Shushannah Walsh, who once authored a book about Sarah Palin (Sarah from Alaska), is essentially offering excuses for Track's behavior here.
Yes Track has a definite substance abuse problem.
But no it has NOTHING to do with any PTSD from his time in the military.
As we have noted a number of times in the past, Track did NOT actually see any combat while he was serving his one year hitch overseas.
In his discharge papers, posted above, there is no CIB (Combat Infantry Badge) which is given to ALL infantrymen and special forces who ACTIVELY participate in combat.
This of course means that Track did NOT see any actual combat, which I am sure his mother arranged for before she forced him to enlist.
So if indeed Track is suffering from PTSD, it is a disorder he earned simply by being a member of the Palin family, and NOT one he earned while serving his country.
As for the opioid problem, well Track has been dealing with that since his teens.
And that is ALSO likely the result of being a member of the Palin family.
Track also appeared in court today and was approved for house arrest.
Courtesy of ADN:
Magistrate Judge Tara Logsdon approved house arrest with electronic monitoring for Palin and kept his $5,000 bail. Logsdon said she expected Palin to be released Wednesday.
Once released, he's not allowed to go within an "exclusion zone" around his parents' home along the Parks Highway, or near liquor stores or places serving alcohol. He can't drink and must take prescription drugs only as prescribed. All weapons must be taken out of his house.
Palin, who lives alone, will be allowed to go to medical appointments and to work at Alaska Directional LLC, a drilling company in Palmer.
The family supports the house arrest request, Todd Palin told the judge by phone.
His parents and siblings — younger brother Trig and sister Piper — still want contact with Track, Todd Palin said.
It's not known if the children were in the house during the assault.
Personally I would keep the kids far away from Track at this point, but the Palin family is not exactly known for good parenting decisions.
The prosecutor was not happy with some of these bail terms agreed to by the judge, but she did manage to get her request approved for a mental health evaluation.
Well, that's a start.
P.S. For those who were asking for one, here is a photo of Track from today's proceedings.
Oh yeah, that is definitely the face of a man you want spending time with your kids.
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Soldier writes of the preferential treatment he saw Track Palin receive while in the military.

Track with his punching bag Jordan Loewe. |
On meeting Sarah Palin, and spitting in her coffee:
Most of the time Sarah would just would just show up at the office and expect the whole world to stop for her. Thankfully, she wouldn’t come by frequently so we only had to put up with her a few times. That changed when the frequency of her visits started to increase during the fall of 2007. She went from visiting every few months to every few weeks. After a few of her visits I started to develop a distaste for the dear Governor because she hardly showed anyone any respect, but she expected everyone to ‘come to’ for her. As time went on, and my patience started to run thin, I started to pay more attention to how her visits went. One of the things I noticed, other than her absolutely wretched attitude to anyone wearing the uniform was that she would always go into the Commander’s office and ask for a cup of coffee. It didn’t take too long until I decided that I had reached my snapping point. It was then that I decided to add something special to the governors regular coffee: a little taste of my saliva.
For the record I am really grossed out by this and would never recommend that somebody do anything so disgusting.
On the other hand this IS Sarah Palin, and I can understand the impulse.
On Palin's meetings with the base Commander and Track's preferential treatment:
As much of America knows her son Track Palin joined the military in the fall of 2007. Right around the time the visits from the dear Governor increased in their frequency. One of the things I noticed with each passing visit was not only my frustration with the Governor but also the increasing frustration of the Commander. He clearly did not like her stopping in. There was one meeting in particular that I remember like it was yesterday.
It was the dead of winter in Alaska and that’s often when most things in Alaska start to slow down. For the command team at 1/25 though that certainly wasn’t the case. The Governor did her routine random stop in early one morning and asked to talk to the commander. I, of course, did my job and coordinated the meeting. The meeting lasted anywhere from 20-30 minutes and the Governor left quickly; we could tell she was in somewhat of a hurry. The Commander bellowed to me, “Get the commander of 3-21 on the horn right away and tell him I want him down here now.” I did again did what I was told to do and arranged the meeting.
This is where I went out of my normal bounds. I could tell the Commander was upset and I had to ask what was going on. He then told me in no so many words that the Governor’s son Track would be joining our brigade and he had to ensure he was kept safe in the Headquarters Company of 3-21 Infantry. I could tell this frustrated the Commander and it certainly frustrated me, more now than it did at the time. What other soldier that enlists gets to go back to their home state? What other soldier gets their parent involved to influence where they’re stationed? What other soldier gets to be kept safe? No one, other than those in positions of power and influence.
On hearing Palin use Track's supposed PTSD as an excuse for punching his girlfriend:
For the years following Sarah Palin has been constantly in our faces because for some reason the media can’t just let her fade into obscurity. I have heard her say thousands of times how proud she was of her combat veteran son and how amazing he was as a person. This weekend though she went too far when she used PTSD as a justification of her son’s battery of his spouse. PTSD is a horrible condition that many veterans face and have to struggle with every day. Out of the thousands of veterans I know managing the condition, I have never heard of a single one using their PTSD as an excuse for their behavior. To me, this is entirely unacceptable and it just reminds me of how disgusting of a person Sarah Palin is and was. It seems like she will use her offspring to do whatever she can as pawns to further her influence in the media or politics. Simply put: it’s disgusting.
On Track being discharged:
Track joins the military just in time to deploy with a unit that was stationed out of Fort Wainwright, Alaska. While deployed she suddenly gets picked as the Vice Presidential Candidate. Then, shortly after the deployment Track is discharged from the active duty after serving a little over two years.
Once discharged Track was transferred to the National Guard and just happens to be stationed as a recruiter back in his hometown.
This is the first I have heard that Track is working as a recruiter, but I have to wonder if being outed as a abusive prick makes him better at that job or gets him taken off that job?
So essentially everything we have heard about Track being coddled and protected from harm, has now been proven true. IF of course this young man is telling the truth.
I will leave it up to you to decide.

More news outlets jump on fact that Track Palin is NOT a combat veteran.
I have been keeping tabs on who is, and who is not buying the Palin BS, this time around, and it seems that virtually NO ONE is buying her excuse that Track punched his girlfriend in the face due to PTSD that he suffered while serving overseas.
And then, as I reported earlier, there a bunch of blogs and news outlets that are posting the above discharge papers and stating unequivocally that Track is NOT a combat veteran.
Here are a few more to add to the list:
Star Pulse.
Ring of Fire. (This site does not display the documents, but does allude to their existence.)
Blasting News. (This one uses the same tactic as Ring of Fire.)
That's all I can find so far but I keep hoping that a more prestigious website like Politico or the Huffington Post will post them and that it will convince Palin to say something publicly about the documents.
By the way here is that photo of Track with Trig and Tripp, that Bristol ripped down from her Instagram account after the news broke that Track is a woman beater.
Sorry Bris, the internet is forever.

Finally, Track Palin's lack of combat experience is being discussed openly by news outlets.
I went back and researched it, the first time that I shared the discharge papers above was back in November of 2010, over five long years ago.
The papers had been sent to me my a loyal reader who had simply filed a records request.
However though we discussed it here in quite some detail, and even though I posted it several more times, it did not receive much response on the interwebs.
However THAT has suddenly changed.
As of today this document has spread far and wide, and Sarah Palin's claims about her son's service are under a great deal of scrutiny.
Here are just a few places that have posted the discharge papers:
Addicting Info.
Winning Democrats.
Bipartisan Report.
Inquisitr.
And one time Fox News host Alan Colmes.
In fact many of these folks are offering a lightly modified version of the documents, which point out exactly what is missing:
You know I often receive demands that I "release everything that I know" to "bring Palin down for good."
As I have exhaustively explained numerous times that is not how any of this works.
For one thing I have shared most of what I know here on IM, and as you have seen that only has an impact once Palin herself does something which brings attention to it.
As for what remains, that will ONLY be effective coming out of the mouths of the people who were the witnesses to the events, or cover ups.
And as I have explained they simply to not want to upend their lives unless there is a compelling reason to do so.
Currently I am still waiting for the fact that Cathy Baldwin Johnson was working at Providence Hospital in Anchorage the night that she supposedly helped Sarah Palin give birth at Mat-Su Regional to finally get the attention it deserves as well.
But like I said that will probably only happen once Palin herself does something that gets people talking and investigating her lies once again.
Well personally though I am pretty satisfied with the truth about Track getting out there, I certainly hope I don't have to wait another five years for every other scandal we know of to finally see the light of day.
