Former U.S. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said on Sunday he is ready to "move on" and has forgiven MSNBC television host Melissa Harris-Perry for a segment that joked about his adopted African-American grandson.
"They apologized for it, and that's all you can ask for," Romney said on 'Fox News Sunday'. He said Harris-Perry's apology "was clearly heartfelt, and we accept that."
The comments from the 2012 presidential nominee and former Massachusetts governor were his first about Harris-Perry's emotional on-air apology and explanation on Saturday about the controversial segment.
Romney said he understands public figures are fair targets for criticism, "but children - that's beyond the line."
Did you notice how carefully edited that segment was on Fox?
That is so they can hide the fact that Melissa Harri-Perry herself was only respectful and kind concerning the newest addition to the Romney household and that does not fit the Right Wing meme that she attacked the infant.
Romney has to know this, so this bullshit acceptance of her apology is a thinly veiled attack on MSNBC, because the GOP hate them so very, very much.
So now after almost 200 years of labeling the African people as damned by God, the Mormons now use them as a prop to attract attention and deflect criticism? Somehow I don't think this can be considered progress.
It also appears that playing the victim has officially now become the Republican strategy for 2014 and 2016.
Yet another thing that we can all thank Sarah Palin for.
P.S. Oh and by the way Romney is also being sued for Criminal Racketeering.
Let's see him blame MSNBC for THAT!

Melissa Harris-Perry chokes up while delivering on air apology.
As I said before Harris-Perry did NOTHING for which she needs to apologize.
Nor did anything she said deserve the kind of hateful backlash that she received from those on the Right. And am I the only who thinks that.
MHP is of mixed race herself, and an educator, how anybody could accuse her of being insensitive to this child or mean spirited toward the Romney family is beyond me.

CNN helping to create fake outrage over MSNBC panel's remarks concerning Romney adoption. Suggesting that Melissa Harris-Perry join Bashir and Baldwin as ex-MSNBC hosts.
Courtesy of Mediaite:
We are now into Day Four of Kierangate, the slow-news-fueled controversy surrounding an at-best tone deaf MSNBC segment that used a photo of Mitt Romney grandchild Kieran Romney as a vehicle to attack Republicans’ lack of racial diversity, and CNN has upped the ante by reporting that “some” are “demanding” that host Melissa Harris-Perry be fired. If you stay through the tease and the entire report, though, you might find the evidence of an angry, firing-demanding mob somewhat lacking.
What began as online criticism of a ham-handed cable news segment has now morphed into a full-blown public cable news flogging of Dean Obeidallah, Pia Glenn, and MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry, who participated in said segment on Sunday’s episode of Harris-Perry’s show. MSNBC competitors Fox News and CNN each filled the desolate holiday weekend with multiple segments attacking the segment, while Harris-Perry and her panelists offered a round of apologies on Twitter, and elsewhere.
On Wednesday morning, CNN anchor Zoraida Sambolin teased a report on the uproar by telling viewers “Some people demanding MSNBC fire one host after she mocked Mitt Romney’s black grandson,” (Harris-Perry’s comment on the photo had to do with imagining a Mitt Romney/Kanye West-sponsored wedding in the future) and introduced the report, by Lisa Desjardins, by repeating that claim, and grouping Harris-Perry with recently-ousted MSNBC hosts Alec Baldwin and Martin Bashir.
Desjardin’s report, however, presents little evidence of such a groundswell. giving just one example of a person on Twitter who wants Harris-Perry fired. Even with more examples, a raft of tweets is an awfully low bar for a national news network to claim as a newsworthy movement to have someone fired. To this point, Harris-Perry’s critics from competing cable news outlets have not suggested she be fired, nor has anyone else in Desjardin’s report.
Let me just say that if MSNBC caves and allows this non-scandal to cost them yet ANOTHER host due to Right Wing outrage they will have finally lost me as a loyal viewer.
And for those who did not see the segment, MHP herself said NOTHING objectionable at all, and in fact referred to the child as gorgeous.
Here see for yourself.
Please MSNBC, do NOT let the Right Wing professional outrage machine steal away another talented member of your cable news family.
If you give in they will not stop until there is nobody left to compete against Fox News and CNN. And you know, perhaps THAT is the goal!

Un-flippin-believable!
This was posted a little while ago over on the Klondike Kardashian's Facebook page.
WTF?
I cannot believe that this idiot refuses to recognize that what MHP was saying is that children are not possessions, they are responsibilities. And that the responsibility for nurturing them, protecting, them and educating them does not simply fall on the parent.
And to answer Palins' question, "Hell NO you can't take our children hunting or riding in a pickup with you! You are an insane person!"
P.S. By the way I heard Rush Limbaugh going off on this thing today for well over fifteen minutes, so apparently the Right Wing are not gong to stop worrying this bone of stupidity anytime soon.

Melissa Harris-Perry responds to attack by Sarah Palin and other Right Wing morons.
Courtesy of MSNBC:
My inbox began filling with hateful, personal attacks on Monday, apparently as a result of conservative reactions to a recent “Lean Forward” advertisement now airing on MSNBC, which you can view above. What I thought was an uncontroversial comment on my desire for Americans to see children as everyone’s responsibility has created a bit of a tempest in the right’s teapot. Allow me to double down.
One thing is for sure: I have no intention of apologizing for saying that our children, all of our children, are part of more than our households, they are part of our communities and deserve to have the care, attention, resources, respect and opportunities of those communities.
I believe wholeheartedly, and without apology, that we have a collective responsibility to the children of our communities even if we did not conceive and bear them. Of course, parents can and should raise their children with their own values. But they should be able to do so in a community that provides safe places to play, quality food to eat, terrific schools to attend, and economic opportunities to support them. No individual household can do that alone. We have to build that world together.
So those of you who were alarmed by the ad can relax. I have no designs on taking your children. Please keep your kids! But I understand the fear.
We do live in a nation where slaveholders took the infants from the arms of my foremothers and sold them for their own profit. We do live in a nation where the government snatched American Indian children from their families and “re-educated” them by forbidding them to speak their language and practice their traditions.
But that is not what I was talking about, and you know it.
Yep they DO know it. They are just hoping that the low information paint chip eaters who listen to them don't.
And Palin herself knows full well the importance of a community willing to offer support in the raising of children. Her own children certainly benefited from the help of family members and friends who stepped in to care for her kids when she was in one of her depressions and locked away in her room, or busy running for office, or away from the house avoiding her job as Governor, or even banging one of Todd's best friends.
In fact I think it is safe to say that she could have used even MORE help in keeping them out of trouble, away from drugs, and teaching them that they did not have to get pregnant in order to finally get their mother's attention.
But alas there was no Professor Melissa Harris-Perry there to offer instruction and guidance.
And we have seen the result.
So perhaps Palin should shut up and allow the Professor to educate those for whom her advice is NOT too late?

I somehow missed this but apparently when Sarah Palin was going after CNN the other day, she also took a bizarre jab at MSNBC.
So yesterday I wrote about how Sarah Palin was all pissy about a journalist who works for CNN daring to call her consultants "consultants."
Well what I failed to notice is that Palin was a cable news tear (With the exception of Fox News of course.) and also went after Melissa-Harris Perry for one of her "Lean Forward" promos on MSNBC.
Now apparently Palin was angry at MHP for daring to suggest that children were not the possessions of their parents, you know like a pair of socks or a new car, and instead were human beings that should be nurtured by the entire community.
Here maybe you can make sense out of it.

Apparently MSNBC doesn't think your children belong to you. Unflippingbelievable. youtu.be/Oa9temz_CxwNice of her to embed the video so that we can see for ourselves how completely ridiculous her attack is, don't you think?
