Sarah Palin may have lost the confidence of many Republicans, but she can always count on the racists.

Palin's net favorability with folks who think interracial marriage should be illegal (+55 at 74/19) is 17 points higher than it is with folks who think interracial marriage should be legal (+38 at 64/26.)

If THAT surprises you, then you my friend have not been paying attention.

Of course Palin is not the only one enjoying high approval numbers with this crowd.

Haley Barbour, who is currently the Governor of Mississippi where this poll was conducted, received 79% approval rating from those who think interracial marriage should be illegal, but he also received 87% approval from those were fine with it, which seems to demonstrate that the people of Mississippi simply love them some Haley Barbour. Whether they are racist or not.

Coming up a close second to Palin is Huckabee who received a 73% approval rating from the racists, but also 73% from those NOT living in the nineteenth century. Which kind of indicates that other factors are driving his popularity.

However with 74% of those who think interracial marriage should be illegal approving of Palin versus 65% who don't mind a little "race mixing" digging the Grizzled Mama, it appears that Palin is the ONLY one who receives a substantial boost among the racists over those who DON'T spent their weekends ironing their white hoods and burning crosses in ethnic neighborhoods.

Which if you think about it is a little odd.  After all Sarah is not married to a real white dude, sinceTodd is part Yupik. Doesn't THAT qualify as an "interracial marriage" in Mississippi?

So if she is a traitor to her race what is the attraction?

Is it just that Sarah is simply irresistible to the most uneducated people in the country, regardless of who she is married to?

Or that her constant Facebook and Twitter attacks directed at Obama send a little shiver up the leg of southern racists?

Or perhaps that, from a distant, Todd looks white enough to "pass" as a REAL AmericanAnd?

Could it be because her defense of Dr. Laura after she used the "N" word 11 times on the radio gave southern KKK sympathizers a "Boehner?" (Wait, did I spell that right?)

Or perhaps it is that during the McCain campaign she became the "Poster Girl for Racism."



Whatever the reason, it is very clear that the people who DON'T like black people, LOVE Sarah Palin.  And she knows it!

That is why she rarely misses the opportunity to attack the President and show her own personal disdain for the first black man to sit in the White House.

And in my opinion that is what still makes Sister Sarah so dangerous even today.  If anybody could get the hateful racists in this country riled up enough to do something terrible to our President, it would be Sarah Palin. Because believe me, even if the majority of America is over Sarah Louise Palin, those people are still hanging on her every word.

Today must be the day for video smackdowns as Anderson Cooper schools Dr. Laura concerning her claims of "victimhood."

The Village Voice declares that "White America has lost its mind!"

What was going on? Had decades of sucking down so much high-fructose corn syrup not only made Americans incredibly obese, but also messed with white brain chemistry to the point that some sort of tipping point had occurred?

Not a bad theory, but no, there's a simpler explanation, with two parts: For the first time in their lives, baby boomers are hard up against it economically, and white boy is becoming outnumbered and it's got his bowels chilled with fear.

"In an age of diminished resources, the United States may be heading for an intensifying confrontation between the gray and the brown," writes Ronald Brownstein in his July National Journal article, "The Gray and the Brown: The Generational Mismatch." That's a polite and understated way of saying that older white folks are losing their shit as they're being replaced by young brown and black kids while the economy is in the crapper.

I REALLY enjoyed this Stephen Thrasher article! It is humorous, irreverent, and absolutely dead on in its description of what is really driving the aging white American demographic crazy.

It is fairly long (Almost FIVE internet pages in all!), and I know that many of us world wide web users have the attention span of a hummingbird on speed, but please take the time to read the entire article as it does a very good job of explaining the fundamental reasons behind all of the sudden concern about deficit spending, socialist agendas, and border control.

I imagine that most of you will not be terribly surprised by the revelations, but I think you will still find it to be an enjoyable read.  (And hey you Palin-bots, you need to read it too so that you can finally understand why you are so freaking pissed off all of the time! You're welcome.)

I don't now about you but hearing the "N-word" over and over again is very disturbing to me.  And yes I realize that is the point.

But I have to say, that was a BRILLIANT smackdown of Sarah Palin!

Black Republicans: "Sarah Palin's comments are out of line, distasteful, and should be condemned by ALL Americans."

Probably NOT part of Sarah Palin's base anyway, but his remarks should definitely serve as a wake up call to Sister Sarah's handlers.

On Sarah Palin: "Basically her job now is to play the victim of the liberal media."

I was sent this by two other contributors, but the first place I saw it was over at Progressive Alaska so my hat tip must go to my friend Phil Munger.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger WUVS her some Sarah Palin now! You know, now that she has come out to defend her and all.

I want to make a public statement about Sarah Palin; former Governor of Alaska and candidate for Vice President of the United States.

As you know, Tuesday night I announced that I will leave radio at the end of my contract in December so I can speak freely and openly about issues that concern me without fear of retribution against my advertisers and radio stations.

On Wednesday, in her Tweet and Facebook, Sarah Palin made strong statements in my support. You may remember that, two years ago, I was less than enthusiastic when she was selected by John McCain to be his running mate, as my concerns were that having responsibilities for small children should preclude such a decision.

I spoke with her yesterday and told her how impressed I was with her character. You don’t see such character much these days. I believe most folks would have had a more negative approach considering I had not been supportive at that time. But, nope, not Sarah. She is gracious and a woman of principles – no petty reaction.

Okay I feel that this needs to be addressed because I also heard a Republican commentator talking about how forgiving Sarah Palin is and how great it is that she can let things go and move on to forgive Dr. Laura for being so negative about her during the campaign.

Have these people NOT been paying attention?

Sarah Palin does NOT "let things go", or "move on", or "forgive" ANYONE!  And if you don't believe me go out and pick up a copy of "Going Rogue" and read page, after page, after page of score settling and nasty vindictive payback.  The woman leaves no back un-stabbed and changed every story to make herself seem like the rational and heroic one.

Look here is the way I imagine this whole thing went down.

Sarah Palin was sitting at Senator Stevens funeral being completely ignored by all of the dignitaries, and feeling irritable and defensive.  She picks up her Blackberry and starts to check her messages or surf the internet (There have been at least two confirmations of this, so we KNOW this part is factual), and somehow comes upon the story of Dr. Laura quitting her show after saying something really, really stupid.  Palin IMMEDIATELY feels a sense of kinship with Schlessinger and transfers HER feelings of defensiveness to Dr. Laura which compels her to impulsively send off an angry tweet (By the way I am pretty sure this happened just AFTER Uncle Ted's funeral, not during.)

In other words I believe that Sister Sarah tweeted without stopping to give much thought to what she was doing, and either did not realize that Dr. Laura had been less than supportive during her 2008 campaign, or simply forgot.

After the tweet went out, and her handlers got wind of it, they started running around trying to do damage control. It was probably right around then that her people told Palin that she had just defended a woman who had revealed herself to be a racist, and worse yet, was NOT one of her supporters.

What could they really do but completely alter Palin's character and claim that "Abracadabra" she was now a forgiving person who was ready to let bygones be bygones?  Yeah fat chance!

Don't forget this is the woman who used her office to try and destroy the career of her sister's ex-husband! 

And this is the woman who used her Facebook page to imply that Joe McGinnis was a pedophile for daring to move into the house next to hers!

And this is the woman who endorsed Lisa Murkowski's opponent for the Republican nomination because she is still pissed at her father!

And finally this is the woman who just used her daughter and grandson to manipulate Levi Johnston into retracting the things he revealed about her and to essentially destroy his credibility in the eyes of the world!

Does THAT sound like a woman who would defend somebody who had said the things about her that Dr. Laura had?

I think not.

CNN interviews woman who inspired Dr. Laura's racist rant.

She seems like a bright articulate woman who found herself completely ambushed by Dr. Laura's response to her question.

I think she is right on when she responds to the question of WHY Dr. Laura said what she said.

"I think that is what she honestly feels." 

Do you know what? I think that is EXACTLY right.
