Sean Hannity becomes the latest Fox News personality accused of sexual harassment. Update!

During a Friday interview with Tulsa, Oklahoma-based radio host Pat Campbell, former Fox News guest Debbie Schlussel accused Hannity of inviting her to his hotel room before and after a debate with a pro-Palestinian guest in Detroit. 

Schlussel said she rejected Hannity’s alleged advances and that she was never invited on his show again. Schlussel and Hannity were scheduled to speak together at the Detroit show, Schlussel said. But before the show, Hannity allegedly invited her to an event at a nearby bookstore. The Daily Beast was not able to confirm whether the pair ever spoke at such a show. 

“He had some event at a bookstore where he signed his book for people standing in line. He asked me to come meet him at this book signing,” Schlussel said on Campbell’s show. “So I met him there and it was very awkward. He had me up there with him while he signed books and I felt very weird. These people don’t know me and they didn’t come for me to sign their books. Then I left to get ready for the show, and he said, ‘Why don’t you come back with me to my hotel?’ and I said no, I have to get ready for the show.”

Schlussel claims that Hannity hit on her again even though her family was present and when she rejected him a second time that ended her appearances on his show.

Of course Hannity is denying any of this occurred, but then so did Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly.

To be honest I have no idea if these charges are factual or not, but I do know that in an environment like the one at Fox News it would be almost expected that the male "talent" would compete to see who could be the biggest asshole.

I remember watching Lawrence O'Donnell on the day that we learned of the accusations against O'Reilly. By way of pointing out that not all celebrities get accused of sexual harassment, which was part of the O'Reilly defense, O'Donnel mentioned that there were no accusations directed at Hannity.

At the time I remember thinking "Wait for it."

And sure enough it is here.

And there are likely to be others, and not just directed at Sean Hannity.

As the Daily Beast is pointing out today, we seem to have all forgotten that all of this started with Steve Doocy: 

On July 6, 2016, former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson sued Roger Ailes, alleging she was sexually harassed. The suit prompted an investigation of Ailes, his eventual firing, and a $20 million settlement for Carlson. 

The investigation of Ailes, and the public standard it set for Fox News, set the predicate for the ouster of Bill O’Reilly last week, following numerous allegations of sexual harassment. 

But Carlson’s problems with Ailes began when she complained to him about the conduct of Steve Doocy, her co-host on Fox & Friends. 

According to Carlson’s complaint, Doocy “engaged in a pattern and practice of severe and pervasive sexual harassment of Carlson.”

Like I said "compete to see who could be the biggest asshole." And let's face it there are plenty of assholes involved in that competition.

The only question to ask is who is the next asshole to follow Ailes and O'Reilly out the door?

Update: Now Schussel is claiming that while her story is accurate, that she does not believe it rises to the legal definition of sexual harassment: 

“I would never accuse him of that. Sexual harassment has a special meaning under the law, and I would never accuse him of that,” Schlussel, an attorney herself, said. Schlussel said the interaction happened in the early 2000’s when Hannity was in Detroit taping a show.

This is of course after Hannity's lawyers threatened legal action. 

Make of that what you will.

Megyn Kelly becomes the latest to accuse Roger Ailes of sexual harassment. Update!

As a chorus of prominent Fox News women have gone public defending Roger Ailes against the wave of sexual-harassment allegations sparked by former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson’s lawsuit, the network’s biggest star, Megyn Kelly, has been conspicuously silent. Kelly’s refusal to join in Ailes’s orchestrated defense has led to speculation about why. 

Now we have the answer. According to two sources briefed on parent company 21st Century Fox’s outside probe of the Fox News executive, led by New York–based law firm Paul, Weiss, Kelly has told investigators that Ailes made unwanted sexual advances toward her about ten years ago when she was a young correspondent at Fox. Kelly, according to the sources, has described her harassment by Ailes in detail. 

Kelly’s comments to investigators might explain why the Murdochs are moving so quickly to oust Ailes.

I've been waiting for Megyn Kelly to add her name to the list.

And now that she has there is no doubt that Ailes is toast.

Personally I hope it does not stop with Ailes.

I have a strong feeling that misogyny and sexual harassment are rampant at Fox News.

Remember Gretchen Carlson originally named Steve Doocey as well, and back in 2004 Bill O'Reilly settled a sexual harassment suit filed by his former producer, Andrea Mackris.

Update: It appears that Ailes is in the "advanced stages" of a discussion to leave Fox News.

So, I guess they're not waiting until after the GOP convention then?

First it was teachers reducing homework to hide their socialist agenda, and now it is meatless Mondays in the school cafeteria to brainwashing children into the liberal vegan lifestyle. The horrors!

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples recently published an op-ed in the Austin American-Statesman in which he condemned school districts that instituted a “Meatless Monday” program, which involves cafeterias serving vegetarian fare one day per week. On Monday, Fox News hosts Steve Doocy and Elisabeth Hasselbeck invited Staples to back up his views on the air: 

“Our schools are doing a really fantastic job of meeting the nutritional needs and educational needs of our kids,” said Staples. “But what we have here is a ‘Meatless Mondays’ campaign that’s really an agenda-driven campaign. And the people who are behind this, they don’t want you to not just eat meat one day a week, but seven days a week. Obesity and unhealthy lifestyles are caused because of inactivity and because of not having a balanced diet. It’s just sending the wrong message to our kids. This is not about meat– it’s about hunger, and we need to educate our kids the right way and not have agenda-driven campaigns.” 

“So you say that Meatless Mondays are brainwashing?” Doocy asks. 

“Clearly it is because we know that a balanced diet is what children need. And the people that are pushing this are saying that having Meatless Monday options is somehow a healthier option menu and that it’s better for the environment. This all stems from anti-animal agriculturalists who are trying to blame animals for some of our environmental problems… They shouldn’t castigate one type of food category and give the false impression to our kids that this is healthier for the environment and healthier for them as individuals.”

Yes leave it to a Texas Agriculture Commissioner to freak out about the idea of less meat being served in schools. I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that Texas is the leader in livestock production in this country?

As you may remember Fox News also recently warned us that teachers were sending students home with less homework to limit parental involvement in their school work.

Gee where would we be without Fox News hysterically warning us about imaginary dangers in our public schools?

What's next, are they going to warn us that too much PE time is wearing out children's bodies prematurely?

Fox and Friends host upset that real life Chris Christie scandal is interfering with news coverage of their over inflated Obama "scandal."

Fox News host Steve Doocy on Thursday lamented the fact that the media was covering leaked emails that proved New Jersey Chris Christie’s (R) administration closed part of the busiest bridge in the world as political retribution instead of criticizing President Barack Obama. 

Fox & Friends spent the first five minutes of their 7 a.m. ET hour reminding viewers that former Defense Secretary Robert Gates had written a book that had been hyped by The Washington Post‘s Bob Woodward as offering “a harsh critique of Obama.” 

For the third day in a row, the Fox News hosts asserted that the book meant that the president did not trust or support the U.S. military, although people who have actually read the book say that conservatives have mischaracterized Gates’ comments. 

But the Gates story was moved to the back burner on Wednesday, when emails emerged suggesting Christie’s office ordered George Washington Bridge as lane closures last year political retribution against Democratic Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich and most of the media — with the exception of Fox News — focused on the scandal. 

“Imagine the commander and chief claiming he supports you, but not your mission,” Fox News host Elisabeth Hasselbeck charged on Thursday. “To hear any of that coming forward in this book is just shocking!” 

“Yeah,” Doocy agreed. “And I was watching one news channel yesterday, you would think that this would be a big story… all about the bridge thing… with Christie.”

Don't you just hate it when your carefully crafted attack against the President is overwhelmed by news of a real scandal that  centers around a politician that your network is touting as the next GOP presidential hopeful?

Man that must blow.

Somebody the other day labeled the Christie scandal as "Bridgeghazi." I wonder if we keep calling it that that it will finally attract the attention of Fox News?

Yeah, probably not.

By the way for those of us who are interested in the REAL scandal that broke this week, here is Rachel Maddow's fascinating hypothesis as to the real reason Christie's operatives closed down the George Washington Bridge.

A House stenographer was pulled out of the House chamber while shouting into the microphone during Wednesday’s vote on a compromise bill to end the government shutdown and raise the debt limit. 

The woman was Dianne Reidy, an official reporter with the Office of the Clerk, two sources told ABC News. She was heard shouting “the House is divided,” according to one source. 

She was pulled off the rostrum by chamber security staff. 

“He will not be mocked,” the woman said, according to an audio recording of the incident posted online by Public Radio International reporter Todd Zwillich. “This is not one nation under God. It never was.” 

“The greatest deception here is this is not one nation under god! It never was. Had it been, it would not have been! The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons!” she added. 

The incident caused a moment of chaos in the chamber as the presiding member, Rep. Ileana Ros Lehtinen, R-Fla., repeatedly banged the gavel, trying to restore order.

Now you might think that this was a clearly unhinged woman who simply snapped under the incredible pressure that was present last night. But according to Fox and Friends, you would be wrong. Pagan!  

“That is Diane Reidy,” Brian Kilmeade reported, “who went to the Speaker’s chair, as you saw and saying praise to God, Jesus Christ.” 

“She went on to say something in reference to Freemasons, and also seemed to say something about a house being divided,” he continued. 

“This minister just emailed,” Steve Doocy interrupted. 

“It was not a mental episode,” he said, reading from the email. “What she was doing was known as an exercise of the gifts of the spirit where she was — she had brought a warning and a message from God regarding the activity, he felt, there in the House.” 

“Amazingly, this religious and obviously a sweet lady gets fed up and speaks her mind, something we all have tried to do,” Doocy added while reading from another email. “She brings up our dear lord and she gets a mental evaluation? I think it should be the other way around.” 

“Who knows?” Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked. “Maybe she just saw something that didn’t seem right and mounting frustrations and tensions brought it out of her.”

That's right folks. the woman was simply relaying a message from God, and what did they do in response? Have her evaluated for a mental illness.

 You know that's what's wrong in this country, crazy people are being treated like crazy people instead of prophets or seers.

It is all down hill from here.

P.S. Boy that Hasselbeck is certainly fitting in well over there at Fox, don't you think? Really found her niche.

Fox News contributor uses upcoming Hillary Clinton biopic as excuse to smear her by claiming she lied about Benghazi.

Fox & Friends covered the announcement that NBC's entertainment division is planning to air a new mini-series focused on Hillary Clinton's "life as a wife, mother, politician and cabinet member" sometime before 2015. Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich used the segment as an opportunity to smear Clinton, saying: 

PAVLICH: "Although Diane Lane is a fantastic actress, I doubt she can act as well as Hillary Clinton did when she lied about that YouTube video in front of flag-draped caskets of Americans as they came home from being killed in Benghazi. So it's going to be really hard for her to top that performance."

But in her remarks, Clinton mentioned the wave of protests at U.S. embassies in the region, which repeated news reports said were in response to an anti-Islam video that was posted on YouTube. From Clinton's remarks: 

"In the days since the attack, so many Libyans - including the Ambassador from Libya to the United States, who is with us today - have expressed their sorrow and solidarity. One young woman, her head covered and her eyes haunted with sadness, held up a handwritten sign that said "Thugs and killers don't represent Benghazi nor Islam." The President of the Palestinian Authority, who worked closely with Chris when he served in Jerusalem, sent me a letter remembering his energy and integrity, and deploring - and I quote - "an act of ugly terror." Many others from across the Middle East and North Africa have offered similar sentiments."

"This has been a difficult week for the State Department and for our country. We've seen the heavy assault on our post in Benghazi that took the lives of those brave men. We've seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful internet video that we had nothing to do with. It is hard for the American people to make sense of that because it is senseless, and it is totally unacceptable."

As we can see Clinton was mentioning the video as being an added problem in various areas within the Middle East, NOT blaming it for the attack in Benghazi.

We knew this was coming, and of course Fox can hardly WAIT to start trotting out the anti-Hillary ammunition that they were unable to use in 2008.

However having THIS blonde bimbo going after a woman of Hillary's stature is especially infuriating as it is obvious that she knows NOTHING about what she is talking about except what the producers pounded into her tiny skull right before she came out and sat in that chair.

If that bimbo were forced to confront Hillary herself, and make those allegations in person, she would be bathed in flop sweat and more than likely fighting the urge not to bolt out of the room or wet her pants.

However it was Steve Doocy who wins the award for unwitting irony after claiming that NBC is "one of the biggest and most biased networks."  Okay Doocy-bag do you even watch your cable "news" shows?

Well if these idiots want to take out Hillary they are going to have to do a much better job then throwing ignorant blonde bimbos at her. And that goes for the chick too.
