What do Alaska Republicans, Ron Paul supporters, and suspected domestic terrorists have in common? I lot more than most people realize.

Lately the political world of Alaska has been abuzz about the overthrow of the old GOP machine in favor of the Ron Paul Republican machine.  However the question must be asked, exactly WHO are the cogs in the Ron Paul Republican machine.

In my earlier post I mentioned the Sarah Palin connection to the takeover of the GOP, but, believe it or not, that might NOT be the most troubling connection.

You see the guy that took over Republican Chairman Randy Ruedrich's old job is a man by the name of Russ Millette.  Who is Russ Millette you might ask?

Here is what the Alaska Dispatch had to say about Millette:

Millete is little known in Alaska’s political circles, although he said in an Alaska Dispatch interview that he’s been working in politics since 1964, the year he volunteered for Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater’s campaign.

Millete came to Alaska in 1975, left the state in the 1990s, and returned in 2005. His jobs have ranged from substitute teacher to youth minister. The choice to enter politics as a party official, he said, was the result of a “tug from God.”

Sounds fairly harmless don't you think?

New GOP Chairman Russ Millette
Certainly looks harmless.  So no problem right?

Not so fast.

Here is what the Mudflats dug up on Mr. Millette:

Russ Millette, 67, has been elected to replace Ruedrich. In addition to being the heir apparent of the dynasty, he is/was also a “team member” of a group called GiveMeLiberty.org (the We the People project), at least as recently as 2009. One of the other team members is… wait for it… one Mr. Schaeffer Cox, who is currently a disgruntled “sovereign citizen” awaiting trial for plotting to kill federal judges.

What? Russ Millette is connected to Schaeffer Cox? The SAME Schaeffer Cox currently standing trial on charges of domestic terrorism?  Yup, he sure is.

That should not be terribly surprising as Schaeffer Cox has been a Ron Paul supporter for quite some time now, and was even interviewed about Paul in February of 2008:

"I think Ron Paul is awesome," says Schaeffer Cox, a 23-year-old who leads an unofficial group supporting the Republican presidential candidate here. "He's not the most dynamic, rock-star kind of guy -- but he's got ideas."

Now apparently sometime after this interview, and after the failed Joe Miller/Sarah Palin Republican party coup in March of that year, Schaeffer Cox became a paid Ron Paul staff member. Something which I learned from an inside source and which you can confirm by clicking on the Give Me Liberty website, and then clicking the "details" button next to Francis "Schaeffer" Cox's name, where you will read this:

General Contractor/Owner of Residential Construction Company
Student of Hayek, Mises, Rothbard
Led Ron Paul campaign for Alaska
Founded the 2nd Amendment Task Force which now has 7,000 members
Founder/Board Member of Interior Alaska Conservative Coalition

As I understand it, part of Schaeffer Cox's responsibilities as a paid staffer was to recruit new members into the Ron Paul campaign for 2012. One of those recruits, you guessed it, was Russ Millette.

So apparently Millette did NOT enter politics as a result of a "tug from God" but instead as the result of a "shove from Schaeffer Cox."

In the words of my source, "Ron Paul did not just take over the Republican party, Schaeffer Cox just did." I was also told that Millette is not the ONLY Cox operative currently working inside today's Alaska GOP.

Never a dull moment in Alaska politics now is there?  And isn't it even more interesting that the other well know name attached to this GOP takeover was none other than Sarah Palin butt boy Joe Miller?

And as we have already demonstrated there is definitely a connection between Joe Miller and Cox, though the depth of that connection has not yet been revealed.

Stray tuned folks I think we have only seen the tip of this particular iceberg.

That's really interesting! I imagine that Alaska is small enough that these connections are much more transparent than they would be in a more populous state. And, therefore, more difficult to hide. That "tug from God" is irksome language. I wish conservatives would leave God out of their nasty politics. I could just as easily say that God inspired my support of local firefighters in the northern Michigan community where I live. But I haven't because God did not direct me - concern for public safety and for fair labor practices did.

I interviewed Ayn Rand in the early '70s and have read all her books.
Please note that she was a devote and undeviating ATHEIST. She did not believe in God, any God, and scorned those who did.

So all the libertarians who profess to be Ayn Rand supporters should know that she would disown any group that talked about God giving tugs, opening doors, or offering inspiration.

The Conservative Right has to choose who and what it believes in. At this point, they should leave Rand out of the discussion. She
was a tough dame, and she wouldn't allow her thoughts and opinions to be misrepresented as they have been.

Graduated on line and Attended Univ. of Alaska but dropped out to form a small home construction company. Wonder if this was Todd's buddies that helped him build the monstrosity on Lake Lucille on the weekends. Perhaps one of the boys day jobs was delivering building materials to the Ice Rink? Wonder if the rink had cost over runs around the cost of the Lake Lucille home? Are their other homes built around that same time with those windows and glass walls on the balcony? I have so little respect for many of the Republicans that have, or are now serving in Alaska on the state and locals levels. They include: Lisa Murkowski, her Dad, Frank, Governor Parnell, the current head of the House in the Alaska Legislature, Sarah Palin (has provided the biggest embarrassment to our state!), Don Young (another major embarassment that is now being proven), the current Mayor Sullivan of Anchorage, Andrew Halcro (who writes a blog and won't let you respond to his commentary!) as well as Starr and Ossiander on the Anchorage Assembly.

I especially think their supposed candidate for President of the United States, Mitt Romney, to be a horrid example of an American! All he does is lie, lie, lie - all of which has been proven via previous media releases. He would scare the hell out of me to actually run the United States of America!

But, back to Alaska - I think the Republican party is going to be in a mess for awhile and strongly suggest the Democratic party move to run good candidates where able for the next election cycle!

I really don't think God would want these crazies to be representing him. Did anyone fact-check this Millette's resume? Is it the water? The cold weather? What makes these people so crazy. If even sane Alaskans (the ones who realize 90+ % of Alaska's money-making resources are on Federal land, thus, belong to We ALL the People) wish to secede from the Union, they'll have to reimburse the Federal government for the value of the land and resources, re-negotiate with the oil/gas companies from a position of weakness, close Ft. Wainright and the other military bases, and invest in their own border security.

I'll bet Vladimir Putin would love for you folks to be successful in seceding. That's why it'll never happen, so get used to it.

Our State Constitution states that citizens of Alaska collectively own our oil resource, so the oil belongs to Alaska and Alaskans, not the Federal Gov't. Our annual Permanent Fund Dividend check is cut from the shared profits from the investment of our oil income.

We have always had a very persuasive group of Legislators in Washington that have made certain that plenty of tax dollars come our way. In exchange, we share our resources, with you, the Lower 48.

I have a feeling that even if Alaska was no longer part of America we'd still sell the same percentage of our oil to the US. Keep in mind, we don't just do business with the US, we ship oil and gas to Asia as well, so really our market is global. Why we would ever consider selling our oil to already oil rich middle eastern countries makes no sense. We sell first to the US and then to Asia. The middle east has plenty of oil, as a matter of fact, that's why we've been at war over there since the early 90's; they have oil and we want it!

As far as Sarah Palin goes, she is done politically in this State and could never be elected for any office here ever again. She's a crazy person who quit her elected position, or didn't you know that? She can run around and try to stir up crap with the AIP or her militia buddies, but she's a fringe-player at best now.

yes please secede but I have no idea where you would fish though. The waters surrounding the Alaskan coast are USA waters, deemed so by the UN, it would likely take decades to get any sea water rights.. But please secede, one less welfare state for the rest of us to support. Please pay for your own military and coast guard, it would lower the fed debt by quite a bit.
BTW once oil is on the world market, you do not get to "pick and choose" whom to sell it to and without the world market your oil would be worth less than salmon rotting after spawning.

Actually, the Federal Government does own quite a bit of land in Alaska (69%), and the mineral / water rights that go with them. http://bigthink.com/ideas/21343

So also do the Native Tribes and Corporations (around 20%).

If the State of Alaska were to become its own sovereign government, they would not only have to deal with boarder and military issues, etc. but they'd have 229 Alaskan Native Tribes to negotiate with. The Fed's have gov-to-gov relationships with the Tribes. The State doesn't recognize Tribal Sovereignty. That might get a bit sticky.

    9. And good luck, anonymous Alaskan posting above, with "your" resources (which are on state lands, not federal lands) when the United States owns 65% of the land in Alaska. I'd love to see you AIP - secessionist types try to manage that!

Further more, Cox claimed to head up the volunteer portion of the Ron Paul campagien in 2008, there is no evidence anywhere that he was ever a PAID staffer, regardless of his personal claim of title. Stop it, Jesse. Russ Millette is a good and decent man and he has nothing to do with that nut job Schaefer Cox. I am a member of the Republican Party and have met the man. He is heads and shoulders better than der Fuehrer Randy Rudrich. And when you mention bad old' RR, don't forget to mention that he sent the entire Republican Party treasury to his trusted pals in Juneau.
