Chuck Todd is not even pretending to be nonpartisan anymore.

I don't know what forum ole Chuckie was watching but on the one that I saw Hillary came off as smart and prepared, while Trump came off as evasive and incoherent.

By the way Todd is not alone, somebody else also agrees with his assessment.

Gee, that's awfully similar.

This is the "presser" Todd is referring to during which Clinton tears a huge chunk out of Donald Trump: 

Hillary Clinton unleashed a torrent of attacks against Donald Trump's preparedness to be commander in chief and questioned his patriotism Thursday morning, hours after an NBC forum exposed her opponent to criticism on multiple fronts. 

"It is a game to him. Everything is a game. It is like he is living in his own celebrity reality TV program," Clinton said at a campaign rally in Charlotte Thursday afternoon. "You know what Donald, this is real reality, this is real people, these are real decisions that have to be made for our country."

"Last night was yet another test and Donald Trump failed yet again. We saw more evidence that he is temperamentally unfit and totally unqualified to be commander in chief. He trash talked American generals," she said.

Yeah I can see why that might get Trump all riled up, but why would it agitate an actual journalist focused on the facts?

Open Thread for the Commander-in-Chief Forum. Update!

This event is on NBC and MSNBC at 4:00 PM Alaska time, which means 8:00 PM for those of you on the east coast.

I think it is going to be very interesting and possibly quite important as it is the first time before the debates that we will see Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump appear on the same stage, albeit not at the same time.

Hillary is going to take the first half hour with Trump bumbling through the second. 

They will also be taking questions from a live audience comprised mainly of members of the military.

I of course will be tweeting along with this as well and you can follow me by clicking here.

I have to admit that my first instinct tells me that Trump is going to face plant hard tonight, since I have been listening to him speak on military issues lately and it is like hearing a three year old discussing quantum mechanics.

However there are likely to be tough questions for Hillary as well.

Well I have my popcorn and beverage of choice at the ready so let's do this thing.

Open thread for tonight's Democratic presidential forum hosted by Rachel Maddow.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow is set to moderate the network’s only event in the Presidential primary season, a forum from Winthrop University in South Carolina. Deemed the “First in the South Presidential Forum”, tonight’s event will feature frontrunner Hillary Clinton, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, and former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley.

I have to admit that I am looking forward to this almost more than I am the next Democratic debate.

I am a big fan of Rachel's and I fully expect her to ask tough yet fair questions of the candidates while also providing perhaps a little more showmanship than we have seen on debate stages so far this election cycle.

I think the only thing that might be better than watching Rachel Maddow grill the Democratic candidates, would be watching her grill the Republicans candidates, which I would actually cahnge out of my pajama bottoms and fly across the country to witness in person.

Alaska Senate candidate Dan Sullivan REALLY does not want to answer questions about receiving money from the Koch brothers.

So after a fish policy debate in Kodiak. KTUU reporter Grace Jang managed to corral Sullivan and ask him how much backing he was getting from the Koch brothers.

Take a look at his response.

“Look, um, we’re getting broad based support from Alaskans first and foremost. That’s where I’m focused on in this race. And getting out the message with regard to what we’re doing in this race.”

Well there's an answer that holds to the proud Sarah Palin tradition of word salad that we have all come to know and loathe. 

Did anybody else notice that Sullivan got a little green around the gills after Jang asked her question? And I swear that pause was pregnant longer than Palin was before the "delivery" of her last child.

Speaking of pregnant pauses check this response after a reporter with the New Republic asked Sullivan about a Palin endorsement:  

When I asked if he wanted the endorsement of Sarah Palin, who appointed him to be the state’s attorney general in 2009, he waited a few awkward beats before saying: “I want the endorsement of everybody. Anybody who believes in less government, more freedom, and pushing back on the Obama administration’s overreach into our lives.”

Do you hear that Sarah?

Sullivan wants the endorsement of everybody, possibly even including you.

How about it? Unless of course you are no longer interested in supporting candidates and causes in our great state that is.

Come on, I double dog dare you.

Do you know how you can tell that you are a student at a prestigious university dedicated to higher learning? When they DON'T hire Sarah Palin as the "star attraction" at their leadership forum.

Southeastern University is gearing up for its annual fundraising leadership event next week, featuring former Alaska governor Sarah Palin as star attraction. 

Palin, 49, the 2008 Republican candidate for vice president, will be at the 2013 National Leadership Forum along with a list of other speakers. She will talk about leadership. 

Brian Carroll, vice president for university advancement, said ticket sales are going well, but there still are some available.

Yeah well if they are expecting Sarah Palin to help sell out the available seats they are about three years too late. She is well past her sell-by-date.

She is talking about "leadership?" How does a half term governor, who left her job to pimp herself and her family on book tours and reality television have anything to contribute about leadership?

If THAT is the kind of leader they respect then why didn't they simply schedule Honey Boo Boo? At least the ratings for HER reality show did not dry up after the first episode.

But don't for a minute think this is a serious school.  Check out their Mission Statement:

In other words this is a school you attend for training as future evangelists. Essentially focusing on teaching, communications, and business, all to spread the gospel to the unsaved, and therefore non-tithing, pagan minions of the world.

You know now that I think about it, this may in fact be the perfect place for Sarah Palin to speak. After all who knows more about spreading mythology to the masses, in order to trick them into handing over their cash, than Sarah Palin?
