Senator James Inholfe thinks it's good that the EPA lose funding because then they will stop "brainwashing" kids with propaganda (Facts).

Now that President Trump has proposed cutting the budget for the Environmental Protection Agency — which oversees clean air and water programs — by over 30 percent, Inhofe is excited that the agency will stop “brainwashing” the nation’s children with its science. 

“We’re going to take [out] all this stuff that comes out of the EPA that’s brainwashing our kids, that is propaganda, things that aren’t true,” Inhofe said during a CNN interview on Thursday.

Three of Inhofe’s former staff members have taken positions in energy and environmental agencies under the Trump administration, including the EPA’s new chief of staff. Under the leadership of Inhofe’s staffers and fellow Oklahoman Scott Pruitt, the EPA has already started to refute it’s own science.

You may remember Inhofe as the guy who brought a snowball to the Senate floor to disprove Climate Change.

Inhofe is a long time puppet of the fossil fuel companies and has been arguing against Climate Change for decades.

HE in fact is the one who spreads propaganda, NOT the EPA.

And now his sycophants have infiltrated the very agency that they have been taught to despise.

Let's add this to the "You can't make this stuff up folks" file.

Oklahoma Republican Senator James Inhofe says that he has gay friends who dislike the recent Supreme Court decision on marriage equality. Riiight!

Sen. James Inhofe (R) told KJRH that the U.S. Supreme Court is “A very liberal court and we saw what happened last week,” referring to an earlier court decision allowing the Affordable Care Act to continue forward. 

Adding, “They haven’t ruled right on anything in a long time,” Inhofe turned to Friday’s landmark decision making same sex marriage the law of the land, saying he has gay friends who agreed with him that it was decided improperly.

Okay first off what kind of self respecting gay person would be against the Supreme Court ruling?

And secondly James Inhofe has gay friends? 

Yeah, I'm sure they hang out with his black friends, and the scientists who don't believe global warming in real,  in a place called bullshit mountain.

Apparently Sen. James Inhofe gets his climate change information from the Bible. Because you know THAT'S filled with undeniable facts and stuff.

As you may remember that Sen. Inhofe attempted to disprove the existence of man made climate change by throwing a snowball on the Senate floor.

And for that he was widely mocked. As well he should be.

However as it turns out that will likely have little impact on the Senator's point of view because he is taking his scientific cues from that great scientist in the sky.

Those concerned for themselves and future generations should take heart though. Inhofe doesn't misunderstand the science; rather, he doesn't need science as his guide, because God has already assured him there is nothing to fear. 

In his recent book on climate change, which he titles The Greatest Hoax, he assures readers that the scientists -- which he refers to as "alarmists" throughout the book -- can be ignored because a greater Authority has already spoken. 

"I take my religion seriously," Inhofe writes. "[T]his is what a lot of alarmists forget: God is still up there, and He promised to maintain the seasons and that cold and heat would never cease as long as the earth remains." For those still skeptical of his climate change skepticism, Inhofe quotes from the source material, "one of my favorite Bible verses," Genesis 8:22: 

As long as the earth remains 

There will be springtime and harvest 

Cold and heat, winter and summer 

Inhofe was asked about this particular piece of Scripture during a radio interview when his book came out. The passage, he said, is so conclusive that it's simply outrageous that scientists continue to address the matter. 

"The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous," he said.

First of all let me say that I am no Biblical scholar, but even I know that Genesis 8:22 is a pretty pathetic quote to list among your favorites. 

Second this is the problem with arguing science with somebody who puts faith above facts. They think the planet is a gift to mankind from God, and why would God give us something that we could break?

And thirdly we don't get to be all "let's just pat this retard on the head and simply leave him to his religious rants," because the moronic motherfucker is the chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee. You know the guy in charge of what we do about the climate change that he does not believe in.

I know that sometimes I can be a little strident in my arguments against religion, but dammit this is what we get when we elect people who believe in an ancient book they believe was written by  a magical man in the sky.

(P.S. Allow me to apologize for my harsh language earlier, I hope I did not offend anybody's tender sensibilities. Next time I will use a less sexist word than "chairman." Perhaps "chairperson" or simply "the chair" would be more appropriate when referring to that motherfucker.)

Wasilla resident's awesome response to Senator Inhofe's snowball argument against climate change.

I have little doubt that most of you remember James Inhofe's ridiculous argument against climate change last week.

Well one of our Wasilla residents (No not THAT one.) has written a rather eloquent, and factual response.

I have met Bill Hess, in fact until a few years ago he was a fellow Alaskan blogger.

He is a good guy, and he, of course, knows what he is talking about when it comes to how climate change has effected those of us in what used to be the frozen north.

Scientists now have undeniable proof that climate change is man made.

In a study published in the journal Nature, researchers at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory used eleven years of measurements from specialized instruments at sites in Alaska and Oklahoma to analyze the source of energy fluctuations, confirming that it’s carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels that’s causing warming — and not water vapor, changes in the sun or someone tampering with the data to make it look like global warming is worse than it is, as some have claimed. 

“We see, for the first time in the field, the amplification of the greenhouse effect because there’s more CO2 in the atmosphere to absorb what the Earth emits in response to incoming solar radiation,” lead author Daniel Feldman explained in a statement. 

“Numerous studies show rising atmospheric CO2 concentrations, but our study provides the critical link between those concentrations and the addition of energy to the system, or the greenhouse effect.” 

It’s important to be clear that by no means did the Berkeley researchers need to do this in order to prove that carbon dioxide is trapping heat in the atmosphere: as physicist and climate expert Ken Caldeira explained to the San Francisco Chronicle, “the underlying physics is robust and was never in question.” Climate scientist Andrew Dessler told the Associated Press that the work is somewhat similar to using a falling rock to confirm gravity.

This of course will not convince the James Inhofe's and Sarah Palin's of the world, or anybody else who are relying on dollars from fossil duel companies and the Koch brothers, but it should be enough to shut down Uncle Albert at the family's next Thanksgiving dinner.

It is time to stop suggesting that there are two sides to this issue, and it is time, well actually its several decades past time, for us to do something very serious about this problem.

Sen. James Inhofe "disproves" climate change by throwing a snowball on the Senate floor.

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) threw a snowball on the Senate floor Thursday in an effort to disprove what he sees as alarmist conclusions about man-made climate change. 

Inhofe, chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, said the snowball was from outside in Washington, which he used to argue against claims that the earth’s temperature is rising due to greenhouse gas emissions. 

“In case we have forgotten, because we keep hearing that 2014 has been the warmest year on record, I ask the chair, do you know what this is,” Inhofe said to Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), who was presiding over the Senate’s debate, as he removed the snowball from a plastic bag. 

“It’s a snowball. And it’s just from outside here. So it’s very, very cold out. Very unseasonable.” 

He then warned Cassidy before throwing the snowball at him.

Well hell I guess I stand corrected. I mean who could argue with logic like that?

I will assume that sometime this week Sen. Ted Cruz will show up on the Senate floor with a chimpanzee to disprove the theory of Evolution.

The top nine Senators who miss the most votes are all Republicans. Not especially surprised.

Of the lawmakers currently serving in the U.S. Senate, Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is the least likely to show up for work. He’s been in office for four years, and of 1,198 opportunities to vote, he has declined to do so 99 times. That’s an absentee rate of 8.2 percent—four times the Senate average of 2.01 percent. 

Working with GovTrack.us, Vocativ examined the voting records of every sitting congressman to determine who plays hooky the most. When looking into the Senate, we omitted Mark Kirk, who is technically No. 1, because he missed a year of work in 2012 while recovering from a stroke. We also omitted John McCain, who is technically No. 2, because he ran for president on two separate occasions. In the House, we gave Bobby Rush (D-IL) a pass because he took extended leaves of absence for personal and family health reasons. We considered all other members of both chambers eligible.

Gee aren't Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Lindsey Graham making noise about wanting to run for President? This should really help. 

It should be noted on the House side of things the Democrats miss votes far more than the Republicans though that might partly be due to the fact that the Republicans can pass any damn thing they want and it really does not matter if the Dems vote or not.

However as it turns out Alaska's sole Congressman Don Young still manages to come in second on missed votes.

Yep, he makes us so proud.

The GOP is preparing to mount a full-scale assault on President Obama’s regulatory agenda, using the party’s strengthened hand in Congress to delay, soften or block contentious administration rules at every turn. 

As long as Obama sits atop the executive branch, Republicans’ power to derail scores of rulemaking efforts now under way is limited. But control of both the House and Senate in the next Congress will enable GOP lawmakers to ratchet up their attacks on what they view as overzealous regulation. 

“So long as we have this president the federal agencies can go around Congress," said Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) "But we can make it very, very difficult for them." 

Inhofe, who is poised to become chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, is certain to take a leading role in the GOP push against regulations at the center of Obama’s climate action plan. 

 Critics of Obama’s regulatory policies are likely to look to the Congressional Review Act (CRA), which allows lawmakers to disapprove of regulations that have already been finalized and stop them from going into effect. 

Inhofe, for instance, says he intends to push such a measure against the EPA’s newly proposed ozone rules, which manufacturers say could cost industry $270 billion in compliance costs during its first year alone. However, the president would have to approve such a measure, which is highly unlikely. 

In a nutshell the President is pushing policies that will save lives, while the Republicans main concern is to save money for their benefactors.

Oh and by the way this last October was the hottest on record. 

You know I try and I try to explain to people the importance of voting in these midterm elections, but so many simply do not understand how much ground we lose when the Republican gain power. 

It is critical right now to continue moving forward to explore green energy alternatives and move away from fossil fuels as quickly as possible, and these asshole Republicans simply refuse to acknowledge that fact.

Apparently when Bill Nye gives a lecture, these are the people he mocks.
