Pennsylvania teenager might get two years for face raping a statue of Jesus.

Courtesy of Mother Jones:

Teenagers are prone to dumb, tasteless pranks, but one 14-year-old is facing prison time for his latest stunt. The teen, from Everett, Pennsylvania, hopped on top of a statue of a kneeling Jesus—in front of an organization called "Love in the Name of Christ"—and simulated oral sex with the statue's face. Naturally, he posted the pictures to Facebook, which made their way to authorities.

Officials in Bedford County charged the teen (whose name hasn't been released) with desecration of a venerated object, invoking a 1972 Pennsylvania statute that criminalizes "defacing, damaging, polluting or otherwise physically mistreating in a way that the actor knows will outrage the sensibilities of persons likely to observe or discover the action." You'd think an appropriate punishment for a kid violating this seldom-invoked law might be picking up trash or, at worst, paying a fine. If convicted, he faces much worse: two years in juvenile detention.

Seriously? Two years for rubbing his adolescent trouser snake on an inanimate object.

That is completely ridiculous.

And not only ridiculous, but possibly unconstitutional as well.

That is unless Pennsylvania were willing to give this person two years as well.

Arkansas man shoots and kills 15 year old girl over prank.

48 year old Willie Noble shoots teen girl over egging.

An Arkansas man is facing first degree murder charges after he allegedly shot a 15-year-old girl to death over the weekend because she was participating in a prank on his 16-year-old son.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, Little Rock Police responded to the Kum & Go gas station after a call about a shooting, according to KARK. Officers found a white Hyundai Sonata with bullet holes, broken glass, and four teens between the ages of 14 and 18.

A 15-year-old girl who was inside the car was identified as Adrian Broadway. She later died from a gunshot wound after being taken to nearby hospital. The car’s 18-year-old driver, Dshone Nelson, suffered minor injuries from broken glass.

The surviving teen victims reportedly told police that they had attempted to prank 48-year-old Willie Noble’s son by covering his car in eggs and leaves, KTHV reported.

“Apparently Mr. Noble’s teenage son had done a prank on some of the kids that were inside the vehicle on Halloween Night,” Lieutenant Sidney Allen explained. “As a result they were doing a retaliation prank and it ultimately had deadly results.”

After the shooting, the driver attempted to flee the scene to get help.

“It was a joke. We was friends, we was gonna come over there and clean it up,” 16-year-old Kortazha Williams, who was in the car, told KTHV. “It was supposed to be a prank; we were supposed to get up right now, and we were supposed to laugh.”

Yet another senseless murder in response to an innocuous incident by an unarmed teenager.

Not a very comforting pattern.

At least this guy is African American so as we know he will be unable to use the Stand Your Ground defense.

In America that only works for white folks.

Final image (gif) of the day.

For those who are not aware, this is the man that stood up during the Mandela Memorial the other day, that was attended by dignitaries from around the world, including our current and two former Presidents, and provided sign language interpretation.

Except that he was apparently NOT a sign language interpreter, and clearly did NOT know sign language.

This from CNN:

To those outside the deaf community, the sign language interpreter for Nelson Mandela's memorial may have looked like he was working hard, translating the spoken words into gestures for four hours.

But he has been dubbed "a fake," and his actions outraged deaf people, according to an association for the deaf community in South Africa.

The service to commemorate the revered statesman, who died last week at the age of 95, was broadcast to millions of viewers around the world.

While dignitaries addressed the crowd Tuesday at Johannesburg's FNB stadium, the unidentified suited man with a security pass produced a series of hand signals that experts say meant nothing.

The Deaf Federation of South Africa (DeafSA) said the "interpreter" was not a recognized professional, nor was he known by the deaf community in the country.

"The so-called 'interpreter' who interpreted at the official memorial service for late former president Nelson Mandela at FNB stadium has been dubbed the 'fake interpreter' and the deaf community is in outrage," Bruno Druchen, national director of DeafSA, said in a statement.

"He is not known by the Deaf Community in South Africa nor by the South African Sign Language interpreters working in the field."

The man did not use facial expressions, which in South African sign language are an important part of communication, and the hand signals he used were meaningless, Druchen said.

"The signs (self-invented signs) the interpreter used are not used in South African Sign Language and it is a total mockery of the language," he said.

Okay at this point I am torn between very impressed that anybody had the balls to pull off such a daring prank, at such a  highly publicized event, and horrified that anybody could get that close to dignitaries without a background check and screening.

If this guy had been a terrorist this could have been a very bad situation indeed.

But as a prank, this guy has really set the bar to a new high.

However he had better steer well clear of the deaf community for awhile, because if they see his ass he might get a completely silent beat down, with an actual deaf interpreter standing nearby signing curses and insults in his direction.

Florida man tries to burn cross on his lawn, as a prank. Sets himself ablaze instead. Hey you know, that is kind of funny!

Courtesy of TPM:

A 50-year-old Palm Bay, Fla. man suffered extensive second-degree burns on Tuesday when he accidentally lit himself on fire while setting up a Halloween display that involved a wooden cross, candles, and gasoline, according to Florida Today. Police described the incident as a "prank."

“It started as some kind of prank apparently and involved a wooden cross,” Yvonne Martinez, a spokesperson for the Palm Bay Police Department, told Florida Today. "We don’t know if he was trying to light the cross or the candles but when he did, his clothes caught fire."

The man, identified as Ron Nielson, was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center's burn unit for treatment, and his condition was not publicly known on Wednesday.

“He was conscious and alert but he had second-degree burns over 40 to 50 percent of his body, including his chest, arms, upper torso,” Martinez said.

According to Bay News 9, investigators said Nielson was putting up Halloween decorations on his front yard when, as a joke, he poured gasoline on a small wooden cross and lit it on fire. Gasoline vapors ignited a gas can, which exploded, shooting flames into Nielson's chest and back.

You know this is the problem with today's Klu Klux Klan, they have gotten sloppy and lost pride in what they do.

In the old days these guys could plant ten, maybe a dozen flaming crosses in yards with nary a blister on their finger to show for it.

And if they had set their asses on fire they would never have covered it up by claiming it was a joke. Instead they would have struggled to sit up and yelled across the street "This was for you Juan!" Before passing out and being rushed to the hospital.

Now for something completely different. Tell me, how many of you would NOT be freaked out by this.

This video has been everywhere on the internet the last couple of days, and I have to admit I have watched it more than a few times.

I pride myself on being a born skeptic who is hard to fool, but I would be lying if I did not say that if I was in the coffee shop and saw this happen I would not, at least temporarily, be convinced that it was real.

By the way I am huge Stephen King fan and loved "Carrie," both the book and movie, and will probably watch the new one as well.

Still seeing that in person would certainly have raised my heart rate more than any silly movie.

This is the guy who wants to replace the President and become the leader of the free world?

This was taped to the press buses following Mitt Romney on his five day campaign tour.

Apparently Mitt Romney, the guy who believed that cutting a schoolmate's hair was a "prank," is STILL acting like a twelve year old over privileged little shit.

And didn't his campaign bus recently drive in circles around the President while he was speaking, honking their horn?

Several reporters on the bus tweeted with confusion, at first, why the bus seemed to be aimlessly circling in Ohio. Soon, the campaign’s brilliant scheme revealed itself as they realized the bus — emblazoned with the Romney campaign’s logo in giant letters — was circling the president’s speech site and honking at Obama supporters. The president’s talk doesn’t begin until later this afternoon, but the move seemed to be an attempt to harass, distract or annoy attendees.

Oh yeah, THIS is the guy we want to put in the White House!
