Conservative website drops firebrand Milo Yiannopoulos after just one column.

Right-wing writer Milo Yiannopoulos has been dropped from his op-ed deal with the Daily Caller after just one column, according to a post on his Facebook page. 

Yiannopoulos wrote on his Facebook page Saturday afternoon that the Daily Caller had "caved to pressure and canceled my weekly column." 

"Sad news: The Daily Caller has caved to pressure and cancelled my weekly column after a day, claiming, falsely, they never planned to run weekly contributions from me," Yiannopoulos wrote Saturday. 

"Where will it end? So: no new MILO column for now. This sort of cowardice is why the Right in America loses and will keep losing the culture wars," he added.

Apparently Yiannopoulos wrote a single column on Saturday that essentially attacked Kevin Spacey and made a number of explosive allegations not backed up by any evidence.

Gee I wonder why he had to go?

Actually the only thing I really wonder is why would anybody hire him expecting a different outcome?

19 Republican Congressmen sign letter attempting to interfere with investigation by Special Counsel.

Nineteen Republican congressmen signed on to a letter sent out Friday requesting congressional hearings to keep special counsel Robert Mueller and his team of lawyers accountable. 

“This team has sweeping authority and an open-ended mission, yet they are allowed to operate largely in secret, selected by and ultimately accountable to only one person: Mr. Mueller himself,” the letter sent to House Judiciary Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte and Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley states. 

Texas Republican Rep. Brian Babin started asking his colleagues to sign the letter in August. The congressmen who signed on include: Iowa Rep. Steve King, Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, California Rep. Duncan Hunter and Virginia Rep. Dave Brat. 

“With numerous reports emerging almost every day on possible conflicts of interest and allegations of political bias, it would be in the interest of both the public and the Special Counsel team to speak to the American people through their elected representatives in Congress,” the letter continues on to say. “Accordingly, we respectfully request that one of broth (Sic. I will assume they meant to type "or both." It is so hard to get good help these days.) of the Judiciary Committees immediately convene a public and open hearing or series of hearings to bring Mr. Mueller and his team out of the shadows and into the public square.”

Steve King? Duncan Hunter? Trent Franks?

Oh yeah, nothing partisan about these folks. 

I am going to imagine that this letter will have little impact, which is good as it is clearly an attempt to undermine or sabotage Mueller's investigation.

Remember, before he was chosen as the Special Counsel the Republicans LOVED Robert Mueller.

This does however indicate that the investigation is cutting close to the bone and that Trump and his cronies are panicking. 

Speaking of the Throwdown at the Hoedown, now the Right is accusing the homeowner of sexually assaulting Bristol Palin.

So it is now the day after audio and pictures of the brawl have been released by the Anchorage Police, and media outlets on the Right have finally decided on their plan of attack in covering it.

Essentially, Bristol's been victimized. Perhaps even sexually.

Take a look at this from the Daily Caller:  

When news trickled out about the Palins being involved in a drunken brawl, I was mildly amused. The narrative was that this band of rich hillbillies was at it again. Then I saw this disturbing quote from Bristol Palin (being questioned about the incident): 

“I walk back up. “Did you push my sister?” And some guy gets up, pushes me down on the grass, drags me across the grass. “You slut, you fucking cunt, you fucking this.” I get back up, he pushes me down on the grass again. And I have my five year old, they took my $300 sunglasses, they took my fucking shoes, and I’m just left here?

“A guy comes out of nowhere and pushes me on the ground, takes me by my feet, in my dress—in my thong dress, in front of everybody—”Come on you cunt, get the fuck out of here, come on you slut, get the fuck out of here.” I don’t know this guy.” 

IF this is true (and we may never know for sure, but she sounds sincere), then Bristol Palin was physically, verbally — and possibly even sexually – assaulted by a man.

The reporter, Matt K. Lewis, then goes on to suggest that Bristol's victimization should be the lead story, and that the media's refusal to recognize that demonstrates bias on their part.

What Lewis fails to recognize, and I think purposefully, is that the key part of his article was "if this is true."

But it's not true, and proven by the testimony of everybody who is NOT a Palin family member.

However that is unimportant as the Right now has their meme and they are going to run with it.

And this Right Scoop article drives that point home: 

CNN host Carol Costello can barely contain her excitement over hearing the new audio of the ‘brawl’ in Alaska that involved Bristol Palin a few weeks back. 

After the audio concluded, Costello said “I think that long beep was my favorite part,” referring to the beep that replaced a long string of expletives from Bristol Palin. 

Costello then quoted Sarah Palin’s Facebook post where she had remarked how proud she was that Palin defended the family, noting that it made her heart soar. Costello ended it by saying smugly “You can thank me later.” 

What’s so disturbing about Costello’s smug excitement over this audio is the actual content of the audio, in which Bristol Palin is incredibly upset as she describes to police how she and her sister were assaulted by someone at the party. I’m not sure how something like that can excite someone so much. Costello clearly has such contempt for the Palins that she apparently gets off on harm coming to the Palins. 

I suspect if these were Barack Obama’s girls in the same situation, Costello would be defending them instead of laughing at them. 

Yeah, you know what? The Obama girls are NEVER going to be in this kind of situation. They are far to well parented for that.

I know that playing the victim is the favorite Palin tradition, but that is simply not going to work in this case.

Those audio tapes reveal the Palin family as the foul mouthed bullies that we all know them to be.

They can try to shape this story any way they want, but in the end there is no escaping the fact that the party was completely drama free until the Palins arrived, and after that at least three fights broke out and every one of them involved at least one member of their family.

"Wait, we needed to hire a fucking plane to get you here?"

This week, The Daily Caller’s Jamie Weinstein published an interview with longtime Tonight Show producer Dave Berg, who has a new book out about his experience working with Jay Leno titled Behind the Curtain: An Insider’s View of Jay Leno’s Tonight Show. Included in the piece are some comments about Sarah Palin that the former Alaska governor is rushing to correct. 

“After the campaign, she had a book to promote, and wanted to do the show, but it was difficult to work out the logistics because she didn’t like to be away from her family for long periods of time,” Berg told Weinstein of Palin. “Finally, the only way we could get her to come to Burbank was to book a charter jet from Anchorage for $35,000. The jet was big enough to accommodate all of her family members.”

We have all heard of the outrageous demands that Palin has demanded in the past so of course this is not at all hard to believe. And it is even easier to believe since we covered it here at IM way back in June. (Scroll to the bottom.)

Of course hearing this infuriated Palin who quickly applied the whip of inspiration to her ghostwriter's back and she quickly pooped out this post: 

Guess the boys at The Daily Caller spent a bit too much time at the frat house and not enough time in their college library. (Or maybe it’s in one of their Jr. High tree forts where their leader gathers the boys to “report” their “conservative” issues.) Their claims about what I supposedly “demanded” of the Tonight Show are, in their frat boy terms, B.S. This is not the first time we’ve had to correct their sloppy “journalism.” Paraphrasing and dramatizing sure doesn’t fit into any fair and balanced image, especially from a little fella loving his title of FOX News Channel host. Maybe those bow ties are a bit too tight, bros. 

In contrast to your erroneous reporting (Hey! Come to think of it, this time it’s merely erroneous; it’s not your usual misogynist slant!), we loved visiting the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I had a blast on the show. Leno’s team was top notch, professional, and funny; and some even brought their families to work that day so they could meet mine. That was neat! Thanks for the memories, Jay! 

I’m looking forward to reading Dave Berg’s great new book “Behind the Curtain: An Insider’s View of Jay Leno’s Tonight Show.” Dave reached out by email to my team to share the following: “I consider Gov. Palin’s booking on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show one of the best gets I ever got. I had worked long and hard to book her, both during and after her vice-presidential campaign. She turned out to be a charming guest, who also did a killer standup, and her ratings won the night by a large margin. You can’t ask for more from a guest.”

Okay well here's the thing, producers like Dave Berg deal with divas ALL of the time.

Just because he sent her a nice e-mail schmoozing her a little, which he probably does to all of the challenging guests, does NOT mean he did not think she was a pushy bitch.

And by the way the website that I sourced way back in June was the Hollywood Reporter.

So is Palin claiming that both the Daily Caller AND the Hollywood Reporter demonstrated poor journalism? Or is it possible that she is just pissed off that somebody let the world know that she is a pretentious celebutard, who is ALWAYS squeezing the very last nickel out of every public appearance.

 Back in August 2013, Young Invincibles, in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services, launched the Healthy Young America Video Contest, an effort to mobilize young people to help educate and inform one another about the Affordable Care Act. Participants submitted their videos, the public weighed in, and a finalist was selected in each of three categories: "You Are Not Invincible," original song performance, and animation. 

Erin McDonald was announced as the overall Grand Prize winner with her video "Forget about the Price Tag" in a Google+ Hangout featuring Kal Penn and White House Health Care policy expert Christen Linke Young on December 2. 

The funny thing is that I did not even know about this until I saw it being mocked by the Daily Caller.

I listened to it and thought it was damn good, and that the young lady has a great voice.

In a attempt to further smear Obamacare Fox News blames them for layoffs at Cleveland Clinic, even after being told that the story is false.

Fox News reported that the Cleveland Clinic was instituting "massive layoffs" due to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, but when asked about the reports, a Clinic spokesperson told Media Matters, "We're not." 

On November 25, The Daily Caller published an article titled, "Top U.S. hospital laying off staff due to Obamacare." On Fox Business' Markets Now, host Connell McShane reported on the "massive layoffs." America's Newsroom host Bill Hemmer claimed that the Cleveland Clinic was going to "shed workers." Later, during the America's News HQ, Fox reporter Chris Stirewalt claimed that the layoffs "rocked the community there in northeastern Ohio." 

But there's one problem: the Cleveland Clinic is not laying off any employees. Eileen Sheil, Cleveland Clinic's Executive Director of Corporate Communications, said in an e-mail to Media Matters, "There have been several mis-reports and they keep mentioning that we're laying off 3,000 employees. We're not." Sheil explained that Cleveland Clinic is offering voluntary retirement to 3,000 eligible employees and that the Clinic is also "working on many initiatives to lower costs, drive efficiencies, reduce duplication of services across our system and provide quality care to our patients." Sheil continued, "Many of these initiatives do not impact our employees." 

Sheil told Media Matters that Fox had been notified of its error and that the Cleveland Clinic requested Fox's future reporting on the issue more accurately present the Clinic's plans. According to a Media Matters search, Fox had not corrected its mistake by the time of publication.

This is what  Eileen Sheil, Cleveland Clinic's Executive Director of Corporate Communications ACTUALLY thinks about the ACA:

We believe reform is necessary because the current state is unsustainable. The ACA is a step toward that change and we believe more changes will come/evolve as there are still many uncertainties. Hospitals must be responsible and do what we can to prepare and support the law.

Yeah, but reporting THAT, and correcting their misreporting, would not exactly fit Fox New's business model of constantly smearing Democrats and reporting bullshit now would it?

CNN host grills Daily Caller editor over allegations from Dominican prostitute that she was paid to lie about Senator Menendez.

CNN anchor Brianna Keilar interrogated The Daily Caller Executive Editor David Martosko on Monday over his publication’s willingness to stand by their claim that Menendez patronized prostitutes in the Dominican Republic and that the Washington Post’s story debunking that report was inaccurate. 

“You have to understand that all of this was ginned up by a Washington Post report yesterday that basically uncritically reported this affidavit from the Dominican Republic,” Martosko said. He went on to list the reasons why the Post’s report was flawed. 

“Even if you say her claims are false, what is the proof she is not – that she is not on this video that she says she is?” Keilar asked. Martosko listed a number of reasons why the subject quoted in the Dominican affidavit was not the same person that The Daily Caller interviewed. 

“Someone could obviously fib about their name or they could fib about their age,” Keilar said. 

“And they could fib about an affidavit as well,” Martosko shot back, “and the Washington Post could take it and run with it in a very irresponsible way.” 

Keilar cited an ABC News report which has alleged that the interview the Daily Caller conducted was set up by a Republican operative. “Is it possible that you were duped?” Keilar asked. 

Martosko and Keilar engaged in a heated back and forth over the credibility of the sources The Daily Caller used in their original report on Menendez’s Dominican liaisons. Martosko confirmed that his website is going back and checking with their original sources.

You can't help but notice that every single time Brianna Keilar tries to get this douchebag to admit that he has no proof that this is not the same woman on the Daily Caller video, he obfuscates and tries to distract by claiming that it was the Washington Post that engaged in shoddy journalism.

Yes right, the same Washington Post that broke the Watergate story in the 1970's, and is one of the most respected newspapers in the world, does not match the journalistic high standards of a blog run by an often ridiculed occasional Fox News contributor.

Clearly these guys are in panic mode and worried that when this thing finishes blowing up in their faces they will be left with no credibility whatsoever.

But what am I saying? Since when do these Right Wing outlets care about credibility?
