Mitt Romney flew in his own black people to pose as supporters during NAACP appearance.

Yesterday I covered Mitt Romney's embarrassing appearance at the NAACP.

At the time I sort of gave him the benefit of the doubt that he was just a dipshit who did not realize how his clumsy remarks would go over in front of a crowd of people who he had nothing in common with.

Now as most of you are undoubtedly aware, I am pretty cynical when it comes to the Republican party these days, but as it turns out I was being far too fair with Mitt Romney who may in fact have come to the NAACP with the expressed desire, not to earn support from the African American crowd, but to cement his credibility with the racist Right Wing of his party.

In other words Romney went to the event in order to essentially present himself as the plantation owner talking down to the slaves who should feel honored that he deigned to even speak to them as if they actually deserved his attention. He WANTED to be booed, have it captured on film, and then use that to show how THOSE PEOPLE disrespected him due to his color.

And in order to convince the white television audience (Who would be hearing of the event after the fact on the news.) that he was genuine in his desire to reach out to the poor, less fortunate black folk, he sprinkled a few of his own throughout the audience to clap and cheer for him.

This from Politicususa:

Romney said, “I spoke with a number of African-American leaders after the event and they said, you know a lot of folks don’t want to say they’re not going to be voting for Barack Obama, but they’re disappointed in his lack of policies to improve our schools. Disappointed in urban policies, disappointed in the economy. 14.4% rate of unemployment among African-Americans today. The president has not been able to get the job done. People want to see someone who can get the economy going, so I expect to get African-American votes.”

Romney also claimed that he got a standing ovation at the end of his speech.

Many of Romney’s claims were debunked by Senior Vice President for Advocacy and Policy and the Director of the Washington Bureau of the NAACP, Hilary Shelton who said that the only African Americans Romney met with after his speech were those that he brought with him. Mr. Shelton explained that Mitt Romney flew in his own African-American supporters who were not affiliated with the NAACP, in order to have some people in the crowd cheering for him.

Romney did not meet with any of the convention rank and file after his speech, and only met with the African-Americans that he planted in the crowd.

Here are images of the REAL NAACP members who were listening to Mittens that day, courtesy of Buzzfeed:

You know just when I think I have seen the most disgusting display of dirty politics imaginable, the Republicans demonstrate there are no depths to which they will NOT sink to in order to win an election.  Whether it be suggesting that John McCain's adopted daughter was really the result of an interracial affair, creating voter ID laws to keep minorities from voting, or even outright stealing an election, there is quite literally NOTHING that is too sleazy for this political party.

And as it turns out Willard Mitt Romney might be the sleaziest of them all.

Which is why we absolutely MUST do everything in our power to get out the vote, fight the misinformation about the President at every turn, and provide as much financial support, in the face of the hundreds of millions coming to the Romney campaign through corporate donors to various SuperPACs, as possible.

Because I don't know about you but I simply cannot imagine how badly this country will suffer under a Romney Presidency. However if you want some idea let me introduce you to the Mormon White Horse Prophesy.

As soon as I heard the bs about his meeting with "African-American Leaders," my first thought was: names. Who were these people? Let's have some reporters follow up with them? Why wouldn't Romney want them to back up his story? Easy - because it's a lie. This guy lies about everything, and yet the MSM can't say that because that would be "liberal bias."

  2. Just when I'm certain Mitt Romney is purgatory in human form- basically just "there", I'm reminded that he is in fact an evil man pursuing a dictatorship, not a presidency.

I'm beginning to think his "blah-ness" is cultivated to help cover up his overwhelming stank of corruption and greed.

I agree with your depiction of Romney's true inner core - covered up with a deceptively boring exterior.

He truly seems to embody the stereotype of a wolf in sheep's clothing.

There's another article by the same guy who originally broke this (David Corn at Mother Jones) stating Rmoney was at Bain and was in charge when they were outsourcing jobs to China. This is a direct opposite of the ad Rmoney released today saying president Obama is a liar for saying what is now known to be documented proof.
      Sucks to be Rmoney, always.

    2. David Corn is a bit goofy sometimes in his role as guest commenter on MSNBC, but he's been doing some great work in the past few years, including writing a fine book on Obama's first term, and being the first, right after she was nominated as VP, to request Sarah Palin's official e-mails during her term as Governor. Remember, it only took TWO YEARS after she QUIT for the e-mails to be released.

Romney lied either on his FEC filing or his SEC filing. And despite what some in the media are saying, he couldn't have been a figurehead, because he signed at least 5 significant deals as CEO in the 1999-2002 time period, and it's BS that it takes a company that specializes in takeovers 4 years to change their SEC filings. He also took a salary of AT LEAST $100,000 a year from Bain in that time period. He told the FEC 1999 because Bain bought Stericycle (the medical waste management company that specialized in aborted fetuses) in the 1999-2002 window. But he told the SEC 2002 because he was the one signing the deals until then, and because he was trying to maintain his Massachusetts residency for when he ran for governor. There was even a big ruckus about him not maintaining residency by having lived in Utah for the Olympics committee, when he was announcing his gubernatorial campaign, with hearings and everything.

The takeaway: Romney has almost certainly committed a felony - it's just a question of which kind.

Romney: ‘If They Want More Stuff From Government, Tell Them To Go Vote For The Other Guy’

Mitt Romney responded to being booed at the NAACP annual convention Wednesday by saying that those who want more “free stuff” from the government should vote for President Obama, reports MSNBC.

“Remind them of this,” Romney said at a fundraiser in Hamilton, Montana after his NAACP address Wednesday. “If they want more stuff from government, tell them to go vote for the other guy—more free stuff. But don’t forget, nothing is really free.”

    2. Knocking them out of the park - amazing speech, the President chose his VP well (unlike John McCain). The crowd roared and gathered to the front when it was over - cameras everywhere. Mitt is about to learn - there are some things that money can't buy.

There was some sadness in that speech - all the things fought for 50 years ago - and now the wars for women, for health care, for minorities, for the right to vote - all have to be won again.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous9:22 AM

And preach, he did, drawing disappointed boos when he foreshadowed the end of his speech, saying “Let me close, my friends,” then raising the specter of a Romney-appointed Supreme Court. “Folks, this election, in my view, is a fight for the heart and soul of America,” he said.

“These guys aren’t bad guys,” he continued, “they just have a fundamentally different view. The best way to sum up the President’s view, my view, and I think your view, is we see America where, in the words of the scripture, what you do unto the least of my brethren you do unto me.”

The crowd goes wild. “As President Obama says, we are our brother’s keeper, we are our sister’s keeper, we have an obligation. and as I said, I believe this election will come down to character, conviction, and vision, and it will not surprise you to know, I don’t think it’s even a close call. So it’s time, it’s time for the NAACP to do what it’s always done, what it did for me, a young kid in Delaware, inspire a generation to stand up, make our case, stand our ground, and make real our vision for America. God bless you all, and may God protect our troops.”

It doesn't matter if we believe in the White Horse Prophecy, it only matters that Mitt and his monied supporters do.

Few people realize how truly powerful the Mormon church has become. They are invested in almost all profitable aspects of this country - including what they would regard as sinful - Los Vegas. They are focused on gaining more control. Mitt is currently their best shot at taking over government. I know it sounds crazy to some, but read the damn article and do more research. I find Romney's act of busing people in to be one of desperation and if he expected to be booed, why would he give a speech in front of them. This obviously is not what he expected, and he's now resorted to lying to protect his image. His statements about receiving free stuff from the government is obviously aimed at the racists who believe all black people are "lazy" and is irresponsible and apprehensible. Hopefully, the moderate Republicans will see this and speak up to let him know it's not responsible of him for anyone to say what he did. Naturally, Fox would try to protect him by allowing him to come on air to help him out, but I bet they didn't ask him about his off shore bank accounts.

Gryphen, yeah, you just go right ahead and mock Mittens, if you want to.

But let me tell you something, buddy boy! Next January YOU will still be the socialist owner of this defunct blog while Milliard Mittens "Mitt" Rmoney will be sitting on the glider on the front porch of his little cottage on the shore of the mighty Great Salt Lake with a delicious mug of hot cocoa in his hand, waving to people driving by, secure in the knowledge that he will ALWAYS, ALWAYS be America's HANDSOMEST failed presidential candidate. Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!!
