A little reminder for those who think that Sarah Palin is fit to run the VA. This is how badly she screwed up health programs here in Alaska.

(I had almost forgotten this so thank you to all of you who reminded me.)

Right after Palin quit as Governor, a story broke over at ADN (Now removed) which revealed that she had seriously neglected a program to help elderly Alaskans so badly that it had to be taken over by the Federal Government.

Here is the post I wrote about it back in July 2009:

State programs intended to help disabled and elderly Alaskans with daily life -- taking a bath, eating dinner, getting to the bathroom -- are so poorly managed, the state cannot assure the health and well-being of the people they are supposed to serve, a new federal review found.

The situation is so bad the federal government has forbidden the state to sign up new people until the state makes necessary improvements.

No other state in the nation is under such a moratorium, according to a spokeswoman for the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

In the meantime, frail and vulnerable Alaskans who desperately need the help are struggling. One elderly woman is stuck in a nursing home, for lack of care at home. Another woman, suffering from chronic pain and fatigue, said she's so weak, she often can't even pop dinner into the microwave.

A particularly alarming finding concerns deaths of adults in the programs. In one 2 1/2 year stretch, 227 adults already getting services died while waiting for a nurse to reassess their needs. Another 27 died waiting for their initial assessment, to see if they qualified for help.

When the Feds took it over they managed to fix it right away, but of course not in time to save those 200+ lives.

So if Sarah Palin cannot even manage to run a small program to help the elderly in a sparsely populated state like Alaska, how could she possibly be able to run the whole VA?

(For those who are interested here is Mudflats take on that story, and Shannyn Moore talking to Keith Olbermann about it.)

While we are on the topic of veteran soldiers it should also be noted that when Palin was governor a soldier named Jeremy Morlock wrote her a letter, which she ignored completely:

Web mail from: Mr. Jeremy Morlock
address: 2 bn 1st inf reg bct Ft. Lewis WA 98433
706-662-7266

MESSAGE: Mrs. Sarah Palin rnrnSarah I wish I knew of a better way of getting in contact with you and I know your busy having a whole state to run but, I was writing because I had a question to ask. I guess I'll start off by letting you know where im at with things, being in the Army as an lower enslisted man its hard to get things done, I've been looking in to a regulation we have called a 'compassionate reassignment (AR 614-100).' It stipulates under certian circumstances a soldier can request to move duty stations to help care for family in need . I know you have known my family for some time and I think of you all as friends and you know my mother is now taking care of all the girls by herself while trying to keep a job. I'm not asking for pity for my family or myself, I'm just asking if there is anything you could do to help me with my process of getting home to Alaska to help. My direct chain of comand (team, squad leader) have been trying there best to help with out causeing! problems for them selves but, the fact is that my Unit is not really supporting me and trying to coax me to stay. I appreciate your time in reading this and any help you can offer.rnrn sincerely,rnPFC Morlock, Jeremyrn2/1 INF 5 SBCT

Later Morlock would plead guilty to killing innocent Afghan citizens for sport and posing next to their dead bodies.

They even made a documentary about it.

Could Sarah Palin have prevented this tragedy by personally responding to that letter? A letter that came to her from one of her children's friends?

We'll never know, because she did nothing.

The same nothing that she did to protect those 200+ elderly Alaskans.

And the same nothing she will do if she is appointed Secretary of the VA.

G; I believe that you are under the mistaken premise that the incoming "administration" (and I use that term incorrectly) has any desire to see this agency succeed. It is my opinion that they intend to discredit it, defund it and let it fail so they can privatize it (and anything else they can get their hands on). Then, Wall Street can make a killing on it by cutting costs, firing all the help and deny services. There is more to honoring our servicemen and women by having a magnetic ribbon on your car. Everyone: Please bombard your congress-critters with phone calls if they try to put this idiot in charge of the care of our veterans. Emails and letters will probably be ignored; call and talk to a staffer. Remember their motto: "Profit, Party, Cronies, More Profit, . . . ur, what's that other one . . . . Country!"

Sarah is a media and attention whore. She displayed no values so far in her life and it would be a great set back for USA and the troops if she is given a leadership role there. Not to mention the signal it sends to young women that you can quit and have no ownership of your family and still get ahead.

The Morlocks were more than friends. One of them dated Todd. In tiny little Wasilla Valley and parts they are all very close. The sister who does the porn like ads for a clothes company in the mountains is still bff. They all know to blame Obama.

What happened to Jeremy Morlock was Obama's fault. Same as with Track Palin. It was Obama's fault. Ask Track's knocked up girlfriend.

I am surprised Sarah did not write back to Jeremy and tell him who to blame, and write to Obama. Todd's old girlfriend sure knew to blame Obama.

These families are all one big group of burning love for Sarah and alt-right business.

Perfect for Trump and the Bretbart slob.

      https://www.pinterest.com/pin/461056080574115566/

If Sarah was capable of doing a job and she could respect family friends and pay attention to needs. It would have been better for the war effort, department of defense and military. Sarah could have prevented "the plan was to kill people".

She had no plan to help soldiers when she was Chief of the Ak National Guard. Soon she had to plan how to quit.

Sarah failed the military, family friends and her job as commander and gov in Ak.

Sarah will be a shoo in with the Senate. Can you see someone like Schumer questioning a mother of a Vet or their supporters? After all the media did to soil Sarah's good name, he would just be another mother hating sexist out to hurt innocent hard working Sarah.

It would be a repeat of you can't go there and stop lying about the Palins.

Too bad. Alaskans like to use her as a joke, but no one is up to really dealing with the nitty gritty about that whole bunch.

Next comes Dakota Meyer. Possibly Track Palin as soon as they can get his whole past cleaned up. He can finally be handed a job where he works for Veterans Affairs.

Plus, she's never had a good marriage and still doesn't! She intentionally started it with a lie - Track is not Todd's biological son - he belongs to Curt Menard ( now deceased)and she married him pregnant and because Menard wanted nothing to do with her.

'More to the point, Palin has no obvious qualifications for the Veterans Affairs job. If appointed and confirmed, she would be the first non-veteran to head VA. Yes, she is the mother of a veteran: Her son Track did a tour of duty in Iraq (or did he?).'

I blame the Ak media, authorities and all the weak citizens that know the truth about this family and are complicit in their fraudulent schemes and crimes. Now they want Palin to have a job that is very important to Vets, if there is anyone that cares about Vet's Affairs, they will be on this and get to the truth no matter what it takes.

She assuredly isn't the brightest female in Alaska, that is for sure! As the years have moved on her lack of brainpower has become more and more evident!

Plus, she's just not qualified for the position/job! Having a son, by the name of Track, having served in the military doesn't make her so!

Yes, Elizabeth put the kibosh on Sarah by singing the praises of the one she beat in the Senate race, Scott Brown. Brown is a veteran and he has already met with the Trump about the appointment.

By my read of yesterday's article about Sarah, it seemed that Sarah called up Trump and wanted the job. They did not call her. So, I am thinking Scott Brown will be the VA guy.

She can use the positive press about being so highly regarded by important world leaders that ask her to lead a significant Veteran's position.

I think she will be able to get out of a job like this by claiming to be busy with something important. Her son may need a baby sitter and not want her far away for work.

Hopefully Bannon is paying her back by this claim that they would use her for the Vets. He has no intention for her to ever be in that job, or any other for his Trump business.

Her combat Mom was bogus, I think this claim she is wanted to fix the Vets affairs is bogus.

Imo it is only for her to use the bogus to build up the myth that Sarah Palin is legit and capable.

Democratic Senators Bust GOP Scheme To Secretly Confirm Social Security Privatizer

Democratic Senators Charles E. Schumer, Sherrod Brown, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Elizabeth Warren busting Senate Republicans for trying to secretly jam through the confirmation of a person who is trying to privatize Social Security to serve on the Social Security and Medicare Board of Trustees.

...The Democrats are correct. Republicans are trying to hide their true agenda. The GOP has learned to disguise their real goal on Social Security. Republicans talk about protecting Social Security and Medicare for seniors, or not touching Social Security and Medicare, but the real plan has always been to privatize both programs.

Republicans are trying to jam through a confirmation to the Board of Trustees who if his positions were publicly known would spark backlash and outrage.

Democrats have been warning for years that if Republicans ever were in total control of the government, they would be coming for Social Security and Medicare. Senate Republicans are laying the groundwork for a full-blown assault on the beloved programs that millions of Americans depend on.

It will be up to Democrats to sound the alarm and alert the public, but nothing less than a massive public rebuke will stop the Republican privatization efforts from moving forward.

Good for Bloomberg TV. The video of Trump touring the Carrier plant, like he accomplished something besides giving away $7 million in exchange for 800 jobs, is not news. The problem remains that cable news continues to lap up Trump propaganda like a starving dog.

Anyone who expects the corporate media to hold Trump accountable is going to very disappointed. The incoming administration’s propaganda effort is well under way, and the cable news networks are showing that they are going to continue to disgrace our country by behaving like Trump state-run media.

The last 2 "go to an office everyday" jobs she had, governor and the oil/gas commission, both of which were minuscule compared to the VA, were still too much for her. She quit them both. Can't wait for the senate confirmation hearings.

I can't imagine she would get to a senate confirmation hearing. Is Bannon that stupid?

She lied about her Vet, the boy Palin.

No one would care to look into what she did to enhance her agenda and convince voters to elect her to be USA VP?

How the military and Vets are used by grifters?

No one cares, then they would deserve her as Secy Vet Affairs.

      Wake up Vets!

Wake up the Pentagon and Department of Defense. Never forget their propaganda and what they did to support Cheney/Bush and the killing and maiming of so many. It was a lot to blame on President Obama, but they were successful of doing just that.

No one really deserves the lies and fraud they perpetrated for Sarah to be First American female Vice President of the United States of America.

She was after all a great woman that would not have an abortion. Plus the mother of a combat vet.

Track must have been spectacular in spite of his service connected Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The brief time he served in his mysterious combat and service and he was made a sergeant.

Don't forget who picked Sarah Palin to share a ticket and be President if he OD'd.
Research what all the military did for John McCain's father and grandfather so the bad boy could be something he was not.

He went on to screw Americans with Keating and his other issues. He is a made man in more ways than one. He wanted to make Sarah Palin and he will continue to do that since it makes him look good. Who would need to vet someone like a Palin? They have the best most convincing propaganda.

      The woman is amazing.

Not only did she have a son serving and fighting for his country by going to war. And fighting as he was in harms way.

This amazing woman went to work everyday as she was expecting her disabled son. That alone is more stress than the ordinary person can handle.

Sarah gave birth during all her hard work at the office and with the stress of having her hero son in battle. Who would blame her if she quit?

She had to quit the hard work. There was just no other way and it should not be held against her. Trump hates quitters and losers, Obviously he can forgive Sarah Palin. Since she has so many other great qualifications, forgive the quitting part. It is small, look at all else she does.

How much are you drinking, 1:31 PM? You are describing someone that Alaskans don't recognize. She was NOT and still isn't ANYTHING like what you are suggesting.

Mainly - Sarah Palin quit because she couldn't handle the job as governor! Todd was doing the majority of the work anyway! He'd alert people on her staff IF she was in a crummy mood each day. Things were a friggin' mess!

The Alaska Legislature members couldn't find her (for work!) and actually had made, and wore, pins on their lapels that was her photo with "Where's Sarah?"

She was not the sweetheart you indicate 1:31 PM! Not at all!

She was NOT pregnant and did not birth anything!

Her son, Track, went into the military because he had to chose it or jail. He got into major trouble in Wasilla!

Sarah Palin has 2 disabled sons? It hasn't stopped her, how does she do it? Her daughter married another disabled veteran.

Trump needs to give Palin a job with disability affairs. She must be an expert with so much in her family.

I think she only has two veterans and both have disabilities. Bristol would also be considered disabled. Willow it would only be physical due to height. Not her fault just the way she came out.

Senator Heidi Heitkamp, Democrat of North Dakota, is paying a visit to Trump Tower on Friday, and Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the incoming minority leader, is having heart palpitations.

“I appreciate the president-elect inviting me for a meeting. ... Whatever job I do, I hope to work with the president-elect and all of my colleagues in Congress on both sides of the aisle to best support my state.”

To Democrats, that last line can mean two things, neither of them good. If she is in line for an administration job, her Senate seat would turn Republican. If not, she seems to be indicating she is a possible vote for the Trump agenda.

And no matter what, her seat is up in 2018 — in a state that went to Mr. Trump with 62 percent of the vote.

Hillary Clinton’s popular-vote lead over Donald Trump has now surpassed 2.5 million votes, giving her a nearly 2 percentage-point lead over the president-elect. Clinton’s lead over Trump has grown in the days following the election as remaining votes were tallied in Democratic strongholds across the country. Trump won the Electoral College with 306 votes to Clinton’s 232, largely buoyed by his wins in traditionally Democratic states such as Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.

Sarah should be proud. Who cares that she was not in the service like her son, the Sargeant. Sarah Palin was overseer of military units whose duties include serving overseas.
    https://www.truthorfiction.com/palin-national-guard/

It is highly prestigious that Alaska trusted her to be their Commander in Chief of the Alaska National Guard. There will be many great men that served in Alaska and worked with the Commander in Chief at her hearing. The senate hearing will be a terrific opportunity for the world to learn more about all her good works and deeds from those in the service that know her and all she did.

"To win this war, we need a commander in chief, not a professor of law standing at the lectern." - Sarah Palin

We owe a debt of gratitude for all those in Alaska and around the world that support and stand up for her with all the media falsehoods to dimish her great ability and character.

The truth will set you free. Stop the lies about her and her service. She was Commander in Chief and she ran the state at the same time. She did that while a mother of a boy who was fighting the Taliban at the same time she was giving birth and nursing her second son. The senate hearing will be spectacular.

      http://www.seattlepi.com/local/opinion/article/Palin-s-son-becomes-poster-boy-for-GOP-as-Bush-1284681.php

Bushie's poster child sure was special.
"What may be one of his final deployment decisions as commander in chief came as the U.S. military was bracing for an explosion of media interest in Track Palin, the 19-year-old son of Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who is soon to deploy to Iraq and reports for duty in Alaska.
With three children of the top four presidential and vice-presidential candidates preparing to deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan, the U.S. military has a "Prince Harry" dilemma all its own."

Who of the three, Biden, McCain, Palin, is the bravest, hardest worker, most humble and just an all great soldier?

"After fading from the headlines, Iraq is about to become front page news again, now that Track Palin is off to the front."

When you write your history of that time, be sure to include Track Palin and the "Prince Harry" dilemma. Of course, we saw pictures of Prince Harry and knew he was where they said. We could also see Prince Harry in action. They only wrote fake news about Track Palin and he turned out to look like a slacker. Later they did try to hide his potty mouth, anger issues, violence, drugs and booze actions. Lucky for Sarah she could blame his combat duty and President Obama.

"It's the sixth anniversary of 9/11 and a year to the day since Palin enlisted in the U.S. Army. After flying to Kuwait for training, he will be deployed in a few weeks' time, performing security duties guarding his commanders, in Diyala province."

___ performing security duties guarding his commanders was not true. Did he make it to Kuwait?

"Adding to the Pentagon's problems, both Jimmy McCain and Track Palin are in the infantry and thus more likely to face danger. But the deployment of Joe Biden's son Beau should help the Democrats as they push back at the perception that they are less patriotic than Republicans because they oppose the war in Iraq."
