Bicyclist who flipped Donald Trump's motorcade the bird has been fired.

Remember this woman?

Remember how much we all admired her?

Yeah, well she lost her damn job:

The woman’s name is Juli Briskman. Her employer, government contractor Akima LLC, wasn’t so happy about the photo. They fired her over it.

In a Saturday interview with HuffPost, Briskman, a 50-year-old mother of two, said she was stunned that someone had taken a picture of her giving Trump the middle finger.

As the photo circulated online, Briskman decided to tell Akima’s HR department what was happening when she went to work on Monday. By Tuesday, her bosses called her into a meeting and said she had violated the company’s social media policy by using the photo as her profile picture on Twitter and Facebook.

“They said, ‘We’re separating from you,‘” said Briskman. “Basically, you cannot have ‘lewd’ or ‘obscene’ things in your social media. So they were calling flipping him off ‘obscene.’”

Briskman, who worked in marketing and communications at Akima for just over six months, said she emphasized to the executives that she wasn’t on the job when the incident happened and that her social media pages don’t mention her employer. They told her that because Akima was a government contractor, the photo could hurt their business, she said.

Well that is just fucked up.

Here this woman expressed the emotions felt by the vast majority of the American people in this country, and she gets canned?

Don't you feel that Donald Trump is behind this, cause I certainly do.

Well here's my prediction.

I bet money that there are company executives who are reading about this woman's situation right now, and I bet in the next several days she will have a different job, with better pay, and a more secure future.

After all this is still America isn't it?

If our rights to freely express ourselves and to protest authoritarianism are no longer valid, then Donald Trump and his deplorables truly have won haven't they?

  3. A MALE colleague did worse on his Facebook page, which had Akima’s logo on it. But he just got a reprimand and had to take his (obscene) post down.

    Her they fired.

Now that is absolutely grounds for a lawsuit but she’s smart to just move on. It’s Virginia, after all. I’m sure as a Democrat she will be much more comfortable working at a different company. If she’s smart, in a different state.

But I would council her to avoid PETA. They aren’t who she thinks they are.

Virginia is a right-to-work state. Companies don't even have to give you a reason for separation.

The administrative law Judge will decide the employment outcome for this woman. A right to work state does not automatically and completely protect the employer. She has federal employment rights and this is extraordinary circumstances due to the terrible current political chaos and liar receiving the legal hand gesture to make a right turn or stay in bicycle lane. There is no respect nor honor given to a con artist and liar with his hand out and treason smile.

Sorry, think about it, fantasize about it even, maybe talk about about it but as soon as you do something in public like this and then are identified as the person, and then are connected to your employer - you're done. If any grown up in the world today doesn't think that there could be blowback from something like this they are delusional. I learned this same lesson in high school where I decided to show my displeasure to someone in authority with my middle fingers and was almost immediately reprimanded and for good reason.

I learned not to be a jerk and grew up. I keep my fingers in my pockets. I don't let my adolescent anger control me. I still remember the well-deserved lecture I got from another kid's mother. She was right. Rage tweeting or making obscene gestures doesn't really tell the other side what you feel. It is a way of you releasing your negative feelings. Not being a jerk is different from being a wuss.

"Baldwin has received heavy criticism for his relationship with the aforementioned James Toback, an indie filmmaker accused of sexual misconduct by hundreds of women—including the actresses Rachel McAdams and Selma Blair.
Baldwin has made several films with Toback, including the 2013 HBO documentary-satire Seduced and Abandoned, wherein the two pals jokingly try to secure financing for a bogus film at Cannes. The doc featured not one, but two alleged serial sexual predators. In one scene, Toback and Baldwin sit down and have a friendly chat with Roman Polanski, who stands accused of raping five underage girls between the ages of 10 and 16."“Knowing what we do now, ‘Seduced and Abandoned’s’ ‘boys will be boys’ tone transforms from mildly charming to repulsive. As a viewer it’s deeply uncomfortable to watch Toback confidently saunter into exclusive meeting after exclusive meeting knowing that the director has likely already forced several women to help him get off.”

The Hollywood film community rallied to his defense, circulating a petition with 138 high-profile signatories—including Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, and Harvey Weinstein—that demanded “the immediate release” of the “renown and international artist.”"

I work for a governmental agency. A member of the public called to complain because someone who claims to work at this particular agency was posting rude and racist posts on facebook. I know the guy in questions & I believe that he would do it, he is also sexist. Our admin & HR did nothing. I am all for free speech but not hate speech. I think HR should have at least given the guy a reprimand and asked him to take off his place of work on FB. What really gets my goat, is that he is probably posting all of these racist thing while at his desk on the job. THere has to be a line.

Wasn’t she also tied to Mercer? Didn’t Mercer’s daughter tell Trump to appoint DeVos?

Virginia is a "right to work" state. She was being a little dense posting this action to social media while working for a government contractor. I get it she let her emotions get the best of her and now she's unemployed.

Sometimes our big brains work against us, but a deep breath, a calming moment of reflection allowing us to look at the bigger picture can prevent things like this from happening, but hey, social media dude, look at me I'm cool, I flipped off the POTUS, but oops, I also get paid by the government. She didn't think, period.

She could have been personally satisfied that she flipped off the motorcade, instead she shared, that's what got her fired.

But just like all good liberals she's now a victim, and will never, ever believe she caused this herself.

She did the right thing. Mr Trump understands that hand gesture and freedom to express it. He does it daily to America.
