Big budget "Left Behind" movie coming to a theater near you.

Holy crap! You know it's a good movie when it has Nicholas Cage in it, right?

This of course follows this weird Christian movie renaissance that we have witnessed in 2014

We had the abysmal God is not Dead, the Noah movie starring Russell Crowe, Heaven is for Real, and I understand there are several more coming to a theater near you in the coming months.

Of course the Left Behind book series has already inspired quite a few straight to video movies, and a few low budget theatrical releases, but none of them featured the guaranteed box office appeal of Nicholas Cage.

No this is big time folks.

And remember folks this is the Dominionist Seven Mountains mandate to take over the world by dominating the cultural peaks. Arts and Entertainment is the fourth peak.

And now that they have Nicholas Cage, they will be unstoppable.

  4. Have any of the movies you mention been successful? I mean, earning lots of money? I know they only need to make their expenses back, but I haven't seen much about any of them except for Noah, and that kind of came and went without much ado.

  5. Cage was capable of greatness, maybe still is, but after the Oscar for "Leaving Las Vegas" he sold out to big-money actioners and has done nothing to test and stretch his talent since. I'll be looking forward to avoiding this one.

Rumours are Cage is broke from gambling and vices. No one asks him to be in their movies; they probably got him on the cheap.

How odd that he starred with Meryl Streep in "Adaptation". That films' premise centered around Darwin's theory of evolution as exemplified by orchids.

Oh I can see an uptick in phone calls to the Suicide Prevention Lines with people wanting to be the first not to be left behind. One of my relatives actually believes this crap with every fiber of her being. Her reasoning is that it's "in god's time", not "man made artificial time".
Hey, any ferrari, porsche or jaguar folks who believe this stuff, can I have your keys? You won't be needing them. I promise I'll take good care of it!

OMG Cage is one of the worst actors ever; this might just get him nominated for another Razzie. When's the last time you saw him in a movie? I'm sure he'd do just about anything for a paycheck these days.

He is an excellent actor. His early work is very good.
He has 3 movies comin out in 2014 and 5! in 2015. That's not has been.material. Moonstruck? Raising Arizona? Windtalkers? Great work there
Watch Racing with the Moon.- touching performance.

I think this is simply a paycheck for him if he is in gambling trouble.

So, religion will sell itself out to get its message across?

Doesn't sound like much of a reason to "believe" if you ask me.

I've always thought this line of persuasion suffered from inadequate branding. I mean, I could never remember, are the Left Behind the lucky ones, or are the ones Sucked Up the good ones? And just exactly where do they go? And b/4 we decide which team we want to be on, where can we verify we'll have:
1)high speed internet, 2) Netflix, and 3) an open bar? Otherwise, I think I'd just as soon stay here.

This will just be another Nickolas Cage movie I won't go see. His only good movies were early in his career. Valley Girl and Peggy Sue got married. I haven't been a fan if his since Face Off in 1997. Dreadful movie, and it's been downhill for him since.

I won't go see it because I can't Stand Nickolas Gage.. Look on IMBD and see the movies he's been in. Hasn't been a financial hit in 10 years. He's a Washed up actor desperate for work, any work, and will apparently be in any movie. He's been in several straight to video movies lately. won't this just be another horror movie along the lines of any other B supernatural horror movie? Will this be any different than a really bad version of any bad horror movie with religious overtones.

I dunno, I think it's a kinda interesting premise, but I think the reality would be more one of global jubilation at being free at last from those narrow-minded fascists who want to enslave our minds and hold back the reins of human potential.

Of course, if a Christian is writing it, then all the Muslims and Scientologists will also get left behind, so we'd still have that to deal with.

MY version of the story would be that the rapture happens and NOBODY makes the cut. LOL

    Not interested.

Seems to be a lot of hate around this movie. But, I think that most people here have had a poor sampling of the people that call themselves "Christians." To go ahead and get this out of the way, yeah, I am a Christian. The main thing that we are called to do as Christians is to love others. You don't inspire others to get to know God by acting like a hateful bigot...or by judging/condemning others. It's not our job to do so and it is one of the reasons why so many people do not believe. No, I am not perfect, I am not better than anyone else in this world. However, I do believe that Jesus was the son of God and that he died for our sins and rose from the dead. It is not an easy concept for people to believe because you can't see it...or because you just simply have to have scientific evidence and theories to make you believe something is true. There is nothing wrong that. But, for those of you that would rather be left behind...I urge you to look deeper into the rapture...look deeper into God. It is so easy to hold resentment and anger towards people that have made you shy away by forcing you to go to church, force feeding "religion" down your throat, hypocrites, liars, persecuted you, judged you, looked down on you, people that use the name of God to gain fame and money and the list goes on and on and on. God does love you...whether or not you believe he exists...and I love you to. I hope that your next encounter with a true Christian will impact you for the better. As for me...no...I am not a huge fan of Nicholas Cage anymore either...his acting has become like a piece of cardboard...it's always the same mundane acting...but, it's not like I could do much better haha. Take care!

When they make a movie about Mithra and Dionysus, both of whom "died for us and were resurrected" as a trio, then I'll go.
