Sarah Palin mounts her old dead horse, and starts ringing her bell to warn the patriots that "ISIS is coming, ISIS is coming!"

Click dazed expression to play video.
I am going to transcribe the video just to test my pain threshold.

Here you go, oooh that stings already:

"Well President Obama's war against ISIS, it's going so well that ISIS is expanding. The Nigerian terror group called Boko Haram has now repeatedly pledged its allegiance to ISIS. At one stroke ISIS has added a new center of operations, thousands of new fighters, and thousands of square miles to its Jihadist empire. ISIS now controls territory in Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, possibly even Libya. While the Obama administration takes its time, refusing to bring decisive force to the fight. ISIS kills innocent men, women, and children by the thousands. And with each kill, each propaganda video, it increases its apill (sic) to Islamic radicals. How much does ISIS have to grow before we realize the magnitude of the threat? The Obama administration (Jarring edit here) Their priority is on limiting American involvement and that means jihadists run wild. (Is that anything like "Girls Gone Wild?") President Obama wanted to be the President who ended wars. (Yep that's why we elected him.) It's what he claimed. But he forgot a fundamental principle (Oh please enlighten us oh bewigged one!) It's hard to end a war when the enemy is still fighting. (You know correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that ISIS even existed when we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan.) So he forfeited our victory in Iraq (Wait, we won?) imposed ludicrous restrictions on our troops in Afghanistan, and remember he called ISIS the 'junior varsity' even as it was gathering terrifying strength in Syria. Friends we're fighting the most evil jihadists the world has ever seen. Yet the Obama administration refuses to act like we're at war. It's time to take the gloves off overseas. Before ISIS can take the war to us here at home."

Gee I wonder how much ISIS had to contribute to SarahPAC in order to get Palin to make this nifty propaganda video for them?

Isn't this the same way that George W. Bush helped to elevate a rag tag bunch of sheep herders into one the scariest terrorist groups on the planet?

Here is what the folks over at Wonkette had to say:

ISIS is, by almost any measure, losing ground. The group failed to take the city of Kobani, and they failed in large part because President Mom Jeans bombed the living shit out of them. ISIS has been driven out of Tikrit, with a few remaining defenders cut off and encircled near the Tigris River. The group’s revenue streams have been decimated, and their fighting formations are beginning to experience desertion among the rank-and-file.

ISIS is also currently under attack from Saudi Arabia, the Kurds, Egypt, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Turkey to name but a few.

And of course all of that is thanks to the efforts of the United States and the President that the Republicans keep accusing of "leading from behind."

But let's face it, Sarah Palin and her ilk will not be satisfied with a US response until we have gallons of American blood spilling onto the hot sands.  And of course NONE of that blood will spill from her precious military prop, because he is safely out of harm's way taking drugs, starting fights at parties, and sponging off of his famous mother.

President Obama, the living breathing antidote to the Republican fear mongering over Ebola.

Courtesy of USA Today:

"The best way to protect Americans from Ebola is to stop the outbreak at its source," Obama said in an East Room ceremony honoring doctors and nurses who have been or are going to West Africa.

"If we are not dealing with this problem there, it will come here," Obama said.

The president lauded his guests for their "sense of duty," and of "serving a cause greater than themselves." He called them "shock troops" who should be applauded.

"And when they come home," Obama said. "they deserve to be treated properly. They deserve to be treated like the heroes that they are."

Obama and aides have criticized New Jersey, New York and Illinois over quarantine policies for returning workers.

These doctors and nurses can help explain the challenge of Ebola to Americans, and how to beat it. "We respond with common sense and skill and courage," he said, and not "fear," "hysteria" or "misinformation."

Obama seemed to nearly choke up as he discussed his frustration with state officials who have called for quarantines of health care workers from Africa.

"I put those on notice who think that we should hide from these problems," Obama said. "That's not who we are, that's not who I am, that's not who these folks are. This is America, and we do things differently."

I listened to this speech live earlier today during the Alex Wagner show, and I was incredibly proud of my President for standing up to the  Right Wing over this issue.

I especially loved this part:

"The reason I am so proud of this country is because when there are times when we need to step up and do the right thing, we do the right thing. That's who we are. That's what we do. No other nation is doing as much to help in West Africa as the United States of America. When I hear people talking about American leadership...and then are promoting policies that would avoid leadership...and have us running in the opposite direction...and hiding under the covers, it makes me a little frustrated."

That must be the very definition of an understatement.

His cool, calm, and intellectual response to this issue stands in stark contrast to the fear mongering, the sky is falling, hysterics of those on the Right.

Fox News has Sarah Palin weigh in on how we are handling Ebola cases in America. For reasons that completely escape me. Update!

Courtesy of Politico:

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin agreed Monday that there should be a quarantine for medical workers coming from West Africa as she took President Barack Obama and his administration to task over its “incompetency” in handling the Ebola crisis.

“I do think that there needs to be that quarantine but, see, this is par for the course that Obama’s incompetency, his administration’s incompetency, is really shining bright in this one,” the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said on Fox News’ “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”

Palin added that Washington is “trying to call the shots for these governors. There is a void of leadership here and the governors need to step up and step in.”

“We’re going to demand of our leadership in Washington and on the state level to get politics out of this and allow the medical community to tell us factually, what needs to be done,” Palin said.

Palin said she would talk to other governors about enacting a quarantine, if she were still serving in that role in Alaska.

“And I betcha we would come to the conclusion that you can’t trust the Obama administration,” she said, adding that liberals are using “Saul Alinsky tactics” to capitalize on crisis.

Who in the HELL would ever ask this woman about contagious diseases or how the government should  respond to an outbreak in this country?

She is not only completely fact free in this completely unnecessary interview, she is also histrionic and attempts to drum up panic from Fox viewers in order to undermine the President.

A President, who by the way, has this completely under control.

Look I live in a state where Sarah Palin had to deal with crisis. Her never wavering approach was to first pretend that there was no problem, slowly respond after being pressured by constituents and the media, and finally have Franklin Graham fly up here and go with her to deliver cookies.

If we had an Ebola outbreak in Alaska while Palin was in charge, we would all be dead right now.

Update: Perhaps somebody should show Princess Panic Attack this:

As the number of ebola cases in the U.S. dwindled to one Tuesday, a new CNN/ORC poll found the American public surprisingly confident in the federal government’s response to the virus in the U.S.

54% of those surveyed said the government had done a good job in handling the virus, while 71% were confident the government could prevent a widespread outbreak — somewhat contradicting the punditry that decried the public’s despair in the face of institutional failures.

Yeah, the American people know that the President has got this.

But hey, nice try Fox news.

The truth behind Sarah Palin's "stalker."

A number of you voiced your doubt that the story about Kristen Cole and Palin having to swear out a restraining order to protect themselves against a dangerous lunatic was on the up and up, and as usual you were correct.

From The Times-Tribune:

Mr. Christy and his family say things aren't as they seem.

Father Craig Christy said the matter began when Shawn, without his parents' knowledge, left home, boarded a Greyhound bus and headed to Washington, D.C., in November 2008.

Mr. Christy ran out of money and had nowhere to go but said he felt safe around the White House and decided to hang out there, his father said. Eventually, he drew the attention of the Secret Service and was questioned by agents but not arrested.

That December, Mr. Christy said his cell phone started clicking and making strange noises. Also, when he used a public computer at a library in Tamaqua, it started malfunctioning. He said he began to call the Secret Service to see if the agency had somehow altered his phone and the computer.

After getting no response, Mr. Christy said he tried to reach Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin and left repeated messages. Still with no response, he began to send them threats, thinking that would get him the attention he needed to get his phone fixed. He also called the White House for action but said people who spoke to him began laughing at and antagonizing him.

Mr. Christy claims he turned himself into authorities in Washington for the threatening message but was never charged. Soon, his parents were involved, and Secret Service agents visited the family at their home and interviewed Mr. Christy on June 18. He still wasn't charged with a crime but was ordered to undergo a psychological review, according to his father, though Shawn was found to have no problems.

Mr. Christy said he admitted making threats to Mr. McCain, Mrs. Palin and President Barack Obama. He also admitted to trying to contact Mrs. Palin through Ms. Cole, Mrs. Palin's family, her attorney and the Alaska governor's office. He said he found the numbers by looking them up in online phone directories. Shawn also said he called Mrs. Palin's office in 2008 because he was a supporter and wanted to know more about her views. When explaining how he contacted Ms. Cole from a phone with an Alaska area code, Mr. Christy said he purchased a pay-by-the-minute phone for which he could select the number and area code. He said he called Mrs. Palin's mother from the same number in an effort to reach the politician.

Mr. Christy said Wasilla police called him and read the protective orders over the phone to him, and his father said the family received hard copies of the documents, which were delivered by McAdoo police Tuesday.

McAdoo police declined comment Wednesday.

Craig Christy said his son was never in Alaska. Mr. Christy said he purchased a one-way ticket this spring, but never went on the trip because he couldn't afford a return ticket.

Mr. Christy said he sent Mrs. Palin receipts for a gun but that it wasn't intended as a threat. Rather, he sent the receipt from when he sold the gun to a gun shop in Tamaqua in April to let Mrs. Palin know that he wasn't going to shoot her. He claims he didn't contact Mrs. Palin, Cole or anyone else after July 3; according to court documents, he did contact Cole again.

Mr. Christy said the religious talk mentioned in the court orders was misconstrued. He said when he referred to being evil, he meant that all humans are considered sinners by God. He said he was raised Christian and wouldn't actually hurt someone.

Karen Christy is now concerned for her family's safety, and claims they've been the targets of threats.

"I wish honestly, I could go back and it didn't happen," Mr. Christy said.

Palin and Cole have requested a long-term protective order. A hearing on that request is scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 13 before Anchorage Master John E. Duggan, according to the Frontiersman.

Craig said the family, all of whom receive treatment related to Lyme disease, can't afford to hire an attorney or fly to Alaska for the hearing, so Shawn will have to participate by phone.

The 20-day protective order prohibits Mr. Christy from following, approaching, confronting, watching or otherwise staking or threatening to stalk or assault Mrs. Palin.

If Mr. Christy violates the order, he can be arrested without a warrant.

I will admit that Mr. Christy's behaviors were more than just a little bizarre, and that both Kristen Cole and Palin had every right to be a little freaked out by his attention.  I also believe they were within their rights to get a restraining order, even though Christy claims he did not contact either Palin or Cole after July 3.

However what Sarah Palin should NEVER have done is go to the press and blow this thing so far out of proportion.  She could have quietly filed this restraining order with the court, and instructed her attorney to simply say the matter was taken care of and they had no further comment, and left it at that.  The kid was never going to be a real threat and he did NOT need to have his life, and that of his family, turned upside down by Sarah Palin's need to play the victim.

She completely overreacted to this JUST like she overrated to Joe McGinniss moving in next door, to David Letterman making a joke about her daughter, and to the audience of DWTS booing her!

She cannot do anything quietly and out of the media spotlight.  Every single thing has to be this giant drama filled episode where she plays the poor damsel in distress while the hapless protagonist is portrayed as evil, deviant, and dangerous. (And yes I speak from experience.)

It absolutely boggles my mind that there are actually people in our country who believe THIS WOMAN would make a good President of the United States.
