Trailer full of automatic weapons and machine guns stolen from Indianapolis gun store. Oh goody!

Courtesy of The Indy Channel:

A trailer containing high-powered weapons and 20,000 rounds of ammunition was stolen from an Indianapolis gun store over the weekend.

According to Metro Police and ATF investigators, the guns were sitting in a trailer behind Profire Arms and Supply in the 7300 block of Rockville Road on the city's west side.

The owner told police that the theft was discovered Saturday about 8:30 a.m. He also told detectives the trailer was locked and he is the only person who had a key. The trailer contained M16 automatic rifles, AK47s, several machine guns, several submachine guns, an automatic UZI, and an Ohio Ordinance 249 belt-fed machine gun. Several handguns, shotguns and rifles, as well as silencers were inside. Police estimated the total value of all the firearms to be $225,000.

Now before anybody panics remember that guns don't kill people, people kill people...usually with guns.

Wait, what's the other gun dealer saying?

Don Davis, who has sold guns for more than 40 years at another Indy gun store, called the stolen firearms "weapons of war."

"These things are dangerous. These guns you're talking about here, you touch them (and it's) bang, bang, bang, until they run out," Davis said.

Oookay, so I guess now would be a good time to panic.

Hell who needs to worry about background checks, when gun stores leave  trailers simply bulging with military style weapons just sitting unprotected behind their buildings?

Gosh isn't living in America great?

Reporter sporting Google Glass at Indianapolis Speedway receives icy reception from Sarah and Todd Palin.

Courtesy of The Verge:

The thing about Glass is that it's a gigantic LOOK AT ME plastered on the front of your face; a call for attention that also serves as an invitation for people to openly judge you. Most of us walk through life at various levels of happy anonymity, but Glass puts a spotlight on you unlike anything I've ever experienced.

"Is that Google Glasses?" they all ask. "What is it doing right now?" I had my little speech memorized by the third or fourth time around. "It's not doing much," I'd say. "It's kind of like a GoPro with Siri." I let a few people try it on, but no one could figure out the interface. "It just tells the time?" they'd ask, and then I'd have them take a picture of me, most of which I promptly deleted. I kind of wish I hadn't, now. They would have made an interesting time-lapse documentary of my journey to the bottom of the hotel's Woodford Reserve.

At one point during the evening Sarah Palin arrived at the hotel and made a smooth, practiced pass through the bar shaking hands and taking photos with a long line of admirers. I stood next to her for several minutes but she wouldn't take a photo with me or wear Glass. "What's in it for us?" asked her husband Todd, staring squarely at the camera and screen floating just above my hazy, bourbon-enhanced eyes. "We don't know what company you're with."

When I told him I wasn't after an endorsement but was rather a journalist interested in her opinion of Glass, he icily asked me to leave.

"What's in it for us?"  If the Palins have a personal motto surely THAT would have to be it.

The Palins don't do ANYTHING that they are not paid to do, or which does not benefit them in some way.

So Todd is using that bullying bullshit again.  Seriously who in the hell is scared of this candy ass?

The one and only time I met him him, during one of Palin's book signings, he certainly did not rise up to try and intimidate me. Instead he turned to his wife and had her call security to have me escorted away, though I was doing NOTHING to be disruptive or confrontational.

I guess like all bullies he only gets tough when they thinks there is no chance that anybody will stand up to him.

Just like the Palins, making friends and impressing people everywhere they go.

Sarah Palin shows up at the Indianapolis Speedway. Smell of burning tires and sounds of crashing metal reminds her of her political career.

Not the image used in the article, because that one cannot be used without purchasing it first.

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, are touring the Indianapolis Motor Speedway today as guests of 1963 Indy 500 winner Parnelli Jones.

She’s a real game gal and her husband, Todd, is a macho guy and they wanted to do it,” Jones said after the Palins took take a ride around the IMS’ historic 2.5-mile oval in a Chevy Camaro. ("Macho guy? Oookay.)

The ride around the track is “bucket list stuff,” said Sarah. (Sadly using her name recognition to get free stuff before people forget why she was famous is ALSO on her bucket list.)

She will likely watch the Indy 500’s first pit stop from team owner Sarah Fisher’s pit and then watch the rest in a Pagoda suite.

“I’m anxious to see the stands full. That’s a spectacular sight, having watched it on TV all these years, growing up,” Palin said. “We’re motor heads, so that’s kind of our thing. Our daughter’s (Piper Palin) middle name is Indy...I wish our kids were here.”

"Our daughter’s (Piper Palin) middle name is Indy."

I swear sometimes it seems that Palin named her kids in order to help her get free stuff and access to events later in life.

"My son's name is Track does that earn me free tickets to any event held at a track."

"My daughter's name is Bristol. Sure would like some of your Bristol Bay caught salmon."

"My daughter's name is Piper.  We could really use a new plane."

"My son's middle name is Paxson sure wish Lowell "Bud" Paxson would blackmail John McCain into picking me for his VP candidate."

Yes, well milk while you can Palin, I think that free ride is sucking fumes right about now.
