“Bill Nye is as much a scientist as I am." Sarah Palin attacks Bill Nye at climate change denying event.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Sarah Palin tore into Bill Nye’s scientific qualifications on Thursday, saying he has no authority to say climate skeptics are wrong.

Palin, the former governor of Alaska and the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, said the man known for his show "Bill Nye the Science Guy," is using his position of authority to harm children by teaching them that climate change is real and man-made.

“Bill Nye is as much as scientist as I am,” Palin said at a Capitol Hill event held to roll out a film that aims to discredit climate scientists. “He’s a kids’ show actor, he’s not a scientist.”

Palin said behind the “alarmism” that the climate is changing is a “predetermined” and political agenda “of those, I think, who are controlling the narrative right now on changes in the weather.”

She repeatedly dismissed climate change as changes in weather, and said scientists who believe the consensus that humans are the main cause of global warming are trying to shut down human progress.

Palin encouraged parents to teach their children to doubt climate change and to “ask those questions and not just believe what Bill Nye the Science Guy is trying to tell them.”

Do not just "believe what Bill Nye the Science Guy is telling them?"

Does she mean "Facts?"

These are not simply things that Bill Nye pulls out of his ass, like the majority of the things that vomit forth from Palin's gaping maw, he is backed up by the vast majority of climate scientists.

This from Think Progress:

Almost 16 years after Harvard researcher Naomi Oreskes first documented an overwhelming scientific consensus on climate change, a research team confirmed that 97 percent of climate scientists agree that human-caused climate change is happening.

The study, published Tuesday, brought together 16 scientists, including seven authors of consensus studies that documented similar conclusions over the years despite varying research approaches. While reaching this so-called “consensus on consensus,” authors concluded that scientific agreement on human-caused climate change is “robust” with a range of 90 to 100 percent, depending on the question and methodology.

So is Sarah Palin also just "as much of a scientist" as these researchers?

You know despite what some news outlets reported earlier, THIS was the plan all along.

And that was to have a dishonestly edited piece of tape showing Bill Nye in the worst light possible, and then have Sarah Palin, and others, mock and attack him.

IF they had possessed the guts to plan the event for a time when he was available, he would have easily mopped the floor with all of them.

Probably using that thing on Sarah Palin's head to do so.

Carly Fiorina ambushes group of innocent preschoolers and subjects them to anti-abortion speech.

Courtesy of the Guardian:

Carly Fiorina has been accused of “ambushing” a group of children, after she ushered pre-schoolers, who were on a field trip to a botanical garden, into an anti-abortion rally in Des Moines.

On Wednesday, the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive embarked on a day of campaigning across Iowa, in an attempt to boost her ailing presidential campaign.

The alleged ambush occurred when Fiorina hosted a “right to life” forum at the Greater Des Moines botanical garden. Entering the rally, before a crowd of about 60 people, she directed around 15 young children towards a makeshift stage.

The problem, one parent said, was that the children’s parents had not given Fiorina permission to have their children sit with her – in front of a huge banner bearing the image of an unborn foetus – while she talked about harvesting organs from aborted babies.

“The kids went there to see the plants,” said Chris Beck, the father of four-year-old Chatham, one of the children Fiorina appeared with. “She ambushed my son’s field trip.”

Okay that is just straight up child abuse in my opinion.

These are preschoolers for God's sake. Telling them about sex, procreation, and the termination of a pregnancy without their parent's permission is WAY over the line.

Clearly Fiorina needed some props for the camera, and did not care one bit if she traumatized these kids while getting her photo-op.

In response to the accusations a Fiorina staff person sent an e-mail saying this:

“We were happy that these children chose to come to Carly’s event with their adult supervisor.”

Yes the kids "chose" to attend a rally that they do not understand anything about, and to hear a strange lady with a weird face lecture them about an election in which they are too young to participate.

Uh huh.

Fake abortion clinics that manipulate women seeking help.

Courtesy of Vice News:

Women across America who are seeking abortions are accidentally booking appointments at crisis pregnancy centers—pro-life, government-funded religious centers that don't provide abortions, but instead try to talk women out of terminating their pregnancies.

VICE News investigated the misleading practices used by crisis pregnancy centers to draw in women with unplanned pregnancies, and the misinformation that is spread to discourage them from pursuing abortions.

Shut down legitimate clinics, and then use the now empty space to open a religiously based fake clinic, who provide misinformation and shame to force women to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term.

Sounds like just about every other tactic used by the religious right.

Self identified "sovereign citizen" lures police officers and firefighters to burning trash bin so he can ambush them. Probably just pissed that Sarah Palin is now charging him $9.95 a month to hear her rants.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Police arrested a self-described “sovereign citizen” accused of shooting at police and firefighters after setting fire to a trash bin in Dallas.

Emergency crews responded to the dumpster fire about 3 p.m. Monday, when the man opened fire on officers.

Police said the gunman, who was the subject of a missing persons report filed that afternoon, threatened a babysitter who retreated into a nearby home with an 8-year-old girl.

No one was wounded by the gunfire, which struck a fire engine in the area.

Police said the man, whose name has not been released, called 911 to say he was part of the anti-government sovereign citizen movement.

Investigators said the man apparently set the Dumpster fire and called in the missing persons report as part of a planned ambush on officers.

The man, who was armed with an AK-47 and wearing a towel or bandana around his head, set off a smoke bomb and shot off propane tanks during a brief SWAT standoff.

He surrendered to police and will be charged with seven counts of aggravated assault on a public servant.

Gee no wonder the sovereign citizen movement is perceived as the top terrorist threat in the country.

And trust me, this is just the beginning.
