Now out of the White House Hope Hicks is being inundated with proposals to write a book.

Book publishers have already begun contacting White House communications director Hope Hicks to obtain the rights to her memoir upon her exit from the Trump administration, the British tabloid Daily Mail reported Thursday. 

The 29-year-old longtime Trump aide could be expected to make up to $10 million from an advance to a book deal and is actively being contacted by movie and TV producers as well, the Mail reported. 

"Next to Ivanka and Melania, Hope is the woman closest to the president," one publishing executive told the Mail. "[She] knows all the secrets, all the foibles, all the quirks." 

One White House insider also told the website that Hicks reportedly kept a "detailed diary" of her interactions and time in the White House, a resource that could be a major asset if she plans to write a memoir.

First off I have to imagine that Robert Mueller wants first crack at that "detailed diary" which according to Vanity Fair he may have been trying to get his hands on for awhile:

Hicks has racked up substantial legal fees, one source told me. “She’s in immense personal jeopardy,” one Republican close to the White House said yesterday. “This is a sign the Mueller investigation is a lot more serious than any one of us thought.”

And secondly of course Hicks was forced to sign a binding NDA.

However the vast amount of money she could make from a book deal, and the almost certain movie made based on that book, may be more than enough to pay for any financial penalty contained in a non-disclosure agreement.

And keep this in mind as well.

President Donald Trump’s lawyers have urged him not to discuss details of the unfolding Russia investigation with anyone outside his legal team, warning of a conversational “bright line” that could put aides and associates in legal jeopardy, according to current and former Trump aides. 

But Trump often ignores that legal advice in the presence of senior aides — including his departing confidante and White House communications director, Hope Hicks. 

“I think the president has put her in a very precarious position,” a senior Trump administration official said in a recent interview.

And just imagine everything else that she knows.

Yeah I am already clearing a space on my bookshelf for this book. 

The publisher of Sarah Palin's newest book was once sued by five of its authors because they "structured their business essentially as a scam."

"I got another book deal."

Okay so I was reading through this Salon piece on Ted Cruz's new book, explaining how the New York Times essentially outed publishing houses for using bulk sales to drive up the numbers in order to get on best seller lists. When I came across this:  

At some point the New York Times figured this out and began to list such alleged best-sellers with a “dagger” next to them denoting bulk sales, which sort of takes the fun, if not the profit out of it. And it wasn’t long ago that some authors got wind of another layer of the scam at their own expense. They sued their publisher, the right-wing Regnery Publishing for selling what would otherwise be boring, remainder bin books to various affiliated organizations at a steeply reduced price and even for free as promotional items. The authors did not receive royalties for such sales and they weren’t happy about it, one of them even complaining, “they’ve structured their business essentially as a scam and are defrauding their writers.” Imagine that. The name of the publisher, Regnery Publishing, seemed awfully familiar to me. Now where had I heard that name before?

And then it hit me:

Sarah Palin has a new book coming out, with a new publisher. 

Regnery Publishing, a conservative press based in Washington, D.C., announced Tuesday that it was planning a November release for Palin's Sweet Freedom: A Devotional.

Aha!

So it appears that Palin's newest publishing house is really just a scam operation that rips off its authors in order to drive up its own profits.  Interesting, no?

Of course Palin is not known for being exactly honest concerning book sales herself, since in the past she has used SarahPAC to purchase bulk orders of her own books in order to artificially drive up the numbers and increase her own profit margin as well.

So the question now remaining is, who will rip off whom?

Will Regnery rip Palin off, and use her waning celebrity to sell bulk orders of her books to conservative markets as giveaways, thereby depriving her of royalties?

Or will Palin herself buy up bulk orders using SarahPAC money, and then give them away to the six people who still want to read a book by her ghostwriter and pocket the money herself?

Well considering the most recent quarterly filings from SarahAPC that last scenario seems increasingly less likely.

However this IS Sarah Palin, who, I think we can all agree, was born to grift. So when it comes to being devious and ripping off her own fans, I would not count her out quite yet.

Publishers of "The Rogue" to Palin attorneys: "Book is solid, reliable, and well-substantiated." In other words, "Game On!"

Sarah: "What, they're not afraid?" Todd: "I told you that wouldn't work stupid!"

A publisher is standing behind a book about Sarah Palin, a day after Palin's attorney threatened to sue over it. Crown Publishers spokesman Stuart Applebaum says the company is confident the reporting in Joe McGinniss' book is "solid, reliable, and well-substantiated." 

Applebaum says Crown stands behind McGinniss and the book, "The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin." 

Never a doubt in my mind they would call the bluff of Palin's attorneys. Bunch of fucking amateurs!

By the way I guess I should share with all of you one of things about my interactions with Sister Sarah that I think used to make Joe kind of envious.

I was the recipient of a letter from Thomas Van Flein threatening to sue me.

Well I guess he can now cross THAT off his bucket list.

By the way it is only about seven more hours until Palin makes her appearance on the Greta Van "Damn it sucks to be Sarah's bitch" show where we will get to see Sarah demonstrate what this bullshit letter from her lawyers was really all about, by refusing to answer any questions about Joe's book due to "impending legal action."

Of course there is NO "impending legal action," so if Greta was not a pathetic excuse for an interviewer she would bring that up and press her for a response.  But we all know that won't happen!

And this, boys and girls, is why we don't see Palin making anymore appearances on The Factor.  I am pretty confident that O'Reilly would NOT let her get away with that kind of response and would probably tear her a new one, while Roger Ailes chuckled and rubbed his prodigious belly behind the scenes.

When I first appeared on Jeanne’s groundbreaking pages well over one year ago, I wrote about participating in the eBay auction to buy a meal with Sarah Palin to benefit a worthy veterans’ charity. A short time later, after losing that auction to what looked like a rigged bid, I then offered through Mudflats an additional $200,000 for that same charity if Sarah would answer civil question over a second meal, on the record, with the likes of Jeanne, Rachel Maddow, Shannyn Moore, and Keith Olbermann.

While I waited in vain for an answer from your ex-governor, I managed to contact Frank Bailey and his wonderful wife Neen. Over fourteen months ago, after substantive dialogue, we decided to pursue a memoir. Two months later, I realized I needed Jeanne Devon to help me navigate the million details of Alaskan politics and personalities. I invited (actually, demanded) she join the team. Frank balked at first. After all, he's conservative and she's a liberal blogger. I insisted they meet or I'd walk away from the project. Well, no surprise, he embraced her inclusion after only a second cup of coffee.

For over a year—that’s right, friends, over a year—we worked in silence. We spent countless hours (on my end, upwards of 70 hours per week) constructing what we believed was an important book, based on documented truth. Within the last month, we finished a marketable draft. Not a final draft--we anticipate changes, both additions and deletions--but something that our agent believed would result in substantial interest in the publishing world. You can imagine our joy.

Then the manuscript was sent out, illegally, to the media. Why? Good question (Jeanne and I have discussed writing-up this disturbing story-behind-the-story with its ethics be damned. New Yorker, are you interested? Rolling Stone?).

With permission from my legal team, Jeanne and I decided to post what is known as a Cease and Desist order. And while there are many other unnamed parties who have engaged in unethical behavior and violated copyright law (you should be ashamed of yourselves), this is the most shocking.

What is written below includes only part of what we sent to this now-officially-named individual, but is, I believe, self-explanatory (a similar letter is going out to those we have identified as also unlawfully reproducing portions of our work). I guess you can say we are not rolling over, and for those who ignore law and morality, we are not going away:

significantly impaired the Copyright Owners ability to market the book....

...The Copyright Owners believe your actions were done with the single intent of destroying the
marketability of the Work. It is no secret that you are writing your own “tell-all” book about
Sarah Palin. By releasing the Work prior to publication, you have limited the actual interest in
the Work and thereby salvaged the marketability of your own book. This matter appears to be no
more than that of a jealous author sabotaging a competitor via unlawful and unscrupulous means.

The Copyright Owners are currently reviewing their legal options and I can assure this is not the
last time you will hear from them. Besides showing an utter lack of professionalism, you have,
at a minimum, willfully caused significant damages by engaging in unfair competition and
violations of copyright law. In order to minimize the damages caused by your actions, the
Copyright Owners hereby demand that you cease and desist from distributing any portion of the
Work. Additionally, the Copyright Owners demand that you provide a full list of the parties to
whom you distributed the Work.

This letter is not intended as, and may not be construed to be, a complete recitation of the facts or
circumstances connected with this matter. Furthermore, any statement contained in this letter is
not intended as, and may not be construed to be, a waiver or relinquishment of any of the
Copyright Owners’ rights or remedies under law, all of which the Copyright Owners hereby
expressly reserve.
