it a few times as if to say, "Thanks buddy!" Now we all know what a gentleman he isn't, so there might be something to this odd phobia - he's not a warm person, nor is he polite, so why else would he grab a British woman's hand (the Brits aren't exactly known for they public - or private - displays of affection, either...) I'm sure she thought him an odd duck - hah, Donald Duck!! She's not too far behind him.. The UK has signed a petition begging her to cancel his upcoming visit there, but she refuses, and insists on our "special relationship." Because they spelled her name wrong like that of the English porn star instead of the new PM, I would think she would stop using terms like "special relationship" when it comes to the US, and to DJT specifically. Hell, I would have thought she would have come wearing a medieval suit of armor after the pussy grabber was exposed.

Standing in solidarity with the refugees and immigrants impacted by Trump’s “Muslim Ban,” Starbucks yelled a loud “screw you” at Donald Trump with this announcement:

Starbucks CEO says coffee chain will hire 10,000 refugees over 5 years in response to Trump’s immigration order. https://t.co/SOCTR55dWE pic.twitter.com/p2yZVA3jbT

    — ABC News (@ABC) January 30, 2017

    ABC News reports:

‘Howard Schultz, the coffee retailer’s chairman and CEO, said in a letter to employees Sunday that the hiring would apply to stores worldwide and the effort would start in the United States where the focus would be on hiring immigrants “who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel.”‘

While brown people of all varieties have been under attack in America for centuries, Schultz acknowledged that the recent Muslim ban has caused heightened levels of alarm and fear. He vowed to be more intentional about the level of support his employees are provided. Per ABC News:

‘Schultz added that Starbucks would aim to communicate with workers more frequently, saying Sunday, “I am hearing the alarm you all are sounding that the civility and human rights we have all taken for granted for so long are under attack.”‘

As millions of Americans search for answers and work to organize around ways to resist Trump, Starbucks and other companies remind us that the way money is spent remains the best way to send strong messages.

As some of the world’s most powerful and fiscally solid companies show their support of the mounting movement against Trump, the message for the common citizen looking for ways to protest Trump may be to figure out how to resist Trump via economic means. One way to do this is to support the companies bold enough to openly dissent against Donald Trump. Simply put: If you’ve never supported Starbucks, now is the time to do so.

The video that initiated the “Trump cup” movement that helped make Starbucks money, is below:

    1. Everyone needs to follow George Lakoff. Seriously.

      https://georgelakoff.com/2017/01/28/the-publics-viewpoint-regulations-are-protections/

"The term “regulation” is framed from the viewpoint of corporations and other businesses. From their viewpoint, “regulations” are limitations on their freedom to do whatever they want no matter who it harms. But from the public’s viewpoint, a regulation is a protection against harm done by unscrupulous corporations seeking to maximize profit at the cost of harm to the public.

Imagine our minority President saying out loud that he intends to get rid of 75% of public protections. Imagine the press reporting that. Imagine the NY Times, or even the USA Today headline: Trump to Eliminate 75% of Public Protections. Imagine the media listing, day after day, the protections to be eliminated and the harms to be faced by the public.

Congressional Republicans called for immediate elimination of regulations from the Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Security and Exchange Commission. What would be eliminated? Protections against cancerous poisons in foods, drugs untested for their safety, unsafe drinking water, air pollutants that get into your lungs and can’t get out, fraudulent stack sales, unscrupulous mortgages. That is what our president and Congress are proposing, hiding it behind the word “regulations.” Words have meanings with real effects.

Imagine reporters finding out and reporting all over America exactly what protections would be removed. Imagine Republican officials, and media in their districts (including social media) swamped with calls, letters, emails, and tweets from voters protesting the removal of such protections, day after day. That is only one example of shifting the frame — the word and the meaning of the word — to a public viewpoint."

I had a boss who was such a germaphobe that he wouldn't touch any part of public staircases with his hands. And phobia of heights is real.

But the point is, he and his opponent should not have been the two we had to choose from as their problems are pretty substantial and needed intervention a long time ago.

And how, 9:04, is this a false equivalence? She opened with describing her boss who had strong phobias, attempting to prove that phobias exist. She follows that with a statement I think most of us can agree with - namely that the two of them should not have been elected. So?

And a little politeness never hurts. Try it some time.

They said he HATED shaking hands. His germ-o-phobia has been well know for many years. Yeah, he slapped her hand away.

Much as I don't like Trump, I have my doubts above the staircase fear. He goes up and down the airplane steps a lot. However, he's 70 years old and his knees/hips are probably not so great. I've noticed he goes down the airplane steps rather slowly. In ridiculous Trump fashion, he once tweeted a video of Obama bounding down the airplane steps and said it was unpresidential.
