SNL is killing it. Killing it I say!

I swear that Melissa McCarthy is a shoo-in for an Emmy nomination.

Her Sean Spicer is one of the funnest things I have ever seen.

Don't get me wrong the rest of the show was damn good as well.

There was a segment with Alec Baldwin appearing as Trump in People's Court.

And a great Weekend Update segment with Kate McKinnon as Elizabeth Warren.

But then there was this bit with Kate once again reprising her role as Kellyanne Conway stalking CNN's Jake Tapper after he refused to allow her on his show because....well because she lies.

Okay that was both creepy as hell and amazing.

We already reported that SNL is getting the highest ratings in 22 years, and it is pretty clear they deserve it.

Like I said, they are KILLING it!

Your daily WTF! (Stephen Miller was a staffer for Michele Bachmann and other nutbags like Shadegg and Sessions and Brat)

    https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/02/12/us/politics/national-security-council-turmoil.html

"A number of staff members who did not want to work for Mr. Trump have returned to their regular agencies, leaving a larger-than-usual hole in the experienced bureaucracy. Many of those who remain, who see themselves as apolitical civil servants, have been disturbed by displays of overt partisanship. At an all-hands meeting about two weeks into the new administration, Ms. McFarland told the group it needed to “make America great again,” numerous staff members who were there said.

New Trump appointees are carrying coffee mugs with that Trump campaign slogan into meetings with foreign counterparts, one staff member said. And Mr. Miller was once allowed to act as chairman of a weekend meeting of the national security deputies, stunning career officials."

Let's hope he does not deplete the Treasury first. Having THREE residences, with full security is expensive. WH, tRump Tower in NY, and Mar-A-Largo. He flies from DC to Florida, while the nude model flies from NY. Both with full Security details. What a HELL of a mess this clown has turned out to be, even worse than expected. The ONLY good thing so far has been the ratings for SNL.

Man, that Sessions was great. He is such an evil elf and Kate McK was great. True, I couldn't understand a few of the first words she said, but I watched again and got it. I also loved that they had two female Trumps in the later skit. Trump couldn't handle a female Spicer, so of course Melissa McC came back and there was the female Trump skit to make that sick bastard Trump freak out even more. I hope that at some point there's a Kushner and he's played by a woman. He'd be easy for a female to play--he's so effeminate, although of course Trump hasn't let himself acknowledge it yet. Nothing freaks Trump out more than males who aren't cavemen.

    1. Not only two female Trumps but one of them was BLACK.

Kate has Kellyanne and Sessions, McCarthy has Spicer (although I'm reading he won't last much longer) and Rosie is on deck to do Bannon.

I wonder if Ellen would be up for Mike Pence? She seems so apolitical but I wonder if she would make an exception for Mike Pence due to his anti-gay stance.

I think they need to start bringing in guys to play Ivanka and Melania.

And the gov asked Trump for emergency funds and I bet Trump will only grant them conditionally.

Thankfully we aren't supposed to get more rain until Wed. and that storm, so far, looks much smaller than what we've been getting. I live right in SF and we got far less rain than other places, but it was still so much and so continuous that my window frames started dripping rain.

    3. Anonymous8:40 PM

Gov. Brown asked for FEMA funds Friday b/c of the dam, and as far as I can tell he's not been answered. He also asked the last week of January because of the problems caused by severe rains--I don't know what became of that. People who don't live out here think rain is no big deal. But their snowstorms and tornadoes are things we here on the west coats are supposed to always feel so bad about that we too are expected to want to watch them covered on the news 24/7, every single time there's an event. I have sympathy sure, but it can be frustrating when people in other parts of the country just shrug at CA and surrounding states. And the GOPs in govt never take things here seriously. There could be a tornado that lifts a single structure in Kansas or Oklahoma and it will matter more to the GOP than a CA dam breaking in the middle of the rainy season after days and days of insane amounts of rain.

      Delete
    4. How is it going to look if Trump denies FEMA funds and refuses to declare it a disaster because it's California?

How will it look if the dam collapses or anyone dies and instead of releasing funds he tweets some dumbass insult about California or Democrats?

At what point is his thumbing his nose at the Constitution an impeachable offense. He took an oath to uphold and defend it, not violate it.

Here's a link to a local paper with notes and pics about Trump's departure from Palm Beach. As they say, he tweeted about huge crowds gathered there to support him and he said the fake news didn't report it. He was in the friggin' car and just had to tweet about the people on the side of the road. Eye roll. And yeah, there were some supporters, but there were more protesters. But WTF is it about this claim that no one's reporting the truth? He was in a car on the road on the way to the airport. What was the big story there? Other than for the local paper, what the hell was the big story?!

I feel so sorry for both the Japanese prime minister and his wife. The behavior of the Trumps - from Donald's death grip on Abe's hand at the White House oval office photo shoot to his introduction at their joint press conference (welcoming Abe to the 'very famous White House") to Melania's virginal long sleeved and floor length white shroud that she wore to a local tourist spot (museum or indoor botanical garden) with Mrs. Abe, to Trump telling the prime minister that he was a guest in Florida implying that he and his wife would not have to pay (we, the people will), and now the cell phone call during dinner - was absolutely appalling. Did Melania have to sport her giant sunglasses as she came out the door from the tourist spot with Mrs. Abe? Mrs. Abe smiled graciously at the reporters and onlookers assembled there but Melania pretended to ignore them while trying to look like a high fashion mode. I'm sure the Abes will have stories to tell back in Tokyo.

After angry demonstration in Utah, Chaffetz returns to more wrath in D.C.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz is not yielding.

When he gavels in his House committee Monday night, the Utah Republican will begin the rare act of dismantling a D.C. law — one that allows for assisted suicide — despite the wrath of District residents who are planning a massive “Hands off D.C.” rally and accuse him of bullying the city to pander to his conservative base.

Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, faced another horde of protesters at a town hall in his Utah district last week, though they were irate because of his inaction.

Why, they demanded to know, was he not investigating President Trump’s financial dealings? In both cases, Chaffetz said, he would not be swayed by angry crowds, phone calls, emails or tweets.

“It doesn’t faze me,” the 49-year-old congressman said at an In-N-Out Burger in his Utah district last Thursday, where he devoured a cheeseburger and french fries moments after his security detail whisked him away from the town hall meeting filled with protesters chanting “Do your job!”

“It’s a very, very small minority,” he said between sips of a chocolate shake. “It’s a very vocal, very frustrated, scorched-earth mentality that’s not representative of the average person, certainly not in Utah. It might be in San Francisco or Seattle but not here. Not in middle America.”

Russia meltdown: Michael Flynn suggests he and Donald Trump may be gone within a year

Based on the events of the past few days, National Security Advisor Michael Flynn has now risen to the top of the growing list of embattled Donald Trump advisors who appear to have one foot out the door. The U.S. intelligence community has caught him colluding with Russia before and after Election Day, meaning that he’s going down for the Trump-Russia scandal; it’s just a matter of who else goes with him. And based on a leaked quote from Flynn, he doesn’t appear to think that the Trump administration is long for this world.

In a new expose from the New York Times which highlights the sheer magnitude of the dysfunction within the Donald Trump White House, it’s revealed that numerous National Security Council employees have already transferred out to other agencies in order to get away from Trump. Staff members at the White House are now meeting at local bars in the middle of the night to plot how to protect themselves from Trump’s paranoia. And some of Trump’s people have resorted to using encrypted communications, in an attempt to shield their conversations with each other from Trump’s White House loyalists. But the strangest revelation comes directly from Michael Flynn himself.

    https://www.palmerreport.com/opinion/russia-meltdown-michael-flynn-says-hes-not-sure-donald-trump-administration-will-last-year/1511/

Turmoil at the National Security Council, From the Top Down

These are chaotic and anxious days inside the National Security Council, the traditional center of management for a president’s dealings with an uncertain world.

Three weeks into the Trump administration, council staff members get up in the morning, read President Trump’s Twitter posts and struggle to make policy to fit them. Most are kept in the dark about what Mr. Trump tells foreign leaders in his phone calls. Some staff members have turned to encrypted communications to talk with their colleagues, after hearing that Mr. Trump’s top advisers are considering an “insider threat” program that could result in monitoring cellphones and emails for leaks.

The national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, has hunkered down since investigators began looking into what, exactly, he told the Russian ambassador to the United States about the lifting of sanctions imposed in the last days of the Obama administration, and whether he misled Vice President Mike Pence about those conversations. His survival in the job may hang in the balance.

Although Mr. Trump suggested to reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday that he was unaware of the latest questions swirling around Mr. Flynn’s dealings with Russia, aides said over the weekend in Florida — where Mr. Flynn accompanied the president and Japan’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe — that Mr. Trump was closely monitoring the reaction to Mr. Flynn’s conversations. There are transcripts of a conversation in at least one phone call, recorded by American intelligence agencies that wiretap foreign diplomats, which may determine Mr. Flynn’s future.

Blame the Democrats for being in the minority and failing to stop them from destroying the country? There is absolutely no way they can lay the blame to any of the shit that is going to hit the fan at the feet of Democrats. No way at all. They own it ALL.

  23. SNL was positively awesome. Just when I think they can't possibly top themselves, they do.

I never used to watch it. Not since their first few years. As the cast changes took place I just lost interest.

However ever since the election I have watched it every week. I actually started before the election and the three "debates" clinched the deal. Mostly because of Alec Baldwin's Trump but now for all of the rest.

Trump in People's Court was hilarious and brilliant, especially since "Spicey" brought it up.

Kellyanus was perfect in Fatal Attraction and then as some sort of demon with three lives left.

But it was the cold open that really took the prize.

Yes, Kate's Jeff Sessions was fun but Melissa McCarthy stole the entire night. She deserves an Emmy for that and Alec for his portrayal of Trump.

And boy, wouldn't both of those awards just piss Trump off.

  24. Anonymous3:44 AM

The SNL writers and performers are brilliant. How they find so much laughter in all that has happened is way beyond me! But I applaud them for making me laugh when I think I should be curled up in a corner sobbing. It's much healthier to laugh. And, right now, we know that SNL is driving Trump and his friends in the White House just crazy.
