Might be the worst wife ever.

Courtesy of Philly.com:

A Texas actress who tried to blame her husband after sending ricin-laced letters to officials including President Barack Obama was sentenced Wednesday to 18 years in prison.

A federal judge gave Shannon Guess Richardson, 36, the maximum sentence under her plea deal on a federal charge of possessing and producing a biological toxin. Richardson was also ordered to pay restitution of about $367,000. She had pleaded guilty to the charge in December.

"I never intended for anybody to be hurt," she told the court, adding later, "I'm not a bad person; I don't have it in me to hurt anyone."

"I'm not a bad person; I don't have it in me to hurt anyone."

Really?

Let's see if that passes the smell test.

Prosecutors say Richardson mailed the three letters from New Boston, outside Texarkana, then went to police and claimed that her husband had done it. She was arrested last June. The day before her arrest, Nathan Richardson filed for divorce; it was finalized in January.

Prosecutors say investigators noted inconsistencies in Richardson's statements. She also acknowledged in a signed plea agreement that she ordered castor beans online and learned how to process them into a substance used to make ricin, a toxin that can cause respiratory failure if inhaled.

She obtained an email address, a PayPal shopping account and a post office box in her husband's name without his knowledge, according to the document.

On the morning of May 20, 2013, she said she waited for her husband to go to work and then printed the mailing labels.

The letter to Obama read, "What's in this letter is nothing compared to what ive got in store for you mr president," according to the document. "You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face."

She eventually admitted to trying to blame her husband and lying to authorities.

Damn!

This nasty piece of work went to all the trouble of learning how to make this deadly poison, opened up a Pay Pal account and P.O. Box in her husband's name, and then sent off letters containing ricin to the President of the freaking United States.

I know we talk about the humiliating things that Sarah Palin has subjected Todd to during their years of marriage, but at least she never tried to get him arrested for threatening to kill the President.

That is a whole new level of evil in my book.

When the debate over guns is worth killing for. Two Ricin laced letters sent to Mayor Bloomberg. (Update: And one to the President as well.)

Courtesy of ABC News:

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is the latest high-profile target of poison-tainted letters sent though the mail, police revealed yesterday.

The leader of the nation's largest city was threatened anonymously in two letters sent to Bloomberg's offices in Manhattan and Washington, D.C., NYPD spokesperson Paul Browne said. An undisclosed number of New York cops who responded to one of the letters now "are being examined for minor symptoms of ricin exposure," but the potentially dangerous substance never reached the mayor.

"The writer, in the letters, threatened Mayor Bloomberg, with references to the debate on gun laws," Browne said.

Saying he has a "constitutional and God-given right and I will exercise that right 'til I die," the author warned that the government would have to kill him before he would relinquish his weapons, a source told ABC News.

You know I think that somebody's bluff is about to be called.

I have no idea how anybody believes that sending this kind of threat would EVER benefit their side of the argument, but I will also add that there are a number of gun owners, especially those Right Wing fringe, who share this lunatic's determination to hang onto their weapons.

And of course, as those of us who are NOT suffering from a mental instability realize, the proposed bills would NOT take anybody's gun away.

A recent update has more from the letter: According to the source, the letter warned:

“You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns.” It concluded with the line: “What’s in this letter is nothing compared to what I’ve got planned for you.”

Once again indicating that his is exactly the type of people who SHOULD have their guns taken away.

Update: It now looks as if there was a Ricin laced letter sent to President Obama as well.

More poison laced letters intercepted. At least one addressed to President Obama. Update!

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Less than a day after police intercepted a letter laced with the poison ricin that was sent to Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), reports of two more poison-tainted letters have emerged, including one to President Barack Obama.

Here we go again folks. It is like 2001 all over again.

Update: Reports are that the Obama letter is from the same sender as the Wicker letter.

A man I understand they already have in custody.

Letter laced with deadly poison Ricin sent to Republican lawmaker. Because you know the world was not just not scary enough already.

Courtesy of the Herald Sun:

US mail authorities have intercepted a letter bound for a Washington senate office that contained the poison ricin.

The letter was detected during a routine inspection of mail at an off-site facility and did not reach the US Capitol or Wicker's office, an aide said, citing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who briefed politicians about the security breach this morning.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid confirmed the attack, saying the letter was addressed to Senator Roger Wicker, a Republican from the state of Mississippi.

A suspect has been identified.

US Senator Claire McCaskill has told the blog Politico that the letter had come from an individual "who frequently writes to lawmakers".

Holy crap! Well at least they caught this guy.

It may be nothing but Senator Wicker WAS one of the sixteen Republicans to vote to end the gun control filibuster.

Meet Alaska's newest domestic terrorist, "Ricin" Mary. Oooh the crazy is strong with this one!

Mary Ann Morgan enters courtroom for arraignment on Tuesday November 8 2011.
Courtesy of the Fairbanks NewsMiner:

Mary Morgan was not offered bail at court hearing Wednesday morning, but a federal magistrate left open the door to releasing her before trial if she can find a third-party custodian to watch over her.

Morgan, 53, is charged with being a felony in possession of a firearm for allegedly having a handgun while trying to cross the Canada border last month.

Prosecutors say Morgan cannot be trusted to make court dates and is a danger to the community because she had documents in her car related to poisonous plants and instructions on making a pipe bomb. Prosecutors also say Morgan is part of the sovereign citizen movement, whose members believe the government does not have authority over them.

After two hours of testimony Wednesday morning, Magistrate Scott Oravec said the information about the pipe bomb and poisonous plants was “very disturbing to the court,” and the main reason he would not order her released without a third-party custodian.

My first thought upon hearing that the courts would only release Morgan to a third party custodian was, "What kind of lunatic would take her into their house?"

But I just had a conversation with somebody in the know who says that there are potentially a number of Schaeffer's fellow militia goons that might be perfectly willing to take her in until the trial, for the good of the cause.

That is NOT good news Alaska!

As you may remember Morgan not only had a handgun in her car, but that she also had pipe bomb making material and information about the production of Ricin, a deadly bio-toxin that coincidentally was also being manufactured by a militia group in Georgia that were recently arrested.

Whether or not there is any connection between that group in Georgia and our own "Ricin" Mary is as yet undetermined, but as a source told me earlier, "When one group comes up with a crazy idea, it pretty much spreads to other groups in a matter of days."

Oh and my source also told me that Mary Morgan, might just be crazy. Though I think that was something I could have determined on my own.
