Donald Trump is killing romance. Is there nothing this guy cannot ruin?

Me, killing romance? You know that's not true, right Ivanka?
Courtesy of The Sacramento Bee:

In the treacherous, amusing and sometimes rewarding world of online dating, Donald Trump has become the newest way to find – or reject – a romantic match.

“Did you vote for or do you support Trump? Then I’m not your man. It would never work,” one user says in the opener to his bio on Tinder, a popular mobile dating platform that boasts 26 million matches per day.

“Trump voters please swipe left, and go to your room and think about what you’ve done,” wrote another Tinder user, referring to the way to dismiss a potential date in the app.

“What I’m looking for . . . well, in this crazy day and age, first and foremost, someone who did not vote for Trump,” says a profile on Bumble, a dating app in which women make the first move.

Since his election, the president has become a new measure of compatibility – much like someone’s age, religion, wanting kids or simply finding things in common. Dating, online and off, is more supercharged with politics than it’s ever been, said online dating experts who specialize in matchmaking.

“His presidency has created this new deal-breaker,” said Laurie Davis Edwards, a relationship coach and founder of the website eflirtexpert.com.

“I’ve never seen it like this before, where people say ‘no’ to Trump supporters, or they only want to date other Trump supporters,” she said. “It tells me that people are valuing politics much higher as a preference than they were before. ... It’s another example of how massively our dating culture has changed over the past four years, partly because of politics and also because of technology.”

This may seem a little tongue in cheek, but would YOU date a Trump supporter?

Because I most certainly would not!

In fact I would take it even further than that and reject a potential employee who voted for Trump.

In my mind that speaks to your intellect and your judgment.

Trump supporters may have all kinds of excuses for why they cast their vote, but not one of them would satisfy me.

They had access to the same information that all of us had, so if there was not enough reason contained in all of those facts to persuade them to reject his candidacy then they are a lost cause and cannot be trusted with anything of any real importance.

President Obama says that Donald Trump is "unfit to be President."

Courtesy of NPR:

President Obama reiterated that he believes Donald Trump is "unfit" to be president, issuing a sharp rebuke of the Republican nominee from the White House East Room on Tuesday.

"Yes, I think the Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president," Obama said in response to a question from a reporter during a news conference with Lee Hsien Loong, the prime minister of Singapore. "I said so last week, and he keeps on proving it."

Obama then pivoted to question why Republican leaders, who have denounced Trump's response to a handful of issues, have still endorsed him. The latest being Trump's flap with the Khan family, the parents of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, who was killed in Iraq in 2004. Khizr Khan, Humayun's father, criticized Trump at the Democratic convention, questioning whether Trump had read the Constitution and charging that the New York real-estate developer had sacrificed little.

"[T]he question I think they have to ask themselves is, if you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?" Obama said in particular of Republican leaders like House Speaker Paul Ryan, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and 2008 nominee and Arizona Sen. John McCain.

"What does this say about your party that this is your standard-bearer?" Obama continued. "This isn't a situation where you have an episodic gaffe. This is daily and weekly where they are distancing themselves from statements he is making. There has to be a point at which you say, this isn't somebody I can support to be president of the United States, even if he purports to be a member of my party. The fact that this has not happened makes these denunciations ring hollow."

Damn! I think it's President Obama who has taken off the kid gloves here.

And seriously, who can blame him?

As evidenced by Trump's response to the President's statement on Twitter. (Of course.)

That tweet links to Trump's Facebook page which says the following:

STATEMENT IN RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT OBAMA'S FAILED LEADERSHIP

"Obama-Clinton have single-handedly destabilized the Middle East, handed Iraq, Libya and Syria to ISIS, and allowed our personnel to be slaughtered at Benghazi. (I'm sorry WHO destabilized the Middle East?) Then they put Iran on the path to nuclear weapons. Then they allowed dozens of veterans to die waiting for medical care that never came.

Hillary Clinton put the whole country at risk with her illegal email server (Nope, that's a lie.), deleted evidence of her crime, and lied repeatedly about her conduct which endangered us all. They released criminal aliens into our country who killed one innocent American after another -- like Sarah Root and Kate Steinle -- and have repeatedly admitted migrants later implicated in terrorism. They have produced the worst recovery since the Great Depression. They have shipped millions of our best jobs overseas to appease their global special interests. They have betrayed our security and our workers, and Hillary Clinton has proven herself unfit to serve in any government office.

She is reckless with her emails, reckless with regime change, and reckless with American lives. Our nation has been humiliated abroad and compromised by radical Islam brought onto our shores. We need change now."

-Donald J. Trump

Okay well most of that is either patently untrue or has nothing to do with President Obama.

Trump followed that up with this tweet:
And there we have it.

I guess if you legitimately think that President Obama is the"worst president in history of the United States" you would certainly be ignorant enough to vote for this orange tinted tiny fingered vulgarian.

Bristol Palin is upset that people think she's an idiot. Is she just figuring this out now?

Courtesy of Bristol's Pikore account.
Courtesy of Brancy's blog:

Yesterday was a normal day at work, overall I LOVE my job, I had just gotten back from a family vacation – I’m seven months pregnant – I cannot wait for my baby girl – Tripp has been such an angel lately and at such an enjoyable stage – my life is really falling into it’s own right now – and I really am happy – of course I had a smile on my face and an extra “pep to my step” .. I try to be as overly friendly as I can be at work, you never know what you’re going to run into during the day..

I took a patient back to an exam room, and set up for for a procedure the dr was about to do. (I promise I really do work a normal job, and have for a while.) I was making small talk with the patient while filing out notes… She asked how long I had been there. I told her around 6.5 years, but I had left for school, and done other short term “things” but always came back… She said she had never seen me there before. She goes on to say that she had heard “Bristol Palin had worked there,” and I just kind of laughed. I didn’t say a word. (I never do! DWTS/reality shows – that kind of stuff is so embarrassing for me!!!) Anyways, what was strange about this incident was that the patient continued.

She then told me that, “it was a long time ago, when her mom was running. She didn’t work here long.” I still didn’t say a word. She then tells me, “but Bristol Palin is such an idiot!”

I about died!!!!!!!!!!!! I should’ve asked why she said that. (Okay can French leave some exclamation points for the rest of us? I mean we have blogging to do as well.)

I’m sure she would’ve said something like, “well she’s such a whore” .. That’s all people can revert back to, you know?

All I said back was, “Well actually, I am Bristol Palin and I have worked here, and I think that’s pretty rude you would say something like that.”

 Her face went white!!!

Like I’m sure the biggest foot you could’ve ever put in your mouth just happened!! (WTF?)

I told her the dr. would be right in and closed the door.

The patient ended up apologizing – and even sent flowers that same day! I know she felt terrible, and I know she had no reason to call me an idiot. (Well.......)

I couldn’t believe it after it had all happened.. But the last day I’ve been sitting back and thinking about how screwed up our world can be.

We have so many opinions of people we don’t even know.. We have so much hate coming from what we’ve heard or seen online. It’s unbelievable.

Nancy French goes on to suggest that the only one who can judge us is God.

And then she kind of closes it out with this:

So when moms are criticizing other moms about not being “organic enough” or not volunteering at the school enough.. Or girls criticizing other girls on how they dress, or how their eyebrows look, or guys criticizing guys about who knows -whatever guys criticize each other about .. It should all be like a foot in our mouth.

Life is too short to be so damn judgmental.

It’s not fun to hear about yourself, or feel like you have to superficially impress the people who are around you.

I kid you not. This is word for word what was on Bristol Palin's ghostwritten blog.

You know, the blog that has judged and attacked Miley Cyrus, Hillary Clinton, President Obama, and Liberals, just to name a few, virtually every day of its existence.

Now first off I am not at all convinced that this exchange ever even happened, or if it did that it happened in this way. After all if she was aware that Bristol had worked there, and then saw a pregnant brunette, you would think she could put two and two together.

However giving Bristol/Nancy the benefit of the doubt the reason the woman called Bristol an idiot would not necessarily have been because she is a former abstinence spokesperson who is currently single and knocked up with another unnamed man's child.

Though that might be enough of course.

It could also have been because of reports like this, or this, or this, where other news outlets report on the the stupid things written on Bristol's ghostwritten blog and attribute them to her.

Go figure.

As I have said multiple times her mother is using SarahPAC funds to permanently damage her daughter's reputation, and this could very well be the result of that.

I hate to break it to Bristol, but this is now her life. If she wants to change it, then she needs to start working on that today.

However I would not be at all surprised that this is not the last time that she hears somebody refer to her as an idiot.

Especially if she comes here.

Recent Gallup polling shows that Americans are moving left on a whole slew of issues.

Courtesy of Gallup:

Americans are more likely now than in the early 2000s to find a variety of behaviors morally acceptable, including gay and lesbian relations, having a baby outside of marriage and sex between an unmarried man and woman. Moral acceptability of many of these issues is now at a record-high level.

The upward progression in the percentage of Americans seeing these issues as morally acceptable has varied from year to year, but the overall trend clearly points toward a higher level of acceptance of a number of behaviors. In fact, the moral acceptability ratings for 10 of the issues measured since the early 2000s are at record highs.

Of course as you can see from the graphic Americans are not becoming more accepting of EVERYTHING.

Americans have become less likely to say that two issues are morally acceptable: the death penalty and medical testing on animals. But Americans' decreased acceptance of these practices actually moves them in a more liberal direction.

This change may have much to do with the fact that fewer and fewer Americans self identify as religious and are no longer accepting the definitions of morality forced upon them by their local church, temple, or synagogue.

And in another recent study researchers found that one of the main driving forces behind this new morality, the millenials, are not simply embracing the left due to their age:

"Unlike previous studies, ours is able to show that millennials' lower religious involvement is due to cultural change, not to millennials being young and unsettled."

In other words Americans are becoming freethinkers, and with that comes a less judgmental attitude towards others, a more personal sense of morality, and far less shaming for what happens between two consenting adults in the bedroom.

Damn, it is a good time to be alive!

Bristol Palin, or at least the woman who plays Bristol Palin on the internet, is horrified by mother of 47 year old Down syndrome son saying she wishes she had aborted him.

Okay so just for fun I tool a jaunt over to the Brancy's blog to see what's up in the land of denial.

As it turns out Nancy French and Bristol, assuming Bristol has read what it printed under her name, are very, very upset at an article in the Daily Mail about a 69 year old woman's heartbreaking admission that she wishes she had never had her Down syndrome son, now 47 years old.

Here is what Brancy had to say:

I can’t even believe what I just read. Gillian Relf, the mother of a 47-year-old man with Down syndrome, publicly said she wishes she’d had an abortion. Her son has made her life so difficult, she wishes he had never been allowed to live.

Can you actually claim to love someone and wish they were dead at the same time?

If that’s not horrifying enough, she spoke “in support of the 92 per cent of women who choose to abort their babies after discovering they have Down’s syndrome.” Parents of children with Down syndrome (including my own parents!) have shown the greatest demonstration of selfless love I’ve ever seen. To read this mom’s statements that are so opposite is just stunning.

Actually I think that any person who has sat at the bedside of a dying loved one knows exactly what it is like to love somebody and wish them dead at the same time. At some point their pain is just impossible to endure and all you want is for them to find peace, even if it means you will never have them in your life again.

Brancy goes on to say this:

My family probably wouldn’t have chosen to have a child with Down syndrome. But God gave us Trig – and our family wouldn’t be complete without him! Now, I realize that kids with Down syndrome are amazing and wonderful – we are soooooo blessed to have him in our lives.

Actually that is a lie. Her family absolutely DID choose to have Trig in their lives. He is not Sarah's child, and I have no reason to believe that he is Bristol's child, so yes he was absolutely brought into the family as a choice. (Hopefully I will have more on that at a later date.)

By the way the woman, Gillian Relf, anticipated this response and this is what she said in the article:

But I'd challenge any one of them to walk a mile in the shoes of mothers like me, saddled for life as I am, with a needy, difficult, exasperating child who will never grow up, before they judge us. They should experience how it feels to parent a grown man, who is no more able to care for himself than a toddler - and at a time of life when your children should, all things being equal, be taking care of you. They should know how it feels to live every single day under a crushing weight of guilt. They should know how it feels to watch Stephen's constant suffering and witness the almost daily destruction wreaked on all our lives.

As you all know I actually work with children and parents who are dealing with Down syndrome, FAS, ADHD, Reactive Attachment Disorder, PTSD,  Mental Retardation, etc., and I can tell you that wishing not to have had a child with such complicated and disruptive issues is almost universal among the parents.

They don't always say it out loud to support staff, but they certainly discuss it in private, and sometimes you can simply see it written all over their faces.

The idea that all babies are a gift from God and that HE will provide you with the strength to deal with any complications which might arise is happy holy horseshit.

The truth is that sometimes these parents simply have to give up and walk away, and put their children into residential facilities or foster homes. Sometime they mistreat their children out of sheer frustration, even though they realize it is not the child's fault. And sometimes they contemplate, or actually follow through with, plans to take their own lives. (One of the worse cases I ever dealt with.)

We have already seen that Sarah is having significant trouble parenting Trig, and let me tell you that is only going to get worse, especially when he hits his teen years.

I predict right here and now that Trig ends up in a facility, either in state or out, that will care for him within the next ten years or so.

Simply put neither Sarah Palin, or any of her family members, have the intelligence or patience to deal with a Down syndrome child for the long haul.

And that is why judging this poor woman, who has spent the last 47 years selflessly putting her child's needs above her own, should never be done by the likes of Bristol Palin.

OR her internet doppelganger.

Evangelical Christian preaches that there are no Christian liars, fornicators, homosexuals, or thieves. Gee, who does that leave?

Courtesy of Raw Story:

The outspoken evangelical Christian uploaded video of himself preaching to attendees of a Pearl Jam concert in Charlotte, North Carolina last week.

“If you claim to be a Christian, you better check your life,” he shouted. “There is no such thing as a Christian liar, there is no such thing as a Christian thief, there is no such thing as a Christian fornicator, there is no such thing as a Christian pro-choicer, there is no such thing as a Christian homosexual.”

“There is no such thing as a Christian gossipy-mouthed woman,” he continued, as a woman confronted him. “There is no such thing as a Christian foul-mouthed, immodestly dressed woman.”

“Come on over, we are offering free judgment,” Fisher added as the woman stormed off.

Uh hang on just a minute.

There are NO fornicators, liars, or thieves who can call themselves "Christians?"

Has anybody told this lady yet?

"Don't care, still writing the book."
